We went here for afternoon tea and enjoyed our time. The interior of the Chinoiserie was impressive and gave a fine impression to start the experience, which was also influenced by their philosophy on food and nature. This was kindly explained by the nice lady who attentively served us throughout our time there, Sabeera. Sabeera made us feel comfortable, patiently providing us the explanation for each food served and checked if we were enjoying the meal. The food and tea did not disappoint, and we were happy to try different types of teas. Definitely a memorable experience.

I had treated my mum and my aunties for afternoon tea at the Carlton Tower, to celebrate my Aunties birthday, and we truly had a phenomenal time the attention to detail, the ambience, the unforgettable service provided by Nicola, but the best part was the food and tea to accompany the each course of the afternoon tea, there really isn’t anything like it.

We had absolutely amazing time! The whole experience of the afternoon tea was gorgeous! The tea they recommended was so nice and the savoury pieces are like art pieces with great taste! Afternoon tea was exceptional and unique. It was a modern, natural twist on traditional afternoon tea, with savouries, scones and pastries, however each round was completely different from the usual. 4 different types of scones with 4 different toppings, for example. The pastry chef was the worlds best pasty chef in 2019 and the afternoon tea won best contemporary afternoon tea this year so you can imagine it's quite extraordinary. How? Basically the food tastes like the what it is. That sounds ridiculous but it's true! The chef doesn't really use sugar and other traditionally flavour enhancing baking ingredients or methods, so what you get are delicious and distinct natural flavours. The raspberry tart, for example, was so strikingly raspberry flavoured because it was made of raspberries! Not a bunch of sugar and cream and whatever else is often used. And while I have a very sweet tooth and love cakes and pastries, there was something deliciously fresh and clean about these treats which were also satisfyingly sweet. It was so interesting! So many distinct flavours. As for the tea, it's Mariage Freres which is arguably the finest in the world, with so many varieties and you can have several different types. I think we had 4 or 5 different teas. We even had sparkling tea, which is like tea wine. It was lovely! The care and attention we received was also exceptional - explanations about what we were getting, attention to detail, care of service - all of this FAR beyond normal. It was a personal service by a manager who is clearly passionate about what they're serving and who thus wants you to enjoy it. I highly recommend it. It is an experience.

I had been meaning to try afternoon tea here and did get around to it during Afternoon Tea week! I have previously visited for tea before the refurbishment and can say the general areas look much nicer now, we weren't seated in the Chinoiserie but a sideroom. I didnt make an issue of it. On to the tea, you don't get sandwiches like traditional afternoon tea, instead you get savoury pastries. We liked most of them but we felt the Lobster had a fishy odour so we didn't finish those. The scones followed which were generally good, but i felt some of the new combinations were too tart, also the traditional scone only came with clotted cream no jam in sight! The cakes were good but i can see that certain flavour combinations may not suit everyone. The service received from everyone was very good and the final bill (discounted) was reasonable for the area. The tea is usually priced at £75 normally, which i would of paid anyway if it hadn't been on offer, however i feel that while it is good and experimental it isn't enough to bring me back repeateadly to sample it unlike for example Corinthia or 45 Park Lane (when they did do afternoon tea). In summary a good afternoon devoid of un-natural sugars (my blood sugars thank you for this) with good service!

The best afternoon tea in London! We did extensive research on the afternoon tea options, and this one was by far superior to everything else we considered. The menu was created by pastry chef Jessica Prealpato, who won the World’s Best Pastry Chef award in 2019. The menu puts an innovative twist on the traditional afternoon tea items, and everything is made with the highest quality ingredients and little to no addes sugar. We were very impressed, and would love to come back!

The Kew-garden inspired afternnon-tea is an experience you wouldn't find elsewhere in London. Unlike traditional afternoon tea, they take an healthier approach. They carefully select the ingredients that are stunningly orchestrated in the plates. By using less sugar and calories, the ingredients could speak for themselves. They also offer a great variety of tea selection. Just ask their friendly staffs, they would walk u thru their list of tea and find the ones for you. Their teas are of good quality taht balance the food flavours with nice complexity. A wonderful time at CTJ!

What an amazing experience. A full service afternoon tea with unique sandwiches, scones and desserts/pastries. The tea selection was wonderful. Overall 10/10 experience. If we could rate it higher we would. The tea room was beautiful with natural lighting and exquisite decorations. A hidden gem as it wasn't overcrowded. Nicola took care of us and his kindness and spirit was a pleasure!

This truly is one of the most unforgettable afternoon tea experiences for us. Each individual item has been carefully thought off, not to mention a lot healthier as no artificial colours nor additional sugars have been added. The taste is exceptional and not compromised. Our afternoon tea butler, Nicola, has been nothing short of exceptional. He’s very knowledgeable, attentive, and exceptional in explaining each item from each course, as well as in recommending teas for the tea pairing. He’s also friendly and commendable, as we can see that he’s also enjoying having small chats. This afternoon tea is truly a 5-star experience and worthy to be revisited soon :)

Memorable experience! Top quality food accompanied by a wide array of very different type of teas explained in depth by the staff. Each finger food, all rigorously prepared sugar free, tastes impressive, combining unexpected flavours. Staff is top quality, friendly, very knowledgeable and keen to answer any question on the characteristics of the food and the teas offered. A different experience from alternative traditional tea offerings in town. The location, the Carlton Tower hotel, is impeccable. Also the lounge area where tea is offered is intimate and not noisy. The dish set is exquisite. An experience not to be missed!

We celebrated our anniversary with a spectacular high tea. The food was wonderful, the tea list was extensive and well curated, and the service was impeccable. It was a special and unique experience because the chef cooks and bakes without refined sugar. Everything was delicate and well balanced, with special twists on traditional tea menu items.
