Lovely little diner and food was fab

What i can say? I have found that italian restaurant from instagram when i was looking for a dinner at christmas in Glasgow.Staff was really helpfull at everything.Ambiente just like i was in a small restaurant in italy.Food was perfect so tasty just like the mom have cooked for christmas.If i ever come again in Glasgow it would be my first option.

Really good, I have been loads for breakfast and coffee over the years but this was my first visit in the evening. Our food was lovely and the service was great, give it a go...we loved it. Paul

Had a nice night with my partner. The wine selection was limited but the quality of the wine was lovely! Beer was a little on the warm side. The food was lovely. The Pollo Funghi was great and the Rosemary Foccacia was great. The bolognese tasted a little strange, but was okay! Overall, the service was great and the staff were all lovely. We’ll certainly try more of their menu!

I had the sea bass - absolutely delicious meal, generous portion. Busy, but great service nevertheless. Very reasonable bill.

Seriously tasty pizza and garlic bread to die for, ordered and picked up within 15 minutes, for a decent price. Lovely service. Highly recommend!

The ravioli and the arrabbiata were divine and took us out of scotland and straight to italy.. fresh and authentic!

Traditional compact (so may have to book ahead) Italian 'restoranti" which is a real Southside gem - it's run by a lovely family with nothing being too much trouble yet it's fuss free. Licensed and with a terrific pizza oven, proper non-barista coffee and a wide selection of cake - take your mum, boss,, girlfriend and/or wife - you,'ll not be disappointed. July 2024 update - new menu, new members of staff added - but still bellisima - come here for a superb breakfast, a delicious lunch, or relaxing dinner - believe me, you'll love it. The original "go to" southside eatery for fastidious foodies - come in and eat the feel the "amore" 😊

Fantastic service, food and atmosphere. Have always loved this wee gem of a restaurant and it continues to maintain such a high quality of service in every way. The food is quickly prepared whilst authentic and delicious in flavour, The staff are amazing!! They all seem to be happy and enjoying their job which was is so refreshing and adds to the fabulous ambiance of the restaurant. Great Place.

Popped in for a quick Sunday brunch. Despite being closer to lunchtime than breakfast there was no quibble when I asked for just a roll and scrambled egg with coffee. When these arrived they were both quite delicious and I was set up for the day. Many thanks for great service.

Lovely food with gluten free option.

Delicious food (we had mussels to start (so tasty!), pizza, pasta) reasonably priced. Wine was really tasty too. Service was great and the chefs and waitresses very friendly. Delighted they could squeeze us in as it was almost fully booked already at 5.45pm - though it was a Saturday evening! It's a compact little restaurant but you don't feel like you're too squashed.

This was recommended to us by locals when we asked where we could eat after an event we’d attended so we made a last minute reservation on Sunday evening. The restaurant was very quiet but they were doing a brisk trade in take away. The food was excellent, hot, fresh and very tasty. The meatball starter was delicious as was the pasta amatriciana. The Milano pizza was great too and there were very good cannoli for dessert. The waiter was friendly and helpful and we enjoyed our visit.

Popped in for a quick meal with my family and it was absolutely lovely. Lovely and super friendly staff, the food was so delicious, nice and warm atmosphere. Finished my meal with stunning Tiramisu! Highly recommend and I wanna be back! Well done to every one there !

Wasn't impressed with the order. The sauce was watery & pasta was overcooked. It wasn't as if they didn't have the time as the restaurant was quiet at the time. I also found the gentleman waiting our table to be very cheeky with certain comments made.

Lovely lunch. Hot, fresh and tasty. Staff lovely. Would go back there. Just a little chilly for me personally but didn't spoil visit.

Food is always fantastic, as is the service. The decor however is dated.

A brilliant restaurant. Speedy, friendly service and quick delivery of food for a fair price. Pizzas are incredible, gf pasta options available and great to see salads as mains (I had the king prawn salad after bagging up on starters). Quite a tight fit, but split level dining areas with a step up so maybe call ahead if you have mobility needs so they can make sure there's adequate space for entry and seating so it's hassle free for you. They also respond to FB messages promptly for last min bookings on the hop.

Great food, nice ambience, great service

This for me is the best Italian restaurant in Glasgow. I’ve tried Bar Vini, Sugo, and Oro and they can’t hold a candle to this place. The pasta, the wine, the breakfast and the coffee are always fantastic. I’ve never been disappointed and they are definitely the most reasonably priced. The staff are always lovely as well. Keep doing what you are doing!

