A lovely find, authentic food. Wonderful couple running this little title gem.

We decided to try something different to celebrate our wedding anniversary this year and we are so glad we did. The food was great and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. We were unsure what to choose from the menu and asked for recommendations, the lamb Kleftiko was lovely, as was my wife's Stifado. We wholeheartedly recommend Achilles Meze bar and Grill and look forward our next visit.

I went for the first time with my partner and daughter Friday 5th of July. The food is amazing and the owners are lovely. They made us feel so welcome. I would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone. Will definitely be going again

My first visit - 28.06.24 - and what a gem. Honest authentic Greek food. I was there with two friends, both have visited before and recommended it, and I'm so glad - I can't explain how fantastic this place is. It's a cafe atmosphere and a restaurant standard food. Can't wait to go back, and next time, I will take a photo of the 5-hour slow cooked lamb, the stunning chicken, and tasty meatballs. I have a citrus allergy, and they were very understanding: making the necessary changes to my meal. 5* for their cooperation. Definitely recommended.

Simply the best Greek restaurant I have been to recently amazing food great service Chef is very talented if you’re in the area this is an absolute must! The chips are divine!

As I am disabled I cannot comment on the atmosphere as we only have deliveries by the adorable Stellios. The food is to die for, all made by Stellios's lovely wife Maria. Oh my goodness Maria should have her own cookery show. Her recipes are delicious and are authentically Greek. I am trying to work my way through the menu, which is not a chore. My Dad is a stickler and always has the Kleftico, it is the tenderest lamb you will ever taste with potatoes, carrots and smothered in cheese. I swing between the Greek sausage casserole with Orzo pasta. Or the King Prawn meal in a rich Greek tomato sauce and covered in Feta cheese. You must try the Tzatziki starter with the beautiful warm bread. A place you must visit, I assure you, you will not be disappointed. 5*++

Visited Achilles for the first time last night after hearing really great reviews and everything I’d heard was absolutely true. The food was amazing. As a group of 4 we wanted to share lots of small dishes from the appetisers part of the menu - every single plate was delicious and felt authentically Greek. We were made to feel like old friends rather than new customers and had a really lovely evening. I would highly recommend - so pleased to have such a high quality restaurant right on our doorstep.

Run by a lovely couple, with great banter between them. It almost seems like you're in their living room as guests. The food is all prepared fresh on-site. The menu isn't large, but that's an advantage, as they have little waste, and this makes the food fresh, tasty and well-priced. Parking directly outside the door with additional spaces across the road. Highly recommended and we will certainly be back.

First time at Achilles Meze Bar and Grill. It is a bit out of the way for us but the owners had kindly donated a voucher as a prize for a charity event which we won, so we decided to give it a try. It is only a small venue and if you don't know about it you could easily pass it by without a second glance. Don't let that deceive you. Some of you may remember the gemstone that was Bruno's in Clayton, Manchester. Well this is the Greek equivalent. This intimate, wife and husband run restaurant is a diamond in itself. The food was all fresh ingredients, home cooked and authentic. The owners were fantastic hosts. I had the Kleftiko and the lamb was so tender and delicious. I can't wait to taste some of the other dishes and I already know what I'll be trying on my next visit. I would highly recommend supporting this small business. You won't be disappointed.

Visited today for a family meal. The food was absolutely delicious and freshly cooked. Small place , small team with perfect results. Thank you for also caring about my elderly father going down the stairs to the toilet. I would highly recommend this place.

1st visit. Courgette fritters & moussaka. Greek music pitched a bit loud for me, causing 2 other tables conversing across the room, to up their volume. Cafe style tables, chairs.

This is a very special place. We came all the way from south Manchester, trusting the reviews, and we were so glad we did! Maria made us extremely welcome and looked after us wonderfully. The food is amazing - completely fresh, made to order and totally delicious!! Warm and lovely atmosphere. All round, a fantastic experience. We were looking for a Greek restaurant with good food and friendly staff, and this one vastly exceeded our expectations. We will be back as often as possible!

Gem of a place. Phenomenal food. We shared the ‘Mezze Platter’ between the two of us and ate absolutely everything. Chose the house Greek wine - was sceptical due to dodgy Greek holiday wines but it was really nice. Also great value prices. Host/chef was also a great character. Our friends really enjoyed the vegetarian option of Moussaka which they couldn’t finish (took the rest home). Highly recommended

Some of the best fresh Greek food we’ve ever tasted ! We came here for my mums birthday after a holiday to Greece last year, we shared the Meze board which had some really good authentic Greek dishes, the pitta was SO fresh and all of the other food tasted incredible ! We stumbled across Achilles after a quick Google search for nearby Greek Food. We called ahead and they held a little table for us and were so lovely the moment we arrived. The staff, the food and the service was so lovely. We will 100% be back to visit, thank you for a lovely evening!

My friend and I had such a fantastic evening here. The food was soooo good - every single dish that we ordered was beautiful and so, so delicious! I’m glad we saved a tiny bit of room for dessert though because honestly, the baklava was the BEST I have ever had!! We were made to feel so welcome and had a lovely few hours catching up, whilst being so well looked after by everyone. It’s not often you can go somewhere for a meal and not get rushed out to make way for the next people, but it was the total opposite - we were encouraged to take our time, stay as long as we liked and I genuinely can’t wait to come back! We have travelled from Australia to visit family. They took us here for a nice family dinner! Wow just wow 👌 the food is nothing like we have ever tasted before. The flavours were bang on and the whole experience was 10/10. Maria and her husband have fantastic customer service and the atmosphere is fantastic. If you are in the area or travelling over this way. This is a place you definitely want to visit or put on your list. I promise it won't dispoint. Went for lunch midweek with a friend and our toddlers. My friend had never tried Greek food before, Maria the chef brought a couple of things out for her to try before we ordered. Food was incredible and both Maria and Stellis were so friendly and absolutely fantastic with the children.

Had a lovely family birthday. Live music playing, people dancing, welcoming and very Greek. It's a small restaurant as well so other tables joined us in dancing and we even went into the street at one point. Food was good, small menu but will have something to suit everyone. Ordered take away off of Rochdale eats, food was fantastic, so tasty and fresh and hot and I loved the hand cut chips they were perfect! And the spinach pastry was to die for. Food is beautiful and the staff are great the only downside is the size of the place but apart from that it is a great Greek restaurant.

Such a lovely place. Very quaint with a great family atmosphere and great food. Stel (The owner) even got his Matsika (Greek Guitar) and let me try it out and then continued to play a Greek song with his wife singing along. Unfortunately I do not live local, otherwise I would be here almost every night for the amazing people and food. Can't wait to return :)

We had lunch today at the Achilles, it was our first time in a Greek restaurant. Marie warmly welcomed us and suggested to try the sharing Meze menù. Everything was delicious, the portions very generous and we had a great time. The staff was polite and friendly. Highly recommended!

I chose to order a take away from Achillies for my birthday and it made my day. It was like being sat in beautiful Greece again. Arrived extremely quickly, hot and lovely friendly delivery man. I can't wait to order again!!!
