Albero Lounge in Bedford

I stayed here for two nights in late September. Quirky, vibrant and beautifully appointed rooms (mine overlooked the river), the Albero is also 'equipped' with SENSATIONAL customer service. I am an old boomer and thus I get a tad forgetful; especially after some ale. I left my trousers in the wardrobe in my room. I spoke to a charming lady who said she would nip upstairs and see if they were still there. They were and she would would post them back to me. I offered to pay the postage but she politely declined my offer. This is exceptional customer service and I am pleased to say they arrived today. Thank you - most genuinely. They even came with a free burger voucher - result...as you Gen Z would say...

We popped in for some drinks and a bit to eat. The cold drinks and the hot drinks were delivered about 15 minutes apart. The coffee was weak and warm, not hot. Their garlic and parmesan fries were swimming in oil, no flavour and undercooked. The location and inside is lovely, the service slow (staff were however friendly) and food substandard. Try another cafe.

Sunday brunch eaten here plus a few chats with some dogs and their owners as it's a dog-friendly restaurant. Food was good, well cooked and tasty. Will come back, the general ambience and setting with high, airy ceilings and two levels is enjoyable and the prices are reasonable.

Lovely place for a quiet drink or some yummy food , snacks , meet ups Perfect spot to a nice evening out with the river illuminated. Great service thanks

I ordered a egg Benedict ( salmon ) and it was cooked to perfection and staff were pleasant, cheerful and good sense of humour I would definitely go back

A bit on the pricier side however it is nice to go to on an occasion. The atmosphere is amazing and the staff are very accommodating!

Popped in for a quick brunch as we were in need of a place that offered gluten free options and we are so glad this place came up first! A huge menu offering loads of fab dishes, breakfast, brunch, burgers, flatbread, the list goes on! Most items were available gluten free too which was great as my partner is coeliac. Staff were great, very friendly and helpful. Really lovely interior with outdoor seating with views of the river. Would definitely recommend and will be back myself for sure!

Just had drinks and food in the little outside courtyard area, was a lovely later afternoon sun trap. The GnTs were lovely (good selection) and had a Nasi Goreng which was tasty and reasonably priced for a central / touristy kind of area. I'd visit again. Don't know about the rooms

Service was patchy. The younger ladies delivered perfunctory, cold and functional service. One of them even instructed her colleague to ensure the kitchen did not start preparing our breakfast until 9am (we had ordered at 8.50am). I mean - I can understand if the kitchen is not ready until 9am, but what does it mean when the kitchen has to be reminded not to start preparing breakfast until 9am? That they are ready, but they shouldn't start preparing because someone is a stickler for their rules? The customer is not valued at all. A more senior lady who served us breakfast saved the day. She was warm and accommodating, so different from the rest!

Ordered click and collect and it was meant to be ready 30mins after ordering. Arrived on time only to be told it’s being made fresh…. I wasn’t happy as if I wanted to order on arrival I wouldn’t have gone through the trouble of ordering a click and collect order that I expected to be ready at the time stated on arrival.

Been here a few times now ... its wonderful... lovely vibe in a fab location. Food is fabulous at reasonable prices ... very relaxed love it 😀

Went for brunch and had the ‘Vegan smashed avocado brunch’. A piece of ciabatta bread topped with mashed edamame , chopped avocado, chopped tomatoes and spices. I have to say, it was delicious, but without a doubt, totally over priced for the amount you get. Sadly, won’t order again as not value for money.

I've always been quite nervous to go out and eat by myself, but the lovely atmosphere of this place made me much more at ease - especially when all the servers I've had are very sweet :) I can see this becoming my favourite spot

We hosted a wedding party here recently and the staff, Hannah (the manager) Florence & Amrita were absolutely top class. They were amazing, friendly, accommodating, helpful and happy to help. I can't rate the staff high enough.

We mostly go to this restaurant because it's dog friendly and my girlfriend has a very friendly black lab. The food is excellent and the staff are friendly

Me and my friend came in for lunch today, not only were we ignored when we first entered we had to wait about 30 minutes to get seated whilst staff were walking past us. The lady said she would clear our table after we sat down and there was a 40 minute wait on food which was fine. However, we received our drinks and food and the table was still dirty with plates and cutlery left on from before. The lady didn’t clear our table u til we asked her to do it again once we received our food where she gave attitude to use for asking. Not only did they not even ask how our food was when the same staff proceeded to do check ups on other customers they didn’t offer sauces and it took the lady 5 minutes to bring us our cutlery after giving us the food

This place is just amazing. From checking in to our room with lovely polite, helpful staff, to a cosy sit down drink in a beautiful welcoming lounge. I need to talk about the rooms. The room was beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean with a wonderful view over the river. The bathroom was huge, with a beautiful roll top bath, walk in shower, 2 sinks, 2 mirrors and anything else you could possibly want. We will definitely be staying here again. Thank you to everyone at Albero lounge for an amazing stay.

favourite place to go to. I always stop by during my dog walks as my dog tends to drag me here as soon as we walk by and equally the atmosphere is comfortable enough to not shy away from being alone with the dog in a large establishment. The staff are truly accommodating and provide the best services to all those - whether to us regulars or those whom are visiting first time round. I am truly thankful for the attentiveness provided by the staff and the hospitality of the atmosphere achieved each time. Whether alone or with a friend, the lounge is one of a kind. Thank you to the staff 🤍

Friendly and helpful staff, beautiful place average food

We stopped here for a coffee and a milkshake for my daughter. Nice surroundings and dog friendly. The food menu looked really good so I'll be returning to try that out.