Buongiorno is always the most beautiful food with service to match. Tonight we were served by Phillipe, who served us with such passion and joy. True Italian service with pride in what they do, and they do it amazingly. In an age where people order food without any human interaction, it’s service like this that proves that the real experience will always reign supreme. Thank you a lovely night.

A chance walk in for early dinner, we had a gorgeous bottle of Italian Merlot, with two tasty pizzas, perfect ♥️ we did have dessert too even though we didn't really need them! Staff were welcoming, the atmosphere was lovely and we didn't feel rushed, all in all a great evening thanks, we will be back.

Food here is so tasty and great value for money. Edit - After 7 years I've had to take a couple of stars off this review. I've really been dissapointed with the quality of the pasta dishes the last couple of years. Pizza is still great though.

Beautiful, authentic Italian food cooked by people who clearly love what they do and make you feel really welcome. Will definitely be back.

As someone who's been coming to Buongiorno for years, I can say with confidence that their homemade ciabatta sandwiches (lunchtime menu only) are very nice and very good value for money, the coffee is the real deal, and the staff are very pleasant. Their pasta dishes are also great. The only 2 letdowns are the pizzas – underwhelming and unadventurous – and the presentation of the place. It could look a bit cheerier and more inviting, but I can see how some people might find charm in it. All in all, still a great wee place if you pick the right dishes.

Fantastic restaurant. Very busy when we arrived but service was fantastic. Very friendly staff. Our was order was taken and food received quickly despite the restaurant being full. Delicious meals, we had the pork medallions, pollo finghi, pizza Liguria, risotto seafood marinara, lasagne and a children's pizza. All were delicious and good portions. Desserts we also very good. This was our first time but we'll definitely be back.

havent had pizza, pasta lately so glad for warm , friendly welcome. had goats cheese onion one with mushroom penne, delish.. had two scoop hazelnut ice with menabrea to wash down before the game. will def before back for the final..😘

Delicious food and top class service in this atmospheric family run restaurant. Highly recommended.

Attended here 19/11/22 for a birthday meal and it was the worst experience we’ve had in a restaurant. We’re in most Saturdays as a table of as this place is usually our favourite restaurant and chose it as a birthday meal. The service was absolutely shocking didn’t even get a meal, paid for drinks that we waited half an hour for and had to leave and go elsewhere. We’ll seen the mother and son weren’t working as they are the only people who know what they’re doing.

Amazing food, fantastic service from everyone but special mention to Carlo! First time eating in after having a number of takeaways during lockdown - safe to say we'll be back soon. HIGHLY recommend the Norcina, but everything we ordered (and there was a lot) was delicious.

Went here for a birthday lunch, the food was delicious and affordable. The staff were lovely and very helpful. Would recommend.

Popped in to today at lunchtime. Staff were friendly, and venue was clean, tidy and well organised. Soup and Fish and Chips were both delicious and great value. Would be happy to go back for Lunch or evening meal.

Minestrone soup was the best I've ever tasted. Chicken in a white wine sauce. Perfect! Great value. Will return!

Been before, so I knew that the food was very good. Small restaurant with a good variety of pasta dishes, rissottos, pizzas plus more. Staff were very attentive to our needs. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal all four of us. Go back again.

4 of us had a main course & pudding each, 2 draught pints, 2 bottles of peroni & bottle of wine. Worked out at £25 a head. Great value. Staff are great also. And the food is absolutely fantastic.

Exquisite tasting food delicious selection on lunch menu or for fussy eaters options were no problem. A great experience for your palate, worth a visit when in southside .

Best chicken Milanese in Glasgow!

Wanted to love it unfornately my lasagne was cold and swimming in liquids which put me off. The chips were delish and freshly cooked and so was the garlic bread. I will try again but wouldnt reccomend the lasagne.

As a former visitor to Shawlands, it was my first time in this restaurant! It's a small place, but very busy! The food was lovely and my friend truly loved the lasagne. Staff were lovely! I'd book to ensure you get a table and experience this wee gem!!

