Great takaway, good food , but I ordered a beef curry and got hardly any curry sauce , best to ask for extra sauce ... but has been my favourite go to Chinese for the last 15 years .

We are a regular customer. It feels like a new ownership as the food taste different and is not as good as it has been in the past. The delivery was late.

best chinese food in birmingham !!! best flavour better than ming moon 🙂 recommendation remember to ask for your rice extra hot (it’s not actually too spicy it’s just added flavour)

A good decent Chinese not out of this world, but by no means terrible it’s our regular go to for chinese takeaway, prices gone up slightly recently like most places

Great Chinese take away. Food of a high standard. No sit in tables. Food cooked fresh on arrival. Some parking allowed outside but can get busy. Prices reasonable.

Dont bother charged for spare ribs 8 pounds and not there absolute joke then they won't you to got back and pay for them again

Absolutely shocking, used here for years and you've got someone who understand when talking on phone . I've called three times now as my chosen place but weres a bit thin when having to keep repeating myself.

Had food delivered. Everything is too hot to eat. I had mixed meat in creamy black pepper sauce and had to cover it in yoghurt to eat any of it. Had sharing box with curry in which was inedible. Never again!!!

Prices put up yet again and food tastes worse

Terrible service staff are rude thinki its acceptable to deliver food that looked like it had been half eaten fried rice with sweet an sour sauce in the chow main 1/4 of a tub if sweet an sour sauce and half a bag of chicken ball covered in sweet an sour sauce and the bag was all ripped phoned them said they would replace half the order waited 45 minutes it never came so went up the shop got a refund but the ladies attitude was disgusting not even an apology obviously thought it was acceptable to deliver contaminated food of that standard

Awful food should have taken it back throad it in the bin. I'm 77 years old and didn't have the energy to complain.

Loved this Chinese for years but tonight was a step to far, 2 hours delivery and then they blame me for it. No not good enough attitude was terrible over the phone as well!

Found this little ‘gem’ because our usual Chinese takeaway was closed for holidays so I went from reviews to Amber and I’m so glad I did! Food is absolutely delicious. Service is fast and efficient, the price is very competitive too! Amber has a new regular customer!! I’d definitely recommend. We’ve tried quite a few different the dishes from here now and honestly, I’d order them all again without question. Special mention to the honey chicken wings… just wow! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Waited more than an hour for average food

Fantastic Chinese food, thoroughly enjoyed it and would definitely recommend this Chinese restaurant again.

The best local chinese takeaway in Old Hill and the food is always incredibly tasty accompanied by great friendly service 😊

Worst Chinese ever, dry and old tasting

Thought we would have a curry. Worst curry iv had . Tasted like burnt gravey. Will I go again. NO!

If you want to wait 2 hours for par standard food then order here. Or you could collect they will tell you to come down it will be done in 15 minutes, then you pay and they start making your food. I was lied to on the phone and cancelled my order.

Had munchy box delivered, the food was dry and over cooked. The chicken balls were dark brown in colour and rock hard. The salt and chilli chips looked like they had been fe-fryer as again were dark in colour. I’m surprised they sent this out to be honest as the food is usually good from here. Will try someone else next time.

We used to adore the food at Amber's, but over the last few months, we always have something missed off our order, or we get something else, completely different what we've ordered. Tonight's cuisine was stone cold when we got it home (we live a 2 minute commute from Amber's) whatever has happened to this establishment? It's terrible!

So ordered our food at 5pm didn’t arrive after waiting an hour and half called up and apparently they lost the order what sort of clowns are working there? Won’t be ordering again after being a loyal customer for 10+ years

Food is good but I got charged £9.90 for a curry and fried rice when the menu on the counter totaled £7.10. I questioned it and was told the prices had gone up and the menu was out of date.

Best take away 8n the area by a long way. The food quality has been excellent every time. We have been customers for over twenty years

I have used this Chinese for over 20yrs and highly recommend it, it got even better once they also started to deliver also. I would never use another Chinese around the local area 10/10 isn't high enough for how good the food is here.

Waited over an hour for food when arrived, chips cold, sent wrong food. Ordered crispy chicken and pineapple with no pineapple just lots of sweet and sour sauce. Ordered salt and chilli chicken wings and got chicken pieces. Sorry usually good food before but so disappointed tonight and for the money you pay you expect better, sorry

After not going to Amber for over a year (used to be my regular) because the lady accused me of stealing a fried rice when I went back to say it wasn't in the bag, I thought I'd give it a go. what a disaster of a mistake that was!! all I wanted was a chicken omelette, rang up to a rude receptionist taking my order, was told 10 mins, left it 20 as I know they don't do it on time and when I got there it wasn't ready and as usual looks like it was just about to be cooked. when I got it home I was appaled to find the worst chicken omelette in the container, not formed and just liked chicken thrown in a box Well second chance squandered and you will not get my service ever again 😒

Best Chinese I have ever had so now use it sometimes several times a week. Has a good website to place your order which is VERY customisable and they always get it right. Friendly delivery guy. Couple of things that could improve, bring back online payments rather than having to pay cash on delivery or phone to make payment. Speed up New Years Eve delivery or at least give a timescale. We waiting over 3 hours last time. Small things but genuinely this place is epic. Deluxe box is awesome.

This used to be the worst takeaway in the area. It's not anymore; decided to give them a chance after hearing that the food has improved and it has. Dramatically.

