Excellent service and atmosphere. So much choice on the menue, the food was gorgeou. All 13 of us were impressed. Thank you Virgilo and all the staff, highly recommended.

We always have a lovely meal here. It's one of our favourite places to go. The food is lovely and fresh and cooked perfectly. The staff are polite and friendly and always welcoming. I would recommend Virgilios to anyone.

What an absolute gorgeous find in Colwyn bay. We have been visiting Llandudno for years and only just found this gem. The service, staff, food and atmosphere were spot on and we would highly recommend visiting. We will definitely be returning there soon.

Walked in on the off chance they’d have a space, they were extremely busy but staff squeezed us in (we recommend booking!). Food was good, cannelloni was amazing, atmosphere was great, loved the music, however we did feel slightly rushed

Myself and my partner took our mum's out for a Mother's Day meal this afternoon. The staff were absolutely fantastic they were completely on top form. 👏 There was a young girl and Pedz the son who were working there on front of house. Very polite, nothing was a problem, checking to see if our food was okay. Our food was presented perfectly. We had starters and mains and there no complaints only great compliments on the food it was delicious 😋 Highly Recommend this restaurant 😊

Lovely place. 5 of us went , 2 couples and our teenage daughter. The food & service were lovely. It’s a small restaurant with a real pub next door . Perfect. We went in and were greeted by friendly, professional staff who looked after us impeccably. We will definitely return when we visit the area again. Food was tasty, plentiful and reasonably priced.

Visited on a busy Saturday night for another family celebration and yet again came away very, very happy! The food here is faultless. Every dish ordered by the 6 of us was delicious, generous and Just left us looking forward to our next visit and planning what to try next from the fabulous and varied menu. As well as the excellent food, for us what makes this a little gem of a restaurant, is the staff. Family friendly hosts who go out of their way to make you feel welcome at their restaurant and can’t do enough to make your evening enjoyable. This unpretentious restaurnat in the centre of Colwyn Bay is a real delight. The owner and his staff are very welcoming and attentive. It is Portugese ... so please don't call them Spanish or Italian! The food is definitely Mediterrainean, but with a subtle Portugese twist. We started with the Funghi Fritti and the Croquettes de Baalhau (home-made fishcakes). Both starters were perfect. For main we chose the Pollo Cacciatora and Picado de Frango (Chicken). Again,both dishes were excelent. Prices are reasonable, and we will certainly return!! (PS. I rarely rate anywhere as Excellent)

Excellent range, food and service

We called in on a Tuesday just before 6pm. We shared a rump steak skewer with Portuguese rice and mixed vegetables - absolutely delicious! I had warm crêpe filled with vanilla ice-cream, topped with whipped cream and butterscotch sauce for dessert and my brother indulged in a chocolate ice-cream sundae. I'd been a few times before, it's a favourite restaurant of mine in Colwyn Bay but it was the first visit for my brother and he loved it too.

Virgilio’s accommodated us at short notice despite having two large parties booked in. The service was timely and the food was excellent. The staff were really attentive and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Absolutely delicious food. I went with 4 friends, we all had something different and each of us thoroughly enjoyed it and would like to go again. Staff were very pleasant and professional, restaurant was very busy on the evening we went and it was a lovely atmosphere. Even though there were a lot of customers we could hold a conversation without being drowned out by other tables. It’s a long drive but I will definitely go again.

We really enjoyed our meal here. Sea bass dish was very much recommended and spinach cannelloni was also delicious. Organic Portuguese wine on the menu! Good service and the manager was around to chat to everyone on the evening too. Visited while on a short break but would definitely go back.

Me and my mum went for a meal here recently. The atmosphere when we came in was absolutely lovely. Throughout the night we were amazingly looked after by all of the staff. You can really tell this is an authentically ran family restaurant. We shared a couple of dishes as our main and everything from the seafood to the meat was incredible. I’m allergic to gluten and the gluten free options were both plentiful and tasted amazing. Had a lovely chat with one of the floor staff and despite being fully booked and busy they made the experience feel genuine and personal. Would go back in a heartbeat.

