Dog owners of Darlington, spend your hard earned beer money elsewhere! These people are dog haters. Avoid. Apparently this post is abusive according to the pub lol. Maybe your policies are discriminatory? Many customers I've spoken to, without dogs, thought your policy is ill conceived and self defeating, and ultimately, you're the ones losing money. In fact, keep your ban 😂. Also, if you think a negative review is abusive, maybe you should see someone about that! At least you've given me a good laugh 👍😂

Everything was perfect. We visited with friends and we all enjoyed our meals. Lovely staff.

The food was good and came fast, even though the pub was very busy because of a family quiz night. Quiz night looked good for kids.

Popped in for lunch and they have various offers each day. We ordered from the lunch menu this time. Food and service very good. Friendly staff and Chris was very helpful

The customer service was ok. The atmosphere, though quite a few in seemed dull. The food was better. I had the katsu chicken burger with skin chips ,which came with a drink - burger Tuesday, £11.75; and my partner had fish & chips. £7.95 I tried the Hobgoblin gold and was mild and very nice. Wheelchair accessible and toilets.

Nice pleasent place to have a quiet drink, and a meal if you want, we, the bros and I have enjoyed some good times here.

I understand you were busy, we ordered our food at 7:36 and we asked for starters to come first, these didn’t arrive u too after half past 8!! They were simple too, chicken strips and cheese bites. And our main courses also arrived at the same time as the starters meaning we couldn’t have a break in between as the food was getting cold. It wasn’t hot when it came out of the kitchen either. Won’t be returning!

Great local pub with a very varied food menu. Price a bit high especially for drinks. A good selection of dishes for vegetarians.

On first impressions it was a nice and aesthetically pleasing place, spacious and plenty of TVs to watch the sports if that's what you want. The service was very good, and very pleasant and kind staff. The food though left something to be desired, it wasn't terrible but it didn't pop with much flavour, I did still enjoy my meal though. I had the ultimate ribs and chicken platter and my partner had the hunters chicken. The hunters chicken was disappointing it was just a chicken breast and dry, it didn't seem to have on it what was described on the menu. We had a 30% discount on the main meal which made the price not bad for what we got. Without that I am not sure I would say the price was entirely worth it.

Decent place to go for food. The staff are friends. The foods fairly good for pub food. I'd not ask to go there for by birthday or anything but it's good to call in for convenience.

£6.30 for a pint of Cruz campo is scandalous, asked for my cheese baguette to be toasted but the sandwich came not toasted with a slightly warm baguette, would recommend anything else in the area

I wasn't thrilled by this pub. The meals, while cheap (£8-10) were tiny. I only had a starter, but it was overcooked and tough.

Have eaten meals here several times recently and have been very impressed. The food is delicious, they go out of their way to accommodate our autistic son's specific requirements and they are always very friendly. Nicola in particular went above and beyond today and made my son's birthday meal his favourite meal out yet! Definitely coming back.

nice atmosphere and friendly staff, food was ok in general but took 40 minutes to be served. Had to cancel two desserts as 50 minutes after ordering there was still no sign of them. Good pub for drinks but wouldn't eat here again

It's our local pub and can honestly say that the team here are amazing. They put on kids/family events and the food and service are excellent.

Perfect for a quieter drink or meal Always busy enough to have an atmosphere without being uncomfortably packed! Staff are pleasant, food is nice, reasonably priced. Just a shame I live the complete opposite end of the town!

The food is always on point, stunning options and a side salad option available when no chips are wanted and it wasn’t just lettuce, the bbq cauliflower was beautiful as always. I have been here a few times, I don’t mind the drive. Because the food is always lovely, the staff are always lovely too, coffee could be a bit warmer but I can cope

I left a new review but google reposted a very old review. NEW REVIEW On a recent visit I posted that the welcome was warm and friendly, Great choice of drinks. We were able to book a table to watch sports and used the App to order food which was good value amd arrived quickly. Plenty of TV screens to watch the football wherever you sat. Thoroughly enjoyed my visit amd Ill be back again soon.

