Amarone Glasgow in Glasgow City

Can’t fault waitress/front of house staff but food? Ordered same starters mains we regularly enjoy In Edinburgh but starters black pudding received cold, duck pate sloppy and grainy. Then main lasagne devoid of any mince and chicken not great. Not a patch on Edinburgh experience and won’t be back to Glasgow restaurant.

Lunch with two friends today and we stuck a pin in to pick and book this being close to Queen Street station. Very pleasant restaurant to spend a couple of hours in, nice food, and friendly service.

We visited before a night at the OVO Hydro. We were absolutely delighted with everything about Amarone. I couldn't recommend highly enough. Wonderful experience. Make a reservation you won't be disappointed.

Booked this a couple of months ago as we were going to see a show at The Royal Concert Hall after. The food was delicious! Had prawns to start with and Calzone to follow. Highly recommend both. Had profiteroles for dessert, which would have benefitted with a side of cream or ice cream as they were a little dry without that, but delicious all the same. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Will definitely return.

Popped in for a quick lunch, managed to book one and a half hours before we went which was good because it was mother's day. We were told before booking that it was a set menu for that day, the menu was still reasonable , I ordered the Stornoway black pudding, lasagne and garlic bread and a strawberry tart the bread was extra but without that it cost £29.99 great value. Couldn't fault the service and was clean and tidy.

Fabulous food. Relaxing atmosphere and friendly staff. The deserts were fantastic. I thoroughly enjoyed my “plant pot” Tiramisu.

Good value for money, beautiful setting. Delicious truffle pizza! They add 12% to the service… meaning, normally we have a choice!

We visited on a Sunday night but the restaurant was fairly busy. We used the ITISON 3 courses and a cocktail for two people at £49 which was very good value. The drinks, food and service were impeccable. The decor and lighting in Amarone was very classy and I would highly recommend this restaurant if you are visiting Glasgow.

This is my go-to fav place to eat in Glasgow. Been coming here for a few years whenever I'm in town. They carry my favorite cider - Thistly Cross - and their minestrone soup and breads are excellent for a cold evening out. There are plenty of pasta options if that's your thing. And their flatbreads and pizzas are always spot on. A lovely upscale atmosphere with excellent service at a mid-range price. Right around the corner from Queen Station. And on a lovely warm day perfect for outside sitting & people watching.

Excellent Italian. My first time there. Pleasant relaxed atmosphere and the calamari and scallops were both beautifully cooked. Mid range prices - slightly on the high end but worth it. Good, not overly attentive, service. One of the others I was with wanted gluten free and oat milk, both of which were easily catered for.

We had our annual family festive meal yesterday at Amarone. Having visited the Edinburgh restaurant we liked the ambience and the feel of the Glasgow venue. Staff were friendly and attentive and we all agreed our food was lovely and plenty of choice on the menu, one tiny gripe was the service was a little slow but we all agreed we had a great time

Amarone was the perfect restaurant to stop at for a late lunch while in Glasgow. It far exceeded my hopes of finding a good meal! Everything we had was fantastic! The mozzarella and calamari fritta were especially good. We didn't even need a reservation, which was pleasantly surprising considering how busy it was when we arrived. I loved my lemon cocktail, too! A perfect afternoon spent dining and drinking in Scotland!

We had a fantastic experience at this restaurant, and Julia made it even better with her exceptional service. Not only did she ensure our dining experience was smooth, but she also went above and beyond by offering to charge our phones and taking care of our jackets. Her warm and attentive attitude made us feel so welcomed. The food was delicious, and the ambiance was perfect. Highly recommend this place—and be sure to ask for Julia if you visit!

Food is good but had to wait for 20 minutes even though I had a reservation had to stand at the door and couldn’t get a drink till we were seated at the table no area to sit till we got our table!

Great service and great food. We had the pazza pizza and al ragu pappardelle. Which was great. The focaccia as well. The bruschetta could use a bit more spices though. The place itself has just about charm enough.

