We used to eat Mama Z's food years ago, and we are very happy that she now has a permenant home. The food was outstanding. Real care and attention has been put into the flavours and serving of the food. Can't wait to go again.

Food - 5/5 - I brought my family here to explore a new cuisine they hadn't tried before, and they absolutely loved the food, especially the Chicken Adobo. They found the chicken to be flavorful and unlike anything they had tasted before. I really enjoyed the Chicken Tocilog and Duck Sisig; both dishes had distinct and unique flavors that paired perfectly with the rice, making for a truly satisfying meal. Service - 5/5 - Two staff members assisted us as a group of ten, including children, and they were incredibly accommodating and understanding, especially given how unpredictable kids can be. They served our food promptly and ensured that everything arrived together so we could enjoy the meal as a group. Before leaving us, they made sure we had everything we needed. Atmosphere - 5/5 - A cozy, tight-knit restaurant that exudes a warm, homely atmosphere—it's the perfect spot for a weekend lunch. Overall - As a first-time diner at this restaurant, I was truly impressed and can’t wait to return to explore more of the menu. I highly recommend it for anyone interested in a delightful blend of Filipino, Korean, and Chinese cuisine. P.S. - Try the Baked Cinnamon Cheesecake, it's so good.

A quite unique restaurant not far from West Didsbury. The meals are full of flavour and portion sizes generous. The Sisig is for me the standout. Lots of homemade cakes and usually hard to find spices/pastes too if you want to take something home My only small issue would be it can feel quite chilly in the colder months

Pretty good food but unfortunately had a bad experience with the manager. I was charged a deposit for a table! Very strange practice but paid it as the website assured me it would be taken off my bill. It was not taken from my bill as was stated. I then emailed to get a refund which they argued and eventually agreed to give me a refund. It then didn't come through and needed to be chased. This was frustrating but I was refunded and they sent £5 as a goodwill gesture. I then went to use the voucher today only for the manager to tell.me it had expired and they would not honour it!! Nowhere in the email did it say the voucher had an expiry. I feel this is bad customer service at best and very untrustworthy at worst. Please make sure your 'table deposits' are given back!

Cute looking cafe and the staff were nice but unfortunately the food was really bad. It lacked flavour and depth, especially considering the price it was a let down. Maybe the cakes and coffee are a better choice than the food. EDIT: In response to your reply: Thank you for your response. However, I must say that I’m disappointed by the sarcastic and defensive tone, especially since I tried to be fair and considerate in my original review. I was even willing to give your coffee and cakes a try after my initial visit, but after this reply, I’ll pass. To clarify, we weren’t asked about our food at all during our visit. Had we been, I would have given honest feedback then. But considering that all four items we ordered were bland and lacked flavor, I didn’t see the point in complaining on-site—it seems like that’s just how the food is prepared. My review was meant to provide an honest opinion for future customers who, like me, might be disappointed by the quality. I understand small businesses rely on constructive feedback, but it would be more helpful to focus on improving the experience instead of dismissing criticism.

I had chicken Adobe. It was delicious 😋.The meat melted into your mouth. It was the best chicken I had for a long time at a restaurant/cafe. It came with rice and a massive portion of pak choi. I’ve been meaning to try Yes Lah for some time now and today went with my husband and my 5yo daughter. We ordered two main dishes, the kimchi bowl with prawns and the duck pancit, and a side of crispy potatoes and we shared everything. Everything was delicious - we couldn’t decide between the two which we preferred. The duck pancit was zesty with an amazing punch of flavours from salty and sour and shallots, and the crunchy vegetables went really well with the mix of noodles. The kimchi bowl had so many incredible deep flavours and the spicy kimchi went so well with the pickled cucumbers and rice. We wished we had room for more and will definitely be coming back soon to try out more of these dishes. Staff were friendly and service was relaxed and authentic, it really felt like a great mix of homely and professional! Thanks for such a lovely lunch, we can’t wait to come back to try the chicken wings and also the matcha ice cream with sesame praline, and my daughter wants to try the mango ice pops!!

