Wongs in Southend-on-Sea

My family love this Chinese....I have the beef with green peppers and black bean sauce, special fried rice, chicken chow mein, sweet and sour chicken hong kong style, crispy shredded beef, and sweet and sour chicken balls....others in my house have mixed vegetables with cashew nuts, chicken curry, salt and chilli chicken, egg fried rice and Singapore rice noodles...it's our favourite!!!!

Shame 0 stars don't exist! Can't even post a photo of the food as it will make you 🤢! Instead, look at the photo of those rank days old prawn 🦐 crackers we had! Straight in the bin!

Love Wongs food but go in there and look at the dirt, the floor, the walls....and it never changes! Makes you wonder what the kitchen is like if the public bit is filthy 🤔

Had a takeaway from Wongs today after a friend recomended had the lemon chicken, capital spear ribs, chicken chow main and egg fried rice. The food was so tasty it was lovely, quick services even though I didnt pre order and the price was very fair. Well done wongs will be back for sure. 😋😋😋😋👍👍👍👍😀😀😀😉

Awful experience and awful customer service, had food delivered and the items wasn't placed in the bag correctly, spilling contents all over other items, driver was extremely helpful but David on the phone was a nightmare, his customer service was awful, we call the takeaway and explain what had happened, David said he would send out replacement food, after twenty minutes he called again asking what had happened to which we explained again he said he'll replace the rice but the other food would of gone cold by then so he said he would replace it all, after another ten minutes he called us again saying "we can't be bothered and have refunded back to the card" also said "we should be happy with that and the kitchen was closed" so we're without food and had an awful experience, the driver was the only person who cared but the restaurant staff was a nightmare, never use if you want to be spoken to like an idiot.

You don’t appreciate how good Wongs is until you try the others!

Very rarely get a bad meal here and we use a lot amongst family around Southend. Been some crackers lately!!

Absolutely disgusting food, ordered a beef chow mien from the menu, and it came with this awful sauce smothered over it, no where on the menu did it say that it comes with sauce, also the sweet and sour pork Hong Kong was only half full, terrible. I tried to get it rectified by calling them and was told it’s normal, no it’s not!!!! I have had plenty of beef chow mien and never had sauce. AVOID AT ALL COST

I've had some really nice takeaways from Wong's over the years but unfortunately the last two have been very poor quality, BBQ ribs used to be lovely with plenty of meat, last order was nothing more than fat & bone & tasted reheated, very poor quality for the priced charged. I will not be using Wong's again.

VERY VERY RUDE AND Put chicken in a veggie meal !!!!! .... Doesn’t even deserve 1 star ... the man behind the desk is always very rude when you talk to him. Tonight I ordered plain chow Mein as I’m a vegetarian. I got home to find chicken in there so rang up and he argued on the phone to me saying no there isn’t so we took it to him and he made us another one. Got that home to find the same thing with chicken in I took it back down there for him to start moaning and being very rude to me and then get his friends involved all looking and saying it is not chicken for someone that has not eaten meat for 4 years I know what chicken is !!!! He was very rude did not apologise for this at all. He was just watching telly on his iPad. He then told me they only use noodles and veg. That’s all then another man said well it’s egg and then the guy behind the counter was like I didn’t see egg go in and then says oh no it’s egg not chicken’ yeah just egg.... IT IS NOT EGG !!!! I can’t upload pictures but Yoh can tell by pictures it’s chicken and my boyfriend tasted it and it was chicken! AVOID THIS PLACE !!!!!

I couldnt believe how filthy this place was. Covered in ants nests and the guy on reception was filfthy and constantly coughing everywhere! I didnt order my food after seeing this.

Never had a take away delivered that is still very hot. Excellent food, never had a bad take away. Highly recommended

Absolute rubbish I ordered shredded chicken curry and egg fried rice when I got home chicken chow mein was in my little silver box drove all the way back only to be told that is what I had ordered if I wanted that why am I back in your crap shop

Twice my mums partner has almost choked from a metal piece of broken cooker that has fallen into their food. Our complaint wasn't taken seriously at all and they didn't care that my mums partner had broken his tooth or that a poor child could have been seriously harmed! When asked if the owner would be notified so that the cooker could be changed, I was told that he didn't speak English and that he wouldn't understand. We were offered a free meal, but as you can imagine, that was the last thing we wanted. I will never order from there again and I would advise anybody who wants their teeth or who has young children who enjoy chinese food not to either!
