Don't get a meat pasty, it's literally a batter burger patty. Every other chippy meat pasties are potato mixed with sausage meat.

Not good for people with adhd and asd. The noise in the background is incomprehensible with staff shouting at the top of their lungs left right and centre, plates clattering left right and centre and machines buzzing extremely loudly, it’s almost as if you’re in the kitchen yourself. There is usually one member of staff cleaning tables which from what I’ve seen is extremely overwhelming for them as there’s multiple tables to clean in a short period of time and they’re not allowed to stop. Quite frankly there’s multiple seating and overcrowding issues with one time sitting there them running out of knives and forks to give to people and service for people. The food is quite pricey aswell. I’ve seen multiple customers treat staff really rudely and nothing has been done about it. Furthermore on staff I’ve seen one member of staff been called out multiple times for the same thing when they were attempting to clean multiple tables at the same time and when they pleaded to give them just one minute to finish the task this other worker told them to do, they were met with a cold answer asking them to do what they were told. The food was ok, but very greasy and their ice cream was ABSOLUTELY SPECTACULAR! The best thing about this chippy is the ice cream and the options available for it. Sadly because of this place’s, orthodox but not for a good reason reputation it ruins it.

My family and I went here after a trip to Newcastle and as alot of the places there were queued out the door we called here at a place that used to be good. I emphasize used to be. My chips were as soggy as the weather on the day in question we were there which was very soggy and the grease was running out of my fish. I ate it because I was so very hungry and the attitude of the staff member when we complained left alot to be desired. His excuse was because I'd ate it it must have been alright but I only ate it because of the fact I was soooo hungry. This place used to be good but I can honestly say we won't be back. Wouldn't mind but for what we had at £25 it was very expensive for awful quality food.

They had run out of chicken box meals so we opted for fish suppers. This choice proved to be a mystery in two ways, the first being what type of fish. It certainly didn't appear to be cod or haddock. The second was where to find the fish in the mass of batter. I think the true description should have been batter with a touch of fish. Tomato (a slice) and coleslaw was also served & I think the main reason for those components was to fill the plate. The chips were ok and piping hot. I cannot, in all faith, recommend this establishment.

Counter staff very rude and abrupt so we decided to leave and eat elsewhere. Just a pity because the foods not too bad going by previous visits with family but we won't be going back . A little smile costs nothing !

We’ve eaten in Zebedees as a family for many years. The food and service are always excellent. Sit in or take away available.

La scritta sulla facciata del gelato artigianale ci ha un pò fuoriviato, nel senso che ci siamo tuffati all'interno di questo locale pensando di trovare una gelateria artigianale (all'italiana,per intenderci), ma perdonateci... siamo rimasti delusi perchè si trattava di una sorta di fastfood con gelateria monogusto, su cui aggiungere salse e condimenti vari. Pazienza, è andata comunque bene perchè abbiamo fatto una breve sosta.

I stopped at Zebedees on an evening out with my father and young family. We were given a quiet booth at the rear of the sit-in area and took time to order our meals. The food was ordered at the till and paid for, I was pleasantly surprised at how reasonable the cost was. The food arrived quickly and the children were delighted with their meal boxes that contained a small toy bug in a pencil sharpener. Their chicken nuggets and chips went down very well and was plentiful enough even for my 9 year old son. The adult meals - special burger, chicken burger and chips were very well cooked and delicious. A very pleasant and enjoyable meal. Will certainly be back.

Took my wife out for a drive ended up in Castlewellan always went to Zebedees We usually order the same old thing every time this time we went for the chicken lunch box it’s was beautiful chips lovely and crispy the place was very clean I always check the vinegar bottle as I’ve been in some places were they never check what’s in it (flies,and stuff) not very nice but would say the next time your there visit and put it on trip advisor for other people to check out

Worst chips ever. Rock hard and painful to eat. Most ended up in the bin because they were totally inedible. I think they must cook the chips once and then throw them back in later when you order. The staff/owner should try eating some themselves. Cook them once and they will be edible.

Would not go back here food very dear and poor service. Staff are rude when talking to you and bringing your order was even worst as if you were a burden to them without ys ordering food they wouldnt have a job. Think on that when you speak to someone.

My hubby and I had an hour to spend and decided to call for a quick bite of lunch. The interior is spotless and the food was delicious. Staff were very helpful and the outside seated area was ideal on a warm sunny day. We will be revisiting for certain

Staff need to learn some customer service skills not use the word f**kwhen they serving you .. food was good.. big portions for the price. Would return
