We visited here on Thursday evening , we just had drinks and only saw it whilst passing, It was on our last evening on our 5 day visit to Swansea, I wish we’d seen it before as I know we would have used it more. A lovely smallish bar with lovely outside seating, overlooking the marina, lovely cocktails and a very good barman/cocktail waiter, tables were cleaned as soon as they were vacated, Highly recommend this bar. It was lovely :

An enjoyable late night drink at this quayside bar to have a civilised finish to a night out in Swansea. A special call out for Reece who could not have been more accommodating even giving us some large bags to protect us from the heavy rain whilst we walked back to our hotel!

A small bar with a great view and live music. The beer is reasonable and service quick and friendly. The only downside is only one toilet each for gents and ladies leading to desparate measures if there's a queue.

After a great lunch as usual in la Parilla then a fun atmosphere in Garbos ... Here... Well what can I say! We have been here a number of times with reasonable service but tonight they have topped it. The cocktail was awful and beyond that the smell from the toilets was enough to make you question why they are still in business. What put the nail in the coffin fur me was the response from the blonde, bar guy when I said the cocktail was awful. Customer service he did not comprehend - if you go good luck and sit outside and enjoy the view!

I have frequented some of the finer estsablishments in London, Paris and Rome during my travels and none can match the service and produce delivered here. A breath taking waterfront location right on the welsh riviera offers panoramic views as far as port talbot. As you relax with a refreshment it is easy to recline and let the gentle sound of the tawe carry you off to more exotic climes. It's easy to see why Swansea is known as the Venice of Wales! The small team of staff will cater to your every whim with a charm and grace rarely seen outside of a michelin star establishment. Thought I would drop in to the Americano for some cocktails and nibbles, sit outside whilst the weather is warm and not raining, unusual for Swansea. The cocktails seemed to be mostly ice with some red colouring. When the Continental Plater arrived it consisted of 4 different types of cheese, some lettuce leaves and a couple of slithers of bread from a baguette (£15). When I asked the waiter could I have a little bit more bead to go with the cheese, he tried to sell me some more at £12.95. I explained I didn't want to buy another platter, just a couple more pieces of bread, he refused, mumbled something and walked off, refusing to come back to the table. Nice evening spoilt by rude staff.

Music is way too loud, can be heard for miles around. Also poor quality music, like drunken karaoke with screeching until late into the night. Seems to attract roudy drunks, so if you want a drunken karaoke at 110 decibels give it a try but wear ear plugs.

Called in on a summer Friday evening. Great location if a little small inside (plenty of outdoor space overlooking the water if the weather allows though). Lively place with a good musician the night we visited but the queue for the unisex loo's was a major pain, especially when the place was busy. One star deducted for that but otherwise worth a visit if you have a sizeable bladder ! Same applies to Garbo's just around the corner.

Came here as a starter for a night out in Swansea. It was smaller than I expected. They make absolutely lovely cocktails for a great price. Could do with more people serving when busy though their 'sex in the dock' ' tequila sunrise' and mojitos were lush.. I had grilled spicy chicken tapas and thought mine was a bit dry. Though portion sizes on food was great. The feta salad was Lucy and so was the bread platter. The only thing for me that let the place down was the toilets which were buzzing. The toilets are also shared between men and women and I think they should be separated as they have got two cubicles and the queues for the toilet were too long. Other than that would go again for a coffee. Just toilets are very off putting.

Our first visit (5th Dec 14) and we found the place buzzing with atmosphere but no spare tables. A quick request at the bar as to how a table could be secured resulted in a lovely waitress (didn't get her name, young with long dark hair) asking us to wait a mo while she sorted one out. In fact she went outside and brought a table and chairs in for us, even placing a reserved sign on it so it wasn't taken before we got to it. We ordered food and drink at the table, a good selection of tapas, which was delicious. The manager (Angie) came to check if everything was okay for us, which it was, and made sure we were well looked after all night while we relaxed with lovely food and drink. The addition of a blues/Motown band added to a great night. We will definitely come again.

