Good choice of lagers, great bar staff, good Sunday lunch

Called in for a birthday party in the private room. Drinks were reasonable and staff were friendly and helpful.

We all had a great time here,, the bar staff were brilliant,,I ordered a cocktail and not quite sure how to make it ,, ((she ask me what's in it.)) It was perfect .. lovely room for any celebration..

Friendly service, carvery at a standard price and size. I will definitely visit this place again.

Friendly enough but if paying by card there's a fee of 10 Bob for drinks costing less the (12 or 15 pounds) .I left my card behind the bar,no problems at all,safe....

We stopped off for a drink on a disastrous journey North (blocked A1 etc). The staff and customers were really friendly and the loos were really clean. It was a highlight of a nine hour car journey. Thank you!

As a local I love this pub, good drinks and loads of banter, great place to drink.

Had my daughters 21st party there. The room was outstanding, the staff were great. I would definitely recommend it to other people. The only problem we had was the DJ we did our own playlist for him but he was just playing his own, kept asking him to play ours which he did then went back to his music. A big thank you for the perfect room and lovely staff

Had my dad's 80th here yesterday n wow ..what an amazing place ..warm and friendly staff that can't do enough for you .we went the night before to decorate n mags the landlady went above and beyond to help us when we were struggling...dad wanted a carvery and they pulled out all stops there too ....thankyou for making my dad's day special ..already booking mums next year xx

Good choice of beer. Friendly staff and customers. Sunday dinner was really really nice. Just a shame they got rid of the park they use to have in the back.

Had my grandsons first birthday party in the restaurant room and it was fabulous nothing was to much trouble decorations and room set up amazing and a fantastic buffet provided cant recommend enough massive thankyou to Mags for making it a special day for us all.

Nice place to sit and relax and it was good seeing good friends there and the bar staff were very nice .

Went for the carvery and enjoyed the food, the meat was cooked lovely and there was a wide variety of vegetables to choose from. Atmosphere was nice and friendly all in all a good experience with lovely food and will definitely be back again.

Happy friendly staff nice atmosphere haven't tried the Sunday carvery yet but will definitely be back to give it a go

We are camping in the area and went for a walk with our dog. We spotted this pub with outside seating and popped in for a drink. The landlady was very friendly and came out with some treats for our dog. She mentioned that well behaved dog on leads are also welcome inside the pub. We will definitely be going back. Thanks

Called in for Sunday lunch and it was brilliant. Hot plates (lovely touch) beautiful meat, a fantastic selection of vegetables and great value for money. We will be back for more.

We arrived as strangers, left as friends. What a lovely warm welcome from Dawn and the regulars! The Alverley is a real local. We were there on a Monday : the pub kitchen isn’t open but customers are very welcome to get a takeaway from the place nearby and eat in the pub. Very warm and comfortable, loads of treats for our dogs - this pub is a real find!

Very nice decor and friendly atmosphere. Had Sunday lunch and it was fabulous, lovely homemade cooking lots to eat and very tasty. Even have little doggy boxes filled with meat ends you can ask for to take home.

100% fantastic took four friends and we all thought the same a great meal and a brilliant atmosphere. Will go again.

Wanted to go for a sunday dinner, had been recommended to try the Alverley and wasn't at all disappointed! The beef was cooked to perfection! Staff were ever so friendly and you could not beat the price! Will definitely be back!

Just been for a Sunday carvery here and it is by far the best one I've had in Doncaster in a long time! The meat was absolutely amazing, so tender and extremely flavoured. All the veg and potatoes were beautiful too! Don't usually leave reviews but all of us who went were extremely impressed with the quality and amount of food you get here. Great service too, super friendly staff!

Had my son’s 21st Birthday party there on Saturday 7th September 2019. We could have asked for more, the food was lovely, the room was decorated beautifully and the staff did everything in their power to make sure we had a great night. Thank you so much, you made it a special night.

This has to be the best pub in Doncaster. The landlord is such a nice guy always willing and welcoming to people using his bar. The way he treats everyone you would think you had known him for years. A fantastic place with equally fantastic food. First time I have been in it will not be the last.

Wasn't in long but looked nice and staff friendly. Unfortunately like most locals, beer expensive compared to big brand town center pubs...a real shame.

Bit of a que but we'll worth the wait, lots of veg to choose from and 3 meats, cooked to perfection.

We had our ruby wedding anniversary at the alverley Saturday night everything was perfect many thanks to mags and Ian for the buffet and disco would recommend the alverley as a venue for any celebration

New landlords, prospect looks better than previous. New Sunday carvery is really nice and busy with new customers. The lounge has been recently be decorated and big screen tv with new sofas. Worth going again to sample the Sunday carvery

Food ok but service shocking!! Had our main so decided to order desserts when they arrived they looked very poor also no spoons with the deserts we asked one of the staff for spoons who brought a coffee spoon and when asked another one rolled their eyes at my wife! Customer service not meant for this girl...ordered the homemade apple crumble which didn't come with our desserts it's arrived 8 minutes later with which could only be described as a water-like substance i.e. custard plus was cold.we did get our money back for the dessert with no apology would not go again or recommend.
