All Saints Kings Heath in Birmingham

Contrary to the other review, this is NOT a family run café; it's run by volunteers from All Saints Church, across the square. Its kitchen is being enlarged soon (in September 2024). It offers hot+cold food+snacks+drinks – but so far doesn't offer gluten-free etc; perhaps it will when the kitchen is enlarged. There's live music on Friday evenings 7-9pm (unplugged) & many thing going on there all week.

I went there for the music that's on Friday evenings at 7-9pm (but I gather that in Aug there's usually a break from the music being on). The café is much smaller than it used to be, as it's been altered – very cosy & friendly & they do their best to buy-in in what drinks you'd like to have. (I didn't eat there as I have to keep to diet free from gluten, soya & dairy, which I don't expect places to be able to cater for unless they're huge.) The music's not amplified, so it's not too loud & the audience are used to keeping quiet while songs are being sung & just talking briefly in-between songs & a bit longer in the interval. The room's acoustics are wonderful. Also the ladies' loos are very nice.

Fuimos a la próxima noche musical de Navidad, diciembre de 2018. Había un buffet que era 6 / cabeza y la comida habitual no estaba en absoluto (o al menos el personal pensó que no estaba, no estaba seguro, entonces no ofreció nada fuera del menú). Nada parecía ser vegetariano o sin gluten en el buffet (aparte de rodajas de tomate o pepino). Decepcionante no comienza a cubrirlo. Había música en vivo, pero eso no justifica la repentina falta de menú habitual. Vende alcohol en botellas, al menos a un precio razonable y todavía estaba disponible.

Durante el bullicio y ajetreo de Navidad, este café era un rincón tranquilo de paz y satisfacción. Mucho espacio, una buena vista sobre la plaza del pueblo y un agradable y sonriente personal amable. Es bueno tener un lugar que parece un escondite secreto en el medio de una calle concurrida. Tomamos un café y el Irish Stew, ambos llenos de sabor y servimos en un ambiente relajado. Bien hecho al personal.

Es un hotel gestionado por una familia café con algunos deliciosos pasteles en oferta y una gran variedad de deliciosos platos. Ambiente muy agradable, muy acogedor para familias y niños. En una tranquila plaza por la calle que le da un aire tranquilo y asientos al aire libre. Alberga un miércoles por la tarde club español.
