Incredible food and service. The mixed meat platter and the meat and rice dish are ones to come back for. They have vegetarian options too. They also serve a Turkish spirit, great for shots. And Turkish tea.

Delicious and authentic food, huge portions, honest price and incredibly friendly staff We had the stews of the day, both lamb and chicken are served with salad, fresh bread , rice and two sauces. Absolutely tasty and hard to finish the whole portion. Although we had space for baklavas and Turkish tea. Will be back often!

My only issue with this restaurant were the chairs. The chairs need to be all fully upholstered. Delicious food and the staff were good too. Another most important issue which I did not like is that the toilets are shared by both, men and women. This is not right at all. There should be separate toilets for men and women. Especially, women find it very uncomfortable to bump into a man in the toilet. Please make this a priority for the customers to feel happy and content.

The food was amazing!!! But the waiters were passive-aggressive and rude. We came as a group for our sister's birthday, and the moment we walked in, we were given unwelcoming looks. We told the waiter that we were still waiting for people, but he was persistent on our order (the side of the restaurant we were in was empty, so there was no excuse for rushing a table). He snapped at one of my sisters friends because he wanted her to place the salad bowl at a certain place of the table. Leading to the end, I was talking to my aunt, and the staff was rude starting wiping the table in between us while we were waiting to pay for our food. Paying for our food was a hassle because the waiter thought we would lie about our orders if we all paid separately, we definitely didn't pay your service charge because the "service" was disgusting and almost ruined the mood. What a disappointment, because this was gonna be a place I would have come back to.

Huge portions and tasty. Quick service and not busy. Better than you would expect, looks a little like a takeaway, but is a restaurant also. Great if looking for a place that has healthy options.

I picked up a TooGoodToGo bag from there around 10pm, and it was a brilliant experience. The staff had my bag ready to go, so it was all sorted in no time. The food was absolutely delicious and the portions were massive, such great value for money!

We were passing by and saw customers eating chicken donor sitting outside the shop, the diner was huge.. so we walked in and ordered 2. It was great.. a little inexpensive side though at £10 each

Exquisite Turkish kitchen, at a very affordable price.

One of the best meals I’ve had in my life, and even my pickier dad called it divine. The servers are super attentive and lovely, they checked on us regularly with great smiles and offered suggestions knowledgeably when asked. The portions are huge and the ingredients are clearly high quality, one of my favourite part was genuinely the tomatoes in the salad because they tasted so fresh. The rice was fluffy and tasty too. In terms of the main meals we had the Ali Nazik and the lamb with yoghurt and they were both absolutely incredible, I couldn’t tell you which was best but highly recommend them both. I’ll definitely be back when in London, it’s so worth it!

I met up with friends I hadn’t seen in a while in Hackney, and they recommended a great restaurant. Three of us went and ordered two appetizers and a large kebab. The food was amazing. When we asked for the bill, the waiter, a tall guy in a black T-shirt, handed it to us. We were laughing with my friends, but when I saw the bill, something seemed off. Upon careful inspection, I noticed a service charge had been added, and it was excessive. I mentioned it, and the tall guy in the black T-shirt suddenly got tense, angry, and insisted we leave a tip. I couldn’t understand his behavior. We didn’t want to argue due to time constraints, so we paid the bill and left. It was just a damn £10, but everything felt unbelievable. We won’t be returning to that restaurant; his behavior made us feel terrible.

Last three times I bought a kebab from Anatolia Restaurant has caused me to have diarrhoea pretty bad. Therefore I conclude the diarrhoea is caused from eating the kebabs at Anatolia. Won't be going back. Also the taste of the food has got worse, but the price has increased. I don't mind paying more if the food is good, but if you pay for me I won't be eating from Anatolia Restaurant again; I want to avoid diarrhoea and potentially food poisoning. Staff are miserable and I think most of their customers are drunks. The last three times I ate their food, within a few hours I started to have stomach pains and had to run to the toilet and sat so long caused other issues which I should not go into. I think the health people should close this place down.

I used to come here a lot, but the quality of the lamb shish meat has gone right downhill. The last time I picked up a takeaway the meat was chewy and fatty so I ended up throwing most of it away. The salad, rice and bread were all lovely though. I will give it another try before writing it off completely!

