Went to a comedy night. The comedy was top notch, the cocktails were even better.

Best comedy ever. Cocktails were amazing and the comedy was brilliant. The whole audience were engaged, I’m going back every Sunday!

They don't do food (apart from crisps) but you can bring your own. The owners, Ross, John & James are friendly and welcoming. Great atmosphere and dogs are allowed - and made a BIG fuss of - too. Cocktails are great and they do non alcoholic ones as well. Will defo be back. Frequently!

I am heading back to Up the Road tonight, and I remembered I owed them a review! I love coming here. The place is very cool, buzzing, I've had a great time every time I come here. The last time we sat at the bar and had so much fun talking to Kevin and James. They were very engaging hosts and mixed the most delicious cocktails.

Great place with excellent atmpshere and range of great drinks, run by 3 chaps with a passion for their work and making everyone feel welcome. Love it :)

I could be seen as being biased as I’ve enjoyed playing with 2 out of 3 owners now for a few years, but James, who I didn’t know before they owned the bar is now a firm favourite of the 3. The folks that I have introduced the bar to share my thoughts about the place anyway so here goes. Lovely looking bar. Great intimate atmosphere outside of special night hours attracting a good group of locals. Comedy nights are outrageously funny. Quiz is well run, a good laugh, and ever so slightly crazy. The bar staff are nice & friendly. The ale is great. Cocktails are divine. And shots are lethal. And the owners. Fantastic human beings. Making my guests of the various nights feel like family from the very first minute they said hello. Plus they serve a mean scampi flavoured lemon fry.

Super place for drinks and comedy! Wonderful evening and the headliners are superb. There was a last minute change tonight and @talldarkfriend was absolutely amazing 😍🤩💅

Had a hilarious time last night at Up the Road comedy club and cocktail bar. A very quirky decorated venue, with extremely friendly owners who are also comedians and perform as well. Ross McGrane and James Beatty were both brilliant, then an added bonus of the excellent Jordan Gray. The whole evening was full of laughs, and it is such value for money, I’ll definitely be back. Oh, and James makes a great mojito too!

An absolutely top-tier night of comedy! Ross, James, and Jordan had us laughing so hard we nearly needed medical attention. If this place isn’t already the best spot in Southend for laughs, it’s well on its way. We’ll definitely be back.

James is an interesting character, the Stone Island is a matter of taste, but as always looks sexy af 🥰 Jokes aside great bar, get down there as cocktails are amazing and comedy is second to none.

The three guys that own this are incredible. I come to the Sunday comedy nights regularly and came to the comedians quiz night last Wednesday when James hosted. It was so much fun. They honestly make you feel like family here, it's such gem to have in the town!

Visited for the first time last night, quiz was great fun host James was excellent and cocktails were spot on will definitely be coming back again!

What a lovely bar with excellent, friendly and helpful staff/owners. There was a great atmosphere and drinks to die for. The best thing was the games they have, our party of 4 played three games and that made our evening, we laughed so much. 100% recommend this bar, we've been here quite a few times now and enjoy every visit. We didn't have an food.

SUCH a lovely venue. Ross, James and John are a joy to be served by and there is a great choice of cocktails and drinks. The venue looks amazing and you’re guaranteed to have a lovely time.

We found this place after wanting just a quiet place to have a couple of drinks. My husband was almost excited to know they had a charcuterie board with cheese. We stayed longer because service was brilliant and they were very attentive, atmosphere restful (mid afternoon) and music was great. Will definitely be going again.

Yummy drinks and great atmosphere

Lovely little place, highly recommend. Enjoyed a pre-Xmas drink here, good atmosphere, people, and service. Plus, had the most delicious hot buttered rum - cannot rave enough about this!

To see Leigh Spirit Co open their second bar (and exponentially different to Leigh Drinks Co) was such a treat. A wonderful independent local business, with great atmosphere, the cocktails are brilliant, and real attention to detail on the decor. The classic juke box is a really nice touch. A must-visit for anyone in Westcliff.
