YuGo in Belfast

This reasonably priced Michelin starred restaurant was outstanding. Our best meal in Belfast. The staff were very friendly & explained the dishes & the system of Tapas style small dishes that are brought to your table when they are ready. The flavours were exceptional. Can highly recommend.

Pros: Great atmosphere, staff are friendly, attentive and accommodating. Food came quickly. Lots of vegetarian options. Rice perfect. Aubergine dish is creative and delicious. Cons: Have to ask for separate vegetarian menu, why not just put it all on one menu..? Bao buns were cold and a bit flat, maybe they are pre made and then filled? Fillings cold too. Taste was ok. Massaman curry was far too rich and heavy in my opinion, it was more like a thick satay sauce. It was also overwhelming sweet. I probably would give this place another chance because their menu was interesting!

Been to Yugo many many times but not in the past few years . Food always exceptional and this time around more so with a bigger choice on the menu . But the wine !?. Oh dear Yugo. I didn’t order wine for probably the first time in my life in any restaurant . I couldn’t bring myself to pay those silly high prices for that quality of wine . I won’t return.

Tasty, creative Asian dishes with excellent service to match. We ordered a selection of fish and vegetarian dishes and everything tasted fresh and delicious. Slightly more expensive but overall good value for money.

We decided to visit this restaurant after receiving glowing reviews from friends who dine out regularly, as first time visitors to Yugo we were not disappointed, the menu lists Bao buns, small plates, dumplings, sushi, curries , sides and desserts. Prices range from £6 to £19 , the wine list is equally matched with a variety of cocktails, we enjoyed a bottle of House Sauvignon blanc £30 , we ordered 5 dishes bbq chicken Bao , softshell crab Bao , Szechuan lamb croquettes, crispy pork dumplings, tomato salad with Bloody Mary dressing, we also enjoyed a complimentary charred scallop sushi , every dish was perfectly cooked and seasoned , difficult to pick a favourite but the softshell Crab rarely seen on menus and the scallop were fabulous, our bill came to £70 for wine , still water, great food and exceptional service will definitely return 👏👏👨🏻‍🍳

I was recommended this restaurant by my cousin, and it didn’t disappoint! My father and I met a couple of friends who were visiting from Dublin and as we all enjoy Asian food, I booked YuGo! The staff were very friendly the mix and quality of Tapas was very good. I had a Pina Colada (Thai Colada) which was excellent. The rest of the group had Red Wine, which I’m told was also very good, so much so, they had a 2nd bottle! The food itself was really tasty, and hot, and between the four of us, we ordered 2 crispy Pork Dumplings, 2 Lamb Croquettes, 2 Charred Corns, one Beef Massaman Curry, one Wok Fried rice with ham and pea, one Tempura Broccoli ! It sounds a lot, but we were told by the waitress that was fine, and it was! We ate everything. For dessert I ordered a Choux Bun with Miso, Toffee Apple and Hazelnuts, and our friends orders the White Chocolate & Passionfruit Tart with Crème Freche and 4 spoons! Both were excellent!! I will definitely come back here again, it really was good :-)

Was recommended by a friend, we took a late reservation 8:45. The food was honestly amazing did not disappoint, it’s served like tapas almost with small dishes.. only regret is we didn’t try everything. Staff were amazing so helpful and everything so reasonably priced.. We will be back!!!

We went at 6pm & it was pretty busy which in itself speaks volumes. Really tasty small tapas Asian fusion dishes, one of the highlights of our mini break to Belfast. Loved it, staff were super friendly & every dish we had was sooo fresh & tasty, could have sat there for hours just grazing and lapping up the ambiance. Great little find..

We had this recommended to us by a local friend and it definitely lived up to that. Good atmosphere. We had 3 dishes each which was the right amount of food. You can order some and then order more if you are still hungry so don’t worry about getting it right the first time. The food came out quickly and was absolutely delicious! We have eaten a lot of Asian food and this was the best we have had. In particular the Iberico Pork and Prawn Dumplings were our favourite dishes. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. One took the initiative to bring us an extra bowl of chillies when she noticed we were getting through the ones we had, so fantastic service. Our bill came to £76 for the food and a couple of drinks which was so worth it. All round we very highly recommend!

Very, very good. Quality, service, variety and overall experience was really good. Would recommend. Initial menu seemed expensive based on recommended volume of dishes however in the end could have ordered less and found it to be good value all things considered.

Delicious food and great service. In Belfast for work and fancied something more than pub grub so took a walk down here. No issue in getting a table for 1. So many gorgeous sounding dishes. I opted for the steak tartare, lamb sweatbreads & truffle fried rice. All were absolutely delicious and reasonably priced. Will definitely return on my next trip to Belfast

From the moment we arrived (early) nothing was too much trouble, our soaking costs from a rainy Belfast were hung up & we were shown to our table. Drinks order taken immediately then a second check in soon after for food. The food was 10/10 and reasonably priced. Our table of 4 shared I think 11-12 dishes with a few drinks each and our bill was £125. Would definitely return.

We were in Belfast a few days and wanted to try the full gamut of restaurants whilst we were there. Found this on Day 3 and the food was so good we went back the next (and final) evening too. The Bento tray was excellent as was the sushi ordered by my wife. Well recommended

I arrived at the restaurant at 1.40 on a busy Thursday lunch serving and asked for a table for one. An extremely rude person told me the restaurant was full “till 5” and then told me to “lose” my “attitude” when I questioned this. Problem is there were tables empty and more importantly free for a timed 2 o’clock serving showing as immediately available on the restaurant’s website. Being popular doesn’t give the right to reject a solo diner. Not nice.

The food in here is amazing. We had some drinks, we never do, and got rewarded by the most interesting, refreshing and cool mixes. The staff is friendly. The decor is great.

Delicious! We ordered the spring rolls, croquets, cod bao, massaman beef curry and tempura broccoli. Would highly recommend the curry (lots and lots of tender melt in the mouth beef) for 3-4 people and the tempura broccoli. Portions sizes a little small considering the price. Was perhaps expecting two bap’s rather than one but nevertheless the taste made up for it. Booking is essential. We got turned away two nights prior and booked there and then to make sure we got in. Very popular place.

Wow! We came to this address looking for a different restaurant. We were surprised to find Yugo but got a table. We were not disappointed by our choice. The staff is amazing and attentive. The food is delicious, every entree exceed our expectations. Go here if you are wanting something other than fish and chips while in Belfast.

Friendly service, and good advice to help with our choices. Food was good, the only outstanding was the aubergine with teriyaki sauce. The food came out really quickly - I'd barely had a mouthful of the fab cocktail. I would say a bit too quick to enjoy the evening, but we found the background music very loud and the chairs fairly uncomfortable, so were happy it wasn't a long evening!

Wow! Best food I've had in a long time. The beef rib massaman curry was unreal, slid off the bone. Pork dumplings were delicious. Cocktails to die for. All topped off with the most delicious sticky toffee pudding. Will be back.
