Small portions and overpriced, food quality in itself was poor especially the donner meat. Whilst the staff weren’t necessarily rude they weren’t welcoming, would not visit again, Marmaris kebab in Shaftesbury high street is much better

Thought we have a treat as the sun was out. Disgusting over cooked frozen rubbish. My kids didn't eat a thing. Chips so over cooked there was nothing to them nuggets over cooked. Sausage tasted off I spat it put. Burger was so over cooked and the bun was solid. What an absolute waste of money which in this day is a big thing. I will never set foot through the door again 🤮

Food was well over an hour late freezing cold! Sauces,cheese and salads all missing off orders! A member of staff agreed to give me a refund on Monday yet no refund received and everytime I call I'm told a different day or different excuse so looks like I won't be getting my money back!! Was a £40 order that was not edible! AVOID THIS PLACE!!

Just had the worst meal from a Shaftesbury takeaway! AVOID at all costs, the food was just terrible, frozen chips, tasteless and soggy, curry sauce was watery!, and the "large" cod was tiny, very expensive junk. WONT BE BACK EVER!!

Thought I should put right the review by Natasha dated Feb 2019. I’ve been buying fish and chips from Amy’s regularly for about 18 months. Never have I had a reason to complain. The food is delicious and there is always plenty of it. Certainly never ever had the food presented in the way described by Natasha.

The scampi was awful looked like mushed baby food, baby food probably has more taste. The so called chips were frozen fries, severely undercooked, raw and still cold in the middle. The vegetarian food was being cooked with the other food. Think a visit from trading standards and Health department is needed. Please don’t waste your money.

We have been using this takeaway for months as the food portions, quality and reliability were excellent. Ordered on-line at 1620 for delivery 1930 on a Friday. Called at 2000 and told ‘we are busy’. Phone then left the off hook. Ending up with beans in toast. Food arrived and was refused at 2050. Took four days to get a full refund. If you are busy, either don’t accept the order, or plan deliveries properly, or at least ring the customer and give an option. Will not use again as suspect this is no longer a family run business.

Won't bother again for fish and chips as I'm not keen on frozen oven chips, which is what these tasted like. I dread to think what was in the "scampi", and you get a small sausage for the price of a jumbo sausage elsewhere, really not good.

Very nicely made however the chips are hot but not terribly tasty. Good size portions. A suggestion would be to label the box as to what each order is. Mine was without chilli but didn’t know who’s was who’s when arrived other than that very nice and very quick delivery. 😊

Used to get Just Eat from Blandford, but once they find out you live halfway between them and Shaftesbury they cancel the order. During lockdown tried Amy’s for the first time. Now after my third order I can say the pizzas are very good. Kebabs very generous, but doner can be greasy so ask for salad and pitta separate. Salads lovely. Been on time or very near every time. Thank you, we have been neglected for too long. Please continue with delivery, even if charged as now, when lockdown ends.

Ordered a chicken doner and lamb shish. Unfortunately it turned up twenty minutes later than planned. The food was good and there was lots of it. We ordered two lots of chips too but we only needed one.

Had dinner from here a few times, tonight was burgers, both very nice, well cooked & chips not greasy, would recommend them. Also their kebabs are lush!

We are local to Amy's and eat there regularly.We have fish and chips and kebabs and have it delivered.When we go online and order we have the option of choosing how we want our food cooked and it is always excellent.The staff are friendly and polite and give you a warm welcome.

Great when it was a chip shop, the best chips, friendly huge portions could't recommend enough but now they have stopped doing proper chip shop chips its just another kebab shop. You can ask for chunky not skinny fries but they are still just frozen and chucked in the fryer. I would avoid now which is a real shame as before they changed they were brilliant and ordered loads, I like lots of other people recently would never order again from there

Don't normally write reviews but had an excellent chicken kebab , quite fussy made to my request of salad etc only negative was the chips not quite to our taste

thought i"d give amy"s another go, how stupid of me!! ordered small battered sausage small chips and scampi, scampi was ok the chips seem to be from a packet certainly not fresh rumbled potatoes crap!! the sausage was absolutely disgusting think it had been sat under the heat all day!! one bite spat it out straight in the bin !! the only thing i ate was the scampi, what a rip off !! waste of £7.

