Albero Lounge in Bedford

Wonderful place! Quaint luxury rooms atop wonderful restaurant and bar. Located next to RiverGreat Ouse, walking distance from center of town, shopping, cinemas restaurants and pubs. Great service. Beyond my expectations!

This is a great place to stop for refreshments after a lovely stroll along the embankment. Dog friendly, great choice of food and drink, and pretty reasonably prices. We haven't stayed there as we live locally.

Had the tapas. Overpriced and under whelmed by the food.

Whilst in bedford, i stumbled across this beautiful looking bar/restaurant called Albero lounge. Situated next to the river, I thought it would be an ideal place to stop for food. After filtering through their menu, I decided to go with the 3 tapas dishes for £13.50. It seemed like great value for money, and I love to pick at different items. My choices were, Harissa chicken skewers Louisiana fried chicken & Korean king prawns. To add some carbs, I had the garlic ciabatta for £3.25. Unfortunately, my review is going to be more enjoyable than the food. The chicken skewers...I'm not sure how long these chicken's had been frozen before ever seeing the day of light, but I know they had been buried deep in that freezer before being put out there miserly for quite some time. Dry, tasteless, borderline criminal. 2/10 Louisiana fried chicken...although fairly nice and moist. I'm not sure where they get Louisiana from. Maybe they have a chef in the back called Louis? 5/10 Korean king prawns...well, not much to say about these, other than they were your typical frozen prawns you'd expect to find from Icelands. Korean? I have no idea why they bought Korea into this. Kim jong would bomb this place if he knew. 3/10 Garlic ciabatta...I'm not even going to waste my time. You'd find more garlic on a vampire. 1/10 Overall, not great food wise. The service was good, and the prices are reasonable. And you do get a nice view.

I’m a big fan of ‘the lounge’ in various places from Aberystwyth Wales to various visit towns / cities … So when for the first time food delivery and temperature was below par I went to Chloe the Bedford Deputy Manager … who was super compassionate and resolved my complains swiftly and provided a generous discount. However, Chloe …. who I believe should be promoted and become her on business advisor … then went above and beyond and I will say made out night by hearing and seeing the issues we shared and then kindly offered a drink on the house making us all feel like The Lounge totally has the right ethos … well done Deputy Manager Chloe (as you made us feel vindicated for politely moaning of our food not being as hot as it usually is provided nor brought to us a one time) … big love to you and I hope you and your team get the recognition for your personable skills (as it is truly well deserved) …... team Chloe all the way !

Have been here a couple of times and generally had a good experience. Good location and great service. However the food offering seems to be taking a backwards step. Ordered some blueberry pancakes at a breakfast serving and they came cold with ~ 5 unappetising looking blueberries (past their best) a small smear of "compote" and a spoon of mascarpone which is advertised as maple for some reason. Used to be a lot better

Ordered food and wine. We left so much. The patstas Brava were undercooked. Just cubed potatoes with a little paprika on.The mac & cheese was lumpy. The hummus was acceptable possibly the best my friend has had in this country. The garlic chips were obviously reheated as they were swimming in oil- not butter , we had to put the chips in il. After that they were nasty. The bang bang cauliflower looked like it has been reincarnated. I think it had been brought from Norse road. 🤭 Unfortunately as this was my first time here I wouldn’t be able to recommend this place to anyone who enjoys food.

Always have a good time here! Staff are helpful and friendly, they have a good drinks selection and nice views of the embankment especially in the summer

Staff are friendly and helpful. Food tasty with a couple of new dishes that were new to us really tasty Malaysian curry and Korean prawns. We went early evening so wasn't too busy so we weren't rushed

Me and my mother came for a nice lunch here, the food was lovely and the service was great. My mom asked for her coffee to be reheated and the waitress made her a brand new one. Very thoughtful

Nice place to visit on the river front in Bedford.