Visited with colleagues for tapas and drinks. After browsing the menu where it stated that table service was available, we waited. And waited. When I called a member of staff over we were told there was no table service and to go to the bar. It wasn't busy and there were plenty of staff members wandering around. While the food was okay, the staff really didn't seem bothered, and I was barely acknowledged when buying drinks at the bar. Called here on a weds evening spur of the moment. Couldn't have been a better choice. Was reasonably busy with no seats outside as it was a lovely evening! Sat inside not far from the bar which made no difference as view was just as good and was lovely and cool. We ordered 5 dishes of tapas which were all excellent, really tasty and plenty of it although did think some of dishes were a bit expensive. The atmosphere here is really laid back and it is a perfect place to relax and unwind in the evening. It's only a small place but you don't feel crammed in there's plenty of space between tables. Drinks are reasonable and the service at the bar is always excellent! The staff are really friendly and polite. We had a lovely evening but left shortly before the live music started as it was pretty loud. Definitely worth a visit! The food is excellent and so are the atmosphere and staff. Will 100% be going back and would strongly recommend to others. It's a little hidden gem.

A brilliant Saturday night at this popular venue. It rightly deserves its excellent reputation for a wonderful atmosphere, live music and excellent food. Staff are efficient and attentive; I could not fault the service with food being served promptly and empty plates and glasses being cleared from the table within minutes. Revellers who had over indulged were escorted politely and carefully away from the venue and I was impressed with this understated way of ensuring everyone had a good time without causing an unnecessary commotion as can happen at some bars when staff wade in to remove drunken punters. This is a brilliant venue for tasty food, exotic drinks and live entertainment. Full marks all round; I will definitely be returning soon.

Was an amazing atmosphere with outdoor seating, glorious sunshine, atmosphere and it was really busy ( a good busy). The cocktail selection was wonderful, the toilet facilities were fab, the view was amazing. And then we ordered food. The tapas was actually really nice. However service was slow. We ordered food as a group of friends, and the dishes came out in dribs and drabs which interfered with our day out and conversation time as it was a reunion. Then they had left a metal clip/ wire wrapped around a piece of chorizo. My friend was about to eat it before his girlfriend spotted it. After seeing the carelessness of leaving metal in food we stopped eating and were paranoid we had all swallowed something too. The ladyDid seem flabbergasted at what had happened but thought giving someone a free pint was appropriate. I was extremely disappointed only because we had spent £150 there and it was completely ruined. They didn't seem to care about the metal and shook it off very quickly. We probably won't go bk now which is a pity.

Visited here for the first time and was looking forward to a night somewhere that has been raved about. However, myself and others in my group were highly disappointed and left after one drink. We were able to get a table outside which was nice overlooking the dock and was warm with the help of outside heaters. When I went to the loo, I realised men & women use the same ones which put me off. They were not very clean despite the toilets being checked apparently every 2 hours. Maybe the checks need to be every 60 or 90 minutes? Also, when ordering our drinks, the service was dismal. One bar person turned his back on us and busied himself tidying bottles, even though we had waited about 10 minutes at this point and had a queue of people behind us. When we were eventually served and ordered drinks, the bar lady disappeared for 5 minutes into the kitchen area then eventually returned after we wondered where she'd gone and she was eating! Had she washed her hands between munching on food and then serving drinks and proceeding to add lemon and limes to our drinks using her bare fingers even though there was a perfectly good pair of tongs in the bowl of orange slices in front of her?! I pointed this out to her and her reply was "sorry". Needless to say, we were highly disappointed with our visit here and fail to see why so many people rave about it. I will not be visiting again.

