Albert's Schenke in Liverpool

We had a lovely meal here yet again last Monday this establishment just keeps on giving the Scouse Croquettes where delicious well with having. Also the Scouse for main meal with red cabbage 😉. It was lovely to see Dorrie a waitress full of personality and the new lady called Aimee you have a good teacher there. A good drink to have is the Aperol Spritz best in town 🥂

Lovely visit to a stunning venue on the corner of Hanover st - great location close to Liverpool ONE. Staff were so friendly and welcoming from the lovely bar staff, to Dory and the fantastic manager Ste who really went above and beyond. Food was delicious and the happy hour cocktails were perfect! Would highly recommend to dine or just to enjoy drinks in a lovely atmosphere - thank you!

WOW! A superb meal! Probably the best German food we've had and we've been to Germany many times. Dorrie was our host. She was polite and served us efficiently. I can not rave enough about this place. 6 out of 5 stars.

Very rude staff refused to serve food after I had sat down and waited for half hour. Was told no kitchen staff yet other customers had food who did not have children.

The quality of the food, service and atmosphere were all excellent. Our server was very knowledgeable and helpful. We had the 3 beer flight and let our server choose for us. She came with an excellent variety which we really enjoyed. The food was really good especially the two different sausage plates. We all had the Apple strudel which was delicious. Finally we had hot drinks including two hot chocolates served with cream and marshmallows, well worth it! Highly recommend

Took the family out Christmas shopping and as a surprise, booked us in for a Festive meal. We have been to Albert's prior to this visit, so knew the food would be good. On this occasion, the place was busy, a lovely bunch around the bar area, however the restaurant side was busy, but not so noisy. We were greeted by a very pleasant staff, given a comfortable table, with plenty of room for our bags. We had pre ordered our Festive Meals, so ordered drinks and sat chatting. Our server Ella C, was amazing, nothing was too much trouble, she was pleasant, attentive, and went above and beyond..... as I can only drink non alcoholic drinks, she made my cranberry and soda into a special Christmas looking cocktail drink with fresh fruit, and a small extra side of fresh fruit! It was such a lovely treat! The meal was wonderful, the food was as described, festive, plentiful and we'll presented. Christmas crackers and a fab atmosphere added to the Christmas festivities. This place never disappoints! Thank you Albert's, and a huge thank you to Ella C.

When we arrived we were told to wait 5 minutes for a table, which was confusing due to the restaurant not being overly busy. After we waited we sat down and ordered 2 currywurst and a tea. The currywurst was nice but the curry ketchup made it nicer. Tea was nice to. Very warm restaurant also which was lovely due to the day being cold and damp.

Visited this beer house for a couple of drinks with friends. Everything was very nicely Christmas decorated. The atmosphere is great, staff so gentle and polite. A fabulous fireplace in the middle of a big table. I could not find anything wrong in this place. Will definitely try the food next time. Strongly recommended!

Is it a bar or a restaurant? It was very busy, very noisy. Struggled to hear what others at the table were saying because of music from the bar area. Starters took 50 minutes, surprised at that because we had to pre-order and pay sizeable deposit up front. Food was OK. It's seems popular with a younger clientele. Might return at a quieter time.

We were looked after well by our waitress. We went during happy hour - not realising till we sat down - so our beer was good value and tasted good. Food was enjoyed by all except that my grain salad when it arrived looked quite small for the price. As we were going home by train and did not want to miss it I did not complain. On checking the menu online when I returned home I found that although i had the roasted broccoli the butternut squash had been missed off my plate. There did not seem to be any hazelnuts in with the grains and the lime and sumac dressing was either not there or has been applied very scantily. I had to make myself a piece of toast on my return home still being hungry. My friends all had meat and the portions were quite generous. The fat on the pork could have been crisper some of it being quite soft. Overall a good experience.

The atmosphere was really nice and there’s a good selection of beers. Only marked down as the food wasn’t the greatest, it was nice but I expected really great. Haus curry wasn’t really flavoursome and halloumi fritters way too chunky and greasy with too much batter. Generally really nice visit and would go again.

In this place 09/11/23 approx 16:30/17:00. Thought I had seen it all but no! I sat and witnessed a customer bring in a small dog and sit it in a chair at a table🙈the dog was eating treats and drinking water from the table top very hygienic! I witnessed staff stroking the ever so cute poodle and kept on with their duties ie pulling pints and taking orders without washing their hands, pretty disgusting really. I don’t know if they cleaned the table or the chair when the poodle left as I had seen enough by now and went elsewhere. I have nothing against dogs in pubs/eateries as I spend a lot of time in the lakes and see it all the time but sitting in a chair at a table eating off it really !

Absolutely lovely food and friendly service. Would recommend caramel sea salt ice cream. Will definitely return soon !!

Been a few times and the food is always amazing, such fresh food and loads of flavours. We tried the new menu and yet again amazing dishes, I had ribs and steak. The atmosphere is so nice and the service was brilliant too.

Picked this location while visiting Liverpool with other Canadians and some British friends. Not disappointed. Staff were amazing and the Sunday roast options were enjoyed by all, including vegetarians. Very impressed. Will be back again on our next visit for sure.

Albert’s Schenke is easily one of my favourite restaurants in Liverpool City Centre. The food is absolutely phenomenal! The beer selection is particularly large and all of the beers I have tried have all been very good. Would definitely recommend this restaurant for a visit.

Returned here as a family for a Fathers Day Sunday lunch, 6 of us in total. Once again excellent service, surroundings, food and drink. 3 of our party are vegetarians and obviously chose this option on the menu and were suitably impressed.
