00BAR in Barnsley

We’ve just been to this bar as we had the Groupon Offer. Cocktails and pizza were excellent. The staff were great they had our table ready and were really helpful. I would definitely recommend this place

Love this place, amazing pizzas, great selection of beer. Sometimes the wait for pizzas is a long time, but it is worth it, if you want a sit down meal then this isn't the place for you, a few pints and a pizza though, spot on! Great staff too

Me and my friends visited here last Saturday evening with a view to getting food. Pizza and a drink for £9 is a good deal. We ordered and waited, and waited and waited. 70mins after the order was placed and to be told that our food would be coming out soon then we decided to leave. We tried to get a full refund but were told we would have to pay for the drinks we'd had. My reasoning for the full refund was that if we had known the food was gonna take 70+ mins to come then we would have never come in for a drink. This has put me and my friends off a place that we really did like. Will not be visiting again.

First time here , wont be the last brilliant service , both lads behind the bar were very chatty and helpful , purchased through Groupon 2 pizza and 2 drinks , great choice of drinks , cocktails were great , real ales and craft beers , pizza cooked to order very fresh and tasty ... perfect The gin and jam cocktails were amazing 😍

Visited on a Saturday afternoon with friends, only one member of staff on the actual bar on a Saturday so took a while getting served, good cocktail selection and drinks in general. However the pizza I had was a let down. Had the Italian, which comes with Parma ham and meatballs on honestly wouldn’t bother again. The Parma ham was cooked which though it can be, is meant to be eaten raw so the taste was abit ruined and the meatballs tasted like rubbish cheap veggie sausage rolls. £9 for a pizza and a pint not a bad price however honestly wouldn’t bother eating here again, pizza wasn’t that nice and with another two pizza reasturants in town that are literally two minutes apart I would rather spend my money there.

We came here last night with a Groupon voucher for 2 - a pizza and cocktail each (see photos). Now I rarely drink alcohol, but the cocktails were absolutely gorgeous. Hubby had Gin & Jam (so fruity - reminded me of being on holiday in the sun) and I had the Jaffa Cake Martini (this one just reminded me of Christmas). If funds allowed I could have happily gone through the cocktail menu and sampled them all. To eat, I had the Yorkshire pizza and it was divine - it actually had thin CRISPY bacon on it, just how I like it, none of that horrible thick undercooked bacon that so many places serve, where you have to tackle a load of fat before you can eat it. The sausage on it was delicious too, and whilst I don't normally like blue cheese, it really worked on this pizza. Hubby had the Mexican pizza which he said was the best he'd ever had. I can take some spice but personally it was a bit too hot for me. I definitely want to come back for the Yorkshire pizza again. I heard they do a Christmas pizza (obviously at Christmas time) so I will defo be back for that one if they do it this year. But I want to visit many times before then and will be bringing my teenagers too as I know they will love it. The bar is really modern and, whilst the music was louder than what I am used too (I rarely go into town centre bars), it wasn't so loud that you couldn't have a convo. I really liked it actually. Beats being somewhere that has no atmosphere and is so silent you can hear a pin drop. One last thing, the staff left you alone (which I LOVED). None of that pressure of someone coming to your table every 2 mins asking if you want more drinks, or asking how the food is. You can just eat, drink and talk without interruption. Wonderful :)

Poor service and rubbish cocktail. One member of staff behind bar on a busy Saturday evening. Didn’t know who to serve next, it’s not a big bar . Porn star martini served with no passion fruit or prosecco. Tasted rubbish as well. My husband enjoyed his pint of Blue Moon though.

My partner and I received a groupon voucher for Xmas and finally made it in tonight 24.01.19. Upon entering the bar I was served and I explained we had booked a table for 7 so the bar manager pointed out a table that was free. Although not busy the bar man who I believe was a manager explained nothing further .. for example .. is it waitered service ect ... After 5 minutes we realised all orders were through the bar so I went and enquiried at the bar and sorted my order... The food was fantastic although don’t go crazy on the starters as they are amazing also but they are huge!! The pizza 🍕 was terrific also but struggled with it due to the starters! The only other down side is that my girlfriend was freezing and had to sit with her coat on. If this bar added a bit of service to the quality of the food it would be a real winner ! Oh and and some heaters!

We had 4 pizzas and a drink each, all the pizzas were lovely but my Christmas pizza with pigs in blankets on was easily the best 😋 I also had a Jaffa Cake cocktail which was also delicious. We will definitely be returning. Noticed they also do take away pizzas, which may be worth a try. Service was friendly and helpful, pizzas are made to order so if you don’t want one of the toppings it can be removed.

