Waqars Take Away in Inverclyde

I have ordered from here for YEARS. Nearly every weekend. And always sang their praises. Well tonight I received the worst costumer service of my life. Firstly my order was wrong because it had no sauce on it which quite frankly I don’t want to eat it dry, so I simply called and asked for a replacement as it was already getting cold and I did not want just a tub sent to me. They were shouting at me, calling me a liar and saying there was sauce on the kebab and then changed their mind and said actually we put a tub in. Nope you did not. After a lot of back and forth and explaining I’m a Loyal customer, nearly every weekend. They then said ok we will send a new order to you with sauce on but it might be a while the driver is busy, that’s fine. Which I then learned that was also a lie. Nearly 2 hours later no order. I called and he shouted down the phone you weren’t to get another order we told you that. Which I said well that’s a lie you said you would send one out. I explained I have just finished a busy 12.5 hour shift in hospital, I’m pregnant and I took your word and now your telling me you lied to me. He was not empathetic, couldn’t give sh**. So whatever staff you have working tonight. Learn manners and how to deal with customers because you’ve lost one. And genuinely upset me. Thanks for that.

Decided to go here as it has been good in the past, but, new owners? Just got a chicken panoramic, it was break your teeth DOLID! Definitely reheated as the batter was as crusty as an old welly left in the sun too long, tasted a bit like it too, 1 bite and then the bin happily consumed the rest... Will not be going again. All nice and clean but food retailers know that reheating chicken is a massive no no!! If zero stars was an option, I'd chose it! Waste of money.... next time its SABAS at the west station, 100% better and donner meat is sooo tasty, I only went to waqars as I'm at my mates .... gross!!! Never ever again

Please give this place a miss weekday delivery took 2 hours Numerous calls to be told they had no delivery drivers so why take orders When food arrived driver said they were clueless and liars. food was stone cold inedible and watered down pakora sauce and garlic mayo. Avoid this place much better out there they shouldn't be trading.

Just had a meal delivered and was amazing my husband said it was the best lamb curry ever good was piping hot through delivery would recommend

The food was good and it arrived 20 minutes late but it was Saturday peak time so it was still great.

Bad days when the salad is the hottest part of the food, waste of time that place, shocking service plus the box was wetter than an otters pocket. Honkin

Food was ok other than the Kebab being drenched in spiced powder... The overwhelming taste of spices made eating a little hotter than normal... Not a fan of extra spicey! This was a first! normally really good, tasty and enjoyable.

Cold and rude driver when asked how long he had the food in his car

Ordered for 6.30 pick up, told at 5.20 it was ready. Called them and they said they would make fresh food for correct pickup. Got there at 6.15 and food was already packed and ready. Got the kebabs and pakora home and all had steam coming from the cartons. Clearly my original order was microwaved. The salad and sauce were piping hot, how can salad and sauce have steam coming off it if its fresh. Last time I use Waqars...

Meal always lovely and fresh can't fault the quality , but chips always let them down, still to perfect the chips

Phones shop twice, advised the 2nd time it had been delivered and there was no answer at the door, my door was not knocked and when I checked it was left outside the neighbours door! Food was freezing and was binned!

Delivery came late so called takeaway 15 min after delivery was due to be told they where busy and driver was on route with order but when I received food it was cold will not be ordering again

Food was burnt and the kebab sauce tasted like watered down tomato sauce

Food was cold and unappetising. curry and Korma was like coloured water. Chicken was tough and hard. Garlic bread was inedible. Very poor 1st time here and last time. Wont be ordering again.

Delivery was early... Bonus! Food was packed well, hot, tasty, me and my pal enjoyed every bit!

Both the lamb meat dishes we really tough actually couldn't eat it. It was so tough

Never got 2litre of irn bru which I paid for. Delivery driver said he would come Back with it but never did. Not the first time this has happened.

Late and no cheese on the chips

Got given wrong sauces and sauce on chicken kebab when asked for sauce separate.

Great food, great service forgot the cheese for the cheesy chips but no biggie great takeaway!

Delivered early, great quality, they didnt give me my can of juice but not overly fussed as I had juice in the house, would be 6 stars if I got my juice

Food was an hour later than expected time shown with no contact. Didn’t bother me as much as I get it can be busy, however the food that arrived was a shambles. Super dry chips and chicken burger and the cheese from the chips and cheese just clumped the chips together into one block where the chips weren’t hot anymore. The ice cream was the one thing I thought would be okay as it was Ben and Jerry’s but when ordering cookie dough they just threw in chocolate fudge instead. Not usually one to complain but I didn’t really eat anything that’s arrived which isn’t great when you’re paying £15.

Lovely food as always why don't you offer tubs of chilli sauce to buy etc

Amazing food, always reliable to order from because everyone likes the food and the quality is always great. Also you guys make the best dahl ever. It’s super hard ordering take away as a vegetarian but you have so many options for us which is so appreciated.

Use waqars quite a lot but for some reason the kebab meat was cold, the salad and sauce came separate, the pizza was undercooked and didn't really taste of anything at all. They were literally just opened i think. Use them a lot and been a repeat customer for years but that was poor tonight.