We were a party of 8 who came here for our team Christmas Night out. This was Saturday 14th Dec so we thought it best to reserve a table beforehand as it was so close to Christmas - good job we did as it is so popular! Our group was made up of males & females, ages 25 - 40. Whilst the inside of the bar is very narrow, it certainly added to the cosy feel. There was lovely mood lighting which gave it a fantastic atmosphere, especially looking out over the marina with all the Christmas lights outside. We chose Americano as we wanted food, without the formal feel of sitting down at a 'proper' restaurant. We ordered about 10 different dishes from the tapas menu and all shared. The mediterranean bread selection was fresh & warm, the nachos portion was huge and we all really enjoyed the chicken skewers and wings. We had garlic bread and also enjoyed the wedges and onion rings. One of our party is vegan and she often finds it hard to find tasty things to eat when out, but we all felt satisfied after we'd finished everything. We also ordered from the cocktail menu - we had about 4 or 5 different ones each for the duration. We had 2 bottles of wine at the table and a few beers were ordered also. The waiter provided table service which was great and we were able to run up a tab, rather than paying each time. The total bill for all food & drinks came to spot on £200, which between 8 of us was £25 each. I don't think I've ever been to any restaurant for food and that amount of drinks for £25 each! There was live entertainment from a singer/guitarist who - whether he wanted it or not - had us and other tables of people joining in - he was really good and even started taking song requests from people.A very loud and cosy place, with lots of different types of people which made this work party very memorable.I will definitely return (it's a fab place for pre-drinks before heading to 'the great wind street' of Swansea) and can't wait for the summer so we can sit outside looking over the marina.

The bar staff appeared distant and impolite. One toilet cubicle for Gents and Ladies left a feeling of lack of hygiene. As one of our group said the clientelle ranged from people in their only good set of clothes spending their dole cheque in one afternoon to those who were only there to flash the cash and hope they'd pull because of it.Pretentiousness abounded particularly from the bar/waiting staff.Won't be going back.

I had visited the cafe once before when it first opened for a lunch time business meeting , and had had a very nice panini but hadn't been back since. The venue itself is very nice, right by the water, with plenty of outside tables if you wish to sit out. The inside is very small with only a handful of tiny tables and chairs. We phoned up to book a table for dinner on a saturday and were told they didn't tale bookings on the weekend, which was fine and we dicided to go down early so we could get a seat. Arriving at 6:30 we found the outside almost completely full with big groups, we asked to be seated inside and were first escorted us to one tiny round table, and the member of staff squeezed 5 chairs around it for us, my husband asked if it was possible to push 2 tables together as we planned on eating and the waiter said that would be ok, although was clearly not happy about it.First we were surprised by how little there actually is on the menu in the evening. Around 6 'meals' consisting of fish snadwiches or salads and 8 'tapas' dishes, plus a few sides. But we were there for my fathers birthday as he wanted to try the place, so we ordered a selection of the tapas and a side of wedges. The bar was pretty busy but our food and drinks arrived very quickly, which was good. The prices are pretty high considering what you get - the chicken wings, consisted of 5 small wings and cost £6.95! We eat tapas often and know the dishes are small, so that wasn't the issue, if the food had felt freshly made (or even made by a chef in house) it wouldn't have been so bad! But sadly the quality was nothing to write home about, alot of it felt like typical pub frozen food that had been plated nicely. Frozen wedges, basic nacho's with some typical dip dolloped on top (Weatherspoons portion is bigger, better and cheaper!), the bread platter had 4 rolls on it and a tiny portion of balsamic vinegar and oil, barely enough for the amount of bread, patas bravas and meatballs were OK, the cod goujons were probably the nicest part of the meal. The dishes were cleared quickly after we ate and we were offered another round of drinks at our table, which was good considering how busy the place had now become, but they did have a lot of staff considering how tiny the venue really is. What we didn't like was the fact that as soon as our plates were cleared we were asked to give up our second table, it was a little rude in all honesty, we had ordered a round of coffees so planned on staying a little while longer but they were desperate to get the table off us.The other major problem for me was the other clientele. Now I can't say whether it was just the one evening we were there, or whether this is a regular thing on weekends - the latter is more likely as far as I am concerned. Outside was a rather large and rowdy bunch of young men (Valley Commando's as they are called locally and in the pub trade), all downing pints, encouraging each other to drink more, and arm wrestling! Then chatting up the large groups of perma tanned girls that were also there - I suspect this is used as a pre drinks venue on the weekend before they hit Wind Street and the clubs. This is just a little off putting if you are after a nice evening with family or a chat with friends whilst listening to the jazz music. They caused a little commodition when their wrestling resulted in some smashed glasses and finally the manager stepped in and asked them to leave, which at least made it a little more plesant. Sadly the rest of the crowd wasn't all that much better - granted half the room seem to be filled with regular people, the other half was barely dressed, over made up young women and mutton dressed as lamb older women - it didn't give off a great overall look or feel to the place. Whilst there they had an issue with the toilets, with one becoming blocked, and staff unable to sort it, so they were down to just 1 toilet which created some queuing. But this is out of their control. But that being said I think we would return for an afternoon drink or coffee outside on a weekday as the place itself is nice, location is lovely and the staff are very nice (other than taking our table) - although we didn't stay for the music that night, we would like to on a weekday when it is less busy