Food was excellent, very tasty and fresh. Service was such a let down. Starters arrived before drinks, order was incorrect in that two focaccia arrived, no offer of another drink and following our main meal, nobody came to ask if we wanted a sweet. Have been here a handful of times before and service was so much better.

Really nice meal. Table of 8 well looked after by our waitress in a packed-out venue. Star off for desserts which were disappointingly bought-in and def not worth what we paid. Starters and mains were superb - esp the slow-cooked beef cheeks (brasato di manzo) which are highly recommended !!

Pre theatre visit with teens. Great service, choice and tasty food. Good portion and efficient service. We’ll be back.

Family booked a table for my 21st birthday. Food was delicious, great size portions, staff were excellent and put up with my grandad’s terrible jokes. Great service. Busy atmosphere. Lovely evening.

Went for a Christmas catch up with friends and what's not to love about this place, greeted by Ewan the manager and the excellent service just carried on from there, food was fantastic as was the service, warm, friendly and nothing was to much trouble, cannot wait for our next visit

Excellent welcome and service throughout. The food was delivered hot and well presented. Absolutely delicious. Lovely young lady waiting our table took time to explain items on the menu. Great speedy service but we never felt rushed. I will be back!

As a group of friends we have been to Amarone numerous times and always had a great meal. Today was so disappointing. We opted for the set lunch. Two had carbonara which was way too salty and very heavy. One had Casarecce alla Norma which had more pasta than anything else. The chocolate mousse seemed recently out of the freezer and was very cold and dense. The strawberry tart was just ok but very sweet with soggy pastry. We did tell the waiter who was apologetic but that was all. We won’t be back sadly.

Our favourite Italian in Glasgow city centre. What can I say the food, the atmosphere and the service all excellent. We had rosemary focaccia to start with which was absolutely delicious and hot. For the main we had Pollo ala Milanese and such a big piece of chicken with spaghetti absolutely amazing and very filling. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and we can’t wait to come here again!

Disappointed food, smoked salmon is really strange with bad taste and th me linguine pasta with prawn is tasteless, the prawn is not fresh،The only good thing is that the staff is very nice.

We had a voucher to use left over from Christmas so came to Amarone for impromptu date night, the food was great, wine was great, service was good although it was a bit slow on getting mains out. Luckily we weren’t too hungry so enjoyed wine & atmosphere while we waited. Would definitely return. Not the cheapest restaurant but I would say the food is worth it. I had the caprese salad followed by prawn pasta.

Estuve en este restaurante un par de veces y siempre me pareció agradable. Esta vez sentí que la noche se había echado a perder debido a la falta de personal. La comida era buena como de costumbre y el personal que estaba allí trabajó sus calcetines, pero no había suficiente de ellos. Desde entrar en el restaurante hasta recibir nuestros entrantes fue de 50 minutos más. Nuestro plato principal fue apresuradamente puesto y no hay oferta de condimentos, parmesano, etc próxima y al final tuvo que llamar al personal y pedir nuestra factura después de esperar un poco.

It is a nice spot in the middle of Glasgow and you can catch some sun outside. As I am not eating gluten I ordered a glutenfree pasta carbonara. The service was very friendly and I got some fusilli with something like a dry sauce hollandaise, not a glimpse of an eggtaste but instead extremely crunchy pieces of bacon, so that I was not sure which chemical treatments they had ........ I was hungry and ate it all. In the following night my stomach was revolting ........

Dined outside in the sun here last weekend. We had pizza which was great... perhaps a little dry and skimped on the topping but still tasty. The staff were attentive and the atmosphere was friendly.

Lovely warm atmosphere in stylish surroundings. Went for dinner and had really good food. Attentive and friendly service from Julia R. The Primitivo di Puglia red wine was great and the Hugo cocktail delicious. Would definitely go back next time am in Glasgow.

The food was lovely, with perfectly cooked pasta and tasty sauces. The service was extremely fast and front of house was very welcoming. Amarone’s location is perfect, being in the centre of town right off George Square. Would definitely recommend. We didn’t get the best seat, with the waiter pacing around right next to us, the bill was a little pricey as well, especially with a service fee added, those are the only reasons for not awarding all five stars.