The food was warm and fresh but the chips were solid like reheats

What a joke ordered food over two hours ago and its still not here phoned the first time they said it had left the shop then I phoned a while after that and they haven’t even made my order they missed it telling me it’s left when it hasn’t

Ordered at 7.10! After three phonecalls still waiting on the food being delivered at 10.10pm. Was told it would be with me at 8.10pm. Shocking service!

Ordered a naan hoagie fir me and my other half to share thinking it would be huge 😂 we both finished it and still hungry as there was very little in the box. Sayinf that the food was amazing.

Ordered hoagie with salad n sauce. Never got salad n sauce. After ordering online I thought because it was a small order there would be no mistake. But hee ho....

Best food, quick collection time

Ordering was easy, delivery was within minutes of the estimated time, food was piping hot and delicious. Great all round.

After I phoned the waqers tandoori to see where my order was at 22.25 which is when it should've been delivered the guy told me there was a mix up with the order. I told him this was the second time it had happened and asked what the problem was because I had already paid for it with just eat. He didn't give an answer and babbled on a bit and then told me my order would be with me asap. He sent the order an hour late but he did include a couple of bits of vegetable pakora I suppose as an apology. The food is just ok and no better than you would get elsewhere. If you would like an order on time make a call to somewhere else.

Had a chicken korma, but there’s was about 4 small bits of chicken, sauce was too runny and chips looked reheated Booked food for a time I’d be free on my break from work but turned up 30 min late, not even a simple sorry when turned up late. Wouldn’t use this place again.

Food came 30 minutes late, waited just over 1 hour 30 minutes in total, juice was also ordered and was not with the order when it arrived! Quite unhappy

Ordered through just eat and give a delivery time of 530 then order was apparently cancelled, once sorted by just eat got new delivery of 630 . Still waiting at 705 . Disappointing

I never received my meal ordered around 25 to 11 and was due to come at 25 Past 11 which then got delayed until 5 to 12 and still no order,I will not be placing an order again.

Great service at a testing time

I ordered from here as I used them in the past and they were great but things have changed and not for the better. I was given a delivery time that was an hour and a half but thought ok it fathers day so they are busy so fine, but then we end up waiting an hour and a half more on top (3 hours total!). Called to see what issue was only to be told on the way, this at about 40 mins late, 20 mins later call again to be told it hadn't actually left first time we called but has now (so lied to me the first time). Then to top it all we come to the actual food which was dissappointing to say the least. The garlic nan had no taste of garlic, the kormas were bland and very watery with little chicken, the chicken chaat was tasteless and barely warm and the calzone was cold to the touch and barely lukewarm within. To add to that the meat inside was rubbery and tasted as if it had been left out to dry all day before being used in the calzone. Unless big changes were made then I would advise you to avoid this place as they don't deserve your custom and no one deserves to pay good money only to get what they are serving.

Food is always good never had to complain good service and delivery times are usually pretty spot on will be going back.

The worst meal I have ever had , ordered one donner king kebabs and one chicken king kebab with chips to share with the family but with one person being allergic to lettuce I ask to have my salad separate from the kebabs but not the sauce ! Then when my order came after paying for it they had the cheek to charge me more for the salad separate all for putting in another polystyrene box , there for most of the kebab was wasted as there was no sauce on either ! Total waste of money and would never order from the store again

Deeply disappointed at the service this evening, delivery was over two hours from time of order and more than an hour from predicted delivery. We use this restaurant on a regular basis and this is not the first time this has happened sadly there was no apology from the delivery driver either

Never again. Late delivery, then wrong order then lied to by restaurant staff who said replacement items were on their way and nothing appeared. Absolute joke of a place. Raised complaint with JustEat about this place.

Good food 10/10. But delivery was 30mins late which I though was ok compaired to previous experiences.

Dissapointed. Pre ordered for 5:30 collection, then got a text at 4:30 to say my order was ready. Had to call the shop as this was an hour too early to be told this was wrong and the order wasn't ready. Alot of confusion. Food was then cold and tasteless.

We requested a delivery for 8:30 and received at 5 but the food was really good so we will definitely order again!

Rarely leave bad reviews but the last 5 orders or more have been late/missing items/cold or of poor quality. I have ordered here for years and recommended to many but if no feedback is given nothing will change. Feel sorry for the delivery drivers

A slice of the pizza has no toppings on it and when I phone originally to add sauce on the guy didn’t ask what sauce I wanted but I told him anyway as he was just trying to get me off the phone and shocker nae garlic sauce.

ordered Kashmiri Curry (Mango), Beef and 20 before it was due to be delivered, 40mins after placing the order they called to let me know they had no more mango. agreed to have pine apple instead. delivery was late andi got a chicken curry instead of beef..

Ordered a 2ltr bottle of coke which wasnt delivered. Everything else as normal.

Specifically ordered for a set time so I could be ready for it. Came 1 hour 15 min early so was cold by the time I got to it. No answer from restaurant and just eat didn't care either. Won't be back. Disgraceful service

Food took over 3 hours but understandable in current times, could do with better estimates though so customers are not expecting food 90 mins before it arrives. Food quality was excellent and great value for money.
