9 Fish & Chips in Forest of Dean

There is no real possibility of leaving a review for the #9 fish-and-chip shop which no longer exists!

Under cooked chips for our second visit this month, they’re in the bin, absolutely tasteless. So disappointed as we’ve had some amazing food from here. No more chances though, we’ll go end where.

El fish 'n' chips en el n. ° 9 venció a cualquier otro chippy de Gloucester, ya sea en el centro de la ciudad o en los suburbios: ¡los he probado todos! Antes del "bloqueo", iba allí semanalmente y ahora estoy muy contento porque, una vez más, es mi comida semanal "imprescindible" y cada semana desde que se reabrió el número 9 se vuelve aún mejor y más grande. Hoy fue tan bueno que pensé, bueno, ¿cómo pagar un servicio tan bueno? Tripadvisor por supuesto. Aqui estamos. . . genial, gracias!

Aunque posiblemente sea un poco lento, el tamaño de las porciones fue muy bueno y la calidad tanto del bacalao como de las patatas fritas fue excelente. Definitivamente regresaría si en la zona.

He estado varias veces y la comida siempre está bien preparada y bien presentada. La tienda es grande y está impecablemente limpia. El personal es amable y eficiente y los tiempos de espera son bajos. Muy buen pescado y papas fritas y una encantadora tienda de papas fritas cerca de nuestra casa. Bien hecho, sigan con el buen trabajo. Me encanta el hecho de que use cajas, establece su comida al siguiente nivel en términos de presentación.

I had a yearning for some good old fashioned fish and chips, so tried #9. The food and service were good and the prices excellent. My only negative is that the fish was huge and enough for three as well as enough chips for three as well. I would happily pay the same price asked, if I could have requested a very much smaller portion, as the amount of waste was great. Perhaps offering mall portions on request could be available.

This was my first visit & I will deff be going back. I ordered cod & large chips. They cooked the fresh fish right in front of me & the chips were just coming out the fryer as I paid my money. They put the chips & fish in separate boxes which is great as others use paper & put them in together which squashes the fish. It was a bit more in price than I usually pay elsewhere but after eating it ALL I am happy to pay that price - IT WAS BEAUITFUL!

Excellent service from the lad with the "meet me at McDonalds hair" think they called him Josh. Hands down best chippy in the area and the lads chips were fresh and crispy like kis hair.

Fancied fish and chips after a day shopping with the wife. I don't know Gloucester so I searched for somewhere nearby. Google sent me here and the reviews were pretty good so off we went. Easy to find, plenty of onsite parking and just off the dual carriageway. I fancy myself as a fish and chip expert 😀 and these didn't disappoint. Excellent crispy batter without drying out the fish. Cooked to order. Very nice Would definitely return.

Went there last night after a long day of gardening! Not been here before. Chips were fabulous, my daughter said the sausage was nice and not cheap like many other chip shops! Comes in boxes so can recyle them. Will be going back what a find! Ample parking, bit confusing the exit need to go through a complex of houses!

The one and only best fish and chip shop in Gloucestershire , Fish is to die for, the batter is full of flavour and 100% white flaky Cod , Chips are Yummy Too .

Normally I try to find a positive... I’m struggling! Really slow and bordering on rude service, I took enough money for two people to get a decent chippy dinner but here that meant not enough! It’s pricy! I thought maybe the positive was that it’s expensive an I waited ages so it must be fresh etc.... nope! It’s undercooked yet tastes like it was cooked last week... hearing microwaves ding and seeing them make sauce with a kettle and powder really shows how poor the quality is! There are much better options nearby!

Always well cooked and very helpful staff who, as I’m on crutches, always offer me a chair whilst I’m waiting and automatically carry my food out to car for me if I’m on my own & unable to manage

Decent size portions, reasonable prices, very friendly customer service and exceptionally clean. Easy to park up. Will visit again. Recommend.

I used No. 9 regularly and find that they provide a consistently good product which represents value for money. Staff are always polite and attentive. The premises are also always clean and tidy. Who could ask for anything more?

#9 Fish and Chips is situated just off the Bristol Road on the approach to Quedgeley from the general direction of Gloucester, and is at the junction entrance to the Olympus Park Estate. It is part of the site where the old Orchard Beefeater Restaurant once was, which is now a hotel. For those travelling by car, with GPS Sat Nav., it can be reached by entering POSTCODE GL2 4SA.

Lovely crispy batter and a large piece of cod. Great taste for both fish and chips
