Called into Walsh's yesterday evening for something to eat and I honestly never had a worse meal in my life. I ordered "Jacks Chicken and my son ordered sourdough with garlic mushrooms. It arrived out about two minutes after ordering. The champ in my dish was so sour obviously had been made a few days ago and the chicken was so tough it was inedible. My son just got a bit of damp sourdough with a load of what looked like frozen mushrooms on top. No one asked if everything was ok and when I told the young girl at the till how dissatisfied we were she just smiled and charged us the full amount. Not her fault I know but will definitely never be back. PS my son had vomiting and diarrhoea when we got home.

Excellent location friendly staff serving great food. Coffee in a hotel can sometimes be hit or miss, Walsh's was definitely a hit. Can't comment personally on the rooms as I was only there for a meeting. Here's some interesting stuff. Walsh's Hotel in Maghera, Northern Ireland has a long and storied history dating back to 1760. The hotel offers elegant and comfortable accommodation, with a cozy bar, a new bright and stylish coffee shop, and a warm and welcoming atmosphere. It is ideally located in Mid-Ulster, central to Derry City, Belfast, and the North Coast, making it an ideal base for exploring the region. The hotel encompasses Jack's Bar and Jack's Grill Bar, providing guests with a range of dining and drinking options. Walsh's Hotel has been a feature of the town of Maghera for over 250 years, and is a place where local people find love, friendship, and celebrate special occasions.

Went for a meal on sunday,, and honestly the worst meal I have ever had out in my life! I’m not someone who ever complains or writes reviews but I’m just sorely disappointed after going for a family birthday meal and paying £235 for something that was awful. The “chicken wing starters with blue cheese dip” came out as chicken legs and sarrachi dip… , one person at my table ordered chicken curry and I honestly cannot explain it any better than saying the curry was like dishwater , I could see water running on the plate and the chicken lumps were sticking together like a paste. We had to actually send the dish back which I have never had to do anywhere in my life, because it honestly just looked uneatable. 1 person ordered the turkey and ham dinner and it came with veg that had turned black and the meat was awful awful dry , it couldn’t be ate either. I could go on but no one enjoyed there dinner which is sorely disappointing after having enjoyed a meal here last year before.

Visited Saturday week ago. I'm vegetarian and only 2 options on the menu main courses neither of which I liked. I decided to go for the brie starter with chunky chips and my husband had burger and skinny fries. We put in our order and there were only 2 other tables of customers. One male staff member stood on his mobile the whole time we were in. The food came fast enough and when I cut my brie I found that it was still frozen in the middle and the chips which were far too chunky weren't cooked. Totally put me off my food,I mean neither were complicated cooking. My husbands burger was dry and tasteless but edible. I called the server over and explained and she offered me something else but I didn't take anything as there was nothing else I would eat. So my husband ate quickly and we left. When we went to pay they didn't charge for my food but that was no consolation. I certainly wouldn't be back