We saved up money and went for a birthday as a treat with great expectations, and were greatly disappointed. The upstairs was cold and the food was poor quality. Favourite menu items we were upset to see had also been removed. Really dampened the mood on the celebration. Waste of money.

Coeliac friendly, with a huge range of gluten free options. I had the beef burger with cheddar cheese, fries and coleslaw. Highly recommended for vegans, vegetarians and gluten free.

Came here with my family after a movie at Vue. The food was lovely and arrived quickly. Loved the atmosphere and seems like a great place to hang out. Hope to come back soon. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was some of the food is quite over priced for what you get. Beef quesadillas for example, £4 for 1 small tortilla with a little bit of pulled beef and a couple of slices of pickled red onion. Just seemed excessive pricing for such a tiny dish.

Albero lounge was amazing, I came down for a work conference and stayed over in one of the rooms in the lounge. I was greeted by a member of Management called Amrita and she was very helpful with everything. She was extremely polite and had very good customer service. 10/10 for her. The food and drinks were very good value for money and delicious too. Would highly recommend visiting this place for either food or to stay the night or both.

Came in for dinner with my Fiancée and we both had burgers, I’m blown away with the quality and flavour experience my taste buds went through I will definitely be back may even become my new spot for a burger now. Staff were really friendly and nice also even after my partner messed up her order and accidentally selected no bun on her burger spoke with an employee and was resolved easily. 20/10 will recommend coming here to all in future.

The decor is amazing. The staff are lovely. The overall atmosphere is just relaxed and enjoyable. The food.... PHENOMENAL. Absolutely lovee the vegan beyond cheese burger 10/10 And although it wasn't available on this visit the carrot cake is to die for! 🤤😍 I will be recommending to friends and family 🥰

Great food and really helpful staff

Great place, informal and relaxed with a large menu and food variety suited for all times of meals and hours. The decor is quirky and the interior is spacious and bright. We visited Veganuary for brunch and the menu selection of vegan food was good. However we ordered some alcohol free drinks and they were overly sweet while the food was ok but not great...felt a bit of a mix cobbled together rather than a properly prepared meal. Also the position is lovely but if driving you will have to park away and walk there also... while being in a prime location and by the river the majority of the windows don't have a view on the river side...which is a little of a shame. Overall the experience was good, fast service and friendly attentive staff and I would recommend it.

This is the least SEND friendly place we have ever been with some of the rudest staff. All I wanted was a menu because my it's easier for my kid to use than the app. Never thought this would be asking to much in a restaurant!!!! AVOID!!!!

We went here for brunch and were pleasantly surprised. Food was good quality and arrived quickly. Service was good and aware of allergens in the kitchen. Restaurant area is much bigger than it appears from the outside, so there were plenty of tables to choose from. Will definitely be visiting again!

Came here for a lunch time snack. I Had tapas, my son had pancakes and my wife had a sausage butty; all of which was very tasty. Will be back again for future lunch snacks when in town.

I haven’t stayed here yet so can’t comment on rooms but food is excellent staff are friendly and attentive. Set beside the river it’s a great location dog and child friendly it’s fantastically relaxed and casual

Positives - extensive vegan options, good selection of food, decent portion size, nice atmosphere, usually recommended... but... last visit for late brunch on a Saturday... food not hot.. felt like it had been sat under the hotplate too long. Note this is just one visit - I have been several times for drinks only and food and normally wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

We had lunch and dinner here: the food was delicious, there was an ample bar and the service was good. Bonus points for being a family-friendly place.

Use to love eating here .but menu has gone up in price .my meal looked smaller and did not taste the same . Tables had plates glasses and coffee/tea cups from customers had left

Pleasant experience. Not sure the chef knows the difference between a sticky toffee pudding (which was ordered) and a chocolate brownie. Overall, it was a nice time with a trendy crowd. And it's dog friendly, which is a bonus.

I always come to albero with my friends for drinks. It is great! However the reason for my 3 stars is the pricing seems to be ridiculous for the portion size. I ordered halloumi fries for 5.95, though it was a bit expensive but assumed I would get a healthy portion. No ! Works out to be roughly 2 pounds a halloumi frie. I may as well just take my money at this point !.

Went for lunch today, made our order and food arrived. I asked the girl for dressing and vinegar but she never returned. I had to return my chips 3 times as they were not hot and by the time they returned hot I had eaten the rest of my meal. Not the service you expect or to eat your meal in 2 stages and not bring everything you asked. Not good enough. Lots of tables left with empty plates of food and not cleaned, plenty of staff and only a couple staff doing any work. Very unorganized.

We booked to make sure that one of our party, who is 90, wouldn’t have to stand and wait too long. Arrived to be told they don’t take bookings (but a reserved sign on our table). Food took over 40 mins from ordering to be brought to the table and then only 2 of 3 dishes arrived and the third had to be chased up. Finally, the Philly “cheesesteak” had minimal steak and was actually full of beans instead. Usually quite like this chain but the Bedford branch is one to avoid.

Oh,lovely its place to stop have a cup if tea and good English breakfast along side of river on elegent sitting arrangement outside and inside depending upon weather We all in our family we two and our dog 🐕 visited this place as dogs allowed this place so as soon we nearby this place our dog pull us to Lounge anyway stuff always good to everyone now during covid situation they follow all government prescribed rules and we r happy with even when u sit as per their directed you scan code go online order your food with ur table number pay online good quality food served by the masked staff
