Terrible service and attitude from the get go. When we arrived we asked how the menu worked as it was a first time to visit. Waiter rudely said you will have to wait until you are seated. We were seated after people who came after us. And their orders were taken well before us. We waited for the water to come to us and drink orders We placed some orders and received some food but had to call them over to ask when we will receive them and we’re basically told we just had to wait it takes time to prepare. So we ordered a few more items and waited. When we called them to ask they said it takes time to prepare and they will send them out when they were ready. Funny the people in the next table was getting theirs and seems when we called them back for our last order that we were waiting on seems they got our orders and sent them back. So no one figured out this out. And as they said we had to wait we would have to wait again the normal 15 mins to prepare. So we said we had waited long enough and we were going elsewhere to finish dinner. They did not offer to rush any other dishes or offer anything. And they even charged the tip lovely. Crappy service and they had enough balls to take a tip. No thanks Yo Sushi not visiting your Location again

My Family and I were visiting Cardiff and decided to go for Susi. Big mistake choosing this place. Food was overpriced and mediocre at best. Very rude staff member when we visited today. We visited with two babies and were told he would “put us out of the way”, no baby change available despite toilets advertising baby change facilities. Front of house staff member continued to be very rude and abrupt throughout visit while taking orders and paying the bill. Will not be visiting again.

This place is basically my home. Sushi is my favorite food and this is my favorite restaurant! I’ve visited so many times, it is my go-to sushi place and I am planning going again. I’ve never had any problems with the staff or food. 🤭 I love being able to order through my phone as I’m very introverted so it is very comfortable for me. They used to be able to allow you to pay yourself through their website after you order but now I have to speak to a waitress after finishing 😟😄. The conveyor belts with sushi on them is so adorable, It’s nice to see the chefs working in the open. Inspires me to want to learn how to make it myself. I cannot get enough of their food!

We went to Cardiff for my daughter birthday and she wanted to go to yo!sushi. I forgot to make a reservation and that it was Disney on ice day, so Cardiff was busy but the male server that greeted us was extremely friendly and helpful. There weren’t any booths available only bar space. The server found a highchair for my 6 month old to sit in so my daughter could still have her birthday meal. He was extremely helpful, friendly even though he was so so so busy. The other female server that was working was also incredibly friendly, kind and helpful. Yo!sushi will always be one of mine and my daughters favourite places. They are always helpful and friendly and the food is always amazing.

Had a genuinly lovely experience a few days ago, everyone was very friendly when my friend and I were welcomed and sat down. The food was all delecious and throughout any interactions we had with the staff were lovely. It was my friends first visit to Yo Sushi so I was so happy to see her treated so well, we'll definitely be coming back.

I'd never been to a Yo Sushi before, but I had lunch there today with a friend and we had such a great experience! We had a wonderful greeting the second we stepped through the door, all the servers were so friendly, they made time for us, never making us feel like we were a hindrance asking questions or ordering different things, even the manager coming over to open a can of pop for us when we couldn't! All the food was superb, there was a huge choice, and we enjoyed trying out some things we'd never had before as well as ordering what we knew! I will definitely be popping back, we felt like we were part of the family by the end of the visit! Thanks all!

I had the duck with noodles, it was like a Tesco value version of their stir fry deal but at a cost of £12 for a very small overcooked portion. Between our 2 meals my friend was nearly finished when mine was served, I honestly thought they had forgotten about me which to be honest would have been a blessing. Drinks are very expensive and the seating we found awkward. This was my first and last time going to Yo both of us were very underwhelmed.

I feel bad for the younger staff here, they are short staffed and try their best BUT poor management, tiny portions, every customer is a problem. No receipt offered. The QR code has been removed so you wait an age to be served. Can’t get refills on the refillable miso.. it’s all really poor.

I had a delivery and usually it is lovely. But tonight there were TWO hairs in the food. Absolutely revolting. The salmon sashimi was also not of their usual high quality, tonight they were tasteless thick cuts. But obviously the hairs were the main problem!

