We had seen it on Sunday Brunch a few months back and wanted to visit . Tricky to find but so worth it. Food was amazing. The best we had during our stay in London. Staff fantastic with a great atmosphere.

Great grilled vegetables and perfect steak. Hidden spot, with lots of personality. Friendly staff. Delicious IPA. Expensive, but very much worth it.

Food was a bit of a disappointment. Good intentions, but didn’t quite come together. Overpriced for the quality and would not return in the future

The mackerel was fab. Wine was good. it was very busy when we got there. Staff were good. we were able to get parking in the area as our reservation as after 7pm. We were looking froward to the halibut but they had run out. The lamb was well seasoned and perfectly cooked. would also recommend the leeks. The desserts were a bit boring and dry. We had the pear cake and the chocolate ganache. the pear cake tasted dry and boring. The ganache had a bitter after taste and seemed like something made with little effort. Maybe its just not my type of dessert. the dessert just didn't live up to the main food.

Had high hopes. The place looks good and smells great, with cool staff . All fire and smoke, what could go wrong? To be fair, the place was busy, but it was long wait and a few other diners were clearly getting antsy., When it showed up my dinner was very fatty and oily. It wasn't great. I don't mind a bit of an unhealthy treat but this had oil dripping out of it and pooling on the plate. Better still it was lukewarm, at best. I couldn't hack the wait for it to be heated up. Potato sides looked cool, but were kind of bland. Minty corn was interesting. Overall a shame, I thought this was going to be something special, but, on the night I visited at least, it was pretty poor.

Relaxed urban rough and ready courtyard location. 30ish clientele. Service is polite understated and full of good advice. Good wine list. Food was poor though. Desserts were dire. Lamb rump was a good dish as was a salad with watermelon and one with tomatoes. The purees under the leeks were nasty. The lentils with the cod tasted overcooked and sort of old. The mackerel was fishy ie not as fresh as it must be. The pickles were good as was the bread with marmite and cheese. The staff are terribly let down by the kitchen.

Group of us decided to check out ACME after getting a recommendation and it came up trumps. Every course was more delicious than the last and it's definitely not your typical type of BBQ affair. Absolutely loved it and the service has to mentioned as it fantastic also. The place it is situated also has a great atmosphere as well with the 40FT brewery just across from it. Highly recommended!

Acme Fire Cult applies London hipster culture and eco-consciousness to the burgeoning US barbecue obsession. It's a great combo - symbiotic relations with the adjoining brewery (you can't do hipster without IPAs on the menu) and bakery (the same with sourdough) to regenerate a former industrial unit car park into a semi-covered outdoor eating and drinking area. The food and drinks are both well considered with plant-based and waste avoidance obvious on the menu. Good natural wines too. The service was top class - you wouldn't find better attentiveness, friendliness and knowledge if the tables were covered in white linen for a silver service rather than trestles and benches. We had the Sunday special meat platter and some peppers to start. On top of the open fire/smoky taste, each dish is complimented with varied seasoning and dressings to make the full-palate experience. To my surprise, I rated the dishes in reverse order of the cost of the produce - the sirloin was a bit too underdone with a lot of interstitial fat and chew and the best was...the broccoli! A zingy acidic dressing really added to the bitter charred taste. There was loads of options on the menu for folks with dairy and gluten intolerance too. For context, these are observations, not judgements. I'd go back tomorrow. Acme Fire Cult is clearly on an upward trajectory and is going to claim more fame and accolades over time. I'd recommend trying it as soon as you can, while you can.

I would implore you to read our other reviews before reading this. I am not an unreasonable person. We went to acme fire club on recommendations of a friend. We were very impressed with the staff and the starters. The problems started with the mains. An £80 sirloin steak. This was cooked by someone who had perhaps never seen a piece of beef before, and the fat was inedible. We brought this to the attention of the manager who agreed to try it. We watched him take it back to the chef and not even touch it. Please see photo attached for the absurdity of the cooking. The “manager” advised that sometimes a ribeye can contain sinew. Not acceptable for a ribeye, but laughable if you’ve ordered a sirloin. The manager agreed it was, “terrible”, and suggested we had some complimentary desserts. These were acceptable, if not simplistic. We asked for the bill and were surprised to see the barely edible steak added. We spoked to the manager and he was surprised because we’d accepted some desserts. A frankly ludicrous idea. All in all, I would advise you give this place a wide berth. And for the owners of this establishment I would recommend hiring a manager who has at least been described a steak via a telephone on the past. Absolutely diabolical. The worst food and customer service experience of my life; anywhere in the world.

Hidden behind the main road in Dalston, it is a must-visit if you are a foodie! Loads of exceptionally delicious vegan options. The service was excellent and the dishes were really inventive. I ordered Longhorn Bavette, Friggitelli Peppers, Coal Roast Leeks and Burrata with broad beans. Everything was delicious with Leeks being my favourite dish. I'm already thinking of what to order next time.

Absolutely loved this place! Outdoor bbq/grill, busy, bustling outdoor seating. The food was stunning! Absolutely loved all of it, grilled leeks, marmite cheesy buttery bread, beef skewers, all of it was delicious. The smoke was a bit much, hang your clothes out the next day, and be prepared for watery eyes at some stage. But totally worth it!

This restaurant is terrible. The service is awful, the staff seem totally disengaged with it, and most importantly, the food is dreadful. The bill was close to 200 pounds, and the portion size for large plates at 25 pound + was embarrassing. The snack we had initially was 6 quid for some ropey green beans next to some kimchi- or we guessed it was that. The food came out in no particular order and the stuff were chaotic and seemed badly trained/ managed or just didn’t care. No waiters managing any set area and then staff walking table to table with the wrong drink orders. The biggest issue is I have spent 100 less on a far better meal. I could see other tables commenting on how poor it was too. The “large plates” were pathetically small with limited amounts of meat/ fish etc. From the portions and price and overall customer experience it is clear they are a restaurant who must have got totally carried away with margins and have forgotten about the customer. We were never asked how the food was at any point. Genuinely a shame as there’s so much potential but it was just so bad. FYI I’m not obese, I just like a place that delivers value if it is going to be expensive. This place is expensive and of no value. They also additionally sting you with VAR and service charge for their joke of a service. A con.

the dishes (beetroot, marmite on sourdough, pickles, cauliflower, aubergine) were innovative, intestinmg tastes and flavours. The aubergine bake with some congealed brown mole was fairly disgusting Alcohol a bit underwhelming, overprices, small glasses. The avertable heatng goes off every 15 minutes and is such annoying

... but, for once, the angel prevailed. This is an innovative new restaurant with a cheerful atmosphere and friendly, playful staff. The menu is exciting and considered with some standout options (notably the leek dish) and interesting flavours. A couple of the dishes were underseasoned, which is my only real gripe, and the cocktail I tried had that distinctive pre-mixed taste to it. But, overall, we really enjoyed our visit and I would feel a sourpuss not to bestow five stars on that basis.