Stayed in one of their rooms and ate in the restaurant. Both were absolutely fantastic as were the staff. They were very helpful. The food was lovely we had the vegetarian tapas. We would definitely stay and eat here again if we are in the area

Great place, a good find for eats, drinks, and sleeps

Lovely meal for an impromptu celebration lunch. The burgers were excellent! Super tasty and not dripping with grease, as in so many places. Perfectly cooked sweet potato and regular fries too. All the staff were friendly and helpful, but a special shout out to the lady (and sorry I didn't get your name) who remade my wife's Melon Iced Tea with a decaf tea-bag. It was entirely my mistake not mentioning it when we ordered and it was immensely kind to remake it for her. Also, she says it was delicious! Really fantastic service, thank you!

Good food and service in tired surroundings

Loved their food and the river view was beautiful on a sunny day. Their coffee is great as well :) Had their Mexican bean wrap and Morrocan Aubergine Flatbread, which were both delicious and filling.

Went for Saturday lunch placed order and paid and then told it was half an hour wait. AFTER I paid!!!! AND the staff in the kitchen with beards who were prepping the food...none of them were wearing beard snoods, so unhygienic!!!

such a lovely spot, come here often and never any problems- today there was a problem with my order (not staff’s fault, technical issue i think) and the manager on shift was super lovely about it and sorted it straight away. Friendly staff and service, also dog friendly which is a bonus!

2nd time staying here. I took my girlfriend Lauren and myself here for a valentines break away. Booking a lovely room with a stunning bath. We were served by Will at dinner who was extremely polite, well spoken and friendly throughout our dinner. I very much like his style and compliment his personality. Sadly was unable to leave a direct electronic tip without it being shared to other waiters. Very much enjoy the staff and people. Always helpful, friendly and outgoing. We will be back again for sure!

Rude staff. Bedford is dead on its backside and this is what you have to offer? Not good enough. People work hard for their money and when they choose to spend it at your establishment, maybe service without rudeness wouldn’t go amiss?

This place is going downhill. My family and I have always loved coming here, but our recent visit was disappointing. We had to queue just to be seated, waited over 40 minutes for our food, only for the chips to arrive cold. When we requested a replacement they came salted even though we hadn’t added any ourselves, which just shows the food is recycled.

First time here, and on Valentine's Day, Art deco interior, nice setting, we sat upstairs and had the option to order to the table off there app. Our service was spo though noticed table confusion but understandable due to the pressure and busyness of the evening. Definitely recommend great food and a good selection of beers/ciders and cocktails.

I went here today with my friend. She is Vegan , I eat normal Albero Lounge is the perfect place to go Their menu caters for all dietary requirements The staff are very friendly and helpful Even how it is decorated , it's a lovely ambience I highly recommend this place

Man I love Albero lounge, hyper-casual hangout spot with a beautiful atmosphere, it’s like Wetherspoons sans the degenerate gambling and neanderthals that frequent them. The coffee is great too no complaints, darker roast without nuanced notes but nothing to complain about really. Could do with some barista training to extract a marvellous cup when combined with the equipment, but I’m a but of a snob so you can ignore me on that regard. Staff is always lovely too, especially the ginger fellow, always cheers me up when i see him scuttle around the place lol.

Had a nice meal with friends at the Alberto Lounge. We weren't able to book a table for the 5 of us because our group wasn't big enough so I was a bit surprised to see tables for 4 reserved when we arrived. Despite being quite busy we managed to find a table upstairs and ordered using the app. There is WiFi available but you'll need to provide all your darkest secrets to get access - and then enter them all again when you register for the app. I should have ordered at the bar. The food was good and arrived fairly quickly despite how busy it was. The highlight for me was the sherbet lemonade drink - that was lush!

Good tasting coffee and large variety of food option

I was at Albero Lounge with my husband, for an evening meal. He chose a burger and I had buttermilk chicken. Both meals were served fairly quickly, were nicely presented and were very tasty. My only negatives were that the food should have been plated up onto heated plates, as my chicken was half cold by the time it reached me in the upstairs seating area. Also, the menu needs to be revised, to make it clear that the "fried chicken" is actually coated with breadcrumbs. Apart from this, I really enjoyed my meal (as always) and will definitely return.