Portions were good. I ordered the tocilog bowl. Taste left much to be desired. There was no flavour, no umami, nothing. It tasted very plain, no spice, nothing special. Very disappointed. Couldn’t even finish my meal. As a Filipino, I felt quite offended with the lack of authenticity of the food. My mum had the kimchi bowl with shrimp, and she was appalled to realise that the shrimps were still raw, not cooked properly. She notified our server, who took it away, and we don’t know what she did to the food. Perhaps microwaved the bowl? Or picked out the individual shrimps and cooked them again? Hard to say considering the shrimps were still uncooked when she gave it back to my mum. Sufficed to say, she also did not finish her food. The server was nice, I suppose, but my mum noted that she didn’t apologise for the uncooked shrimp. My mum felt that they should have redone the whole bowl considering the raw shrimps would have been contaminating the rest of the food. Regardless, she was generally friendly. We didn’t feel unwelcome. Would not be coming back though. Even if the shrimps were cooked, the flavours were just not there. The food didn’t taste authentic, it feels very much catered towards non-Filipinos/thai, more for white people for sure. Edit: in response to the restaurant’s reply. I appreciate your response, nice to see a business making an effort to connect with the community. To begin, I never said you are solely a Filipino restaurant; I recognise that you make Asian food, as evidenced by the bao that we ordered (it’s Korean pretty sure). I do, however, think it egregious to sell Filipino food or foods inspired from Filipino cuisine and Filipino brands and not deliver on the taste. If it doesn’t taste or look like Filipino food, is it still Filipino? If I sell Indian food and advertise that all over my Instagram and on Google maps, but then respond to an Indian family complaining the food isn’t authentic, is it fair for me to say I never claimed to be an authentic Indian restaurant? In response to your comment about the condiments on the table, we did use them. I used the soy sauce on my chicken, and the bottle was crusty, by the way. Perhaps someone should wipe those down. Not an insult, just a note. Also, I don’t think a restaurant should rely on diners to use condiments to provide flavour for their food. I think the food should arrive full of flavour and taste good, and if a customer wants a kick then they are free to add chilli oil. That’s my opinion and not an accusation, of course. Regarding the kimchi bowl my mother had, I want to stress as much as I can that you did NOT once ask if we would like the whole bowl being remade. I know this because we were waiting for you to ask. I’ve attached the picture in my original review. The shrimps were literally clear. Please do not tell us that they were cooked. Some of them were yes, like two or three. But most of them weren’t. Even if only one of them wasn’t cooked, that could have been enough to induce food poisoning. I’m honestly appalled that you would even argue on that. And then to further blame us as if it’s our responsibility to ensure that the food you serve is cooked properly is shameful. We did bring it up to your attention and as you confessed in your response, you stood by your judgement that the shrimps were cooked. We disagreed. We didn’t want to demand that you remake everything, but from then on, if we can’t finish the food and don’t have a positive thing to say, that’s not on us. It’s a shame it’s come to this because we were so excited to try your restaurant and we were looking forward to enjoying our lunch, but we just didn’t. I’m not trying to shame or embarrass or insult anyone, least of all the server we saw today because she was very friendly. But after the response you gave, we’ve become even more resolute in our decision to never be patrons again.

Mixed views on this place... Food was like good home cooked food, maybe even better, we all enjoyed it, but i needed to spice up the Kare-Dan Noodles even though they had a fire logo next to them. The chilli oil on the table was welcome, but it was very mild for my personal taste, however i do like spicy food - so it could just be me. The place is clean and basic. However my main reasons for the low score are: 1 - You pay for your meal up front and you are prompted to give a tip, before you even have your food or really any service, i find this rude and very strange. I had booked a table, i turned up, so i was not going to run off and no pay... Yes i tipped, but i don't like the prompt when i have not had any service... it makes more sense to have no pay at the end of a meal. 2 - The service, not for us, but for others... Two Filipina nurses had just been served before us, maybe 5-10 minutes, they were chatting and eating - we finished before them. The waitress collected our plates, then even though the other two were chatting and eating, said - do you want this to take home? This i found very rude and so did my wife... i was taken back by this as someone who has worked in the hospitality industry before. The waitress should have really just said is everything ok and would you like anything, however by saying do you want to take this home, this implies you have over stayed your welcome and leave - Note the place only had my group of 4 and these 2 in. We travelled from York to visit this place, we would visit again if we were in the area, however the waitress that we saw needs training. Also note it's Pork free, which i found very strange for a filipino place, but i presume the owner/chef if from the south.