Had a takeaway from here. Very friendly staff. The food was amazingly tasty and tender. All meats served with rice and salad. Great to see it being cooked infront of us. Staff gave us black tea whilst we waited Reasonably priced too

Place has gone down the pan the food was awful.. never again will I eat that rubbish .

Refurbished since I last went. Thid place is a family and frienf favourite on birthdays and still holds a high rep in food and services. I recommend. The men work extremely hard ensuring you are served well!

The Lamb Kofta is the best kebab I've ever had

We recently went out for a dinner to this restaurant. We ordered mixed grill for two. The portion was very big. If you are starving - this is a spot for you. However, when it comes to the taste and quality, you may be a bit let down. The meat wasn't the best, especially compared to other Turkish places in the area. Also ,we asked for no rice with our meal, yet a mountain of rice still showed up. We didn't eat it, so it was a waste of food. When we asked for extra sauce (not once, twice), we were ignored by the waiter. If you are really hungry, I recommend this place to you due to the portion sizes. But if you are looking for a good quality, tasty Turkish meal you may want to check somewhere else.

Really bad! Met a friend for lunch here today and we ordered a few different dishes. None of them were good. One in particular tasted off and we told the waiter, who told us that because we had tried it we had to pay for it. We ended up just paying and leaving as we didn't want to pursue an argument in a restaurant (and have never left a bad review of a restaurant) but I have been sick multiple times this evening suggesting there was something seriously wrong with the food. The whole day has been ruined because of this experience, I feel terrible, and to make it worse we tried raising this with the staff first and they ignored / totally dismissed us.

This is a new discovery for me because I am rarely in this part of London. However, the food is really good, well prepared, honest food, made with love by an all male squad of people in the kitchen, expertly grilling, and warming up bread on charcoal, giving a Smokey flavour to everything we ate. The portions are big and the main dishes ( we had a chicken kebab and a lamb kebab) come with rice and a salad, as does the exceptional humus we had. The service is attentive and unobtrusive and they are always there when needed. We went in a Sunday evening, after the cinema, and the restaurant was empty, so no atmosphere at all, but the food and the service were so good that I was left baffled by the fact this gem of a restaurant was empty. The quality of everything we ate was exceptional and the prices were very low for the quantity, and quality, of the food we had. Definitely worth the journey to Mare street for!

The best place! My boyfriend and I come here pretty regularly and the food is spot on and super generous. The service is always friendly.

Ordered a halloumi takeaway wrap, worst one i’ve ordered. Wrap was not toasted, so was cold, soggy and mushy. No garlic sauce offered or put in, halloumi undercooked and cold. I order this from other kebabs shops two or week times a week. This one is bottom of this list. Disappointing

Great place to go with a group or just on your own. I will be going with another group tomorrow for our end of year meal. Great food great service. One of my favourite eating places.

I didn’t want rice but chips instead and they refused to make such a minor adjustment for me so myself and the group I was with didn’t order in the end, and we walked out, never to return again

Incredible donner kebab. Takeaway so can't comment on service. It is another level of kebab. The bread and rice are 4/5 the sauces nothing special and is the only complaint I could make as if they made these fresh it would be perfect. The meat is the star of the show and you will not get better anywhere and that includes Istanbul. I can only speak of the Donner meat but the others cooking on the coal BBQ looked incredible. Chicken and lamb Donner with rice, bread and salad enough to feed a pig was £13

everytime i come there they mix up my order. either it’s kebab without sauce or a completely wrong dish. i even showed them what i want right on the menu. instead of seeing their fault, they correct me in a condescending way and call me darling. funnily enough my boyfriend never has any problems. also this restaurant is extremely overpriced, 12£ for a wrap with dry meat and no sauce is insane. this was definitely my last time at anatolia, since women don’t seem to be treated as worthy guests there.

Dont eat Chicken or Lamb Doner here. Three quarters of the meat is just fat. Maybe more. It is disgusting. No meat inside. Just animal fat. Worst doner of the town.

This place has been in better shape, food was decent but overpriced although mine came a bit overcooked and very brown almost charred (hard to justify going there opposed to anywhere else even if trying to be healthier than Wetherspoon). The service was lacking (a member or two gave off a strong odor that was very off putting), furniture has seen better days. We ate and we promptly left. Try somewhere else first and then check how hungry you are before eating here.