Clean, tidy, excellent food & excellent staff. Did feel guilty as couldn't leave tip through credit card and didn't have any cash at all but will definitely make up for it when we return.

New Year’s Eve 80’s disco was really good and the atmosphere, service and staff were excellent

We popped in here after a walk for convenience. We had a 3 year old with us so was abit nervous incase it was busy and he was loud. There where plenty of seating areas so we could hide out the way. The place was nice and clean and the food was delicious! Well priced and came fast too. Would definitely go again.

First family Christmas Day dinner out and it was excellent food was lovely and staff were amazing thankyou to all and I would definitely eat out for Christmas dinner in the future would also recommend to friends and family.

Booked a table for 2 for a romantic meal with my wife. Requested a table seat away from the door. We got a seat near the window that looks into the entrance of the pub and we were placed next to a table of 10 people so not what we were hoping for at all. Nice food ruined by thoughtless table reservation!

A decent pub on the outskirts of Darlington. Been here a few times. Serve good beer and good food the service is quick with friendly staff. It's a decent place to go for food and a drink.

Great night at the White Haifer, Aycliffe Bus Preservation Society had race night to raise funds which the pub hosted and it was fabulous. Staff are so friendly, food was fabulous as well as drinks aplenty to choose from. Everyone enjoyed the night, we surely will go back there again. Highly recommended 😊😊

Absolute joke of a ‘pub’. Used to be decent but gone downhill in the last year or so from a staff and service perspective.

Came here for the mixed grill but as ut was popylar o steaks to be hadd so settled for a burgwr instead. Stayed on for the buskers afterwards which was also very good. As a big Hobgoblun fan asked if I could buy one of their glasses off them but alas no joy which is a shame as I would have paid more than it cost them.

I recently had a sirloin steak and am happy to give a great review. Cooked just as I asked and, as always, staff were extremely friendly. Thank you.

Hadn’t been here for a long time and called in for lunch. I went for the mega mixed grill which was hot and fresh and cooked as per instruction. Girlfriend had the vegetarian cheddar leek and potato pie and judging by the empty plate she had no complaints. Staff were attentive and all around provided a good experience.

Lovely meal with family at the White Heifer. Can’t fault it! The staff are friendly, service is great and the food is delicious.

Food ordered and arrived within 15 minutes which was very good. The wait at the bar for drinks however is unacceptable, waiting for nearly 10 minutes is not really acceptable. Only one girl serving and she was under pressure but she really performed well. Really need more bar staff.

The pub itself is immaculately clean, it’s a shame because this food in there use to be nice around covid time, I came in today & the food was cold, overcooked & tasteless. Nevertheless the staff were lovely & our hot drinks were too.

Went here for the first time today (ladies what lunch) the surroundings and atmosphere were lovely. The staff were lovely and friendly. The food was well presented when it came out. Unfortunately, the steak was the worst I have ever experienced. I could not chew it at all as it was so full of grissle. The steak was cooked perfectly, it was very tasty, but all except 3 mouthfuls were impossible to chew and had to be deposited out of my mouth on to the plate. Had anyone come to check if our meal was ok, I would have complained, but as we were not given any attention once the meal was paid for and served, we were not given the opportunity. It’s a shame as it looks a lovely place and the staff were very nice whilst they were interacting with us. Hopefully if we go again, we will get a better quality of steak.

Service was a bit slow, but not the worst, our requests had been read and taken care of to the best of their abilities, food was lovely, though the children's chicken dippers were a bit over cooked the kids didn't seem to notice, I was missing the sauce from my sunday dinner and we would have liked a bit more gravey. But I really am nit picking here, overall it was a good experience and the staff were lovely.

service overall great waitresses excellent, food was great very tasty was a little loud as had live singer with guitar in the bar area, but overall enjoyed food and service especially after an 8hr drive up from south wales the day before (should have been 5 + 1/2 hours) to visit family.
