Hours to kill before catching our flight to Budapest for a week's holiday so we decided to drop into this airport KFC. A small outlet, neat and tidy ,looks rather cool . We got a burger & fries meal, service was surprisingly quick and pleasant and burger meals really good ,thing is you know what you're getting, a nice unpretentious chicken burger meal. We really enjoyed our meals here before we moved on and for a first time visit to this particular KFC we had a great time, its easy to locate in departures Manchester Airport.

Venue is on two floors , The ground floor is where you will find the most expensive club bar I have ever visited and the first floor area is far too small.

I was attending a conference at the Brook's building and I decided to order a cup of tea from the café by the main entrance. The tea was your standard offering and the service was quick enough. As this place is located on campus, they charge a reduced rate for refreshments which is always a plus. I then saw an advertisement on the LED screen regarding breakfast baps. Intrigued, I ventured over the counter to have a look at what delicious items they were offering that morning. There was just one problem. This place had ran out of breakfast items...at breakfast! The shelves were bare so the only things you could really order were hot drinks! I wouldn't mind but it was a Monday, so nowhere near the end of the week! Also, this is yet another outlet that insists you pay by card, meaning they discriminate against people who wish to use legal tender which outside the University bubble is legal tender. Overall, it's not a bad place for a brew however please be advised that you're probably better looking for leftover scraps of snacks in the lecture theatres than banking on getting food from this café.

I love Pret but there was a dog in there and it was sat on a chair. On this occasion Pret was very busy, chairs are for customers not animals. Animals don't keep businesses afloat people do. Pret should take that into accout before allowing dogs to sit on chsirs

If you’re patient enough to wait half an hour for this place, then you’ll be happy. Very long queues, mostly as there’s not enough signage that helps people chose their drinks while waiting- hence people at the cash desk looking to chose what they want. Add some boards elsewhere, and not just above the sales counter.

After a lengthy journey from Glasgow to Manchester, I found myself having a late-night meal at the Crowne Plaza Manchester Airport’s “The Grill” restaurant. I decided to enjoy a repast here following the front desk’s statement that the restaurant served up “classic English dishes;” thus, I figured this would be a grand opportunity to partake in some English fish & chips, which is exactly what I ordered. But more on that in a moment. The Crowne Plaza (Manchester Airport) describes The Grill thusly: “Stylish contemporary restaurant offering a wide choice of modern cuisine in a relaxed and informal atmosphere.” I’m not exactly sure what makes this establishment “stylish” or “contemporary.” To my mind it was quite generic, even for a hotel restaurant. It’s basically a large open space adjacent to the lobby. The main restaurant area is lined with small white-topped tables with black chairs. There’s sparse artwork on the walls, but it adds little to the overall atmosphere and environment. Indeed, even the hotel’s propaganda photos on their official website cannot properly hide the lifeless physical space. To The Grill’s credit, their dinner menu actually sounded attractive on paper. As noted above, I settled on their classic English fish & chips. The food came in good time and looked decent enough; however, appearances can be deceiving – as I quickly found out. My piece of fish was impressive in its size, BUT when I bit into said fish, not only did I almost break my teeth, but all I ended up getting was a mouthful of crunchy batter. It turns out that literally HALF the “piece of fish” was nothing more than batter . . . and the fish that was there was paper thin and dry (see photo). To add insult to injury, my steak fries were barely warm. I’d be doing readers a disservice if I failed to mention the service received during dinner. In short, it was ho-hum. I’d first intended to eat a meal at the Hotel Bar (located in the same space as The Grill, but separated by a brown railing enclosure); however, after sitting for about 10-minutes without any form of acknowledgement, I moved down in to the restaurant section. Here, service was rather cold. The server showed up to take my order and then disappeared until I flagged him down to satisfy my bill. For a 4-star hotel, their restaurant staff is pretty mediocre. What saves The Grill from the dreaded 1-star rating is the breakfast buffet I enjoyed the following morning. It was well laid out and easily beats any sort of breakfast buffet you might get in North America. It featured a nice assortment of pastries, jellies, eggs, fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, fruit juices, beans, tomatoes, sausages, breakfast spuds, ham and cold cuts. In short, I was left satisfied just before embarking upon my trans-Atlantic journey. FOOD: 2/5 SERVICE: 1/5 VALUE: 2.5/5 RECOMMENDATION: I’m not sure if I just chose the wrong item, but the fish & chips that were had here was nothing short of abysmal. I can honestly say I’ve had better fish out of the grocer’s freezer. Breakfast, though, was decent. In the unlikely event I attend the Crowne Plaza (Manchester Airport) again, I would likely patronize Sampans Oriental Restaurant because at least their propaganda photos look appealing. I ordered here off Deliveroo, I ordered a cowboy burger and the 10 chicken pieces set meal which included 4 fries and a 1.5 litre drink as seen in the picture above . The food arrived on time however only the chicken and the burger arrived. The burger was ok, nothing to brag about and definitely was not worth £10 even with 50% off, the chicken was good. We quickly called up and spoke to a arrogant and rude woman who clearly did not want to be there regarding the missing food. First she claimed that we hadn’t ordered fries and therefore we wouldn’t be getting them. After arguing with myself and my partner, we finally got through to her that we had ordered fries with the set meal. She then said they would be coming soon and promptly hung up. This was at 8pm, it’s almost 12am and I’m still yet to receive them. I will not be ordering again, not because of the missing items but due to the horrific customer service. If I owned this restaurant, I’d consider finding someone else to answer the phone.

Went in after drinks, the place looked dirty. stupidly I overlooked this because I was drunk. We were the only customers in the shop after waiting 45 min I asked when the food would be ready. Guy behind the counter started shouting at us. Just asked for a refund and left.