I found this a somewhat above average chain restaurant. The decor is interesting and the menu extensive, one of its best features as most people will find something there they fancy. The facility for each family to order and pay online at the table was a massive boon for our group of 14, no complex calculations to split the bill and everyone could order what and when they wanted. Considering we were in the run up to Christmas, the service was very good, pleasant and efficient.

Friday December 20 2024. On behalf of The whole of our group, 19 eating 5 drinks only. Thank You, Thank You. What a wonderful evening we had. From the moment we got to you, nothing was too much trouble. I know that you normally have all the big Christmas parties upstairs, but due to our variety of disabilities there are several of us that cannot manage stairs easily or safely. And you very kindly put us into one of your downstairs rooms. It was perfect. Again you've had a complete change of staff since we booked, yet we were treated like long lost friends. There was so much laughter and banter going on, I never heard a single word of complaint. It is always going to be difficult pleasing such a large group as ours but you nailed it! Again thank you. If I am asked would we go there again, it would have to be a resounding Absolutely YES!! I'm still picking up messages of thanks and praise for other members of the group thanking Heidi and myself for organising this event. I can only once again say Thank you. We did the paperwork side of things. But it was you all that made it happen. You were absolute🌟 Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I didn't stay here and didn't know any of the Loungers had rooms available. Very quiet on a Sunday evening, but the service was very pleasant from the young female assistant. I enjoyed a pint and half of Brixton ale, which was in very good condition. Very clean throughout and nicely decorated just like all other Lounges. If I stay in future, I'll edit this review.

Met friends for dinner, most of us ordered the tapas. 2 of my dishes were luke warm and 2 were hot, wish they had all been served hot. The drinks were good, nice using the app to order to the table.

Food is all delicious and they always ask about allergies so seem very aware of the issue. Random assortment of tables and chairs so depending on how busy it is, you might get a sofa but the food tastes great, the staff are very friendly and it is all a good price.

Had lunch here, was really lovely! Enjoyed the tapas style options on the menu, lovely decor and service.

Really cool little cafe lounge. Vegan milk available and even vegan carrot cake which is delish. Parking a bit tricky, but it you're in town for a while, just use a nearby car park, maybe the multi story. Overall, a really cosy snazzy place

Vegan range is incredible, amazingly delicious and staff is super sweet and helpful. Every visit they provide me with a hotel room to pray in as a customer in their lounge. Definitely suggest and will 100% be visiting again.

Craving pancakes on a Sunday morning and they showed up on search. Food was good, arrived timely. Liked that I could order and pay at my table. Lovely atmosphere and quite spacious too.

We went here for drinks Saturday night before a meal out somewhere else , great atmosphere, love the decor.... we decided to come here for breakfast the following morning, food is absolutely amazing, best breakfast I've had in a long time , produce is so fresh and wouldn't be surprised if it was local farmers produce , and the staff are equally lovely too . highly recommend this place.

Another lounge visited! This one didn't have the most exciting decor, compared to some of the other lounges and their stunning art deco theme. It was still nice, though. Spacious with the choice of cosy armchairs for coffee meet ups, dining tables for food, and bar stools too. Facilities were accessible by wheelchair and clean. All lounges have the same menu, and the food was predicatable, hot, good value, and arrived quickly. Staff were smiley. I really liked the location of this lounge, right on the river. There was plenty of outdoor seating for those who want to brave the cold to take in the river view and watch the world go by.

Chicken was cooked too much and couldn't eat some because the breadcrumbs were burnt, breakfast was fine, poached eggs were hard jn the middle, cupperchinos given to wrong people and hot chocolate had no taste, told waitress but wasn't bothered.

I stayed here for two nights in late September. Quirky, vibrant and beautifully appointed rooms (mine overlooked the river), the Albero is also 'equipped' with SENSATIONAL customer service. I am an old boomer and thus I get a tad forgetful; especially after some ale. I left my trousers in the wardrobe in my room. I spoke to a charming lady who said she would nip upstairs and see if they were still there. They were and she would would post them back to me. I offered to pay the postage but she politely declined my offer. This is exceptional customer service and I am pleased to say they arrived today. Thank you - most genuinely. They even came with a free burger voucher - result...as you Gen Z would say...

