Woosey's Catch of Conwy in Conwy

This was the best fish and chips we had during our stay in Conwy. We tried another well reviewed chippy on our first night but wish we’d gone here sooner!

My friend has a lodge outside Conwy so came here to take fish & chips back. Everything, literally everything freshy cooked and you can tell! Superb quality and you get what you pay for, can't wait to be back for a weekend! Staff are super friendly and enjoy a bit of batter....sorry banter!

Our fish was cooked to order and chips freshly fried. Flakey cod and golden chips curry and peas for just over a tenner. Asked for and got batter bits which made my day.

Very fresh fish and chips cooked to order. We would have returned had we been staying longer in the area.

What Can I say? Consistently good. Each visit the service is both covid safe ,organised and excellent. The fish and chips are just the best. Excellent.

As a change to sitting in a restaurant for our evening meal one night, we decided to try the fish and chips from Wooseys and ate them in the park next door in the setting sun. The food is excellent, cooked to order and was much enjoyed by both of us.

We arrived late at a local campsite having passed Woosey’s on our way in. As we arrived at Woosey’s they had just closed however the wonderful lady was able to serve us as there were a few bits left. Honestly these were the best chips we had ever eaten, we are definitely going to visit earlier on another day as we imagine the food to be even better. The lady saved us from floppy sandwiches, thank you!

Excellent COVID safe service from friendly staff. The food was fresh and delicious and so reasonably priced. Brilliant!!

The best food from a fish and chip shop I’ve ever eaten. Visiting for the weekend from Wilmslow and the meat and potato pie was gorgeous. My husband had fish and mushy peas and thought it was the best he had tasted too. We had one portion of chips between us and it was ample - I couldn't finish all mine! Service was very slick adhering to social distancing at all times, serving at the door. Please wear a mask to protect the staff as they wear one to protect you😷 I photographed the beautiful Welsh cottage next door whist waiting. Plenty of parking in the car park opposite. We are staying in a lodge not far from Woosey's and everything was tasty, hot and totally unspoiled, just delicious. Best pie I’ve ever had from a chippy❤️

Tucked away in Gyffin great fish and chips. Not open at lunch time only evening at time of review. Crispy light batter everything cooked to order. Great find.

This small and tucked away Fish and Chip shop has an enviable reputation with locals and tourists alike. It's in a slightly awkward place at the bottom of Gyffin hill, but there is a small public car park across the road. Don't get here too late as they shut at 8pm, but it is worth It. The Fish is fresh and will only be cooked for your order, so you let them know as you arrive. They will take your order and then you wait at a suitable distance for them to call your order out when it is ready. Conwy has a number of good Fish and chips but this is definitely one of the best. They do have a range of other options as you would expect.

Delicious chips, sausage and gravy, good portions and selection of drinks. Reasonably priced and the staff are always lovely 😊

Had a take away from here on last day of our holiday. Had cod, scampi chips and a children sausage meal. All delicious and plenty on the children’s meal. Will definitely visit again next time.

Best fish & chips I’ve had for a very very long time. Melt in your mouth fish and chips perfectly soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. Appropriate precautions were in place to respect Covid distancing etc. I will be returning and recommending to others.

Lovely freshly cooked fish and chips. Ordered at the door and then waited in the car to be called over to collect. Well organised and everything crisp and fresh. Would highly recommend.

Stumbled across wooseys while out driving. Found a hidden gem! Popped in had chips sausages and curry and chips battered sausage and mushy peas. Chips were perfect and Curry sauce was amazing and so were the peas! And service was spot on the lady and gentleman were lovely.Will be coming back.

This takeaway has rapidly established itself as the best in the area. Moist and fresh fish, crispy batter, nice chips and good portions. Add to this the friendly and efficient staff and it all makes for a pleasant experience.

We visited the shop twice during our recent stay. The first time we had the fish and chip meal with peas and the second time, scampi. Both meals were delicious. The fish/scampi/chips were cooked exactly right. The fishes were large as were the portions of chips! A must to visit if you are in Conwy.

The best fish, chips and peas I have had for a long time. Staff were great, service was great. Food was delicious. Even my father in law was impressed with the food and that's not an easy thing to do, especially where fish and chips are concerned!

Chip shop is extremely clean and very well priced, food was delicious best chippy in Conwy. Meals for adults, kids, good range of items freshly cooked and good stock of traditional cold drinks. Lady owner is lovely too, we will definitely be coming back and this will be our number 1 go to chippy. 2 adult meals plus drinks £13, fresh fish, perfect batter and chips.

