Purely and simply for the attitude, friendliness and attention to detail of the young lady who served me at the bar. I only wanted a half pint of cider to break a part of my hike. She made me feel like royalty. Very impressive. Didn't eat there so I can't comment . An update due for the decor? That is probably pedantic so I crave your forgiveness. The problem for the Cayley Flyer in my view is keeping up with the growing metro sexual culture that pervades Rhos on Sea. Go for it! 😎

First time in the Valley and to be fair it was not the best. It had been a scorching day and the town was busy. Ordered some drinks and found out they were out of most soft drinks including lemonade. Ordered the carvery as we were hungry and it was hot and presented nicely. However there was very little choice due to food shortage and what was available had been out a while. Edit. Visited again today for the carvery and it was very good. Prompt service from bar with friendly staff. Carvery was quick and easy.

We were first in, great fish and chips, really good service well impressed. The pub was almost full when we left.

First visit for sometime, recently been refurbished ,alot cleaner than before,pleasant service ,obviously very quiet for this time of year.

Just had a lovely Sunday carvery, the food was delicious and not at all dry like often found at a Toby carvery and the service was lovely, very friendly and welcoming, will definitely be back here!

Sunday carvery is excellent value.

Visited here for a Sunday carvery, fairly standard carvery fare but friendly and welcoming service. Gravy tasted a little sweet to me but perhaps that's a personal preference rather than anything to complain about.

Lovely carvery, plenty of choice and extremely tasty. I only wish I could have finished all that was on my plate.

Nice place to go for a drink and a meal

Went in recently and was told that the restaurant part would not be open for a few months. We were really disappointed as they used to do amazing hunters chicken, but now the music is far too loud and not enough selection of drinks. This may have changed since I last went in, but it’s a shame nonetheless.

Food portion was good, service not so good

Shocked at how poor the service is here. Lad had a puffer jacket and a baseball cap on behind the bar. No real ales on ever and loud music. In my opinion it should be a gold mine but it's always empty. If you are thinking of coming here for food and drink I would just walk past and down the prom to the toad instead.

This time not as good as previously asked for a serviette & they'd ran out and what they brought looked like toilet tissue perforated at each end not really any choice of sweets just fruit and ice cream or chocolate fudge the 'chef' was not wearing any whites or hat just jeans, trainers and black tee-shirt mmm will be giving it a miss for a while

No atmosphere - not cooking the day I called.

Staff fine but I ordered scampi and what was served was scampi shaped but that was it's only likeness. It was a small cylindrical shape of tasteless watery mush covered in breadcrumbs. Even the dog wouldn't eat it!!!

Used to be a good place to eat. Went today, good Friday. With other half. Both Had fish and chips. Portion was like fish finger. Waitress said last piece of fish so cut in half. When asked to see manager Was told. " tough mate, it is what it is". Charming

Wouldn’t even give it a star but I had to in order to give a review. Here is a play by play of our meal: -Menus were handwritten on paper, only round about 12 options and 3 were unavailable. -When we ordered the man at the bar has to hand type everything out and it took a very long time. -Man at the bar said the food would only be a little bit longer, would not describe our wait as a little bit longer than normal, is was A LOT longer than normal. -Cheesy garlic bread was soggy and the cheese was like plastic not to mention there was way to much of it. The normal garlic bread didn’t look appetising at all, and didn’t taste of garlic. -The baked beans on the kids meals were hardly luke warm. -The adult meals (specifically the scampi that came with only four pieces and cold peas) were smaller than the kids meals but more expensive. -Just before we went to pay there was a man who complained. After 3 staff surrounded him (dressed in normal clothes not uniform) shouting AT him. The chef came out took some money out of his wallet very angrily, and gave it to him. Not professional. Then he told him to F off and never come back again, in front of a pub full of people including very small children. It was completely inappropriate. -Still 5 minutes later some staff, including a woman who was possibly the owner, were shouting at him. When he left it continued, and to say it was VERY uncomfortable would be an understatement. -Simultaneously, the bar was building up with people needing to be served and a family STILL did Norbert have there meals even though they ordered straight after us. -In fear of the same thing happening to us we reluctantly paid the bill to leave as quickly as possible. SAFE TO SAY WE WOULD IT RECCOMEND, IN FACT, WE STRONGLY ADVISE AGASINT IT!

Best carvery in WALES without a dowt

Nice pub right on seafront of rhos-on-sea been renovated. Only serves food until 5 on a Friday. All the cask ales were not on. Friendly staff.

We had carvery which was delicious, the meat is really tender also the roast potatoes were crunchy and the centre was fluffy This is a very pleasant place, comfortable, and in a relaxed atmosphere I would recommend the Cayley Flyer to anyone,

Staff are absolutely lovely and so accommodating. It's never too packed and you can always find a seat. The food is great. I recommend the steak!

Nice place. Service ok. Good food but often turned away for various reasons. Too early, too late, no chief, there's a party later etc. Gave up trying in the end! Times given on website not accurate!

Very poor and didnt deserve this star. We called in for food while on holiday in June. My wife ordered salad with anchovies and chicken. The chicken was not properly cooked and the salad under the top few leaves was wilted and old and past its best. Very unapetising. My wife could not face eating it. We complained and was asked if she would like anything else After the disapointment my wife did not want to stay. No refund was offered so we left. Will never go there again.

Just a standard pub with standard pub food these so what most of the other pubs runs mainly fatty foods so if you would like that kind of foods it's right up your road

Smaller selection of alcohol than I expected and is a bit more expensive than I'd like (about £3.50 for a pint) but had an overall fun atmosphere and friendly staff that lead to a pretty good experience. As locals go, you can't go too wrong!

A nice, well presented pub placed by the seaside makes for good views. Food came out in a speedy fashion and staff were friendly.

We were told no beer and no food till 5pm .We waited and on ordering there was a young man behind the bar swearing. He did get told off but should of known better .We then ordered 3 rump steaks .which was a tough as boot leather .nobody came to ask was our meal ok .so we left the steaks and left .£35 wasted .won't be visiting or recommending again .

Fab pub, dog friendly and the most amazing Fidh&chips, all with friendly service too. Well worth the drive from Nottingham, will be visiting again.

Fantastic food, £14.50 for a carvery with meats and choose your own extra obviously. Includes a coke and a desert. Bargain .

Heard about the new makeover so wanted to take my mum for lunch. Sticky tables, slow bar service and the menu is not available on Sunday's- so no good if you don't want Sunday lunch.

Excellent Sunday carvery, very friendly pub,extremely dog friendly, on sea front at Rhos On Sea ,really welcoming.

We gave the Cayley another go after being disappointed with the service the 1st time, it was a busy Sunday then. However we went on Saturday, it was quiet. The service was still as slow, we had to wait weĺl over half an hour for the food and coffee. Couldn't fault the food, good value but probably give it a miss from now on.