I ordered a combination kebab with no onions or peppers...it turned up with 3 pieces of meat each and with onions and peppers on..my wife ordered a large shish kebab with little chilli and coleslaw..a small one turned up covered in chilli and no coleslaw...we also ordered kebab meat and chips which was tiny..we asked for salt and vinegar on our chips...got none..

Amy's Fish & Chips is more of a kebab shop these days than a Fish & Chip shop.

i have had a couple of meals from here and they were fine , this time however i thought i would try pie .chips &battered; sausage, a bit disappointed . pastry was soft. & chewy the batter on my sausage was soft and chewy too, perhaps my expectations of crisp pastry and crisp batter is just too high. think the pie and sausage had been under the heat lamp for some time.

Don’t eat from here it’s disgusting I purposely asked for it not to be soggy and it turned up soggy and greasy and when I asked for a refund they were abusive towards me when I’m 3 month pregnant and refuse to eat food that will make me seriously poorly I also recorded the phone call and will be sending the food untouched to training standards.

Recently added Kebabs .burgers and Pizzas to thier menu. Have always thought their fish and chips the best in this town, but their kebabs are equally wonderful. Huge portions, but good quality produce and cooked perfectly. The salad was served in a separate container and so fresh and tasty, a meal on its own! I am so pleased that they now do a delivery service.

Called in for Fish and Chips on the way home and glad we did, chips were very nice not greasy and a few of those nice overcooked crunchy ones in the portion as well, my favorite, fish was a good size and again not over greasy, staff were nice and friendly. Worth a stop if you passing,

We have had fish and chips from here on numerous occasions and have found the quality of the food to be very consistent, have never had anything to complain about. Sometimes there is a queue, but that just goes to show that it's a popular place, I'd be more worried if it was always empty.

We had to wait, but it was worth waiting for. My wife and I shared one medium fish and chips (they don't do small) and it was enough for two! Fresh and tasty fish, nice chips.

Stopped here to try out their Fish & Chips. Fish was good and the chips, well there were so many of them, way too many for the two of us, not greasy which was good.

Shaftesbury's newest chippie, and gaining a reputation for huge portions - will that change? Probably, but at the moment "small" chips between us is plenty enough for my partner and I. They are also more like home-cooked chips than most. Only slight quibble was that the steak and kidney pie my wife had was only luke-warm - may have just been unluck on that occasion.

The small portion of cod was enormous and the portions of chips humongous! We could have eaten one large cod nd one bag chips between us...cod was delicious, batter light and crispy...chips were over cooked precooked, almost grey.

Out of all the chip shops around, theirs are the best chips I’ve ever had, and for my that makes the fish and chips (although I had battered sausage which was amazing) we will definitely return!

After a day travelling, we were ready for a good meal. Amy's Fish & Chips exceeded our expectations. Wonderful, freshly cooked Fish, Chips with Mushy peas - all piping hot and nicely served in a take-away box and bags.

Just had fish and chips not impressed as 90% batter 10% fish. Went straight on bin. Now I'm cooking for everyone

Tried here on Saturday night. Offered small or large cod. Opted for large but shouldn't have as was enough to feed a small island. Luckily chose small chips. Great value for money. Unless you are a fat git I don't think anyone will need a large cod and large chips but good luck if you do! Very good chips and the cod was good too. Will be back soon!

This is a newish take-away right next to a large petrol station so makes an ideal stop-over , on any journey, for a great meal. It is very clean and bright establishment with very obliging staff. There is a varied choice of menus. The portions are well-sized and very tasty, all given in excellent box packaging. Very, very tasty!