We got there 5 minutes after they had officially closed but we’re willing to serve us the chips they had left, a perfect portion for us, and a massive piece of fish which was cut in half & cooked to perfection. Great little chippy definitely worth a visit.

After the disappointment of Fish Tram Chips, this chip shop has restored all my faith in chip shops. I had an amazing large fish and chips with a delightful spicy curry sauce. It was cooked freshly, the chips tasted like fish and chip shop chips and it was most satisfying and filling. The portions were decent and at a good price. I fully recommend this place to anyone who likes their food and expects good service and good value. I will definitely be going again. Thank you Woosey's.

We visited Woosey’s just as they were closing, however, they were very accommodating and kindly put some chips on for us. The chips were lovely, as was the fish. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Thank you for the great customer service. It was appreciated after a long drive.

We ordered for 6 of us, the F&S was sublime, fish really fresh and delicately cooked, the batter light and thin, and the jockey whips really good. Really pleasant and efficient staff, good value for money and spotlessly clean.

I visited the chip shop whilst on holiday. The fish was cooked to order and was lovely and crisp. The chips were also good and everything was reasonably priced. My only concern was the fat that was left in the chip box... it was a solid fat but not beef fat. I hope it’s not palm fat? Maybe someone should ask the owner.

We have now used this chippy about half a dozen times and it has been spot on each time. So many chip shops can be good one night and grim the next. The fish is chunky, the batter light and the chips are dry and tasty. The wedge of lemon and serving of tartare sauce with the fish is a nice touch. We will continue to use this place as long as they maintain these high standards.

We were camping in Conwy at the weekend and had our tea from Woosey's last night. OMG they were beautiful. Very friendly staff too. Keep up the good work.

Best proper fish and chips I've had in a long time. Freindly environment and even picked up tips of places to visit whilst staying locally. Definitely recommend.

This is definitely the best chippy in Conwy. Best fish and chips I've had. Also had the scampi which was delicious. All of the staff are really nice and friendly.

We arrived fairly late Friday, and arrived at the chip shop on closing time,,,the staff all went out of their way to ensure we had some food,,all very nice especially the fish...well worth a trip and only a few mins from Conwy touring park behind the supermarket.

Fish and chips both undercooked. Soggy batter. Limp pale chips.Really disappointed today, we’ve been impressed before.

Popped in last night 06/07/18 We only live up the road We had cod and chips for four Really good white cod and plenty of chips complete with a slice of lemon and tartare sauce and we had a laugh with the girls who served us. Can recommend !

I took my children here last weekend as my sister told me how lovely the food was. The food was excellent. The staff were very friendly. The place is clean. We had a favourite chippy until we tried this one. now this is by far our favourite.

Everything cooked fresh, yummy and piping hot when we get the food home. Ran by a really lovely family, always a smile and a warm welcome. Our 'go-to' for a cheeky chips supper, every time. A must visit.

The fish and chips were delicious. The fish came with a slice of lemon and tartare sauce in a little pot. Everything seemed to be done with great care.

Went here for our teas at the weekend after finding it on a Google search for places to eat near Rowen. Absolutely beautiful, highly recommend & brilliant value for money. Staff very friendly & accommodating.

Passed this several times on our way back to our hotel so thought we would try.nice clean shop,pleasant staff car park opposite IF you can find a space otherwise i dont know where you park. Cod is only available- no plaice or haddock.us northerners like a choice but otherwise pleasant food and nice mushy peas

So lucky that this is ten minutes walk from our house. Lovely clean shop serving fantastic freshly cooked food with excellent chips and batter for the fish. Special fav is the curry sauce and scampi. Good little touches like tartare sauce and lemon. Popularity of the shop shows its success and quality.

In the area on holiday and Wooseys was suggested by the cottage owner. Wow easy to park, spotless shop and probably the best fish and chips ever. Freshly cooked, red hot, served with tartare sauce and lemon. The fish was plump and delicious. The chips were all properly cooked with no scrappy bits. so good we went back a few days later.Highly recommended A1

We’ve tried every fish and chip shop in the area but this is by far the best. The staff are lovely and the shop is spotless. I love the added touch of lemon and tartare sauce they give with the meals. We live in Llandudno but come over every Friday evening for our supper. Fabulous food.

Service is above and beyond what you expect these days. Food excellent. Parking just opposite. Great to finally have a good chippy in this area!

We were back in Wales for a family visit and heard our old chip shop had new owners and had been refurbished so off we went to sample their chips, what a great family, they showed us around and served up excellent freshly cooked food . We wish them all the best in the snazzy new look chippy and highly recommended the food.
