The best restaurants in Abbey Dumfries & Galloway Lowlands

Took family for dinner and was very disappointed with both the service and the food which was overpriced. Anchor used to be a real favourite of mine. This was my first visit in 4 years and sadly based on my experience on this occasion, I wouldn’t recommend.

We’ve been twice over the last 6 months and one meal was lovely and the other had an issue. I had the chicken Parmy-which was lovely. My girlfriend had the Aubergine biggie course which was quite bland and watery. Dog friendly which is a bonus.

In Dalbeattie High Street. There is parking nearby. We had an amazing soup with bread which was needed on a November day. We followed this with cakes & coffee. The coffee was good. Friendly staff. Good toilets. Attached shop with some luxury food/drink items. Prices very reasonable.
