Amo's Cafe in Cardiff

The chef came to our table and asked about our order, giving us some great recommendations. He was really nice and knew a lot about the menu, which made our dining experience even better. Because of his help, we ended up choosing a fantastic meal. The kebab we got was so good – really tender and delicious. The staff were all super friendly and welcoming. We've decided that we're definitely coming back here again.

I came today with my wife, we ordered 3 different items from the menu. The food was tasted very authentic, fresh and delicious. Simply what you expect from a home cooked food. Staff is very friendly and welcoming too.

A lovely authentic Persian cafe, the portions are huge the prices are affordable, really good value for money but also the quality of what comes out of the kitchen is superior to a lot of the competitors on the same road, the staff are very friendly and welcoming and were more than happy to answer questions about their meals and were happy to make changes where needed for dietary requirements, we ordered the kabab koobideh it was really tender and super tasty 😋

Food was 3 hours late (which isn’t the restaurants fault) but when calling them they told me it had been cooked upon order so was at that point 2 hours already cooked. They said to call just eat to tell them. Just eat offices closed. It states on the order they won’t start cooking until a driver is assigned but obviously not. When it finally arrived it was completely inedible - poor all round, Just eat has gone to the dogs.

Food is amazing. Will definitely order from here again.

This is a small Persian cafe on city road. The food is amazing and reasonably priced. The family who run it are lovely and it’s the best cup of tea I have ever had in a cafe. Been in Lincs a year and went back to visit them greeted like an old friend try it.

Amazing food! Working in the area and ate here two nights in a row, wish I'd found it sooner! Massive portions (make sure you're hungry!) beautifully cooked and served by lovely staff. Pierre is the man 👍🏻 Excellent value for money. Recommended and will definitely be back 😊

Situated on the multicultural City Road in Cardiff, this Persian cafe bistro offers excellent food and service. They offer all day breakfast and also some authentic Persian dishes. My friends and I had lunch there and the food was great - just feel like home-cooking with lots of flavour and aroma. Portion size is good, easily filling for one and a half meals per person. Their dessert options are good. The baklava are delicious! The coffee here is great and they support a charitable company for the coffee beans. I highly recommend this cafe bistro.

As many said, the food is delicious but the place is tiny and you have to wait quite a while it's cooked. The people who work there are very kind and friendly.

One of the best Persian food restaurants in all the UK. They have lots of vegetarian options, the staff are so friendly, the food is amazing, and the cafe has a home feeling to it. I highly recommend it to Persian food lovers and anyone who would like to try new dishes. I also strongly recommend the saffron tea.

Amazing place for having Persian foods!!!

Staff was helpful and courteous, they were not very busy but short on staff. We had to wait nearly 1.25hrs before food served, it tasted OK but it was proper cold not warm at all. We had 9 different dishes orders and hardly one of them was hot enough. Pair who served the food was helpful, probably shortage of staff let us down. There is off road parking but difficult to find one free.

The food made me feel very nostalgic, everything was great, the yogurt and wild garlic was surprisingly amazing since it looks plain but the taste proofs otherwise, 100% would order again.

We got chelo morgh and koobideh and Ash reshte. I liked the Ash reshte the most.

My first visit to Amo's and certainly not my last. We had chicken and lamb kebabs with rice. The lamb was excellent but the rice and chicken were out of this world. I could cut the chicken with a spoon it was so tender. Absolutely delicious.

Absolutely incredibly tasty food, highly recommended! I’ve spent over a week in Cardiff quarantining in a hotel prior to join a ship. Slowly working through the city takeaways and cafes via deliveroo and Uber eats. If I’d discovered this gem on day 1 I don’t think I would’ve tried anywhere else. I had ghorme sabzi with rice, hummus and yoghurt and cucumber dip. All very well cooked and nicely presented, good portion sizes and fantastic flavours, thank you!

Authentic Persian and delicious. Ghaymeh was excellent, though the fesejan could be tangier. Definitely one of the best halal places in Cardiff and I strongly recommend it.

Great Persian food. The staff are riendly and they are sheets happy to go out of their way to accommodate us. We have been as small groups and bigger parties and never been disappointed. They serve great hot and cold meals and drinks Would definitely go back. For those interested, they serve Halal food.

Amo's is a family run cafe with a Persian feel. The name means in farsi "your uncle,on your fathers side" and the owner is very much that to all his customers. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly and in many ways is like being a guest in his home. Mot'hezar's cooking is second to none,whether you order an English dish or Persian cuisine, whichever you choose for certain you're in for a delightful treat!

it is a cosy place and good for family. staffs are so friendly and welcoming, and it is atmosphere are so friendly . about the food i should say they are so delicious and i liked them too much. i tried Ghorme sabzi, Olvie and lamb shank there and they were so delicious, the foods are so fresh and its hygiene is good. i should say it is the best Iranian Restaurant in Cardiff.

This place is fantastic! A small, family-run cafe serving delicious Persian food. We ate lunch here yesterday with our two small girls and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. I tried the ghormeh sabzi, which was so delicious. I'll definitely return soon to try more of the menu. Highly recommended!

In a time where the boys and I were lost and looking for nothing but a simple bite to satisfy our nutritional needs... there came Amo’s Cafe at the end of the tunnel. A succulent yet well proportioned dish of wonders servered by the most welcoming of staff. It was truly a breakfast for the ages.
