Hi we ordered a takeaway legally as per covid ! We live only an 8 minute drive away, we were told 20 minutes for collection and we arrived in good time to no que and left for home at around 20 minutes later ! We ordered chicken pakora which was cold ! A portion of chicken tikka masala and it was grainy almost as though the yogurt wasn’t fresh as the sauce looked sandy and was slightly gritty in texture, we also ordered a chicken Korma and the sauce was the same but also spicy (which Korma isn’t supposed to be). With both mains we ordered fried pilau rice which was also cold but even worse when you opened the containers the rice came out in rectangular lumps and it didn’t want to separate and clumped together. The rice was definitely reheated from probably the day before as we ordered our meal at 5.30pm ish. I ordered from this shop on the TripAdvisor ratings and having ordered a starter and 2 main courses if 1 thing was going to be disappointing then fair enough but for the whole meal to be crap then I suggest the owners have had a big hand in the ratings for their establishment. I also at the point of ordering our meal made a point of telling the guy on the phone that this was the 1st time I had ordered from them as their ratings looked great. I will definitely not be spending my hard earned cash in this establishment again disappointed is an understatement !

Friends suggested to order chicken pakora from this takeaway as i had to try. It was really worth of money and taste. The authentic taste of cumin garanam manasala and the tender soft chicken with the sause was too juice as it fulfilled my mind and mouth. Really a must try options.

Having moved to the area just over 1 year ago, due to work etc we've not had as much opportunity to sample local eateries as we'd hoped. Nonetheless, doing what we can & when. Quality of food at Aamaya is ok, standard Indian fare. That's NOT the issue. Whilst the service is also ok, staff welcoming, friendly, eager to please, there were some misunderstandings due to language. The main issue - the menus. One thing which drew us in, Thali, advertised outside at £8.95. Which does NOT feature on any of the menus. Also, the drinks package options were confusing, contradictory. Seeking clarification, asking questions, resulted in greater confusion. Would only return if simplified deals, offers, menus were available.

This is lovely restaurant and food is good but right now they have a menu on that £23 for a two course meal with 4 drinks. I am not a big drink person and ask for them to do a deal for two drinks and told because it Christmas they would not. So if every come will be make sure is not that menue. Would not say it was not worth £23 pound

Lunch was, as per the title, very average served in adequate portions for the time of day. As side order of popadoms and spiced onion was awful. The popadoms were chewy and probably left over from the night before. At £3.95 they were shocking.

This restaurant is very traditional in the sense of Indian restaurants in central Scotland and in many ways this is no bad thing. The food is of a very good standard and at a very reasonable price. They cater well for those who have to have a gluten free diet as well as vegetarians. No faults to find.

We have just returned from another amazing meal at this restaurant - the old Manzil. The chicken tikka starters were sublime, chargrilled, flavoursome and moist. We then had the chicken tikka ceylonese korma. I requested green chillies to be added to mine and the result was amazing flavour. Their garlic nan is a sensible portion with loads of garlic butter and soft and crispy in all the right places! Fabulous value for money and have already planned a return visit with friends.

Lots of lovely tasting meals from Aamaya. They do deals including drinks which as good value for money. Unfortunately the restaurant seems a little dated and needs to be updated to be brought up to modern standards. Still visit again due to excellent value for money but not a very modern trendy place to go in my opinion

A group of us meet for dinner and the service was friendly. However the food was sub par. We had a grilled lamb dish which seriously treated your teeth. Have you ever tried to eat your boots? Imagine the sensation would have been similar. As for the Peshwari naan, well it was thin and crispy and lacking in the Peshwari department. The rest of the food was very average, no thrills or frills here.

I have been to Aamaya a few times now since it was changed over from Café Manzil. I usually go midweek, so nice and quiet but always a few other tables in over the course. The owners/staff are always very friendly and get you sorted out straight away so no hanging about. The menu has a good selection of dishes covering the westernised dishes we have come to like along with a few more traditional dishes creeping in there, as is becoming the normal at a few places finally. So far I haven’t had a bad dish and my standard of trying out the vegetable pakora as a bench mark got the thumbs up. The sides too were all up to scratch, with good rice and decent naan bread. They have a few wines listed (although never tried them) and also have a few lagers on tap and in large bottles which are priced well along with the soft drinks etc. It’s another restaurant in Hamilton that offers good value so is a relatively inexpensive meal out. My only negative is it can take some time to get the bill and then pay, just a wee something they could try and improve on.

The owner served me, a nice friendly gentleman, so I'll just be going back here from now on with my family, the lunch was £13;40 a bargain

This was the first time I had been to Cafe Manzil, now known as Aamaya's (There are various spellings). If there had been a 3.5 stars, I would have gladly awarded that. It is above average but not quite good enough yet, in my perception, for "very good". The food was fine, although in no way spectacular. The lamb and chicken dishes we shared were low on actual meat content and very high on sauce. The modest of house red wine was priced on the menu at £13.95. yet we were charged £14.95 which I found irksome. The service was fine - competent and cheerful. There is some room for improvement. I wish them well and trust that they do not find this feedback discouraging.

Following recommendations from others, four of us visited this new restaurant (Aamaya) recently (formerly Cafe Mazil). Our favourite starters, onion rings and pakora, were very enjoyable matching the best we have received anywhere. The mains, two chicken tikka dishes were excellent. However, the two king prawn tikka dishes were very poor with the prawns in both dishes overcooked to the extend they were barely edible. For feedback purposes, we did point this out to the manager/owner at the end of our meal who at best appeared to be disinterested in our comments. I have rated this dining experience average on the basis of the other much better mains (tikka chicken).

