lovely staff, west bay burger is a must, just add bacon for extra lushness if you want, good cup of tea and soft drinks are cold. ice cream a good size for money. little thing to note, staff keep most condiments in the fridge so they are not hot and runny in the summer months unlike most other kiosks.

Avoid this kiosk. I've had to re write this review as it was reported by the manager. Disgusting little kiosk serves the most awful food imaginable, Jumbo Sausage and chips. Should have taken one look at the kiosk and staff serving and known better. All I can say is rancid. All the other kiosks seem loved and looked after this one is so run down. The member of staff that served us was stood at the front smoking and chatting.

Came down to West Bay for a couple of nights with my family and we stumbled across a seemingly nice fish and chip shack with a very large menu, we ordered a couple of trays of chips, a burger and two sausages, we were very shocked to see that all chips were frozen and had been made from fresh home cut potatoes, we had to wait quite a long time for our food which was put down to the fact that the fryer wasn’t working, the food was very average and we were very disappointed by the quality and the friendliness of the person working on the stand, would not return but wish them all the best.

The guy serving was so rude. Chips tasted of old stale chip fat. I would definitely skip.., queues at the other food kiosks are obviously for a reason,

Popped into West Bay for a quick stroll around dinner time. Had 2 West Bay Burgers from here. All ok - decent enough meal reasonable price.

Popped into West Bay for a brisk walk and lunch. Had been to anchors aweigh back in the summer for their cheesy chips which were plentiful and loaded with cheese (much nicer than those from By the Bridge who everyone seems to rave about but we have tried twice (once just for chips and once for f&c) and both times was rubbish and over priced). The chips from AA were hot and tasty. Today we had a bacon and egg bap. I asked the guy for my bacon to be well cook and he obliged with lovely crispy (not dry) bacon and a perfectly cooked egg. I think some of your poor reviews are from people who are confusing you with other kiosks as we could not fault you. We will be back!

Run by 2 fantastic men who are friendly, welcoming and helpful. Able to cope with fussy children & my elderly parents requirements. Generous portion sizes, served quickly and efficiently and a great price compared to others. A children's meal is less than £3. Loved it so much we went back twice!

was told food was gluten free ordered chips and was told it was cooked in a safe fryer as i am coeliac. Ended up extremely poorly after eating, this is awful if gluten free cannot be guaranteed it should not be stated.

Food was appalling. May as well have eaten plastic food with how shocking the burger was. Can of Rio was luke warm, chips tasted like cardboard. Overall, this was horrific, do not recommend, cheap rubbish.

Popped down to West Bay with my mother on Sunday for a little time in the sun as she has been self isolating. they couldn't be more accommodating if they tried. the burger was lovely, they had a limited menu as they cant put all the staff in due to covid 19 regulations at the moment. It was great to see all the bikes in Westbay as well as some of the other stall holders beginning to open. would have liked to have had a pint from the George but that will come soon. They are open till 8pm as well so you could have a supper there.

Just fancied some chips while walking around the harbour. These were cooked to order and nice. The kiosk also did a wide range of burgers.

There are plenty of little huts and we were walking to the pub, when we past. Great selection of burgers - we were hooked. Cooked fresh to order, and as you liked it. Great friendly service. Followed by a big mug of coffee just the way I like it. We're new to area, but this place if a defo go back to place. Don't just go to the first hut, just walk down. Thank you 😊

The "West Bay Burger" is simply the best fast food I have ever had from a kiosk. Prompt friendly service. Good value. We recommend this type of burger from this establishment.

We visited Anchors Aweigh last night and ordered 2 west bay burgers with onion rings and the service was amazing. They cook fresh to order and pay attention to allergy procedures and also the first time ever I saw a fast food business use a thermometer to check food temperature. The staff were friendly and respectful and work hard to get the orders out. Thankyou Brown family from Gloucester.

we ordered 2 cheese burgers and a portion of chips. they were all cooked to order so we did not mind waiting. our meals were very tasty. friendly staff.

