Albarino Tapas Restaurant and Bar in Thanet

Delicious freshly cooked food and great service. Walked in on Saturday evening and managed to get a table. Check out the reservations on the website as they do two sittings - 6pm and 8pm. Highlights for us were the cod fritters and gambas. All staff were lovely and gave great advice regarding the dishes - 7-9 between the 3 of us was perfect. Ambiance, music and setting of the restaurant were all ideal. Would love to return to this restaurant when next in Broadstairs.

We had a lovely meal at Albariño. We booked online with no fuss. We were made very welcome when we arrived and were seated at a comfortable table. The service was excellent and knowledgeable and the food was really good. We had the chef’s selection of tapas and they were brilliant and really good value. All in all I would highly recommend a visit.

We had an amazing dinner here. The whole experience felt very authentically Spanish. Music, menu, shelves of products. Lovely support from the waitress in helping us make choices and responding to our requests. The food was delicious. Highlights were the stuffed dates, and the boquerones (I could go on and on)but the bread was beautifully freshly baked and we loved the serving bowls. We will definitely return next time we’re in Broadstairs and would highly recommend.

We recently visited this restaurant and had the most delicious meal. We ordered several dishes and none of them disappointed. The service was excellent and would highly recommend a visit if in broadstairs.

2nd visit this year and didn’t disappoint , this is our favourite restaurant in Broadstairs. We always choose a counter table but there are standard tables available. Lovely views if you are sat at front of the restaurant. Always a great atmosphere, great playlist of music. Head waitress very knowledgeable and friendly, also helped us choose some after dinner drink liqueurs. We had small 7 plates between us rather than the set menu, which is a more expensive option but still great value for money, we were so stuffed, next time we would do 5 or 6 plates so we could fit in dessert. The monkfish saltimbocca was really tender and flavourful, tuna stuffed tomato was really tasty, we also had the special of chorizo and mash which was spicy and gorgeous, the mash (not smash mash that some one else reviewed) was silky smooth. The winner for me was the pork belly & clams, I’ve never had such tender pork with a delicious crispy edge and not fatty at all, as all fat melted. Also we noticed there is only 1 chef in the kitchen putting all this together which is amazing. A great restaurant, great service and well worth the money, however if you want to go cheaper the set menu is a great option, it was our anniversary so we splashed out on Spanish cocktails, Albariño wine and liqueurs and trying multiple dishes. The Tinto Varano is a lovely refreshing cocktail. We will definitely be back again and can’t wait to bring friends.

It’s easily one of the best restaurants in the area. The tapas selection is varied and thoughtfully crafted, offering a delightful mix of traditional and innovative dishes. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for a relaxed evening out. The service was also top-notch, with attentive staff who made us feel right at home. If you’re in Broadstairs and looking for an unforgettable dining experience, Albarino is a must-visit. We can’t wait to return!

We were a party of 7 and enjoyed a very fine meal with some of the Albarino classics (chickpea and fennel chips) and some specials - the chili and melon stood out as especially good. We had the table sharing menu and were sensibly guided through that and adding some dishes of particular appeal to the table. There was not a false note just a happy group.

We were very disappointed having eaten here before to be told that there is a minimum order for lunch. We had selected over 10 dishes between 4 of us and were told we needed many more. The food is nice but the price is high and the waitress was quite rude communicating with us. Having eaten tapas in Spain many times we have never been ordered to order more, the culture is relaxed and you can always add dishes as you go. We would have already been paying over £70 but the waitress refused to allow this and we ended up leaving the restaurant. We can appreciate that the restaurant is a business and needs tables to order sufficiently, but we were already spending a significant amount and there were many empty tables so we thought this was unnecessarily harsh. The menu does not state there is a minimum order and we were left very disappointed. Needless to say we won’t be coming back. The previous times we have been they have never refused to serve us so we’re not sure what has changed.

Had a fantastic dinner here, food is beautifully prepared, cooked and presented and absolutely delicious. A really lovely cosy and authentic restaurant with friendly, attentive front of house. A really great menu with something for everyone, very much a tasty treat with every dish! Cannot wait to go back!

Unfortunately a rather disappointing meal. We were a party of four and we ordered three tapas each as this was a feature of the menu. Obviously we were going to share every dish, the problem being that all the dishes came with three portions each. I do think the management could work around that especially as at the time we were there, almost every table had four people on it. There was also a rather irritating waitress who buzzed around us constantly removing dishes, and at one stage we had to retrieve a dish that still had food on it. A little more staff training, and a rethink on portion size would go a long way. it will be too late to tempt us back I'm afraid.

The tapas at Albarino are amazing. We chose 3 each from the menu. Every dish was beautifully presented & flavours were out of this world. The chef here is very skilled. Difficult to choose a favourite as all dishes were so tasty but the goats cheese, honey aubergines & walnuts was my absolute favourite. Waitress was well informed with recommendations.

Lovely intimate restaurant where all the staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and attentive and made the atmosphere truly relaxing and special. The tapas plates were great and having recently returned from Seville where we ate at some exceptional restaurants, this little gem in Broadstairs certainly didn’t disappoint. 10/10 would highly recommend and won’t hesitate to return.