I’ve visited this store numerous times. The food is impeccable but the serving staff on the other hand are nothing but the rudest servers I have ever come across. Not once have I been in and not received some form of attitude from the staff. Can’t fault the kitchen staff but the staff on the floor are not fit for customer service. The last time I came was lunchtime and the man who sat us down gave us the lunchtime special menu which states to take the cold items off the conveyer belt. And order the hot food. No one came over to the table to take any orders so I ordered the drinks and hot food items through the qr code. We picked the items that were on the specials menu. When it came to pay the bill, it was more than I calculated so I asked why this was. And the response was nothing but attitude, the man spoke to me like I was stupid and didn’t know what I was talking about. I told him that it said to take off the conveyer belt and said nothing about ordering with a server. I have never been so angry with someone speaking to me like I’m beneath them. I think this store needs to seriously train their staff or replace them altogether

Manager is so obnoxious, walked through the door to a sigh. Everything was just so much effort. Left at a table waiting, so long for service. Sigh evertime she greeted someone at the door. She was putting food into containers and licking her fingers. She constantly interrupted me when I tried to speak. When I mentioned her sighing. Sje sighed, rolled her eyes and denied it. I couldn't tolerated her behaviour and left.

I went with family to celebrate my mums birthday. It was great, the food was tasty and the staff were so kind. The only negative thing about it is how expensive it is. For example, a can of something (drink) costs around £3.50. Other than the price, it’s amazing!! I would definitely go again. 😊

We hadn’t been to YO for a while so was a bit apprehensive given recent reviews on here. Glad to say we were very happy we had a late lunch here. The restaurant was quieter than I’ve seen it in a while so we had a booth straight away. Service was good and food was fresh and so flavorful. My children had a bento box each as it was free over half term and they thoroughly enjoyed. Other dishes including dragon rolls, teriyaki chicken bowl and Chilli squid were delicious. Can’t wait to return.

we arrived and were seated as normal. ordering app was not working, we had ask for help and then were told this, then had to wait a long time for someone to come over and take our order. not much on the belt to keep us going. similar wait to pay. i think that staffing was at a level ok for when app is working but when it is not the we’re under staffed. we used to enjoy picking wha w liked for the belt, topping up with hot food from the menu. that was what made YO fun. with little choice on the belt we ordered all from menu, had to wait a long time and paid a lot for an experience we didn’t get.

We have enjoyed Yo Sushi for several years but was going to give up when they stopped using the belt conveyor however it's back yay! Unfortunately the App is dreadful, we downloaded it on a previous visit and navigated it moderately well. This time was a nightmare. We visited at a quiet time with not many diners and thought we would grab a quick lunch. No such luck, The App wouldn't open, and when it did it said we were connected to Malware. Eventually one of our phones worked and we were able to order. The whole fiasco took 25 minutes and was a poor experience. The food? Excellent as always, we had pop corn shrimp , some of the new dishes and Katsu Chicken. Shame about the ordering procedure and this will no doubt impact on their covers and put people off.

Came for lunch with my sister and daughter, had been really looking forward to it. It was a pretty awful experience and I don't think I'll be back. We spent over £80 for two adults, we weren't offered any drinks, had to ask twice for chopsticks, then again when no soy sauce or ginger/wasabi had been brought out. The server was INCREDIBLY rude. It was uncomfortable to watch how unkind he was to delivery riders arriving to collect orders. Like wise to ourselves and other customers. Saw one other table complain to the manager. We recognised it was a bad situation and complaining wasn't going to help anyone so just ate, enjoyed what we could and left. This is a real shame as used to really like Yo and was even telling my sis we should do the class which I'd done at this location before lockdown too. I'm afraid I wouldn't spend my money here again.

We were “welcomed” by TRIG who asked us to take a seat, we waited 10 minutes before we were seated. When we were seated, TRIG started to explain the ordering process and spoke to us in a condescending manner i.e “do not put used plates back on the sushi conveyor belt!” I placed our order online, TRIG did not bring us our drinks. I asked TRIG if we could have water, he went to get a bottle of water and I asked if we could have a carafe of water TRIG shouts you mean TAP WATER he then slammed the fridge door and walked off. TRIG did not brings us our drinks or the carafe of water. I had to ask the shift MANAGER if we could have our drinks as we were eating our ordered food I explained how disrespectful, unprofessional, unpleasant and abrupt TRIG’s behaviour and attitude was. The MANAGER agreed and apologised. TRIG did not serve us for the remainder of our time at the restaurant. I’m very shocked that TRIG displayed this behaviour even slamming menu’s down on the table. It was embarrassing to witness and very UNCOMFORTABLE I had to explain to my 8yo that not all servers behave the way TRIG behaved and TRIG is an exception. TRIG must really hate working at YO SUSHI, TRIG is a liability to the CARDIFF store. The shift manager was very apologetic. Thanks to TRIG we will not be returning to YO SUSHI CARDIFF. WAGAMAMA is much more appealing and values their customers with exceptional customer service.

