I took my mother out to lunch today, 19th October 2022. The staff were extremely polite, friendly and helpful. My mother has a very small appetite, she ordered the chowder, it was delicious and beautifully presented. I myself had fish and chips, again very tasty and the presentation was very pleasing to the eye. The restaurant itself was bright with a welcoming atmosphere. Lunch was very reasonably priced. Thank you to the staff of Bushtown for a delightful experience.

We attended the Sunday 5 course carvery 4 days ago , after many people told us it was excellent food. I personally do not know what standards these people go by , but that was by far the worst carvery I've ever had. We were in a vast room at the very back with only one other table occupied so the atmosphere was dead. After taking a drinks order and showing us where to go ,we made our way to the starters, these consisted of dried up burnt chicken wings , runny prawn salad, congealed vegetable soup ,stale pale bread rolls and disgusting kippers ,everything was warm to cold but nothing was HOT and nearly inedible. Then came mains , firstly I believe at a carvery you should be free to serve yourself, but no 2 servers were at the mains , one giving the thinest slice of turkey and ham and the other dishing out veg and potatoes. My daughter who's not a big meat eater loves piling on the potatoes and veg , she was given one small ice cream scoop of mashed potatoes!!!! I asked for cauliflower cheese and was able to stand my fork completely straight up in it it was that hard the exact same with the rock hard carrots. The cauliflower had no cheese sauce, the stuffing was definitely out of a box ,just add water muck and tasted of chemicals, the roast potatoes tasted only of the cooking oil and the gravy which you couldn't even put on yourself was runny and greasy. The pudding table had a vast array of selections and amazingly not one thing tasted of what it was advertised as, the carrot cake and biscoff cake tasted exactly the same of NOTHING, all of us left most of our pudding untouched, you CANNOT get tea or coffee at your table, you have to go downstairs and order it?? Why I've no idea, presumably you are supposed to sit in a bar and drink it? However when we went downstairs the place was deserted with not one member of staff anywhere, so we left , we were 43 mins from entering to walking back to car , as we just wanted it to be over. I spent £136.00 and all of us left feeling hungry. We usually go to The Lodge for 5 course Sunday carvery and this experience is amazing the food and service and staff are fantastic and we will stick with here in future. We also never had one member of staff ask us if everything was OK, or if we wanted another drink or anything while there. All in all a horrible experience