What a great find in Glasgow and with the help of Trip Advisor reviews. The staff were pleasant, friendly and attentive and food was very hot and tasty. We both had pizza's for our mains and tried the duck pate and a focaccia style starter. Offered was a lunch and pre-theatre 2 course menu from £18.95. The food was delicious.

We ate pizza, it was delicious, the rose wine was also good, we ate anchovy fish in Caesar salad here for the first time.

Went to Amarone for birthday dinner on Sat eve. Food very disappointing. Scallops in the Linguini were overcooked and sauce mediocre, same with the vongole, mediocre. At £26 for my main course and a total bill of £136 this is way overpriced. All too common in Glasgow at the moment. Mgt

Really nice meal. Lots of great vegan options. The bruschetta was delicious! All the food was great (I was with family who ate meat and they all enjoyed their dishes). Service was friendly and attentive. The restaurant did get quiet around 8:30/9pm which I didn't expect but I suppose in the city centre people maybe were heading out!

VERY BAD SERVICE the waitress was very rude and racist we called her more than 3 times and didn’t answer is she also was asking all the tables and looking over them except for ours there was a white man sitting next to us and he called her with a quiet voice and she answered him when we came to pay she only paid attention to us. But the food was great

A tourist trap on Buchanan Street. Ordered bruschetta, bread was soggy not grilled, minestrone was too acidic and lacked flavour, veal scallopini was tough and the calamari, nothing to get excited by. The side of potatoes was greasy. Not much to recommend. We sat inside and it was very noisy. The whole experience cost £63

I recently dined at this restaurant twice with my partner, and I must say, we both were thoroughly impressed! The service was impeccable, with attentive staff who made us feel welcome and well taken care of. The food was simply outstanding. We started with the calamari fritti, and it was probably the best we’ve ever had—crispy, tender, and full of flavor. My partner couldn’t stop raving about the Casarecce Pollo pesto, which was rich, creamy, and perfectly seasoned. This place has quickly become one of our favorites, and we can't wait to return!

Absolutely fantastic meal. Had the sword fish steak. The flavours were simply amazing. The ambiance was chilled and the general feel was warm and welcoming.

The staff couldn't have been nicer but the food was a big disappointment! I ordered from the lunch menu and had the king prawns to start. The flavour was okay but they were sitting on a bed of soggy crostino. Not good value for the extra £2 supplement. My main course was the chicken with mozzarella & ham, salad and rustic chips. The small strip of chicken was bland and the rustic chips were cut so thinly their taste resembled chunky crisps. Thankfully, my latte was delicious as my meal was not!

Just arrived hoping to sit outside with my family for a lovely evening meal & wine. On arrival spotted an ideal table not under the canopy I asked the v sullen dyed red pink /hair girl to sit there in the sun. I was v bluntly told in a v sneering manner " the sun's away "????? What the actual I had noticed the last time we came for food her attitude was off blunt & rude This time tonight no we will spend our hard earned money eating somewhere where we do not experience her absolutely downright awful awful service. Never again 😣

The food isn’t that good and the portion is not much the atmosphere outside is so bad and the service was so slow the menu isn’t clear and the food was cold and to declare they weren’t busy I don’t recommend we came here depending on Google reviews but it wasn’t pleasing

We booked Amarone on recommendations from people in the team and we were not disappointed. The food and service were fantastic. Not a single person had a complaint about their meal or drinks etc. Will definitely return.

Arrived without a reservation, but got a table without any trouble on a Tuesday night. Service can sometimes be a bit slow, but you can't fault the food. Mid-price and good value for money. AND they do a pre-theatre menu which is excellent value.

I cannot believe I've never left a review here. I ADORE this place. I was starving when I stumbled upon it and actually intended to go to Chaophraya next door. We ordered bread to start and when we went to order a bottle of wine, a server stopped to discuss it with us. We told him our intended pasta orders and he made a recommendation. In total, we got: A bottle of wine Bread and butter Two pasta dishes One Creme Brûlée One Tiramisu I believe our total was around 110 euros. We had the most lovely experience. We sat outside and I think we dined for nearly two hours. It was lovely. I cannot wait to return when I go back to Glasgow.