I have visited this YoSushi! dozens of times over the years and it’s always been great, but when I visited in July the customer service was awful! I couldn’t get the app to work to order in my phone, and they have removed the button on the counter for calling customer service. I therefore had to call the staff over to order, which should have been fine. However, there was only one member of staff available and the spent the majority of the time standing behind the till looking at the floor, so that it was really difficult to catch their attention (I wasn’t the only customer struggling to do so). When I finally did manage to call the server over, she had a bad attitude, talking to me in a rude, sarcastic manner. I have no idea why. The same thing happened when I was ready to pay the bill. I’m not sure what’s happened, but I won’t be going back!

Incredibly accommodating staff, they were generous to find room for us despite being packed and only having 2 servers. Our food arrived quickly and every single dish was so enjoyable and full of flavour. We’d definitely recommend booking a table for the evening so that you can guarantee a spot. I had a range of vegan options, the hoisin Poke Bowl, teriyaki “steak” and vegan sharing platter with dough.chi for dessert. It was some of the most flavoursome vegan food I have had for the last 4 years of being vegan! My non-vegan family were also impressed, and double ordered their dishes (we would recommend this if you are quite hungry). You will leave feeling highly satisfied, with money well spent and your needs met by attentive staff. Thank you so much for an enjoyable evening guys!

This rating is based purely on the food and the workers who are amazing. The manager however is very unapproachable and not customer friendly at all. They are a very busy restaurant but they don’t have the means to accommodate the customers needs. Summer holidays have started and they had run out of beans for the kids bento boxes and refused to provide anything to replace it or even add any other extra rice. They didn’t have any crayons for the children. However the one member of staff I wish I had taken her name was amazing. However this isn’t the first time the manager has been this way. I’ve tried to make a complaint through YO! but they never respond.

No pudimos terminarlo todo. When we arrived we were disappointed to see that due to covid the usual plates rotation wasn't in place. Instead you have to order what you'd like online. It was still pretty fun though, watching your light go yellow so you know something is on its way. Then the belt stops in front of you when it's green and you take your order. Different but still really fun!

We had a lovely dining experience at this restaurant on Friday 12/11. The lady at the front of house was very welcoming, helpful and kind. All staff were friendly and made us feel welcomed and accommodated to us.I would highly recommend this restaurant the staff are an asset and should be highly praised for the high level of customer service that they deliver. So as the title states a lot has changed since covid. No more do random dishes wizz around on the little conveyor belt, enabling you to get a little peek at what food you might want to try. Now you sit down and you order off your phone and it gets sent to you. This is actually kinda helpful to stop the "how much did I spend" that used to happen when you tallied up your plates. However there is a much smaller menu and the prices...3 pieces of sushi for £5 still makes my eyes and wallet tear up! It seems so expensive for what it is, and whilst it does taste great you almost stop yourself ordering things because you see how much they cost and then do the mental gymnastics as you decide if its worth not paying rent to eat a bit of sushi.The staff are friendly and helpful, the cooks are good at what they do, but unless its for a seriously important occasion I just cant bring myself to fork out over £30 for some sushi.

Every time i go there the customer service lets it down massively. The young guy that’s always there is so so rude and is so petty about everything. We had a booking on Friday 8th and when we got there, the person we had to speak with when we entered the restaurant was so horrible and obnoxious that we thought about leaving after we sat down. He was absolutely horrible and me me feel like an idiot. All I had to do was to find the reservation email. Other people were waiting and he made us feel very unwelcome. The service we received from him was completely unacceptable and embarrassing.

The whole experience was fairly good, I’d love to use the term great, but I cannot. It’s been a while since I’ve been to Cardiff and one of the reasons I came back was to visit Yo! Sushi, service in regards to cleaning and enforcing covid rules - I applaud you, but I feel the human element has been somewhat eliminated. No clear explanations of how the system work, no table service, unfortunately the list goes on. The food was fantastic, the service police were good, just please bring back the human element.

Came here for the first time for my partners birthday. Elai was amazing she couldn’t thank us enough for us coming early due to them closing early for COVID reasons, even though we were just happy it wasn’t cancelled. She even brought out a birthday cake with a candle and sang happy birthday. Such amazing food and so much fun to order and have it delivered straight to the table.