Visited here last night with friends and I have to say I was quite disappointed. The view was fantastic (hence the two stars), we did manage to get a table outside and the lady behind the bar was pleasant enough. But that's where the positives end. I had a 15 minute wait to use the toilet and had to queue thorough cafe where people were eating. When I eventually got there the loo's were dirty. Whilst we were sitting outside a gas canister had been left and spontaneously 'went off' spraying whatever gas it was over me and my friends. This was very loud and quite alarming, however, barely got an apology from any staff. Needless to stay we did not stay to eat and left shortly after. And I won't be back.

Apart from not being approached by the waitresses while we sat outside for 5 mins on a glorious sunny evening and having to go inside to ask for the wine list, we had a lovely relaxing unwind and drinks - a lot more chilled than the very loud live band playing round the corner in La Parrila!

Americano is fantastic! Great food, great atmosphere, great cocktails. It is very small so book if you want a table, but on a clear night it's lovely to sit outside and they provide blankets! Enjoyable live music most nights.

Visited on a Saturday lunchtime with the children. Shared tapas-style dishes which were good. I have visited previously with a group of friends for drinks and it is a nice place to sit and socialise. It is very small however, and whilst it was quiet when we arrived for a family snack, by the time we left it was full of large groups. Due to the size of the place it then felt very noisy. I would visit again, that said.

Went for a few beers here with a mate. Great location in the harbour with the new housing developments. Very narrow with tables either side and bar at the back, out door seating with heating as well. Choice of a few draught lagers, spirits and coctails. Great service, will also bring drinks over to your table. Acoustic artists playing in the corner, not to intrusive. Doesn't feel like your in Swansea, possibly somewhere in Spain. Reasonably priced with free entrance and music, food looked very appetising and a generally relaxed and friendly ambience inside, would definitely reccomend.

Have been meaning to give this place a visit for some time after hearing good reports. Had a tea, coffee and a sharing platter of various meats. This was presented extremely well, and tasted delicious. Will definitely return!

This is a little gem of a place.Very pleasant waterside aspect, good selections of wine beers and food options, and usually a bit of entertainment with a band or so on. But it is very small place, and on the occasion we visited on a Saturday evening an extremely loud group of young suited men were completely off their trolleys drinking. It was a great shame and we were forced to leave because they were a nuisance and the management did not deal with it.

We have just had one of the best New Years Eve ever at this little quirky venue! The 2nd time we have had a drink here. Friendly helpful staff, they really care how your night is going and that you are happy with drinks food etc. FOOD - Great tapas menu to choose from and really good quality produce.DRINKS - Great Cocktail menu.MUSIC - Brilliant live bands, seen 2 and they have both been really good, creates a fab atmosphere. You can sit outside as they provide blankets over looking the water, just brilliant!PRICES - I think real value, we paid £14 for a bottle of Rioja!Cant wait to go again and sample some more tapas with the flow of live music.......

Tiny, and a mish-mash of ideas which some how works brilliantly creating a fantastic atmosphere - the food isn't american and the music wasn't Jazz when I was there, but who cares? Wish there was one in my town.

