The Anatolian hosted a Wedding Reception for us. The staff were incredibly helpful and went the extra mile to make sure everything was as we wanted it. The food was excellent. They catered for a vegan and gluten free guest. All our guests were complimentary. The staff even led us dancing around the restaurant. All in all, great food, service and atmosphere. Thank you for adding to a memorable day and making it completely stress free.

Beautiful food and great service

We came on a late night when everything was closed, they were the only ones that still served us, we were treated with hospitality, kindness and care. The food was amazing, some of the best we'd ever had especially consideringsome of our family comes from Anatolia. We were given free tea, baklava and they kept the restaurant open for us whilst we finished. Would recommend to anyone and everyone for a delicious dinner at reasonable prices made with care in a beautifully decorated restaurant.

Staff were lovely. Food came quick and was tasty. Couldn’t ask for more.

Went for lunch today and had the main menu and even thought the bill came to £80 it was worth every penny. Fantastic service, the most beautiful food!!!! Cannot wait to go back next week!!!!

We booked, and we were pleased that we did, as the restaurant was very busy (on a Thursday night). There was a complimentary bread and dips. We then shared the cold meze followed by lamb shish (me) and mixed lamb and chicken shish (husband). The lamb was delicious asx was the salad that came with it. The mixed shish disappeared, so can only assume it was equally good. Front of house was efficient and very friendly.

Adana Kofte was incredible. All the mezes we tried were amazing. Would go back a hundred times if we lived here.

Myself & my wife spent the evening there celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary. We'll recommend for sure food was superb. Service excellent made us very welcome.

I always leave the nicest food till last but this posed a problem here because everything was perfect. I had the mixed kebab and the three meats were beautifully seasoned and presented. The vegetarian option was interesting and delicious as well. Desserts were not too big and sickly. A great experience.

A beautiful place, the decor is lovely. The food was delish! We were given a bread platter with chilli, garlic dip and olives as complimentary. My friend and i had the mix fish kebab, salad and chips and she had mash. My other friend had lamb and rice. It was amazing. Thank you for the great customer service and attention to detail. We will definitely be back. The wine was lovely too. Plus we were given ice cold water too. X

Cannot fault anything about dinner there this evening. Food was excellent, service was attentive and friendly, atmosphere was relaxed. 2nd time there and will definitely go again.

We were a group of 6 diners, and we enjoyed a fabulous meal sharing mezze dishes and grilled meats. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Service was courteous and attentive without being intrusive.

Love this place ,We ordered alot of food off the menu and it was all delicious, the best was the sword fish, atmosphere was amazing it was like been on holiday and i had the best cocktail I've ever had , waiters were polite and friendly very welcoming highly recommend.

We took our friends here today and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was incredible as usual, but what made it amazing, was Semih's level of service. He was fantastic on every level and made the experience very enjoyable. Can't wait to go back, just wish it was in Newport, so I could go all the time.

Harika!! Beautiful restaurant serving the most delicious food. The Turkish customs and cultures can all be found here, and I was welcomed in the traditional Turkish way - conversation and of course Turkish tea. They made a custom wrap for me which was delicious, and for the first time I tried Şalgam suyu, an aquired taste but none the less very nice! Güzel yemekler ve insanlar, tesekkurler. I will be back 😊

Really enjoyed my experience at Anatolian. We had not booked a table but were allocated one anyway as we came before the busy evenings bookings. For starters we had the hot meze platter, would recommend this, very tasty with plenty of choice. For mains we had lamb chops and mixed kebab (kofta & shish). Let me tell you, this lamb is some of the best I have tasted, cooked to perfection. Drinks were a little expensive, but great choice of options. Waiters/waitresses were very attentive. Will be visiting again the next time we visit South Wales.