Such a good evening! Had Elai the lovely woman who unfortunately had to change our booking time but she came over and apologised and thanked us for our co operation, and then proceeded to bring out a cake for my friends birthday! Everyone was so helpful and lovely to us, would definitely come again

Had myself, a Yo! first timer, a wheelchair user, a crutch user, two service dogs and a nearly 2yr old in our party which could (and has) caused problems in other places but we were accommodated without fuss. Food was great as always but the big shout goes to Beth our server. Top girl, cool tatts and couldnt do enough for us. Was great with our daughter, talked the noob through menu and made the whole meal a great experience! Only complaint is we couldnt leave her a tip on card and none of us had cash, hopefully any manager reading this will make sure she is compensated ;)

I love being able to use my phone to order food rather than talk to someone else. It's easy to use and you can order food at any time, as many times as you want. You pay for each thing as you order so you can leave as soon as you're finished.The food is great too!

Thank you very much for my delivery of food this evening, Just Eat were 2 hours late in delivering my food but the food delivered was extremely yummy and the added extras really meant a lot and I will definitely be ordering from YoSushi again! Slight changes since COVID means that everything is made to order - possibly therefore even more delicious than it used to be! Lovely waitress Beth made it a really fun experience, and the atmosphere is still great despite social distancing. Will definitely be back - thanks!!

Can’t fault the good adherence to covid safe rules when dining. Actually love the traffic light system for the food on the belt, that needs to stay after covid, it’s a lot of fun!But the food itself is the same good offering as it’s always been, can’t beat the beef teriyaki and popcorn shrimp as ever, but enjoyed the dragon roll too on this visit.

La primera vez que volvimos desde el cierre y sus sistemas funcionaron bien, me encantaron los semáforos en su mesa y la comida, etc., que llegaban como pequeños trenes. 'Trig', el chico encantador a cargo de sentarse y explicar los nuevos procedimientos, fue excepcional e hizo todo lo posible para ayudarnos a nosotros y a nuestro nieto de 10 años. El servicio y la comida eran excelentes y todo el personal era amable, servicial y eficiente. Gracias a todos, sigues siendo el restaurante favorito de mis nietos y tienes una excelente relación calidad-precio. Gracias de nuevo a todos.

Decidimos comer en Yo Sushi ya que vimos que no había cola afuera, llegamos a la puerta e inmediatamente el miembro del personal de la puerta principal (anfitrión) sonó grosero y bastante directo, en lugar de hacernos sentir bienvenidos, hizo todo lo posible al contrario, su tono de voz era agresivo y no era agradable.Quería irme, pero la Sra. Realmente quería comer sushi, así que me mordí la lengua e hice lo que me dijeron.El anfitrión nos dijo que nos registráramos en el servicio de rastreo y localización del NHS y exigió que le mostráramos que lo habíamos hecho, lo cual nos pareció extraño y nos hizo sentir como si fuéramos niños, mostramos nuestros teléfonos como se nos exigió y se nos permitió la entrada.Luego nos llevaron a nuestros asientos en el bar y el anfitrión dijo "siéntese en los taburetes rojos" en voz alta, nos dieron una sesión informativa muy básica de cómo funciona el nuevo sistema de pedidos, que básicamente consiste en ordenar todo en la aplicación y esperar a que sea entregado por cinta transportadora.La comida llegó dentro de un buen tiempo y fue muy agradable, pero la mala educación de este miembro del personal en particular realmente me desanimó de este lugar.Espero que este tipo de trato a los clientes solo se concentre en la sucursal de Cardiff y no en ningún otro lugar.

Our first time at Yo Sushi was a great experience. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The food was very filling and fresh. We had a great time and plan to go back and make the most of 50% throughout September.

Servicio increíble y comida fantástica como siempre. Esto es algo esperado con este lugar como siempre bueno, lo que me impulsó a dejar esta reseña fue la forma fanática en que se administra el lugar durante las restricciones actuales. Fácilmente el mejor lugar para correr en el que hemos estado desde el cierre. Muy bien gestionado. Bien hecho. Cualquiera que lea esto debería sentirse seguro al visitarlo.

¿Cuál es el punto de?Para cuando fui al sitio web y ordené, pagué allí y no tuve servicio del personal (no aceptan pedidos de nada, los pedidos posteriores deben hacerse nuevamente en su teléfono, incluso más bebidas, etc. ) y bolsas de basura entregadas a la mesa, todo por el mismo precio que antes, debo agregar, también podría ahorrarme 50 y comprar una gran cantidad de M&S por mucho menos y obtener un mejor y más servicio.Simplemente no tiene sentido comer en el restaurante. Aparte de hacerlo yo mismo, y podría hacerlo lo mejor que pueda, eso es lo único que no tienes que hacer. No, gracias.

