Had a nice meal here while staying at the lodges. Food was great had a few mishaps with service but quickly corrected. Guinness not great as it seemed to come from another bar and was sat for some time before being brought to the table.

Service was very slow .. waited a very long time between starter and dinner .. ordered Xmas dinner .. I got the roast beef and hubby got turkey and ham .. Brussels sprouts and roast potatoes were frozen .. tasted very bland and rubbery. Beef was lovely but hubby’s turkey and ham tasted horrible .. defs wasn’t turkey or ham on the bone (think its was bought in .. very processed). Very very disappointing.

Me and my partner traveled up from London to stay at Walsh’s for my Grandad’s 80th birthday celebration, and I can’t praise this place enough! From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. Gerrald and his team went above and beyond to make our stay truly special. The event held for my Grandad’s birthday was absolutely brilliant. The staff were professional, friendly, and attentive throughout the evening, ensuring every detail was perfect. They really helped make the occasion unforgettable for everyone involved. The overall atmosphere of the hotel is warm and welcoming, and the team clearly takes pride in offering top-notch hospitality. Thank you, Walsh’s Hotel, for such a memorable experience. We’ll definitely be back, especially for the beef sizzler.

Walsh’s Hotel is uniquely warm and homely, it combines top-notch service with a welcoming atmosphere. It’s a place that leaves a lasting impression, and we can’t recommend it highly enough! The warmth and friendliness of the staff were second to none, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. A special mention to the lovely cleaner, who was incredibly kind and attentive, going above and beyond to ensure our comfort. A lovely lady, we have unfortunately forgotten her name. Gerrald’s service was truly exceptional, particularly during the event in the ballroom, where every detail was handled with care and professionalism. The rest of the team were equally incredible. The bar staff were amazing, offering friendly and efficient service, for example finding a way to ensure we cld watch the soccer game in a room full of people watching GAA. The food was outstanding – the beef sizzler is a must-try – and the breakfast was exceptional.

Walsh’s is an absolute gem, especially during the holiday season. The food is exceptional – every dish is perfectly prepared and full of flavor. What truly sets this place apart, however, is the unique atmosphere. During Christmas time, Walsh’s transforms into a cozy, festive haven that feels both magical and welcoming. Stayed here before & already planning my next visit. Fantastic value, good prices & location. Great facilities, but the people make this place awesome. Special thanks to Gerald, Mandy & Bernie, looking forward to chatting & laughing with you next time. All the staff fantastic. Can't recommend enough.

Just back from an amazing meal cooked to perfection with my son . This was the steak night menu . We both went for a main meal and a sweet . The staff were very attentive and helpful. Will definitely be back .👍☺️

Called into Walsh's yesterday evening for something to eat and I honestly never had a worse meal in my life. I ordered "Jacks Chicken and my son ordered sourdough with garlic mushrooms. It arrived out about two minutes after ordering.The champ in my dish was so sour obviously had been made a few days ago and the chicken was so tough it was inedible. My son just got a bit of damp sourdough with a load of what looked like frozen mushrooms on top. No one asked if everything was ok and when I told the young girl at the till how dissatisfied we were she just smiled and charged us the full amount. Not her fault I know but will definitely never be back. PS my son had vomiting and diarrhoea when we got home.

Excellent location friendly staff serving great food. Coffee in a hotel can sometimes be hit or miss, Walsh's was definitely a hit. Had dinner in Helena's bistro. Food was lovely and very friendly and helpful staff

Loved our stay here. Cozy and comfortable, in a historic building. Staff was warm and accommodating. Highly recommend.

Went for a meal on sunday,, and honestly the worst meal I have ever had out in my life! I’m not someone who ever complains or writes reviews but I’m just sorely disappointed after going for a family birthday meal and paying £235 for something that was awful. The “chicken wing starters with blue cheese dip” came out as chicken legs and sarrachi dip… , one person at my table ordered chicken curry and I honestly cannot explain it any better than saying the curry was like dishwater , I could see water running on the plate and the chicken lumps were sticking together like a paste. We had to actually send the dish back which I have never had to do anywhere in my life, because it honestly just looked uneatable. 1 person ordered the turkey and ham dinner and it came with veg that had turned black and the meat was awful awful dry , it couldn’t be ate either. I could go on but no one enjoyed there dinner which is sorely disappointing after having enjoyed a meal here last year before.

Stayed here for a family wedding at another venue...Bit difficult regarding parking but all the staff were top notch and very welcoming . Would highly recommend.