Come on, who doesn't like Italian like 'your mama' never made (unless she was Italian; of course)? The dinning area is beutifull, bijou and chic, the staff are 7 shades of wonderful, the food is bellissima and the coffee is as coffee should be (the best Italian this side of Napoli). Verdict? Come here to pig out on perfect pasta - drink with friends, dine with the family, have a romantic night with your SO - you'll come back time and time again. Visit Buongiorno for a good day and make it great - popular especially in the evenings and during the weekend be a "wise guy" and book ahead. Come on - be treat yourself and your family - enjoy a bit of 'la dolce vida' - better yet - you don't need to be rich as the Godfather to eat here. Ciao.

Friendly staff, clean place and good selection of food at reasonable prices. Enjoyed lunch there with friends. Would recommend and return.

Love the food, I had pesto chicken with oven roasted veg /potatoes, just a fantastic meal the sauce was tremendous, the veg were fresh and not frozen, and also wee bit of salad, it was perfect. Partner had the aglio olio, which he’s addicted to, and will never order anything else. Also lovely wait staff. Thanks buongiourno 👏

This is the best Macaroni Cheese in Glasgow IMO! The Pizzas and the truffle fries will blow your mind. Value for money is incredible as is the friendly atmosphere, can't wait til next time 🙌

Lived in Shawlands for 16 years and i had never been to this place... Ohhh, i was missing such amazing food, i've been back about 3 times already. Lovely staff, good portions, extremely tasty food. I highly recommend. UPDATE JAN 22 - As I remember and the food tasted even better.

We ordered way too much food the tapas would have been enough for the two of us. Carbonara pasta and seafood dish was great! Staff were lovely. Small cosy family run restaurant. Will definitely come back.

We had a very nice pre theatre dinner. The food was lovely and the gentleman serving us was a great host and very amusing. We will definitely go back. Not wonderful for wheelchair users but they did their best to accommodate me and we managed fine. Thank you Buongiorno.

The Marinara pasta is really good!

By far the worst lasagna I have ever eaten. Couldn't be more disappointed - so bad that after one bite I placed another order at another restaurant. Waste of time, money and ingredients. I really expected a nice Italian pasta dish after all the good reviews and photos of some great looking lasagna, but this is worse than the cheapest microwave lasagna from any supermarket :(

So me and the Mrs had a big weekend and decided to order from here on Sunday. Ordering through just eat, our first order never arrived, phoned the restaurant after an hour and a half but as an ex delivery driver I know it's not their fault. After speaking to just eat and getting a refund and money off the next order, we placed the same 1 again, only for it to be cancelled not long after. 3 hours in we placed the order again but thanks to the restaurant and not just eat, we got a fantastic meal with lots of extras. I can't praise their manager enough, I totally understand they use an external delivery service but they went above and beyond, thank you so much. X

So far visited 3 times and everything was always amazing. Tried minestrone, beans and Italian sausage, pizza, carbonara, lasagne and tiramissu. Everything was just gorgeous. The menu is smaller which means that most of the ingredients are fresh (and it makes the food even better). The staff is lovely. You can tell that they get along really well and they are really good with customers. Thank you for looking after us

We got 2 takeaway pizzas from here. They were ready nice and quick and we got them hot and fresh out of the oven. We'll have to try eating in next time!

An extensive menu. But we chose the Italian tapas menu. We had 6 different small dishes. Splendid quality at reasonable prices. The House White was VG too.

This restaurant has been on the go for over 40 years and it consistently shows why. If you're game for an intimate, friendly and familial experience; this little bistro is right up your street. The dessert menu has to be tried - thrice. Will be back!

Was here last week with a friend. Food was very tasty, recommend the pesto chicken pasta dish. Reasonably priced too. Ordered too much had to get some packed to take away which the staff was happy to do. Will be back.

I ordered tonight and asked for both to be penne, followed up with a phone call to be 100% as my boy doesnt like spagetti. Bolognase came with spagetti 😥 food was lovely but bolognase ended up in the bin and we shared mines. Shame.

Food was great and the staff were always welcoming. I heard they were bought over by someone else. I will need to return!

Lovely family place, great atmosphere and nothing is too much trouble for them. Whether its mum going in every day for her coffee hit, us both at the weekend or the family in for something to eat. The menu is impossible to pick from because everything is so awesome and the service is friendly and quick. All in, brilliant place to go.

First time visit, coffee and cake excellent. Food looks great so we will be back. Also first class service.