I visited here quite often as I work in the town centre. The food is always amazing hence the reason I keep returning, and majority of the staff are lovely, the lady with the tattoos especially (so sorry I don’t know her name). However, the manager (i also don’t know his name but he is Asian/ Chinese mid 20’s) is very rude. Not only to customers, but on 2 separate occasions I have witnessed him being disgusting towards his staff who had done nothing wrong. For this reason I avoid going in there if I see he is working as I am very close to telling him how vile is attitude is :) on that note, yo sushi is worth the visit for the food

I loved the idea of the conveyor belt, advised by the helpful staff that we can order something not going passed. We ordered hot rice and collected whatever we wanted from the table. The desserts were delicious, ESPECIALLY the pancake with custard filling! I could eat hoards of them little beauties! Also the fresh fruit bowl was very refreshing. Now, the staff. They were all great but the wonderful lady who was working our orders was awesome, so friendly and very helpful. Her name was Beth and is an asset to the restaurant, her product knowledge is bang on and deserves recognition as I see other reviewers have also noticed and commented on her excellent customer service. Cannot wait to come back, and I hope Beth with the tattoos is there when we return! X

I’d been dying to visit this establishment for a long time following rave reviews from family members. We went on an early Friday evening and it was very busy. We didn’t fancy a lot of the things on the conveyor belt so ordered hot food.Very disappointing to see you had to pay over a pound for tap water.We ordered:Yo fries- coated in a strange tasting sauce so we’re completely soggy and very unpleasantSalt and pepper squid- inedible. I ate a piece and the squid was so soft I checked it was cooked, the batter was cooked on the outside but completely raw and sludgy insides which was disgusting. Also needed some sort of acidic component to cut the lack of flavourPopcorn shrimp- virtually no batter and very odd prawns. Coated in a thick gloopy sauce. This was forgotten from our order and we had to ask for it againPak Choi- this was actually pretty tasty. We used the sauce for dipping other things, very difficult to eat with only chopsticksTeriyaki beef- this was tasty but very saltyOverall very disappointed and won’t be returning

The last time I went there were many dishes not on the menu. Of those that were available they were initially reluctant to supply some with some items left out e.g. sriracha sauce. When I said they used to supply dishes without some ingredients they then obliged. I have taken a star off for those and another star for prices that are almost double than that for an independently owned restaurant I used to frequent before I relocated.

Always visit here with friends or family and usually banging food but the food came slow, we ordered some sushi off the menu and the chef brought us a platter instead and tutted when we said it wasn't ours. I watched the one big chef pour out lots of black tar looking sauce from a pan and said to my friend I hope that's not ours but unfortunately it was our beef teriyaki which was still swimming when we got it. Usually pick the same things every time and it is usually nice but it was all a bit bland and the sauce for the need tasted very burnt and the beef stuck to our teeth it was so overcooked. Definitely would have preferred a longer wait and good quality food. Will still visit as it's mine and partners fave but was crap yesterday

Must say the food here was very good, sadly though the hard work by the chefs is let down by slow service and inaccuracies. The drinks were pricey and to charge for the table tap water is a liberty on top of the it pushed the bill excessively up (regardless of it being a million times pretentiously filtered or whatever). Also we booked a booth table in advance only to arrive on time for our booking to find the waitress had sat others there. We ended up sat on a bar stool which is not good for someone who had recently suffered a severe back injury! There is some staff training that needs to taken place in this restaurant to do their good food justice. This place needs to buck it’s ideas up especially with so many other eating options in the same mall.

Excellent restaurant but it makes huge difference is the staff. From the Chef who always joke and keep a nice environment to the waiters always polite and fast. The Manager as well super caring when he gave me the bill . Wonderful experience!! Keep the good work ..Thank you!

Amazing food every single time - I’ve gone to this restaurant 6-7 times in the last year and it has never disappointed. I am looking forward to an expansion in space though as it can get a bit crowded - cosy nonetheless:)

We had a wonderful experience at Don Don Yatai. The lady working there on Monday evening was great, really friendly and attentive. The food was really tasty and super fresh and the portion sizes were very generous. You can book a table on Whatsapp which is super convenient and there’s plenty of free on-street parking nearby. We can’t fault them and we will definitely be back!