This was my second visit to Yes Lah, and I'm absolutely ready to make it a habit! Every dish I've tried has been absolutely delicious, and very reasonably priced for the quality (and portion sizes!) provided. The drinks are great too (I can't recommend the Iced Tea enough!). On both of our visits, I've been too stuffed to even fathom a dessert, and yet all of the baked goods seem to wink flirtatiously at you from the fridge cabinet as you prepare to leave. Luckily, there's a takeaway option, so on both occasions I've treated myself, and the sorry folks at home who couldn't make the trip to the cafe, to a takeaway cake. STRONG recommend on the Miso Brownie! The team are LOVELY, there's a kind and welcoming atmosphere from the second you walk through the door. Thoroughly recommended, and can't wait to visit again!

Never noticed this place before, walk passed yesterday and thought we should give it a chance! We were very surprised by the quality of the food and the service. I would not say it is a 100% authentic Malaysian food but still tasty. They also have lots of Korean soft drinks and Chinese sauces available to sell. The English lady who served us is super friendly and helpful, will definitely recommend!

We attended a mushroom growing workshop at Yes La this evening in partnership with Stockport Fungi. Yes La were amazing hosts and cooked us a 2 course mushroom supper. We all ate together round a big table. It was the loveliest thing. The food was superb.

Lovely people, lovely food. We had the nasi lemak (with chicken curry) and king prawn and green beans stir-fried with sambal. Both were excellent. The chicken curry in particular tasted exactly as it should - absolutely perfect for a hungover Sunday afternoon. We also had some Milo, which had to be done. No teh tarik, unfortunately, but you can't have everything!

I had lunch at Yes Lah and it was fantastic! The rice dish I had was delicious and paired perfectly with the lovely purple ube latte. The flavors were spot-on and truly made my taste buds dance with delight. The staff were very friendly and attentive, making my dining experience even better. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for exceptional Asian food and a great vibe!

Incredible food and lovely staff! I work nearby and always love the pastries and lunches from Yes Lah. The staff are also really lovely and always helpful in talking you through all of the options and altering any dishes to make them suitable for vegetarians. The kimchi melts are amazing and made with their homemade kimchi. Would really recommend to anyone interested in eating great food made by people who care about what they do!

Some of the best food in Didsbury (of any kind), hands down! Having lived and travelled all over South East Asia (Thailand, Malaysia, HK, Indonesia...) I can say that the flavours are as close as you will get this side of the continent. The staff is always so friendly, the food is always super fresh and their desserts are just fantastic. Despite being a proud meat-eater, I have many times opted for the veggie options and absolutely devoured them in seconds (I recommend their Kimchi melts, yum yum!!). My only selfish hope is that they never move so I always have their delicious food around!

Very poor service. A lot of the meals were not available. Managed to be served with drinks and a starter. We then sat for over an hour waiting for our main meal. During this time a few more customers came in and were served their meals. We asked why the big delay in been served, only to be told the chef had run away. Because we had to be somewhere else, we walked out, shame because it used to be a very good place to visit. We probably won't be visiting again in the foreseeable future unless they get the service improved. Maybe if they catch the chef and bring him back might help.

I absolutely loved my lunch at Purezza this week; the lunch set menu is great value for money. There were a couple of ingredients not available, but the team made great suggestions for alternatives. My only wish is that I could buy some cheese to take home like I can at the one in London! 🤩
