Wing Wah Restaurant (Buffet Open As Usual) in Birmingham

So surely when you take a booking of 19 people 13 of them being children.1 having massive dietary requirements which he can’t eat all stated on booking, you would think they would no this when we arrived. No they never the person who couldn’t eat was told to sit in the bar. So when addressed was allowed to sit with our table but in there own language was told to watch his every single move, to make sure he wasn’t eating. Then we was told to be quite not once but three times we wasn’t being over noisy there was a lot of us. Then we get to the food I can’t tell you enough how we will never return here the food was absolutely awful. In many ways dried out wet sloppy also most of it was cold. For the money we spent we was treated disgusted also. The toilets were disgusting very poor hygiene. If you want to visit a Chinese buffet I would give this place a miss. The staff do not make you feel welcome and the food is a very poor standers. Such ashame as was for a birthday.

Food plates were cold. Some of the food was cold and luke warm, kids running around no control didn't care. First time being here no-one explained where each food plate was.. such as starters, mains Restaurant was empty and placed us next to a family with kids... I get that tough but when trying to have a nice meal with wife they could have put us somewhere else, when asked they said sorry ready clean for tomorrow!! Explain to the manager in at time didn't seem to care and just said so many love us!!! Hmm total review 3.8 This was a total waste of £65!!! The variety wasn't as much too. There were less deserts. We definitely won't be going back!!!!

Very big vegetarian/vegan section with lots of mock meats and seafood. We got the sizzling mock duck with spring onion and ginger sauce, salt and chili mock prawns, eggless pineapple fried rice and eggless sweetcorn soup. They were all vegan and delicious, especially the mock duck. Would definitely recommend veggies/vegans to come here because they tried really hard to include many options for us. Can't wait to come here again!

The dim sum and table service here is great. Me and my family have been going to Wing Wah for years and have always wanted to come back. But after today's experience in the new restaurant in the city centre I don't think we will go back again. Their previous reputation has been tarnished because of their strict separation of dim sum and buffet diners. Half of our family dined away from us in the end after being falsely told they could eat their buffet meal downstairs. The attitude from one of the managers also helped to ruin our afternoon.

This place is brilliant, fantastic customer service

One of the few good Cantonese restaurant left in Birmingham, they serve nice tasty dim sum menu during the day time which are reasonable priced They also offer a menu if you don't want dim sum. The staff there are generally helpfull. Inside you can see the chef's cooking if stood next to the window. Wheelchair access is through two sets of heavy doors, inside there is a disabled WC. There is a small parking structure opposite offering parking spaces.

Unreal Cantonese food. Authentic and fairly priced.

Much better than the previous location. You get 2 hours free parking in the car park opposite. Service is fast and friendly. Food was excellent

All you can eat buffet, well worth the money. Down side we had a jug of coke .too big for 2 people but cheaper that by glass .

The restaurant is not well lit but it provides a unique dining experience. The food is not bad and service is good.

晚飯時段，全間酒楼只得四張枱，包括我哋四位，共十個人幫櫬，場面冷靜，食物亦同樣冷靜，唔夠熱，味道强差人意好似食冷盤，尢期是片皮鴨，啲皮凍冰冰，半隻片皮鴨份量少得驚人，得十零塊鴨皮重要大量虾片托底，皮笆荳腐似橡膠子弹，咁既質同量，不作改善好難有回頭客。

We'd heard the dim sum were the thing have here, what they are famed for. But they are so repetitive, prawn somethings, pork somethings, prawn and pork somethings, the meat was all bones and for someone like me allergic to shellfish I was very restricted. Nice place with immaculate service. If we went again we'd eat a la carte.

I came in with the wife for a pre theatre meal , the food was lovely ! Good food , good service! We will be back !

me and my husband came here for a? pre theatre meal , we had the set menu for 2 and it was lovely . we told the waitress that we were in a rush so we wanted everything bought out at the same time. The food came out fresh and hot and we had very quickly. We had plenty of time to finish our meal with a bottle of wine and even had time for there daily selection of desserts. Next time time we go out to the Alex or hippodrome , we know where to go !

All terrible sick after having a big party in the large Karaoke room. It in the basement, certainly didn’t have good ventilation! After had dinner and Karaoke until late evening, Not sure if the restaurant has switched off all of air conditioning for saving money , 15 of us next day all sick ! coughing, body aching and terribly ill. all of us off work for over a week because we went to Wing Wah that night ! . The place is very filthy , really concern their hygiene! Never go there again !!!

I came here with my parents for some dim sum , they absolutely loved it and said it was a friendly place and the food was great ! They love dim sum so much and they said wing wah standard had improved since changing Venus !

Some of the best dim sum food I had outside of Hong Kong. Might be even better than some places in Hong Kong, but 100% best in Birmingham China town

Hidden at the back of a side street is this gem of a restaurant. Don't be confused like me and assume it is just the rear entrance to the buffet restaurant!

Dim sum here is good quality and tasty. Excellent choice as well. Order on a chitty with both Chinese and English versions. Tea is charged per head at 80p each. Noodle dishes to supplement available as well. Note that Wing Wah closes here at Nechells after 2 decades at the end of September and reopens in Birmingham Chinatown on 1 October 2018. Ask for opening offer discount voucher leaflet.

Good easy access restaurant to Wing Yip. Dim sum tasted good and fresh. Although they forgot our char sui cheung fun from our order until we prompted. It was a bit late so it came when you'd be getting your desserts. We ordered roast duck and the flavour is very weak, not like the ducks you typically get from London China Town. Skimping on the Spices I think. Also the dipping scented soy sauce was only served in small tubs with not enough sauce. But it wasn't fragrant or rich enough.

Getting worse and worse with increasing rising prices. Doesn't seem a good idea that this restaurant is moving into central (Chinese Quarter) Birmingham in a few weeks' time too.

Shocked as segregated from chinese families who were allowed buffet. Note on the door but as outsiders we had a long journey. Never going back but food was good as remembered before.

Busy place, but still poor service

Pork and prawn dumpling (烧卖）came 40min late. What’s worse is that the manager insisted us to take away nonetheless using unnecessarily rude language. Utterly disappointed. A stain on an already mediocre Sunday brunch. Wouldn’t recommend.

Good food, nice. However, felt misled when I see beer on draught then see my 568 ml pint coming out of a 440ml tin with a big head that still did not fill the glass. That aside, good food

Dim sum and hot pot is great here, definitely the place to go if you want authentic food rather than the buffet which doesn’t have great variety and isn’t really authentic Chinese food.

Visited here many years ago...driving off the M6 and A38 we decided to visit again. The restaurant was virtually empty, there was no smile or welcome, just a 'how many?'...we waited ages before our order was taken and waited nearly forty minutes for our first dishes to arrive. We waited another forty minutes when the waiter asked us if we were waiting for more. When we informed him that we were waiting for several more dishes he went to check. When it was brought out to us, it wasn't what we had ordered at all! Overall the service was dire, the food was only just average, the ambience and cleanliness was dated and smelly. Not going back!

Great food and serve quickly on a Sunday. The waitress also remove plates quickly. Sometimes you want the sauce from the empty dish, it will just gone in the wind! You have to be quick as they don't ask and remove it without you noticing it.