I have had lovely meals from here in the past, a couple of times I have woken up with a dicey stomach the next morning. Now I have read in the newspaper that the owner of this restaurant is the same owner of the Marmaris Kebab house that caused a food poisoning outbreak. Apparently Mr Saritag is the actual owner not the guy sami is the front man. Won't be going here again.!

Restaurant review of Anatolian Turkish Restaurant Abergavenny @anatolianturkishrestaurant1 We ate here on the Sunday bank holiday and we were the last table to come in 9pm, they gave us a great table in the corner at the back of the restaurant. Perfect table for us. One of the best restaurants I've eaten in. Swipe to see all pictures We ordered the set menu for x4 , which was great value for money. (Swipe to see what was included) The food is cooked over charcoal, giving it a great traditional Turkish BBQ flavour, all the meat was marinated in various spices, and served with a huge portion of rice, pearl barley and salad. The decor was very unique and traditional. The highlight for me was the service. Our two servers couldn't have done enough for us, thank you so much to April & Ismail , you really elevated the experience for us. I will be recommending the restaurant to everyone I know. Absolutely delicious foods and very kind service! I highly recommend their tasty foods.

Very expensive and the owners are quite greedy with it, adding things to the bill they shouldn’t add. I don’t remember it being this expensive the last time but we all agreed we wouldn’t rush back at these prices. £24 for a kebab and £7 for hummus with no bread (just as examples) is far too expensive

What a lovely Turkish restaurant. We were travelling back to England and decided to stop in Abergavenny and enjoy some Turkish food. It's quite pricey but the restaurant is very pretty and so is the delicious food. Pay and display Car park a short walk away but it's located on the main road so you maybe lucky to get on street parking.

Visited with no prior knowledge of the restaurant. Absolutely loved it, certainly an interesting & unique decor inside. Food was lovely, couldn't fault it. Recommended.

Took our two young boys and baby here on a Sunday night. Amazing friendly service, incredible food, fabulous atmosphere! Would highly recommend. One of the best Turkish restraints I’ve been too!

Lovely atmosphere. Really welcoming and helpful staff- waitress leant me her reading glass as I forgot mine, and then advised me on excellent menu choices ! Great food and crazy interior. We came across this place by accident and it was rammed on a week day early evening. Must have been because of the food which was excellent as was the service. It has a crazy interior like you are in a cave with murals and the odd shrine!

Popped in here on a Monday evening. Great welcome and service. Plenty of people eating here even on a wet evening in March. Choice was excellent and food was really generous and very tasty. Musakka was very well received; cold Mezze also. We will be back when next in the area.

Tasty food. Good quality. It's not casual dining though, as it's quite expensive. The service was efficient. We went on a Fri afternoon and it was quite quiet.

What a truly fantastic restaurant this is. We happened to go there on a Thursday night as we were in the town waiting to pick our daughter up from a party. Wow, are we glad we did. From the moment they brought out the complimentary bread, olives and dips we were hooked. The 3 courses we tried were all wonderfully cooked and very tasty. We had a mixture of shish, lamb , hot meze and some more tradition Turkish food which you don’t see on menus very often at all. We experienced excellent service from each of the 3 waiters that evening who were eager to help and serve us. The baklava is the best I have tasted and we have travelled for many years to Turkey for our annual holidays so have a little experience in Turkish food. We enjoyed a couple of glasses of Turkish house wine which was very good and suited the meal very well. We found it so good that we booked to return the following weekend while we were there and brought some other members of our family. They too had the same delight as us from the food and service. Again, it was so good that we booked another table for the following week and took a new set of family members to sample the food. As we thought, they enjoyed the restaurant as equally as we did. I had a different lamb dish on each visit and was impressed each time and with each course at how tender and tasty the meat was. Lamb chops we superb, my Iskender kebab was fantastic, the hummus and lamb was a triumph, the chicken casserole was tasty, filling and plentiful, the babar ganoush was amazing, the fish casserole was packed with meaty pescitarian delights and the chicken beyti was big enough for two. The 2 tradition Turkish desserts can’t be faulted and I had to order 1 of each to share with my wife as they are so good - the best rice pudding and baklava ever! There are a few certainties I have come to find here - the food is delicious, the service excellent and you will NOT leave the restaurant hungry. Portion sizes are very generous and this is coming from a diner who can eat quite a lot. My only complaint is that we live too far away to go there every week! There is very good wheelchair access to the restaurant (my daughter uses one) and the staff are eager to hold doors open and assist in any way they can. Just one thing that could be improved, the wheelchair access to the toilet is not brilliant but this could easily be made very much better by having the accessible toilet door opening outwards instead of in. Having said that, my daughter managed (just) to access and use the toilets with the help of her mother. So, please could you possibly change the door to open out instead of in?? That would make this restaurant an 11 out of 10 for us. We will definitely be returning and very soon, it is just too good not too. Thanks Anatolian, tekrar görüşürüz dostlarım

