We had a great experience at the pub thanks to one of the staff members, a lovely girl called Lilly who was incredibly friendly and welcoming. From the moment we arrived, she had a warm smile and a positive attitude that made the atmosphere even more enjoyable. She was attentive without being intrusive and made sure everyone felt comfortable. It’s always nice to be served by someone who clearly enjoys their job and cares about the customers. Great service!

Couldn’t recommend We Anchor In Hope in Welling more. I popped in recently and was seriously impressed. Cjai really went the extra mile to give us amazing service. Super friendly, attentive and genuinely made our visit special. The food was really good, we loved the atmosphere and you can tell the place has loads of potential. I’ll definitely be back soon. If you’re in the area, make sure you drop by. This pub deserves all the support it can get.

Popped in for a few pints to celebrate my brother Ben passing his theory test, He suffers heavily from Autism and OCD so can often be difficult to please. Luckily one of your bar staff named Cj was very attentive and gave us amazing service! We shall be returning soon.

The food was delicious and very well priced the garden was nice and clean the service was quick and helpful. The pub is lovely for families and young children can enjoy the garden. The staff are polite and go out of their way to help. Over all I'd say a very nice pub close to nice walks and nice woods. Would recommend this pub to everyone if you're looking for a nice relaxing meal and drink after a walk in the woods.

Waited over an hour for food. People who came after us were served, had eaten and left before ours was even served. Kept being told 5 minutes but still continued to wait. . When we did get served some of it was very dry and luke warm.

Popped in for a quick drink but ended up staying much longer than planned. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. Great vibe, good drinks, and just an all-round nice place to relax. Will definitely be back!

The kitchen was very late, it took them 1 hour and 20 minutes to bring all the food and they forgot about the starters. Despite that, the food was good and there was a good family atmosphere.

Last week Saturday I came in the evening with my girlfriend for some drinks and we was surprised to see that there was karaoke going on and the atmosphere was amazing thanks to Anthony and Lily due to their service to us… Karaoke might have to see me again soon 😂

Went there on Sunday Mother’s Day with husband felt light we were a after thought a we were sat at a wobbly table stuck in a corner husband tried to fix table with a bear mat to no avail . Food is always hit and miss, some days it’s really nice, other days it’s not so nice. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Heard one of the staff say ‘don’t forget to register your parking’ so much I began second guessing if I had done mine! Nice to see that start care though. Drinks were nice and they do have a decent selection to choose from. Overall a nice experience

Staff seemed friendly enough, the food was terrible, we went for a mixed sharing platter thing, it was like an iceland buffet, very poor, the furniture needed TLC and it looked pretty dirty, tables full of salt and beer rings, probably go back for a lemon thatchers that was about the only enjoyable thing from my experience.

Food was incredibly poor, paid for it but left it, worse Sunday lunch I've ever experienced . Bar understaffed so a queue had formed at the bar ! Not brilliant for a pub that wasn't busy

The two bar staff on at lunch time on a Sunday afternoon were very good unfortunately the Sunday roast was awful cold roast potatoes disgusting no comment about the beef so disappointed considering we were sat at 1pm but like I said the two bar staff were excellent

Fantastic experience! Went in with my finance for lunch. Been left amazed by the portion size they served us. Fish and chips and the roast were sublime, and the atmosphere just perfect! We will come back!

we came here with my family on Christmas Day, it was so busy but the staff dealing with everything that was going on, handled it wonderfully. We would like to thank the team, as well as Marcin, the manager who was really accommodating and very friendly. we always appreciate those that have to work on Christmas Day, so thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!!

I was in England with my wife. We would especially like to draw attention to the fantastic service, and more specifically to the very nice manager Marcin, who, seeing that we were already very drunk and couldn't handle anything, welcomed us like a cottage and spent the night there. I came here with my partner for a Christmas meal on Tuesday. We had a really good time, the food was tasty and arrived quickly. The mulled wine was great and just the right temperature. Some places have their's way too hot. The staff are bubbly and attentive, checking with us that our order was ok. I will definitely be back again.

Came in for a Sunday lunch, it was quite busy when we arrived. Food was very tasty and a bartender was very helpful, recommended a very nice rhubarb gin!! We will be back

Absolutely awful service and would never go back here again. Staff not helpful at all and not friendly in anyway.. Had a table booked for 13 people for a family celebration meal and it took over an hour for food to arrive but came in 2 parts 20 mins apart.. was told this was because they had a small kitchen and could only cook so many at one time. Starters arrived with main meal and wrong starters., Would definitely not recommend this place,

Was told there would be a delay for food orders, but we waited over an hour. We were a party of 13 with a reservation to celebrate a Birthday. Food turned up in dribs and drabs and was lukewarm and very poor quality. Burger was cremated, tacos were dry with rank bits of salad, ciabatta sandwich was basically flavoured bread with hardly any filling, Katsu curry sauce was congealed! Need I say more.? If you have bookings, surely you should make sure you have enough members of staff to cope, especially with Christmas around the corner. A completely unpleasant experience. Have you heard of Service with a smile? Staff members seemed like they would rather be somewhere else. So did we!!

We took our 93 year mum here for her Christmas meal with the family on the 5th of December. Mum can be difficult but they were great with her. The food was great. They were happy with us singing Christmas songs and wartime songs. we definitely were not quite but the staff were amazing. Thank you guys for making ours, and more importantly Mums, Christmas family meal so special.

Very disappointed with the service we received tonight. We ordered on the app and got our food quickly, but our drinks didn't arrive until after the food, at least 20 minutes after we ordered. The server was rude about it when delivering our food and I asked about our drinks, and then didn't say a word when she brought the drinks later.

Myself and friends enjoyed our meal here this afternoon but were disappointed with choice of deserts also on a cold day could not get a hot drink. Coffee machine has been out of order for months. Staff apologised but said one is on order but has not arrived yet. One person went without a drink as she was too cold for a cold drink. The bar was also very cold. Spoilt the afternoon.

Amazing atmosphere, service and food! My boyfriend and I were visiting from America and it was a great cozy pub experience. The chef and staff were so friendly and made us feel right at home.

Popped in to my local for a pint. Then I get gbp100 parking fine through the post. Was only there for 30 mins. In future I will visit another pub. Avoid this pub at all costs. They promised to deal with the PCN but no action. Shameful.

We had dinner and the two people running the bar, Nikki and ismary, we're very helpful and pleasant. Food will never be legendary but it was nicely prepared and fairly enjoyable.

One of the worst pub's I have ever been too. Not very clean, dirty chairs, sticky tables. No atmosphere, very slow service. Had no sour cream for nachos, lasagne turned up warm, had to go back. It was tasteless and stodgy. Cheese and bacon burger was ordered with a egg, had to go back has no egg had been added. Waitress apologised, we got a complementary drink, because of the time we waited and there bring no sour cream. But the overall experience wasn't acceptable. We will definitely not be visiting there again, to say we were disappointed is an understatement.

Really nice friendly place, drinks are reasonably prices, staff so polite. It's changed so much since I was last there. The kids room have gone amd they've made it bigger, the kitchen has been move further back and the bar is bigger. I will defo be coming back again.

Update. We went here on 18th Aug 2025. Staff are lovely and the food was OK. My Son is extremely fussy when it comes to eating out, but this has become his favourite place to eat. We also went here a few weeks ago and the food was lovely. Staff brilliant. Highly recommend this restaurant. 4 years ago Waited ages for food. The pizza was under cook and very doughy. Not as good as it used to be. Staff still very friendly