Had been advised it would be around 1 hour 20 mins for delivery but ended up waiting nearly 2 and a half hours. Totally appreciate it’s a busy weekend for them however would have appreciated a more realistic timeframe so we had the option to order from elsewhere. If this service was received in a restaurant setting, guests would definitely be expecting a refund!

If you are in no rush for your food then order delivery from here. Food is lovely but was told it would be 40 minutes and took 2 hours. Would only buy from here again if I was collecting it myself.

The food was really nice but the place was crowded, two people now wearing masks including one delivery driver waiting to pick up.

Never ordering from here again me and my partner normally always get our Chinese from here but lately the food has gone down hill. You end up waiting ages for food and they take on too many orders that they can’t cope with. The girl behind the counter is always rude and doesn’t seem to know what she’s doing .We ordered from here the weekend and the next day me and my partner was both ill from undercooked chicken my partner has spend the past 4 days in hospital never again go somewhere else people!!!!!!

we ordered a take away for our family, we were told it would be an hour and a half. After 2hours we called to see where it was and was told it had already left. called 2 more times to then be told they had lost our order could we tell them order again...(an order that had already left) the 3rd call we were told they had delivered it to the wrong address and would we like to order again?! 3hours and 15mins! our kids should of been fed and in bed. we have now had to order elsewhere. looking at reviews we're not the only ones. We won't be ordering from here again.

Munch box this is why I love this place.

First time ordering with Amber and will be the last. After waited 90 mins to be told it would be another 20 mins with no apology. Rang after another 30 minutes to be told another 10 mins again with no apology. Poor service would give no stars but not possible

A word of advice dont bother wasting your money. This was the worst chinese meal iv ever had. Dont usually use this place but my usual one was closed. Never again. The portions are small. The spring rolls have nothing but a paste substance in them. There were a grand total of 7 pieces of chicken in the chicken curry. The sweet and sour chicken balls were awful the batter was chewy! And the chicken was like leather. The chicken foo yeung was as dry as a bone a decent amount of chicken to match the onions but nothing else such as beansprout. The prawn toast was in edible. All this was delivered in 1hr 20 mins despite the quote on ordering of 30-45 mins. To be honest if we weren't so hungry we wouldn't have touched it and the fact it cost £35. Ever since it has not sat rite at all. Overall horrendous

Tried other Chinese takeaways but always go back to this one. Food is lovely, always hot & tasty, delivery is good, driver is always friendly.

Delivery took 1 hour 15 minutes however it was hot I ordered chicken and cashew nuts and it came full of a ton of onions,bamboo shoots and water chestnuts instead of chicken and cashew nuts wasn't full of flavour at all. Wouldn't recommend if you want tasty food.

Food is always decent, the girl on the counter has bad manners tho, never says please or thank you and just dumps your change into your hand

Disgusting ill never order from here again just had my food delivered and I had a plate of chips there was a nasty bug in my food looked like a cricket vile never again

Nasty doesn't look too clean and the food nasty except the chips they just about edible had a meal from there and the food we had mostly went in the bin

As others have pointed out, the accuracy of the orders leaves something to be desired. We ordered a large takeaway in person there and while waiting heard someone call up to complain of a missing item. When we got back home they'd missed something from our order too. We called and they were very apologetic but blamed it on being busy. Sorry, but if you're busy then that's all the more reason to check what you're sending out. That we overheard the same thing happening means this happens a lot at Amber. Pity because the food you do get is very tasty.

Hit and miss , delivery times far too long , when you phone your order through wether it's delivery or collection you have to keep repeating yourself , nothing else around in a decent walking distance .

always had delivery from them but tonite was disappointed in there special trays chip rice and curry sauce there didn't seem to b curry sauce in tray at to make some of my own

Twice I have had a take away from there and twice they've got the order wrong. The food they supplied was nice, but it wasn't what I ordered. I even repeated myself 3 times because they had already got it wron once, she said she understood, but she obviously didn't. I don't think I'll bother again.

Really disapointed. Been hearing such good reviews about Amber so tonight we thought we would try it. Special curry, sauce was nice, it was mostly chicken which was cubed and tough, no beef, 1 prawn and 1 half mushroon. Plenty onion.. Chips were over cooked and hollow which resembles being cook twice. Chicken wings, 2 sorts, were vile. Hard, some burnt and hardly anything on them. The best part was the plain chow mein. That was lovely. Waited hour and ten mins for delivery. Not very warm either which puts me off right away. Marks out of 10....... 1. First and last time we eat from there. J.Hall. Netherton

Very delicious! Went in store, food was freshly made. Order had to be over £10 to use card but they allowed me to place my order whilst I went to withdraw money. Very nice friendly staff. No complaints whatsoever!

Very greasy chow mein , chips were reheated I can only imagine . Yuk sung lettuce was pale and very limp not fresh at all .Expected better after reading reviews . Sorry guys never again .......

Not good. Visited and ordered over the counter, 15 minute wait.. no problem. Still not ready after 20 mins. Ten minutes later and people who had ordered 15 minutes after me are done and dusted. Get home and the rice is barely warm, chicken was cold. Not great, will spend my £25 around the corner at Green Garden next time.

First time using Amber today as I'm really a picky eater and this place was great , friendly staff and food was amazing finally found a Chinese that is worth the money and excellent food will defo be returning x