We don’t eat out as much as we used to so hadn’t been here for some time. Our loss! The food was absolutely fantastic. We chose 6 dishes to share from the menu plus a dessert which was accompanied by the recommended dessert wine. Even against that exceptionally high standard two dishes stood out; the goats cheese with aubergine and honey and the Spanish rice pudding with orange and quince. Both were of Michelin Star quality. The service was of a similar standard, prompt, knowledgeable and friendly. We are so lucky to have this restaurant on our doorstep and should use it more often. These are tough times for the hospitality sector so local places like this should be cherished. I can’t recommend it more highly.

Great food and great service at this very welcoming tapas restaurant. This was our first visit - a birthday celebration - but I am sure we will be back. We enjoyed a "sherry board" to start - something new for us - and a great introduction to how lovely sherry can be. Then the tapas plates - all delicious with an excellent choice of meat, fish and vegetarian. And we still had room for dessert - Spanish rice pudding with irange and quince - who knew rice pudding could be so delicious. The service from the two waitresses was very welcoming, helpful and efficient. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

This was our second evening visit to this little gem of a tapas bar in the last three months. There is a very ample and varied choice of dishes on the menu from meat, fish, seafood and vegetarian tapas which are beautifully presented in a very authentic Spanish style. The two ladies that served us were amazing and very attentive at all times throughout. We have since recommended this lovely bar to our friends and family and are planning our return in February during the Blues Bash Festival so please please if you haven’t yet tried this place….book now to avoid disappointment during busy periods.

Still one of our favourite restaurants in Kent! We Ate at Alberino last night and it was absolutely incredible! Amazing food served faultlessly from a charming open kitchen, very friendly and knowledgeable front of house team, who know the menu inside out…. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough! It’s an absolute must visit.

Went to Albarino on Saturday night. This is the third time we have been there now. Each visit has been superb. I find it impossible to fault anything. The dishes are lovingly made with so much respect for the ingredients and authenticity. I have written a review before and said that it is a little piece of Spain in Broadstairs. In my opinion it is better than tapas I have had in Spain. The food and attentive service is exceptional. If you like tapas food you will love this place. Thank you for another wonderful evening of food and service. 10 out of 10 for both.

One of our favourite restaurants in Broadstairs the food is always excellent, great friendly service and a cosy atmosphere.

Once again an exceptional meal. Four of us chose from the tapas menu, 3 dishes each, so a wonderful array of flavours and textures - new to me and wonderful were the mejul dates in bacon and the chicken with lentils, both delcicious. My favourites, meat balls, padron peppers and patats bravas did not disappoint and other dishes on the table such as salt cod fritters and anchovy toast were wonderful. This chef is so creative and has a superb touch. The atmosphere is intimate but relaxed and spotlessly clean and with charming spanish decor. Highly recommend.

We love this restaurant and we're delighted to return. This time, we enjoyed the Albarino wine, patron peppers with alioli, beautiful prawns cooked in parsley, garlic and lemon, patatas bravas and for dessert enjoyed the delicious Santiago cake the honeycomb and sherry soaked raisins. Having travelled around Northern Spain earlier this year enjoying some delicious food we were amazed to find the same authentic quality food at Albarino in Broadstairs. The delicious food was accompanied by an excellent bottle of Albarino from their small but interesting (and very reasonable) wine list. The atmosphere was cosy and convivial and the service was attentive and friendly. We will definitely be back. Thank you.

The food is excellent: authentic delicious Spanish tapas cooked with skill and great ingredients. Even apparently simple dishes like chicken with lentils or gambas and chorizo on rice are transformed by the subtle spices and depth of flavour. The best Spanish food we’ve eaten in the UK! So much better than the “small plates” or pretend tapas in other local restaurants. The wine list is extensive - so many Spanish wines to try. Service always top notch. We’ll be back…

This is our favourite restaurant in Broadstairs. The food is just amazing flavourful and beautifully presented, and the service front of house is warm and welcoming. The variety of Tapas on offer is superb. If you have room after tapas my desert recommendation would be the churros with chocolate sauce they are absolutely delicious. We are forward to dining at Albarino again soon. If we lived in Broadstairs we’d be there every week.

Four of us went to this wonderful Tapas Restaurant in Broadstairs for my birthday! The venue is so very authentically Spanish and the food and service were first class and very relaxed. We had a great time and would definitely go again if in the area. Highly recommended!!! Amor y besos!!

Love this place! We booked a bar table that added to the experience. All the dishes we chose were beautiful but the Medjool date and bacon pincho with pickled cucumber was absolutely amazing - am still dreaming of it. Can't recommend it highly enough! Will be going again soon.

This place was recommended to us by our friends and we were certainly not disappointed. There is a wonderful warm ambiance with an impressive menu both for wonderful tapas and Spanish wines. Truly gorgeous food in a great setting - what more could you want? We had been eyeballing this restaurant for years but finally booked while we were on holiday this year. It was a rainy evening and we sat in the window, watching the skies clear over the sea, through the gardens. The set menu was wide enough to appeal to our rather fussy pre-teen. We all loved the food. My particular favourites were the salt cod bombe and the date pincho but honestly...it was all great. Thank you!
