Wentworth Garden Centre in Rotherham

Had a lovely day out, only issue is paying extra for everything made the cost of the day mount up!

Beautiful garden centre and shop but a little bit expensive for us, however the restaurant was lovely.

Great garden centre but always a bit expensive for my pocket.

We had a lovely meal in the Bothy restaurant.we all enjoyed our meal the fish and chips looked amazing.Wr will have to go back for afternoon tea.

Visited today with my family for a meal and he premises and restaurant looked fantastic. Slightly expensive but the quality of food was amazing and all the ladies from the coffee station to the ladies taking orders for food absolutely brilliant and full of conversation and gave the place a real nice atmosphere. Only down fall was when our food arrived and the only tall man I saw there anyway literally just dropped our food down infromt of our faces and walked away with a sour face. I feel like I shouldn’t be giving a 1 star as the rest of the staff was absolute fantastic however this guys attitude was just horrendous and for the at reason alone I won’t be visiting again unless this individual isn’t present I’d rather walk away and that’s harsh but I refuse to pay for that service. Again must stress the rest of the staff were amazing

Went to bothy ordered drinks and main waited ages ad to ask 4 drinks ad to ask 4 a clean spoon as it was dirty dissapointed.

This is a gem of a garden centre you will struggle to find better looked after plants 🪴

Excellent place for plants and garden furniture and other materials for the garden, food is excellent and the service was excellent very friendly staff.

Such a nice break away from the city. All the food and deserts there are lush. Plenty to look around can spend a few hours there easily.

Really well kept garden centre & a lovely selection of all kinds of shrubs, trees, indoor & bedding plants. Delightful to visit with an excellent range of eating facilities too.

Always loved this place, been going since I was a child, taken my children to the park, farm pet shop and the shop for a book or toy, walk around the maze, in the bear pit, spy for deer, and now I enjoy going to buy plants and shrubs cos I'm at that age now lol

Fabulous place, restaurants are great and the delivery sells amazing pies especially the apple pie and the jam and coconut tart. They are devine

Great place for a day out and dinner. But the place is heaving ...so go early into the restaurant to get a table and food.

Called in for The Bothy fish and chips, the gift shop and the garden centre plants. All fabulous as always

Wentworth was a great day out. There's a large shop and garden centre, a small petting zoo of farm animals and formal gardens. It's free parking and you only pay for the Farm and Gardens individually, reasonably priced imo. Good toilet facilities , good access for disabled and plenty of food areas.

We have a dog, and the only way you can get to the restaurant is right at the far end, but you can only get to it from the outside (as per directions) and not through it. There are no menus available, so you then have to ask someone by walking through and asking. You border your food with one person, then get given a number and walk further along to order drinks and pay. In the meantime, food has been cooked, and your number is still on the tray waiting for drinks!!!!! Get to the table after eventually getting the drinks only to find the breakfast is now luke warm. Take it back and get another breakfast. Meanwhile, the other food has to be consumed. Otherwise, it will also go cold. It has to be said that the staff were lovely and accepted that my observation was valid, but the experience was disappointing considering the price we paid. I think this establishment has been catering for some time now that this really isn't really a good standard. This should not be taken as a reflection on the rest of the garden centre.

For 2 adults to walk around the gardens and to feed some animals cost only £12 so it was great value! The cafe was also reasonably priced.

We use the Wentworth for our pet needs,garden plants and on this occasion we visited the Bothy restaurant in the court yard area it was my first visit and it didn't disappoint ,the food was 1st rate and reasonably priced The service was really good and the decoration of the restaurant area is modern and spotless clean. We're definitely going to visit again

Good place for a walk and history if you are interested

Comprehensive centre, lots to do and has plenty of opportunities to buy food. You can play with the kids but at a price. Apart from a decent plant it has a good aquatic centre.

I have visited this place a few times but have not written a review. It is very family-friendly and a great place to simply mooch around. The food is outstanding, though a little pricey. The cakes are just perfect. My daughter and I shared a slice of Wentworth tart and egg custard today. Both were delicious. Highly recommended.

Loved wentworth garden centre until today went with my husband for breakfast untoasted bread beans not hot and musrooms cold came out so disappointed will not be going for breakfast again

Took my two year old for a trip, he spent an hour toddling around looking at the animals and playing in the covered play area. The food in the cafe was top quality, reasonably priced and although it was very busy, only a short wait to be served. Could have spent much longer there with the little one if the weather had been better as we didn't go to either of the outdoor play areas. Will definitely be returning in the summer.

If it was closer to where l live, l would be there most weeks ,for the Italian garden ,which is stunning lovely fresh fruit& vegetable's at great value.

Nice place as far as garden centres go, loads of free parking. Petting Zoo, is not that great.

Excellent, great place and food

Very clean and tidy establishment, good quality stock. The people who we encountered running this place were lovely. The pets and aquarium building was notably well kept and a credit to the staff. Thoughtful seating placed randomly for the less mobile. Our first visit, but not the last.

Good Quality plants at a reasonable price. Good range of different products

This place is lovely, so so much more than a garden centre. The historic gardens are stunning, I prefer them to many I've seen in stately homes. There's a lovely petting farm and playground for children and the cafe is lovely.

Never gets old visiting this place.

