Recently moved back to the area and have been here 3 times. This place really is superb and deserves every 5 star review it gets. Freshly cooked fish and great chips and cooked while you wait or by phone order. Sets a very high standard, hence the queues and the phone that never stops ringing. We love it - a real treat.

Food was lovely, my only complaint would be that they never asked if we wanted salt & vinegar. £13.50 for haddock & chips (£8.50) and a battered sausage, curry sauce and a can of pop (£5).

Best fish and chip shop in Seaham bar none. Staff are always friendly and the fish and chips are amazing. Hidden gem. Highly recommended.

We order fish snd chips for delivery nearly every Saturday. The food arrives on time and they are very generous with their portions It’s always hot and delicious We would definitely recommend them. The staff are very friendly and polite

Third time I have had fish and chips from here. Absolutely beautiful again. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. Don’t waste time going to the seafront, these are the best.

We regularly order from Ambleside and we have always been very satisfied. The food is all top quality, the staff are very polite and friendly and it's really good value for money. Delivery service has always been quick and reliable, the delivery driver is a really nice bloke. We wouldn't go anywhere else.

The food from Ambleside is faultless in my opinion and I have never had any Fish and chips as nice ever. Portion sizes are great and the food is what I would class as proper seaside fish and chips with no grease. I would definitely recommend getting a bread bun!! A treat especially for anyone not used to a “stottie” Definitely worth Seeking out if you are in the area and the fact they deliver is brilliant!!

Ordered lunch on Saturday and as usual they were absolutely delicious! Collected from the shop They were ready on time and red hot when we got home! We always share chips as the portion sizes are very generous. The fish was lovely and white and the batter crispy. Welcome back !

Lunchtime today I was again able to have my favourite fish, chips and mushy peas from Ambleside Fisheries. The fish was cooked to perfection with lovely batter around it, well cooked chips and a carton of proper mushy peas. This was all prepared by the friendly, cheerful staff Andrew and Natalie

I go to Ambleside Fisheries once a week for fish and chips. They are always well cooked with the fish being tasty inside a lovely batter and well cooked chips. The fish is always cooked to order and not left standing. Andrew and his staff are always very welcoming and cheery and provide an excellent service.
