Love this place tucked away behind Downhill forest. Does the best coffee and also so many lovely treats. The atmosphere is serene and to top it off you can sit out the back surrounded by peacocks. I usually attend with my partner but would also bring my nieces as they love feeding the peacocks and the drinking yummy hot chocolates. Dan, Rebekah and the rest of the team always welcome us with the biggest smiles. Definitely a must go for tourists (&locals) visiting the North Coast - no other place like it. oh and it’s also dog friendly :)

Lovely little spot. Came here for lunch and was not disappointed. Food was well presented and full of flavour. Great price quality ratio. Service was great too, everyone really friendly. Can’t recommend enough.

Stopped for lunch with my partner, daughter and our dog. Waited and was seated by a member of staff in an area which was off the bar. Ordered food which was lovely. We all enjoyed our meal until the last few bites when a women who I can only assume was a member of management, stood at the other side of the restaurant and in a loud, abrupt manner and proceeded to raise her voice and inform us that our dog was not allowed in the area we where eating! In shock, as I wasn't even sure who she was talking to as she did not approach our table or introduce herself I realised she was speaking to us!!! "Dogs are not allowed in this area, in future do not have your dog here" and other comments that I cannot remember. At this she stormed off in the direction of the kitchen, leaving us shocked and annoyed! After all we were seated by a member of staff, the same member of staff who said "oh i didnt know they had a dog " we didn't try and disguise the dog, I didn't hide him under my coat, he was there for all to see, nor where there signs to say No Dogs! My daughter who had wanted a dessert was left confused and annoyed as with this we paid the bill and left. I feel this woman really needs a course in customer service! Had she approached us at the table in a courtesy manner we would have explained that as a customer I am unaware of the policies within the restaurant, if we have a dog with us we need to eat in the bar, which was fine with us, but please don't embarrass us by standing 10ft away, without introduction, infront of my 10 year old daughter to tell us our beloved dog isn't welcome! A dog friendly restaurant it is not!!

The food is good here but unfortunately that is all. The service is horrendous and really lets it down. Staff are ridiculously slow to clear tables and in particular to take orders. On several occasions we called in on a Sunday morning for breakfast and were met by a lengthy queue but when we got to the counter on time to place our order before 12 noon, waitress debated whether to plqce the order at 11:57 and then decided not to so we had to order from the lunch menu instead and we were told 12 was the cut off point for placing a breakfast order despite still being early. We called today at 11:47 to order breakfast and a different waitress told us that the breakfast menu was now finished because the kitchen was backed up and had finished at 11:45 today. Not good enough when we travelled a distance to get there on time. I politely informed her that we had been told 12 noon was the last order time to which she just said we could place an order from the lunch menu but she couldn’t do that until it was 12pm. (So we would have had to stand there and wait for another 15 mins. ) Clearly Waves struggle with handling orders. Due to poor service and inconsistencies, this place is not worth the visit. There are better options with better service that is more deserving of your customer elsewhere. Won’t be back!

Very expensive. Poor service. Very poor quality of food. Won't be back. Could not recommend. Severely over rated. There are many better restaurants locally.