My daughter booked us a table at The Bothy on 6/4/25 for a breakfast as a late Mothers Day treat. The food, the restaurant and the staff were amazing, it felt 'up market' but had a lovely relaxed atmosphere too. I LOVE the garden centre anyway, I used to take my kids when they were younger and they loved it too, there is plenty of space for them to run around and play, plus the petting zoo, it's always so well kept and all the staff are more than happy to answer any questions.

Very busy garden centre, bit equally busy walkway areas with great facilities for families and children. Plenty of rides and slides for all ages, and some handy refreshment areas.

Lovely to walk round and got every plant you could think of. Can be a bit expensive but depends what you want. The restaurant/cafeteria is quite expensive. My daughter took me for Mother's Day and for a roast pork sandwich it was £10.95!

I would like to share my opinion, we visit Wentworth garden centre most weekends all the way from Dronfield, ourselves and 2 other couples have always enjoyed the food but mainly visit for a good bacon sandwich which is usually spot on however for the last 3 weekends the bacon has been swimming in grease /oil to the point we are wiping it off with a napkin ,it is as though it’s come straight out of the pan and onto the bread cake hence the oil saturating it, We are getting to the point of going somewhere else, we are going to give it 1 last chance this weekend, a lot of people can’t tolerate greasy food, has anything changed staff wise in the last 3 weeks I must ask?

Nowadays most garden centres are destinations for a stroll and a browse, this one is in that camp. It is fine for this purpose, plenty to see. A play park for the kids, food and treats for everyone. The typical stuff in a shop. But unfortunately, like the rest of these places, it’s pricey. It’s like going to Disney in terms of paying a premium. I get it, they’ll have huge overheads. That’s why I go here for a stroll with family and an ice cream. But when it comes to buying seasonal plants and trees I’ll always go to a plant nursery.

Doing an artic delivery rang ahead . Lovely very helpful receptionist. Unloading straightforward again very helpful staff. Tho very busy car park.

Amazing garden centre with a large variety of indoor and outdoor plants and accessories. Plenty of attractions for the kids and a good variety of places to eat.

Sunday lunch coffee, always busy, so we know to expect to wait for a table, counter service, queue time varies

Lovely garden centre. Had lunch with tea . Milk jugs very dirty with dried milk inside . Did ask to speak with someone from kitchen ,was told they were washed in dishwasher and sterilised. But they needed a good scour to remove old milk residue . Teapot black inside .Didn't drink the tea ,was put off by the filthy milk jugs . Been visiting for years but don't think we'll be having drinks again .

Wow - what an amazing garden centre and the prices weren't outrageously expensive. The restaurant staff were attentive, the displays were very attractive and the food delicious! (The Bothy restaurant) I had a lovely day out here and will go back.

One of the best garden centres I have visited Plenty to see here with a huge selection of plants and trees etc, huge indoor gift area and great food options available Very busy when we went but the staff were helpful and friendly, plenty to do for smaller children as well

It was quite expensive but no more than others and to my surprise the garden furniture was cheaper than other garden centres, well done

Such a lovely garden centre. Free parking with plenty of spaces. There’s a cute little farm there with wonderful shops and a bakery. It’s a lovely place for a day out.

Lovely afternoon spent in the walled garden, followed by a trip to the cafe.

It's lovely well stocked with plants. Food was good value. Raspberry and cherry scones are delightful. Bought some tomato sausage, taste delicious.

Excellent food and service, but very busy I main cafe. Other eateries available. Sometimes hard to find a seat when busy, which is most of the time. Plenty for children to do and excellent shops.

Large garden centre with two cafe, the walled garden cafe is large with many tables, serving hot and cold food, really nice cake selection with great coffee. The indoor section has many ceramics, garden furniture and many items for the home. It also has a handbag and clothing selection. We'll worth a visit with ample free parking.

Had afternoon tea today, plenty of delicious food, all the staff were friendly and attentive.

Went to the cafe/restaurant with my son for coffee,sandwiches and a bun. The sandwich was dry on the edges and the bun seemed a couple of days old. One of the waitresses took my plate and napkins away without asking if we had finished, so I then had to go and get fresh napkin for when I ate my bun and finished my coffee. I thought this was very ignorant, and with the price it cost me I expect to be able to eat and drink at my own pace and not feel rushed by clearing the table before we had finished.

Busy, bit was a Sunday. Nice coffees and cakes in main food hall, but would really love for the dining room clatter to be toned down with some soft furnishings. It's so noisy!

The ice skating has no ice! Disappointingly it was skating on plastic ! Other than that, fantastic!

Brunch at The Bothy, great surroundings, great food, staff always pleasant and helpful, that's why, me, my friends and family keep coming back.

We visited before Christmas & were seriously impressed with the quality & the beautiful stock , so decided to revisit after Xmas for a spot of lunch , the food we couldn't fault & the cleanliness, but the cafe staff were unfriendly & too busy talking between themselves to address me as a customer & left me standing waiting whilst they finished their chat , then once served , they turned once more to each other & continued their personal chat , I found this very ignorant & unprofessional for such an establishment as this . A revisit to the garden centre yes , but to the cafe ..no thank you .

I took my granddaughter and we had a lovely time. There are some great little shops , the restaurant has a great variety and the food is delicious. There's a small play area for the kids and an animal farm where we fed and petted a variety of animals. This area also homes a play area, which is a giant sandpit with a play pirate ship in it. The gardens are beautiful.

Fantastic trinket shop, large selection of Christmas decorations, nice cafes and pet shop, there is even a small playground for children.