We had a great evening's entertainment here. There was some lively music and dancing and all in good spirit. Trendy people aplenty but also average joes like us. The venue is brilliant to sit outside for cocktails. Also conveniently close to the Premier Inn Waterfront where we stayed for the evening. I also prefer it as an alternative to the places in Wind Street? Look out for the piano susoended from the roof!

A great place to escape from the hustle and bustle of Swansea. In such a good location no matter what the weather. Yes it is small, but that just makes it more 'cosy' in my opinion. The owners, James and Matthew are hilarious and always have a smile. Ask James for some of his tales; he may be young but he certainly has some great stories to tell. The food is always outstanding too. I have never had to wait long for my food, and the portions are always just right for me.The live entertainment has always been great. The music is varied yet always suits the venue perfectly. James and Matthew must be better at pciking entertainers than Simon Cowell. It's nice to see James and Matthew doing so well. Good luck for the future.

I've visited this bar on a number of occasions for evenings out with the girls...and it provides the perfect setting. The tapas is tasty, there is a great selection of cocktails, wine and other drinks, the service is friendly and the live music is good too. The atmosphere is relaxed and although the venue is small, there is plenty of seating...with comfy chairs (complete with blankets) under a canopy outside the bar. Sadly due to the 'delightful' weather that Wales often experiences, I've never had the opportunity to sit outside, but I can imagine that it would feel very European if the sun was shining! Americano Jazz Caffe is certainly somewhere that I'd return to and it provides a welcome alternative to Wind Street.

One of the newer bars on the SA1 development. Lovely atmosphere especially the outside seating area on a summer evening (they provide blankets to cover knees!). Regular live music and I have seen/listened to some fab accoustic players/singers. A lovely escape from the frantic antics of the Wind Street area!

I was on a recent visit to see the folks in Llanelli and as usual - ended up on a night out in Swansea. But this night out, was a night out like no other. It started in Americano's, ended in Americano's with a huge dose of Americano's in the middle.... Simply, there was no reason to go anywhere else. The Tapas was brilliant (loved the potatas bravas) the beer was perfectly chilled quality beer (none of this Fosters nonsense) and the Live music - just AWSOME!!!! I currently live on the German/ French border so for me to like the food and the beer isn't a small feet.Being able to sit overlooking the waterfront with blankets and then move indoors when it got a little colder just reminded me of being on the Med. (all be it – slightly colder)As with any small intermit venue compromises have been made and I think while the bathrooms are small, they were perfectly adequate (one even being disabled friendly - ideal for my mother)Will I go again? - YESHave I recommended it? - YESI have even signed up to their website so I know what’s going to be playing next time I'm in town :)I'm even going to see if they'll do a small private function for my parent’s 40th Wedding anniversary.

Tapas really did have the right tatse, not at all bland. Sadly the paella was not as good but all other dishes were great. We were there early evening and missed the entertainment but the audience was gathering, so the signs were that it was worth seeing. Staff were attentive and quickly sorted out any niggles (chairs tablespace etc). It was a cool evening and outside the customers had the blankets out, how quaint. Well worth seeking out

The staff were very friendly and accomodating. Lovely pint of San Miguel on draft, and an excellent choice of tapas - can recommend the mussel platter and the chicken nachos. Thoroughly agree with the previous comments on the toilets - 2 unisex toilets are not adequate, and they need more frequent attention to ensure cleanliness. Would definitely return though - love the blankets that were provided for outdoor seating, a lovely touch.

Lovely small bar/restaurant. Had Tapas food which was nice. Live music being played. Then went to the toilet and the whole place was let down. Only 2 toilets, Men and Women using both. Urine on the floor, and no lock on one door, really has put us off going again.

Spanish night tonight with food from @elelittlekitchen I really love the food here. The Rabbit Soup - this was so tasty... 3 large chunky pieces of rabbit, in a lovely flavoured soup with potatoes and carrot. This has a nice rustic taste, just like your gran would have made it. The Costillas ala Cerveza - was divine. This has really strong flavours. I love the potato in this it absorbs all the flavour. I could not order this without the chicken. The Alitas de Pollo did not disappoint.