A real treasure. There aren't many places in London where you can have a sit down meal with table service after midnight! We had grilled kebabs, rice, bread and salad. All delicious, with plenty of leftovers for tomorrow. The staff were extremely gracious and friendly. I'm sure we'll be back!

TERRIBLE SERVICE! The service was very slow. The waiter took down the wrong order and had the audacity to come back to the table and ask if it's enough food (his own mistake as the wrong order was taken). People who arrived before us were served first. To top it off, the food was cold, and bread was stale. When the bill was ordered, we stated that we weren't happy with the service. The manager was called and said he didn't care as the food had been served, and he never apologised and went storming off to get the card machine for us to pay. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Food was spot on, I took my step mum there for a treat, we shared the Prawn cocktail as a starter because the portion was big. The main was tasty, the service was brilliant.

Lovely food straight off the charcoal pit, it was fresh and very reasonably priced. We turned up as a group of twelve and had no problems whatsoever with the seating arrangement as it was quite a big restaurant what so ever. My group go here for fellowship every Saturday after our meeting and it is always good service, beautiful food, great service and lovely setting. I think this restaurant is a little gem my personal opinion and the salad and sauces was beautiful. Five stars from us thank you

Food is OK to great depending om what you order, kebabs are a bit dry for my liking and kofte could be seasoned better, the daily specials are always nice and you get a lot for your money, fish and chops also good. It's the best kebab grill on Mare Street and probably a mile in any direction Staff and owner are all great, friendly, helpfull and generally cool, so I'll keep coming back.

Can I have my money 💰 back??? I ordered a mix Donner kebab take away and it was bad. The meat was super dry and really tasteless and there was a piece of fat, I suppose, I don't know what it was, but it was not nice🥴. The worst is that I paid 11 pounds for it Ouch☹️ 😳.

Loved this place for many years not been for about a year after I heard lamb donner had gone downhill but popped in today for a another go..lamb donner £10 got home was full of fat with a shred of lamb and a 2 inch long bone that I nearly choked on ..however my sons lamhuchen with salad was beautiful ...

It is a great place to feast with family and friends. The portions are very large and the prices are quite good. Especially mix kebab is a must-try. Salads and appetisers that come with the dish are so good that you can be full while eating them. Besides, sutlac ( rice pudding) was one of the best dessert we have eaten in a long time. Employees are always ready to help you also hygiene and cleanliness of the place is very good. It is a large and spacious place.

Love this place - visited for a quick bite to eat with my partner on sat 4th march while catching up with my old hackney jobcentre crew. The food was as good as its always been - my last visit was over 5 years ago (I first came here in the 90's until I left the area in 2009) - very pleased to say the restaurant is still excellent quality & great value - fresh & tasty with great service, missed you guys and will definitely be back whenever I visit hackney again (hopefully not more than 5 years this time) .

Limp salad, undercooked lamb ribs. Then they overcharged me. When I pointed it out management refused to rectify their mistake. Avoid at all costs.

I was always told check the toilet cleanliness before eating in a restaurant. If the toilets are clean then you can be assured the kitchen will be, i will say no more with establishment. This place is Terrible, stay away and save your money. Tasteless lamb soup, lentil soup not much better, soggy salad that was well past its best and should never of been served. A brown colour salad is never a good sign. My partners tea was cold and she asked it to be removed from the bill, the manager claimed it was hot and refused to credit it and said no free drinks here. Very short sighted by the manager and goes without saying we will not return. My partner is Turkish so I've had plenty of experience with Turkish restaurants and this hands down is the worst. Now I know why it was empty when we arrived prime time at 7.30pm. If you want bad food, bad service, and arrogance then look no further. Bad value, worn out and dirty inside.

Unhelpful rude staff over the phone!!

This is a great local Turkish takeaway and although there are plenty on Mare Street and East London, this one is our consistent go-to. Great quality meat and always grilled to perfection. Folks there are always nice, restaurant is clean and highly recommend a visit.

Service brilliant. I had kofta kebab and rice including salad My daughter had lamb chops rice and salad. Both meals were fabulous and you can get free table water. Altogether the Meal for two was £37.00 I will definately visit again.