Sólo me apetecía una hamburguesa y patatas fritas para la cena y nos fuimos a nuestro puerto local para anclajes Aweigh. Muy sabroso, no importa esperar porque está fresco. Muy feliz que no pescado y patatas fritas como yo, encontrará un montón de lugares cocinar sus pescados en el mismo aceite que sus fichas y yo soy alérgico al marisco, así que muy enfermo. Personal muy amable, teniendo en cuenta la presión que estaban debajo. Precios muy buenos, así que una gran relación calidad-precio. Incluso me trató de un helado después como las vistas son preciosas

Food was of terrible quality and the man serving was rude. I definitely wouldn't order from here again, shame as many of the snacks along here are lovely.

We visit this food stall frequently, either for a mug of tea or a bacon or sausage sandwich, its great value for money and always freshly prepared. Its always very popular with the visiting bikers too.

really good fish and chips and very tasty pasties, could do with a few more table and chairs but i suppose space is a bit limited,however staff were very efficient and coped very well considering the size of the kitchen area

Can recommend the mega burger and very cheesy - cheesy chips if you are starving and the lovely cake they serve. Went for the place with the biggest queue and wasn't disappointed.

The opening times of these huts is a bit odd. This was only one open.Had bacon burger and chips twice. Seem clean and tidy. Staff freindly. Was nice and no fault to be found.

Ordered two portions of chips and a chicken burger. Not a long wait, 5 mins maybe, while waiting my husband saw them pour a bag of frozen chips into the fryer. Not a good start but we had already handed over the money. The chicken burger was ok, nothing special but ok. The chips were horrendous. We just couldn't eat them. My husband poured salt and vinegar on them generously but I couldn't taste anything except the horrible chips. These chips are why the seagulls are so huge in West Bay. Go somewhere else or contribute to the growth of the seagull population!

We approached the cabin at 5:56. A couple infront and my family were rudley turned away by the grumpy looking chef "these people are my last order. We're closed"Assuming they shut at 6 would it really have killed him to cook 5 more cones of chips, or at least refuse us kindly.

Went on a jolly by the sea and ended up in west bay and unfortunately ended up ordering fish and chips from this little cabin overlooking the harbour ( all the others were closed) I should have had my reservations about this place when the menu had around 50 things on it from egg sandwiches to curry and beyond We were told it would be 10mins and was more like 20mins but hey ho a pint in the local pub could wait until we had our lunch . I Saw the lady put the chips in a container ten mins before the fish was ready and this cricket bat shaped delight was placed on top with acetic acid and sodium added we were ready to start as I broke a bit of this frozen fish away I could see the batter was not cooked inside and the fish was Luke warm to cold as were the chips ( frozen catering rubbish )I would have taken it back but the lunchtime queue was surrounding this little hut had got quite large and I wondered what fate lay ahead for themThis was truly the worst takeaway I have ever ordered and I say ordered but it was not eaten nor did I try to give the seagulls a belly ache . I have to give this place one star to get on the scoring board but I would have liked to give it minus five I think the rubbish bin at the side would soon be full with other miffed diners binning there ocean delight ( sorry it took so long ) Wednesday 5th nov bon appetite

Wanted to grab meals for family but wont be going here again this fortnight. Fish and chips that was one of the worst I have had and odd curry sauce - mind you you do get a lot of it. Batter on the fish was very poor and fish unpleasant. Kids had sausage and chips which were ok but then it was only sausage and chips. Will be trying somewhere else next time..

A last minute decision to have burger and chips today. The burger was ok, nothing to write home about, though I wasnt very adventurous and only went for a plain one. However chips were fab! The best we've had from anywhere locally. Staff friendly, clean and tidy. Premises looked after and clean.

On our last day in West Bay decided to have a venison burger and couldn't fault them. There seemed to be a steady stream of customers everyday which is pretty good recommendation.

I mirror the previous review, we too have eaten at the traditional one before and was great, but was closed on our last visit so we tried Anchors Aweigh... Absolutely awful grey looking cod with a very unusual smell and taste, the only thing good about our meals bought here was the mushy peas and beans that were out of a tin from morrisons, although the pair running this cabin thought it totally acceptable to heat the beans in the same pot that the mushy peas had been in, without washing it. Don't waste your money here!

We intended to go to the traditional fish & chip cabin next door but it was closed and we assumed this place would be a similar standard. It wasn't. We think it was frozen fish and was a world apart from how seaside fish & chips should be. They have a huge menu containing things like crocodile burgers & horse burgers so I can only assume they are believers in quantity over quality. My advice? Avoid.