I go here every time I visit the area. On this occasion the lamb ribs were meaty, succulent and welll seasoned. Just delicious food.

Highly recommended if you are looking for freshly made authentic Turkish food. All meat dishes are cooked over a charcoal grill and are delicious! Friendly, fun service and great atmosphere to go with it!

Warm bread with dips to start - amazing. Home made yoghurt was superb. Kebabs were full of flavour and well cooked with a good range of accompaniments including barley risotto with the rice and more creamy yoghurt. We will definitely return. Thank you.

Restaurant was very helpful and accommodating for a booking of 42 people. Communication was great and all food was delicious and out in a timely manner. Would definitely recommend!

I'm not sure anywhere beats this restaurant in Abergavenny. The place is so beautiful. Lighting was perfect. Beautifully decorated walls. The sitting arrangement is just spot on. Service could not be better. Very friendly host. He did a great job, and it made my time in place so comfortable. Cocktails were so well made. And the food was superb. I look forward to visiting soonest.

Excellent food Staff were very nice and food came on time . Food was fresh and very delicious . If you are looking for a turkish restaurant you have to come to Anatolian.

Decided to give this restaurant a go on meeting up with friends for lunch. Very clean and well presented seating area. Food arrived promptly and was presented well and tasted great. My only complaint was the waiter who started to clear away the table when one of us was still eating. The restaurant was near empty so it was not as if he was struggling to keep tables clear as he was on his mobile most of the time. I would visit again but only 4 out of 5 for this annoying mistake.

The restaurant is a first class experience with a warm ambience and great atmosphere, special for intimate dining or larger group formal occasions. Sami, the manager runs a highly disciplined team to ensure the level of professionalism and quality of service. The food is authentic and delicious, with a skilled team of chefs using top quality ingredients. To be rated highly, dining out as a fine artwork experience!

Went for the first time. Food and service was excellent. Good value for money too

Unfortunately the attention we received was poor. After being shown to our seat and given the menu we waited 20 minutes and had to request them over to take the meal and drink order. I received my drink and after 5 minutes further I had to request my friends drink. Throughout the evening there was no follow up from the staff as to how everything was or to enquire whether we wanted another drink or a dessert. Considering the next table had dessert menus. Following the clearance of our table and without as much of a “excuse me” one of the staff barged across me to pick up the one knife which was on the table. I paid by cash and put it in the wallet, they took the money away but didn’t come back with the change I was owed. The food was tasty but the evening spoilt by lack of attention.

This place is insanely good. I have eaten a lot of Turkish food all around the world and this is easily up there among the very best. So authentic, fresh and well cooked. If you don’t come here when you are in town, or anywhere near then it’s your loss!

Excellent service from a really friendly nice bunch of lads, food was superb, for those who say it’s just an expensive Kebab try it and then judge, we had meze starters, olives for the wife sucuk for me which is a Turkish sausage, then we shared the special which is a platter of different kebabs wings and lamb chops and ribs, massive amount of food and we failed but the quality of the meat was superb