This is yet another Indian restaurant on our doorstep. Do not know how long this has been on the go, used to be The Manzil, has now changed owners. Can I just say we are just back from a meal tonight and were absolutely delighted from start to finish. Reasonably quiet but it was rather early we booked a meal for, the prices are extremely good and the quality and quantity food was excellent. The sharing platter was the only Indian restaurant I have been in that the mushroom pakora was not dripping with grease when you bit into it. It was literally the only sharing plater which we have had and didn't finish because of the amount. The mains came with plenty of nan bread and the amount of sauce given with the curry was more than enough. Value for money it was excellent. Well worth a visit. Or maybe 2/3/4/. Lovely.

Let me start with the positives. The atmosphere is good, the staff attentive to a degree, the food is good. I should really finish the review here on a positive, and that's how I would have finished this review but for one thing...my partner and I paid a return visit and were a little disappointed. I enjoy a beer with my curry and on our first visit the draught Cobra beer did not disappoint. However on our return visit it tasted strongly of chemical (probably cleaning chemical used in cleaning the glasses or the draught pipes) I drew this to the attention of the waitress who offered no apology; no offer to replace (glass was three-quarters full) but hey-ho. The starters arrived and were every bit as tasty as they had been on our previous visit. The main course was a *slight* disappointment: not as tangy as the same dish had been 2 weeks previously. It was, in fact, a bit bland. I'm not a big fan of whiny, complaining customers. I feel there are too many folk out there too quick to criticise. However I do believe in being honest in my appraisals when asked. So when asked if we had enjoyed our meal I replied "Well it was a wee bit disappointing compared with a couple of weeks ago". This was met with a stony silence (could it be that I was actually being glared at?) So, we have not returned. We enjoy good food, good service and a good dining atmosphere. Aamaya had the potential for all three, and possibly it still has that potential. We will probably never find out.

We have just returned from the Aamaya after having a delicious meal. I have never been before however my partner has been a few times with family, and they return. It is the first time my partner has completely finished and Indian meal, it was delicious! We ordered a starter of Fish Pakora, it was initially just for me however the portion was so big we shared it. It was cooked to perfection and very enjoyable. For main I had South Indian Garlic Chicken which again was cooked to perfection and tasted delicious, it had plenty of chicken and the sauce was hot but no so much that you couldn't taste the spices. My partner had Chicken Dopiaza which as I said earlier she thought was delicious, so much so she completely finished it, a first! We also has rice and a garlic nan bread to share. The nan bread is excellent, nice and thin.Finishing of with a coffee and pint of Cobra, it was all very tasty and enjoyable. The staff are very friendly and in a perfectly balanced way take time to come and speak to you without being overbearing. We noticed that also do a takeaway service, which appears to be very busy.Would we go back? Oh yes, and next time it's a Chicken Madras for me!Thank you for an excellent time.

Visited here after driving by it on a number of occasions and saw advert for a buffet at £9.99 so decided to give it a try. The food is nice & the one staff member who spoke to us was friendly enough but as a buffet it could be much better - offering chips & more choices would improve it. Starters there was only about six to choose from, its the same with curries but I did like those on offer like lamb bhoona, south indian garlic chilli, chicken tikka masala & korma. It is plain nan only and either boiled or fried rice.Kids under 12 eat free per one paying adult so that was good value for us. For drinks we asked for glasses of water & were given bottles of water at a charge of £4.50 for 3 of them. At the buffet there is a notice stating it will only be bottles of water (not tap water). I agree with previous reviewer about giving customers more information, the buffet is set out in a small area with two food stations, we had to ask if we should help ourselves and then again to see if desserts are included as nothing out on display. The 'choice' of desserts offered was just plain vanilla ice cream, one scoop was served. I also wasnt sure if it was ice cream & tea/coffee or either one or the other - a menu stating whats included would help as I wonder if I hadnt asked whether it would be offered. Another pet hate of mine is staff watching over you at the buffet, the staff seemed to huddle near the buffet area but its not in a friendly, happy to help way. There is also a notice saying £3 charge for food wastage & overall it just felt a tad uncomfortable, almost as if they are watching what you are taking from the buffet.Overall as a restaurant I would still reccommend it for a nice meal in nice surroundings but the buffet as its being offered is in too small an area with not enough choice & sort out issues as expressed above.

We visited here last week. As wee walked in were were sat at a table in the window which had 3 seats crammed against the back wall which we could not squeeze out the gap. Because of the length of the table it meant that i had to sit over 2 seats which was not comfortable. We sat for about 10 mins before one of our party had to go and ask if we could order food or help our self to the buffet (the people sitting at the booth behind us were also whispering to each other "should we just go up?")When we asked to see the menu we got some funny looks so we just all went for the buffet. We went to get started and there was one popadom which we had to share between 4 of us (this was not replenished our entire visit, even when another two table came in later on) The starters was tasty but only enough for 1 piece from each of the selection of 4. When i went back expecting them to have put fresh stuff out (which they hadn't) i had to ask for more starters, so i moved onto the curry again it was tasty but all the chicken was gone from in it and it was just sauce. Another women got in before me and asked for me. Went and sat back down... it finally came out and when to get some and there were no chips ... In a buffet restaurant the staff should be on top of what is empty/running out and fill it up.It was a joke, really really disappointing. We all left hungry