First time visit to this very welcoming place in Barnsley. The staff are absolutely delightful. The gorgeous Charlotte made us an excellent cocktail and the lovely chef delivered us two of the best pizzas we have ever tasted. We tried the Yorkshire one and was not disappointed. Both were absolutely scrumptious. Thank you guys for a perfect end to our day out. We will definitely be back soon.

This review is based on my 'take away' experience; and reflects the quality of food and menu choices and not the venue itself. I'm always interested in new places to eat in Barnsley and this one caught my eye when surfing for a pizza take away. Menu choice was good and not cluttered with pizzas that were too similar to each other. Pleasantly surprised to see beer on the menu to order. A Big Bonus!! Went with something you don't see everyday; their Yorkshire Pizza, plus their 4 beer offer. Pizza delivered hot, not burnt, not soggy and intact. Great taste and filling, eyes bigger than belly the large 16" is definitely a pizza for 2. Based on this takeaway I will be walking into town and visiting 00bar in person. The only niggle is, it would be fantastic to have a Yorkshire beer with the Yorkshire Pizza. Any chance of getting an Acorn Brewery Ale on the menu? Keep up the good work

Very good deal with a pizza and a pint for £8. Didn't expect much from the food in such a deal, but the Mexican pizza was excellent.

Taken over as goto place on a Saturday before football. Quality pizza love the Mexican with loads of topping, great base. Then a pint as part of the deal for £8 how can you go wrong Well recommended

We’ve been twice now for their delicious pizzas and pints. I’m always looking for something unique with regards to a pizza, and their Yorkshire pizza is outstanding. The stuffed dough ball starters are fantastic as well, make sure to try their dipping sauce. The staff have been lovely and attentive on each visit. Thanks very much, we’ll definitely come again.

We went into town for something to eat and drink but had no plans only to try out the new places in town. We were walking past 00BAR and were tempted in by a BOGOF offer on drinks. The staff were very friendly and welcoming especially a young girl who encouraged us to stay and try the pizza. We were so glad we did! The pizzas were delicious and authentic. The place is open and airy which is perfect on a hot summer evening. It felt different to eating in a restaurant, more laid back, with a continental atmosphere. A round of four drinks, four large pizzas, two garlic breads were less than £50. I would definitely recommend.

Came here today with some friends and all ordered pizzas within two or three minutes of each other. It took over half an hour for the food to arrive and then two of us received our pizzas. We first waited for the rest of the table to get their good but ours was getting cold so we started, and we were at least half of the way through it before the other two people got theirs, with no apology or acknowledgement. Pizza was delicious and really tasty, so that was a definite positive. The lack of cutlery meant I couldn't cut any up for my toddler, and there were no napkins, so I had to pass the wet wipes round. We didn't have a check back to see if the food was OK, and we stayed for a good half an hour after finishing eating without our plates being cleared - it was only as they saw us packing up to leave that they were cleared away. This place could be great with some staff training in attentiveness!

When here on a Friday night was not sure what to expect, The Bar is well stocked with 16 pumps full on different beers that you don't always see in Barnsley which makes a big difference, not just johns and fosters.

This place has a good selection of drinks, friendly staff and inoffensive decor. It seems to have a decent crowd which is a refreshing change.

This bar has some good beers, but when the bar staff are wearing coats it puts you off some what, it is not very welcoming. The place itself is nice, decorated well it is just lacking something, which is a shame.

Both me and my wife have been in a few times to this bar. Today we called in again, to be toldthat they hadn't any wine????. This happened a few weeks ago at around the same time, mid afternoon. The bar maid used an excuse that it had snowed and this had caused the delay. It didn't snow in Barnsley!!

Called in as we were passing on way to somewhere else. We had heard people discuss it and we were impressed by it’s “kerb appeal” and great atmosphere. We were made very welcome by staff and there is a great selection of craft beers and spirits as opposed to the generic fare at most places. We didn’t eat but the food looked and smelled beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed its clean style and friendly atmosphere - coupled with a great selection of lesser known drinks on sale. Will definitely go back and would recommend. Great to see this type of location appearing within the town centre.

We visited here on a recent night out and decided to have pizza and cocktails during our visit. The pizzas were good value for money, rustic and tasty - we shared 3 between 5 of us and that was plenty. The choice of drinks was also good and staff were friendly and helpful.

This is a great, well needed new bar in Barnsley town centre. A lot of the old bars aren't particulaly inviting but this one is. It's clean, modern and a great bar to head for a drink or three.
