I have been going here for over two decades now. The food is always fantastic, the portions are large and the family who owns it always seem friendly and polite.

Great fish and chips, always come here for lunch when we’re in the area. Fantastic quality and very tasty. 10/10 would recommend

I have no idea what’s happening to this place but standards are declining. We fancied a lunch time treat and came here early in the afternoon for a takeaway meal. To our horror we were served the most atrocious meal. The chips were over done. How they can serve crunchy overcooked chips is infuriating. The fish was tasteless with a slight aftertaste and the batter far too greasy. Bearing in mind we travel far and wide to get delicious food and my hubby enjoys and knows quality fish. He’s been here before and has never been served such a poor meal. For over £35 for 2 we expect better quality. We’d left for our lunch picnic before we realised how poor it was. The chap had given us an additional piece of fish which would have been a lovely gesture if the quality was good. Unfortunately we just couldn’t eat it. We were hungry so we tried but had to give up! The chips and fish seemed old and compared to what we’ve had here before it was completely below par! Bring back your previous standards and stop cutting corners. We won’t be rushing back.

Have been here so many times, cannot remember since when, and never disappointed. Usually end up taking home half the fish to enjoy the next day. Haddock particularly good. Fried for you. Friendly staff. Prices fair.

These people shot themselves in the foot by dealing with a perfectly reasonable request (I requested a compensatory "gesture") that concerned an inedible (unless you like to eat a melted mush of what is supposed to be pastry). On previous visits, I have had excellent fish & chips, but this time I opted for a minced meat & onion pie (Pukah?). Although they have an oven onsite, they use a microwave to heat the pie. Microwaves, pastry, bread & the like, are a no-no if you want to retain the edible texture of the pastry, etc. Microwaves melt pastry & make it mushy. I left 95% of the ruined pastry on the plate & made do with scooping out the minced meat. My request for a compensatory gesture was at first ignored, then met with verbal abuse (words, tone & volume) and absurd claims by the boss man that he had 30 years of experience & knew how to "cook" [sic]. That merely shows that he's been doing it wrong all this time. He then denied having an oven, but when I pointed out its presence, he said it would take hours to oven-heat the pie. This is nonsense. He begrudgingly accepted my suggestion to lop £2 off the bill. His customers heard all of this kerfuffle on-site.

Been buying our fish and chips for years. Staff always remember us they give really generous portions really fresh food and if you ask triple cooked chips, always happy to return.

mhy wife and I have never been let down with the quality,whether grilled or fried fish, yes prices have increased substantially, but the blame is due to the increases in price of cooking oil and the fish itself. we have been let down and look forward to go back in the future

Their prices have shot up . I can’t see how with the prices charged and the pies are £4 and awful . Chips small portion are £3 . They prefer everyone to buy fish .

So sorry to be writing this as we were so looking forward to our fish and chips but it was not great at all. Chips were meant to be double cooked but not crispy at all and importantly fish was sitting in warming cabinet so not crispy batter and just not great flavour. Sorry

I am thoroughly convinced that nowhere does goujons like the White House Huge takaway portion, more than enough for three people, always fresh, piping hot and full of flavour, I cannot recommend highly enough, you would never be disappointed

Best fish I've had in a chippie for ages. Moist, tasty, fresh, large and with nice batter. Cod and haddock both good. Chips OK+ Friendly service and nice that we weren't at all rushed to leave as soon as we had finished eating.

The fish is superb, flaky moist and delicious. The batter is crispy and tasty. They’re definitely in the top 5 of great chippies in London. The chips are variable sometimes scrumptious and just perfect other times too crispy (as if coated) and almost average. Same with the mushy peas. Last time we o ordered it was almost like soup.