Good dinner. Starters were very good. The mushrooms on the pizza felt very cheap, sad for what otherwise was a great pizza. Service was okay but felt somewhat lazy.

Food was decent, but the service was incredibly poor. People seemed annoyed by us visiting, and for this service they squeezed in a 10% tip without notice.

Menu has changed, food choice not as good. We were sitting towards a door area where staff went out for cigarette breaks. The smell of smoke came back into the restaurant, not very pleasant or professional. Sorry Amarone, but standards have slipped.

went here with friends and family to celebrate turning 50. They gave us a time slot choice and said we had 2 hours. we were there for longer, they kept bringing the drinks, also facilitated our needs by allowing balloons and birthday banners. the food food was lovely and the service was on point. great venue for a celebration

Absolutely great food. I wanted to taste pizza and at the same time I had a taste for pasta. So we had pizza as an appetizer and pasta with chorizo ​​and carbonara sauce as the second course. I haven't had such good Neapolitan pizza even in Milan. I warmly recommend.

Having a mother and daughter day out. Booked a table here for the first and I have to say we were not disappointed. The food was delicious, the service outstanding. The only slight blip was the fat obnoxious git and his leather skinned lady companion plus his mini me sidekick and his companion. I did not see the first act but my daughter did. It began with them (especially the fat mouthpiece) were not happy with the table they were allocated. He demanded another table to which the obliging waiting staff gave them. They ordered their food and drink. When it arrived the second act began. Fat boy shouting for maximum effect refused the food stating it was all wrong and slipping in to the tirade he wanted a discount. I could go on about them but they are not worth the effort. I do hope they paid their bill but I have a hunch it was probably a battle to get the money out of them. I personally would have called the police pretty much at the beginning of Fat Boys verbal abuse. I do hope they will be barred from this wonderful establishment who do not need unworthy scum such as these four. Again. I must stress the restaurant staff, service and food were brilliant. Thank you all.

I've now tried Amarone in Edinburgh and Glasgow, but i felt Edinburgh edges it. My duck pate was a little bland, under seasoned, and the gnocchetti was not as good as my last visit. That said, the rest of my table thoroughly enjoyed their selections. The wine selection was as fantastic as ever.

This is the first restaurant I have visited. To be honest, the food is delicious and the staff are nice. I recommend it ❤️‍🔥✨

Stopped by for lunch with my little daughter. We sat outside on the terrace, enjoying the lovely food and service. Andràs took great care of us, we'll definitely be back!

We like to take a sunny lunch outside if we're in Glasgow shopping and Amarone is one of our top choices. Really cheerful, friendly and accommodating staff. The dishes are well prepared and inventive, pizza nice and thin, and the wine list by the glass is pretty good. Some good ones by the bottle if you're taking a bigger meal.

Food and drink are worth it. Defo worth visiting regardless of whether its with friends, colleagues, family or a date.

Good choice of food on the menu and it was all delicious. It's situated in the city centre so very close to bus and railway stations.

Delicious Neapolitan style pizza!

Excellent food, highly recommend the Pomodoro - it was delicious. Service was fast and attentive, not in your face but enough that I was in and out after a drink and Pomodoro in under an hour. I swear, I'd barely ordered and it arrived what felt like minutes later. Lovely little restaurant.

Lovely Italian restaurant in a brilliant part of the city. The presentation of the dishes was well thought out and elegant but the execution of taste was not good enough. Under-seasoned dishes and no option of salt on the table, only pepper. The scallop dish was twice as expensive but it didn't hit the spot. The sundried tomatoes in the dish were perfect but it couldn't bring it up to excellence. The pasta itself was cooked spot on so the chef does know what they are doing but they didn't taste the food before it went out. The pizza was good but nothing to tell your mum about.