Visited Anatolia a number of times in fact for a lengthy period of time it was our favourite go to family restaurant. However I’ve noticed significant price increases for instance salmon used to be £7:50 then went up to £12 just after pandemic today it was £17. We didn’t get any complimentary items as is usually the case with many other Turkish restaurants I’ve dined in and believe you me I fully expected it given the menu prices that in my view are over priced. Service wasn’t the best neither. I think they are catering to the monied people amongst us certainly not regular customers. Sadly I won’t be eating there again…a shame really because I considered this restaurant to be one of the better Turkish restaurants in the area 🥹

Best kebab restaurant in east London

I have used this place for years and I have noticed that it is going way down hill. Ordered food this evening, called the shop to ask for the food to be well done, but on arrival an item was missing from the order and the meat was barely cooked , some people may like their meat pinkish but I do not hence why calling. Called the shop to inform accordingly and they just insisted that the order was complete and they have cooked the meat according to request. Doubt I will be using again. ( only added 1 star due to no choice )

My food was full of oil, chicken wasn’t cooked neither was the meat my friend had. The iskender was drenched.. my friend couldn’t even eat it. Explained to the chef after he couldn’t even offer a refund as it wasn’t touched. Mentioned to the waitress that I wanted my food well done and he said all of our food is well done. Owners changed, horrific avoid this restaurant !

This is a long standing, local Turkish eatery and, while staff come and go, there is a perennial family of cooks and waiters who stick around, work hard and greet you warmly. The food goes up and down in quality as chefs change so what's good on the menu does too. Lately, ingredient prices have started showing in the food. The mercimek çorbası (classic lentil soup) is a little less minty and home style; the sulu yemek (daily stewed specials) feature fewer peppers and a whole lot more potatoes to go alongside your bread and rice (!); köfte have all but disappeared but, that said, the flavour is still rich and intense. Little gripes aside, keeping up warm hospitality under stressful conditions deserves recognition along with decent health and safety. Let's hope the landscape improves and this amazing E8 Turkish can go back to the quality it used to represent. Update in solidarity August 22, no bread with soup at £5.50. Guess energy price problems?

Great late night kebab, good vibes, nice people

Food is always good but recent price hike is ridiculous. Mixed kebab used to be about £14 and now closer to £20. I can understand prices going up but this isn’t just covering their increased costs. I’d feel cheated if I continue to eat here.

Went here to get food take away, OMG when we got home the food was uncooked the order was wrong (it wasn't what we asked for)! Waste of £45.00!!

Sometimes really good, sometimes really bad. This time Moussaka was served partially frozen, which can happen, but no apologies whatsoever and paid in full. The waiter acted annoyed the entire time and each time he was rushing away before we could even finish a phrase. When we asked why the Aubergine Kebab is never available he dismissed us with “is difficult to make”. Said that, delicious Alinazik and Kebab plus good portions.

Bad service with one member of staff

We arrived at the restaurant which was empty (only one table occupied inside, and 2 outside). We have been sat down close to the windows with our 2 children. I asked the waiter if I should leave the pram at the entrance but he told me to leave it next to me, which I did. The menu was given to us. We placed the order and waited for our food. No drinks were offered. A waiter approached the table and polished some side plates in front of us: Weird… Shortly after, we received our « large » mixed platter: a tiny bit of steamed rice and 5 pieces of meat !! How large is that?? Ridiculous A little salad, not appealing at all was also brought along some bread. The food was absolutely TASTELESS !! I never had such a bad turkish food, it was not marinated, the service was inexistant. The restaurant got busier and they sat all the tables around us. When we asked for the bill, my friend told the waiter to pay £28 on card as the bill was £27 and some penny, and guess what, while leaving, we found out he had charged her £30 !!! Why on earth would you do that?!! And Obviously, we had to disturb all the tables around us to be able to get the pram out of the corner we were. Such a silly idea from the waiters ! To resume: AVOID this « restaurant » Food is Horrible, service to laugh at ! Extremely disappointing experience.

I had a very authentic kofte kebab. It was awesome. Highly recommend if you want a better kind of kebab.

I went to for pick up delivery order from this restaurant. One of front kitchen staff swearing me with bad language. (Fat boy with beard) I would like to ask everyone please don't go this shop for eating. Those guys behaviors so bad and rude.

I had 2 lamb doner and it was overcook because worst meat smelly and had more nerves and fat then meat. Unbelievable. Also salad and bread funny !!! Ciger kavurma all greasy, don’t make it again pls. PLS, check your staff and food. That food maybe poisonous. No hygiene !! We throw it all the food into the bin.
