We had Gluten free Fish and chips yesterday, very disappointed, presentation was good , but food quality, more like a cafe meal , frozen chips ,hard batter ,no Gluten free condiments, all for £18.50 a head , we used to eat there every couple of months, but food quality gone down, and the price gone up , we will still shop there ,but certainly won't be dining !

A furniture shop is not the first place I would normally think of when looking for a meal. More surprisingly so when there is also a coffee bar on the same site. But judging by it's popularity on a Sunday lunchtime a lot of others do, and I can see why as our Sunday lunch was very enjoyable. Unfortunately they seemed to be missing quite a few things on the menu so the choice wasn't there. No roast beef was a bit of a disappointment but the chicken was very good. The quality was faultless and the portions were quite generous which made it feel good value for money. The service was very friendly and obliging, so much so that I did feel sorry for the girl that was run off her feet going to and from the kitchen.

Very very slow service - we went in on a Sunday and there was barely anyone in the restaurant. Nobody approached our table whilst we waited for food or during meal, to check on us. Restaurant staff aimlessly scurrying around and empty restaurant, very difficult to grab anyone when you need something. Food was however good, a traditional fish and chips recipe, fried without beer batter. It gave the perfect crispy texture with a moist, flakey fish inside. The pie was also very nice, along with the chips which appeared to be double fried. The onion rings however did seem to be on the pricey side and very oily ! The soup of the day was very tasty and did just enough for us, whilst we waited an awfully long time for the food to arrive. Very pricey but expected from Housing Units restaurant BUT they really need to up their service game. Won’t be returning

Went for breakfast, waitress at door was lovely and attentive, really sweet with kids. The set up is nice and relaxed, big table but outdoor type rattan chairs. It’s order at the counter not waitress service. The food itself is expensive, £14.95 for avocado, egg and bacon on toast which I thought was a lot, eggs overcooked, kids bacon sandwich for £5.50 was very small with 1 slice bacon, £1.50 for small milkshake in a box with straw, £3.35 for peppermint tea. Overall only ok for the price, £44 for 3 breakfasts & drinks, we left with the opinion we should’ve gone to Morrisons round the corner!

Went to the restaurant for Sunday lunch - avoid it! Appalling basically. Waited 45 mins for a poor lunch - 5 slices of wafer this roast beef, the smallest Yorkshire pudding which was like rubber, 2 roast potatoes which has no crunch to them, 1 new potatoes which was like mush, carrot battons nd beans were ok and the small portion of cauliflower cheese was actually good. But for near £17 I would expect something pretty special! So, shocking service and rubbish food - can’t recommend at all, find somewhere else!

Really disappointed, have been before and it has been lovely, but this time awful. Service very slow, painfully so. Lack of options with drinks. Food very dry. Over priced experience will go elsewhere in future.

Save your money and go somewhere else. The food was mediocre and ridiculously overpriced. More expensive than many similar restaurants in the city and even more expensive than many in London. A mocha made with Cadbury's hot chocolate powder costs £4.80. Never in my life have I seen such a rip-off. Four people getting lunch cost over £65 and that was without any coffees. Don't bother ordering the large chips either, its the same size as the small and costs £3 more.

I ordered the Falafel & Houmus salad which was simply a salad bag with dry leaves and absolutely no dressing. I asked for olive oil which after 10 minutes I was told was not available. The food took 30 minutes to arrive even though the restaurant was half full and we even had to order the food ourselves from the till. Well overpriced for the food and service provided. Definitely will not be returning.

Bought house stuff from here before, called in to look at lights, could not find any (a lot of tacky shiny chrome stuff from China at big money) so went into their Wickentree cafe for some lunch, wish we hadnt bothered. The prices were ridiculous for what was served. "Mango and Brie Crispy Bites served with sweet chilli sauce £5.95..." This was two tiny out of the freezer filo bites deep fried with a thimble of sauce! "Homemade Soup of the Day £6.95..." Decent soup but tiny 1/2 size bowl with a small piece of bread.. "Hot Chicken and Bacon Caesar Wrap with hot chicken fillet, dry cured bacon, cos lettuce, parmesan cheese and caesar dressing £10.50.." Gosh, sounds great however reality was way diffrent! Not hot, no cheese and about 1/2 the size of a wrap you get for lunch from Tesco! "Large Chips £4.25" These were a joke, a small shaker of frozen fries, we questioned the portion, they said it was the large, we told them it was ridiculous and sent it back for a credit. The pleasant person serving agreed and said it is crazy, poor staff having to suffer needless customer issues. We dont mind paying the prices provided its decent value and quality but not when they are taking the mick. No wonder the owners cut about in Porsches and Bentleys with multi-million pound homes. Fair play if they gave decent value but shame on em' for ripping normal folk off! AVOID Stick to John Lewis...

Piano is the only positive to this place. Ordered little bites- 3 for £15. It took 45 minutes to come, despite there only being around 5 other tables seated. Be warned, you need 3 per person. 3 tiny bland, unseasoned chicken skewers advertised as “bbq chicken” but there is no flavour to anything but the sweet chilli dip they come with. Brisket fries were just freezer chips, with (again) unseasoned beef thrown on top. No flavour to anything at all. The cheese bites would have redeemed it but you only get 2 and again they are tiny. Ordered cake to try and redeem our experience, but the cheesecake is obviously mass produced supermarket rubbish, completely horrible consistency at £6 a slice! the vanilla slice was actually a cream slice, again overpriced for 1 small pudding. This used to be a lovely little place to go for a coffee and a nibble, but the standards have dropped terribly, and I can no longer justify the extortionate prices. Won’t be returning.

Myself, my mum and grandma went today for afternoon tea. We have been lots of times before and had no complaints, but having not been for a while we checked out the reviews. Due to some negative reviews we weren't sure what to expect. The experience we had taught us to remember that for every negative review there will be hundreds of happy customers not bothering to leave one. The service was fantastic, the staff were polite and helpful, the afternoom tea was well priced and tasted lovely. We had a top up of tea and two of us took scones home in boxes which wasn't any issue at all. We all felt it was important to leave a positive review as we had such a lovely afternoon.

I have not been here for quite a while but I definitely won’t be returning soon. Price of meals have gone up which is understandable but the quality and portion size of the food is terrible. Meals on the menu state fries but what is doesn’t say is you only get a mouthful with the meal. Well over priced. 😔🙁

So bad! had lunch here today, the lady on the till was beyond rude and the food was well below average. Ordered the ‘special’ quiche which came with fries and salad. Cost £16 for the tiniest slice of quiche, About 10 chips which were from frozen and a tiny ramakin of salad! I don’t have the biggest appetite and it didn’t even fill me! Will not be back.Mum had a steak sandwich which was tasteless and also came with the freezer chips!

This cost over £12 which was very overpriced. Also ordered was three small bites for £15 again very overpriced. Will not be returning to this restaurant we felt had tho we were ripped off.
