Fantastic pub set in the Shropshire countryside, Serves great Real ale.

We are longstanding customers of Bharat and The Lion before it and visited recently with friends, it was the first time since Raj left. Unfortunately the food was disappointing and so was the service. Gone are the friendly staff; one of the waiters didn’t even understand us let alone chat to us. Barat was always a treat because it was a bit on the pricey side but it was always very good. We probably won’t go back now after 25+ years.

What an absolute gem of a restaurant. Full transparency the owners son (Bobby) is a workmate and he recommended we visit. Got to know Bobby on a volunteer day climbing Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) raising money for Mental Health UK and Kenny (aka mountain goat) and Myself had promised Bobby we would get a group to come over and visit. You don’t invite 20+ of your work mates unless your confident the food is good and boy we were not disappointed. It’s a family run restaurant just outside Telford and cannot speak highly enough of the owners, the friendly welcome and most importantly the quality of the food. Many of us travelled the good hour from Chester and no one left disappointed or hungry! It has a real family friendly feel about the place. It’s got a great little bar to get drinks. We were on a bit of a timer with mini bus so it was poppadom’s all round and straight into the mains. Huge selection, I went for a personal favourite Poppadom’s, Lamb Dhansak, Pila rice, Chips and Peshwari Naan and Kenny has gone Poppadom's, Chicken Tikka main, jalfrezi sauce, chips, plain naan. Both meals absolutely spot on. A fantastic few hours in great company with wonderful hosts at the Bharat Indian restaurant. Highly recommended.

I am writing this direct from the Flower pot cafe.. I don’t want to write this review but after 6 interventions trying to get 2 pots of tea, a tea cake and a scone correct I lost my appetite and patience. Here the list of issues 1. Having ordered our choices as above other clients were served before us after being seated after us. 2. I went to the desk and could see my tea cake sitting on the tray - on serving it was cold and the button was rock hard so could spread it and ripped the bread apart 3. It was a large tea cake but second visit for an additional butter. 4. My wife knifes for her scone was dirty from the tip to the top of the handle. 5. Having now rescued a new knife there was no sugars or sweetener provided - up again ! 6. All must be ok now ? - no there were no tea spoons provided Seriously this is extremely poor service and at £2 a pot and a bill for £9.90 I think it deserves a mention and I would like to see an acknowledgement from the owner. Disappointed.. wasn't hot, barely warm. Ordered pekingspecial as one dish, it didn't resemble the description given.. think it was the wrong dish!