We popped in for some drinks and a bit to eat. The cold drinks and the hot drinks were delivered about 15 minutes apart. The coffee was weak and warm, not hot. Their garlic and parmesan fries were swimming in oil, no flavour and undercooked. The location and inside is lovely, the service slow (staff were however friendly) and food substandard. Try another cafe.

Sunday brunch eaten here plus a few chats with some dogs and their owners as it's a dog-friendly restaurant. Food was good, well cooked and tasty. Will come back, the general ambience and setting with high, airy ceilings and two levels is enjoyable and the prices are reasonable.

Popped in for a quick brunch as we were in need of a place that offered gluten free options and we are so glad this place came up first! A huge menu offering loads of fab dishes, breakfast, brunch, burgers, flatbread, the list goes on! Most items were available gluten free too which was great as my partner is coeliac. Staff were great, very friendly and helpful. Really lovely interior with outdoor seating with views of the river. Would definitely recommend and will be back myself for sure!

Just had drinks and food in the little outside courtyard area, was a lovely later afternoon sun trap. The GnTs were lovely (good selection) and had a Nasi Goreng which was tasty and reasonably priced for a central / touristy kind of area. I'd visit again. Don't know about the rooms

Service was patchy. The younger ladies delivered perfunctory, cold and functional service. One of them even instructed her colleague to ensure the kitchen did not start preparing our breakfast until 9am (we had ordered at 8.50am). I mean - I can understand if the kitchen is not ready until 9am, but what does it mean when the kitchen has to be reminded not to start preparing breakfast until 9am? That they are ready, but they shouldn't start preparing because someone is a stickler for their rules? The customer is not valued at all. A more senior lady who served us breakfast saved the day. She was warm and accommodating, so different from the rest!

Ordered click and collect and it was meant to be ready 30mins after ordering. Arrived on time only to be told it’s being made fresh…. I wasn’t happy as if I wanted to order on arrival I wouldn’t have gone through the trouble of ordering a click and collect order that I expected to be ready at the time stated on arrival.

Been here a few times now ... its wonderful... lovely vibe in a fab location. Food is fabulous at reasonable prices ... very relaxed love it 😀

Went for brunch and had the ‘Vegan smashed avocado brunch’. A piece of ciabatta bread topped with mashed edamame , chopped avocado, chopped tomatoes and spices. I have to say, it was delicious, but without a doubt, totally over priced for the amount you get. Sadly, won’t order again as not value for money.

I've always been quite nervous to go out and eat by myself, but the lovely atmosphere of this place made me much more at ease - especially when all the servers I've had are very sweet :) I can see this becoming my favourite spot

We hosted a wedding party here recently and the staff, Hannah (the manager) Florence & Amrita were absolutely top class. They were amazing, friendly, accommodating, helpful and happy to help. I can't rate the staff high enough.

We mostly go to this restaurant because it's dog friendly and my girlfriend has a very friendly black lab. The food is excellent and the staff are friendly

Me and my friend came in for lunch today, not only were we ignored when we first entered we had to wait about 30 minutes to get seated whilst staff were walking past us. The lady said she would clear our table after we sat down and there was a 40 minute wait on food which was fine. However, we received our drinks and food and the table was still dirty with plates and cutlery left on from before. The lady didn’t clear our table u til we asked her to do it again once we received our food where she gave attitude to use for asking. Not only did they not even ask how our food was when the same staff proceeded to do check ups on other customers they didn’t offer sauces and it took the lady 5 minutes to bring us our cutlery after giving us the food

This place is just amazing. From checking in to our room with lovely polite, helpful staff, to a cosy sit down drink in a beautiful welcoming lounge. I need to talk about the rooms. The room was beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean with a wonderful view over the river. The bathroom was huge, with a beautiful roll top bath, walk in shower, 2 sinks, 2 mirrors and anything else you could possibly want. We will definitely be staying here again. Thank you to everyone at Albero lounge for an amazing stay.

Always good service and food and they always make a fuss of my daughters dog. Just went for food.
