Food is really good and affordable. Had chicken kottu, chicken fried rice and mutton deviled. All of them tasted amazing and really glad that the kottu was not dry. Potion size is satisfactory as well. Totally recommend!!!💯 Update : After my first time at YAKO had food ordered to go a few times and had trouble with receiving the food on time and had to wait in the shop to be made when I came to the shop to collect the food. And the taste of the food seems to be like the weather in the UK. It's nice one time and disappointing the other time. Will not be buying from here again.

Just popped in here to have a look around and I saw they have vegan biscuit cake. So I got a slice to takeaway. They do have loads of vegan options in terms of meals. I would definitely go back and try the vegan meals. I forgot to take pictures inside. The vegan cake was good, but bit too sweet for me but the biscuit made up for it.

I have tried it a few times. Initially it was good, but I'm seeing a decline in quality recently. It doesn't feel very fresh. I ordered chicken, it looked grayish brown and tasted so old. Unfortunately, I will stop eating here now because I don't trust a restaurant which doesn't handle meat properly.

I decided to try this restaurant and I wasn’t disappointed. The food is like homemade and it was delicious, almost like my mums food. I will definitely order again from them.

Food is ok. We order Nasi goring and it wasn’t up to what we expected. No flavour. Also one of the sea food kothu looks they have used some out of date ingredients. Bcos it gave a small. Rest of the other 2 was good. Thank you

The food was delivered cold and not at a temperature suitable for consumption. When I called the restaurant their comment was I had to mention in comments it I wanted it warm. This isn't a short eat. It's rice and curry. Why would anyone order takeaway for warming at home. This is ridiculous. So instead of being able to eat it straight away now I need to put it in the oven for 15-20 minutes. It's a real pity as I'm a regular customer and so is my wife, just not through the app.

Found this little hidden gem in our search for good Sri Lankan food. The cute little diner was decorated with colourful art and had a lovely vibe. Food was nothing but AMAZING!!! There was four of us who all got different different food, and they were alll so tasty in all the different ways. I had the prawn curry which was SO MUCH TASTIER than I wanted it. They also had the best cold coffee I have tasted till this day- highly recommended!!

Bought 3 slices of cake- tasted very dry and bordering on going off. When I called to ask when it was made or what the use by date is was fobbed off and told to heat in the microwave before eating and hung up on. They did say after repeated questioning that it was 3 days old but not sure I believe that. At £4 per slice, suffice to say I will not be returning.

Yako has the most tastiest and cleanest Sri Lankan food. Love the chicken kottu and fish rolls the most !!!!!!

I went yesterday with a friend and my friend was vegetarian, I didn’t know he didn’t eat egg and we ordered cheese koththu and after we got it he asked them if there’s egg in it by chance and they said yes after saying he doesn’t eat egg due to his religion they quickly offered to remake another one. It was actually our fault but they remade a new koththu to us very quickly. The koththu was so tasty but need to be more spicy 🥹

Used to like the food here. Today ordered kotthu roti and roti was completely uncooked. Had to throw away and order something.

I used to love their food, but my last two experiences have been disappointing. Today, I bought Veg Fried Rice, and it was not fresh. The rice was uncooked, and I even found a stone in it. It was a waste of money and my lunch break. That's why changing my review.

Halfway through my meal and gotta give respect to the Devilled mutton - totally delicious! Lovely place and so far I am in love with my new local restaurant. Staff are lovely and it is great to see the owner (Daz) on the floor interested in what works and what doesn't.

We just came here to have lunch. Food is like heaven for the Sri Lankan taste. But there is a Romanian lady she is so noisy and she is shouting yelling and acting like the boss. and telling that she is the one who is training others and blah blah and she is shouting at an old man who is related to the owners sister as she is telling to a boy. So disgusted. We just needed to have lunch in a calm environment. Dont go to the yako in harriw on the hill because there is a mess with that lady. I recommend only take way. The way that lady yells is really bullshit. She talks to others very badly. Even though we ate, our blood only heated up.

Had the yako special with 2 meat option. The chicken was stale and not cooked evenly. Prawns also weren’t very fresh. The coffee walnut cake was dry. The cake had no coffee flavour in it.

As it was my local shop orderd lamprise I orderd food on the 9th to be collect it on 10th went to the shop ask for my food came out ice cold. The reply from the staff was.. If you want it hot it will take time. Great... Will never ever visit there again.. wont recommend for hotfood at all Yes for ice cold food dont even Think about

Ordered the special 2 veg curry combo meal, but got a large bowl of very dry rice with a tiny bit of vegetable on top. Not a curry dish that I was looking forward to. Forced to eat rice by itself. The veg is basic chopped carrots, peas and sweetcorn that comes from a cheap frozen veg pack. Could have easily done the same thing and spent £1 buying my own frozen veg pack and throwing it on some rice. Very disappointed. This is not a curry dish and restaurant quality. Avoid.

Tried out the food for the first time on reccommendation, and ordered a couple of items for takeaway. Food was excellent, personal favourites were the pol rottie, ribbon cake and lamprie. Will definitely be back when next in Harrow

Coffee spilled over very bad delivery

Amazing cuisine..the Yako special is just wow...tried the tempered pineapple with fish and white rice....the staff always look after the customers and are always so welcoming.

I have ordered through Uber eats two fish and egg triangles and one lump rice, both order was very cold and egg was like rubber. There was one lump rice it’s says frozen, but I have ordered the other one . That one also came really cold.

Had a quick lunch. Very good service and fabulous Sri Lankan food. Topped up with the best ice coffee in town.

They couldn't fullfill my expectation... Looks like Taste fading away by the time... Kottu was so dry and no taste... I highly recommended to my European friend and embarrassed ..

I ordered the Polos Curry (Jackfruit) but got the aubergine one instead. Apart from that, the quality and taste is great.

Food came out warm. Deville prawn was good. Good portion of mutton curry. It would be even better if the meat was more tender. Friendly staff. Would try the appetizers next time.

I order a lot from Yako and today ordered the combo of devised mutton and beans with rice. Sorry to say that the amount of mutton curry was half the portion you normally get with the other meat options. So will not order devilled mutton again.

Tthis really good food and good portions especially for lunch. You can buy a tasty hot meal, here for between £7 and £9 and it is properly authentically cooked with flavour and lots of meat. It is not skimpy it represents good value. I think i may come here at meast once per week - far far better than sandwiches or meal deals. I enjoyed the Sti Lankan chicken biryani. It was good. And is recommended. The assistance is friendly personal and feels like a family owned restaurant. I like it

The hot butter cuttlefish is the worst i have ever had. It wasnt fresh. It has been boiled before being fired so the texture was felt like hard rubber. The smell was terrible so I had to throw the entire container after tasting one piece.

The Pol sambal quantity is so less not happy with it

We noticed when walking by and dropped in for a quick late lunch/bite. Informal cafe with reasoable prices, quality food and a good host, Lara. We liked everything in terms of authenticity, my wife had a Lamprais which was good and generous and my Mutton Buriyani was v.good. Loved the concept of home made lime juice rather than something contributing profits to a big company. Top marks to the chef for authenticity. We will obviously go back

Yako is a lovely Sri Lankan 'take away' place tucked away like a gem, in Harrow. Excellent Sri Lankan food reminiscent of a bygone era in Colombo. If one remembers Pagoda, Rodrigo's (still there in Colombo) and Green Cabin of yesteryear, then Yako tops all of them put together. The mutton curry, fried rice and tempered fried rice is to die for. The Lamprais is absolutely super along with other succulent Sri Lankan dishes. It has seating for about 15 people but they do really well on takeaway, which everyone enjoys! One should never miss the home made lime juice and iced coffee...only thing missing in the ice coffee is the scoop of vanilla ice cream. Perhaps I dare to ask that next time, along with my mutton roll and malu paan!

Delightful staff - Rajiv and Nikki, bright spotlessly clean surroundings & delicious food! We shared a vegetarian Yako Special - Aubergine Modju and Mixed Vegetable curries, saffron rice, 2 papadams, pol sambol, mango chutney and 2 bottles of water - all for £10. Tremendously good value. As promised, a happy Sri Lankan experience and 'food for the soul'. Thank you!

This was my first time trying Sri Lankan food. I was literally walking past and was drawn to the colourful decor of the restaurant. Walked in and asked for the most “Sri Lankan” meal on the menu. The staff were really pleasant. They recommended the Lamprais - I opted for the seafood option and well, chef’s kiss 😋 It was filling and not too spicy. If I visit this side of town again, I’d definitely return and try other items on the menu

Excellent food and service right in the heart of Harrow.

Came here today with my mum, and really, really enjoyed the food. We were pleasantly surprised, the food here is great for a takeout, much better than the others we've tried in the area. My mum remarked that the lamprais is less oily than what we'd get in Sri Lanka! Thank you for the food, I'm so glad there's a quality, homestyle option nearby!

As a regular customer, I noticed the size of chicken roll is becoming smaller, and the hot chocolate and coffee is too watery, when I requested for a bit of milk in the hot chocolate, they refused as they serve hot chocolate without a tinge of milk😞