Best food in north wales, never disappoints

My wife and I visited here for her birthday. We had been looking forward to this treat and it did not disappoint. We both commented that this felt like a top restaurant in London. The service, atmosphere and food were all of the highest quality. Well done. The Blue Steak was perfect by the way, thank you so much for making my wife's birthday special.

A fairly good meal with good friends here tonight. The main course was very tasty, let down a little bit by luke warm chips and a salad that didn't look freshly prepared. The desert was made up from packet crepes with tinned cream and was disappointing considering they are not that hard to make. The background music seemed to get louder and louder as time went by, which was a little annoying 🙄 but overall it was a good night. The staff were great and very attentive, but I'm not sure that that's enough to have me racing back there anytime soon. Still rating it a 4 overall.

Recently moved to the area and what can I say!!! truly delicious and perfect in every way. Service was excellent, lovely smiley staff, Paula, Mannu (I think) and another young man who's name I didn't get. Starters of Antipasta, King prawns, king prawns and mushrooms and calamari...superb and very tasty, mixed Espetada all cooked to perfection, generous portions of rice, vegetables, Portugese potatoes and salad along with a good white house wine. Will become a firm regular with us and any visitors we have.

Went on Friday night for our anniversary and it was lovely, food amazing ,fast service and friendly staff. I have lived in Colwyn Bay 20 years and have visited regularly and never had a bad meal.

Have lived in the bay for years. never been in till last night what a shame I have never been here before. Food was fantastic staff were fantastic everyone that came really enjoyed themselves pizzas, beef skewers, peppercorn steaks all great The staff were helpful and polite Unfortunately I put a ban on mobile phones for everyone so no photos were taken Because everything that arrived was definitely photo quality On a side note The restaurant has been run by the same man in the kitchen for 33 years plus and is a family owned and run business In summary can not recommend this place enough will definitely be back for Christmas as seen that menu too lol

4.5 stars. The food was overall fairly good value for money, and the Espatada de Carne was particularly nicely seasoned and cooked. Also the desserts were a sure winner. The atmosphere of the restaurant was beautiful: they had a great playlist; very friendly staff, and beautiful interior decor with fairy lights and painted walls.

Great to find a Portuguese resteraunt with some authentic dishes. We opted for the balcahau, fish croquettes and the espetada, steak and prawn skewers washed down with an excellent Portuguese vino Verde. Made to feel very welcome, great service, just a lovely place. Highly recommended

I took my Mother and Daughter for a meal at Virgilio's this last Thursday. The food was delicious. I had the Pollo Leonardo da Vinci. The flavours of the sauce and tenderness of the chicken were perfect, as was the Portuguese rice. It was accompanied by a cheeky glass of Merlot and followed by Crepe de Caramel. The team from the chef to the servers made our experience at Vergilio's a perfect one. I will definitely be returning.

This is the first review i have wrote but i feel that i need to to make other people aware of this restaurant, I booked the table via phone for 4 adults a baby & a todler for 17:30. when booking the table the restaurant they never mentioned a time we had to be clear from the table, On arrival my eldest daughter who is nearly three was having a meltdown which if you have children you know how distressing this can be for parents, so myself & my partner decided to take her outside to calm down. Once our todler had calmed calmed down we entered the restaurant 15 minutes late.while our friends had ordered drink at the table. Initially one member of staff seemed really understanding about our situation which was nice, then when ordering food another member of staff informed us that our starters must come out with our mains as they need the table back for 19:25 , i then explained that we were not informed we had to be off the table for a certain time & the member of staff was very argumentative about it, at one point blamed our children for this happening. Once we agreed we will just have mains , I personally felt that we were being looked down on from management & staff of the restaurant. The food was bang average not anything special at all, i ordered surf & turf & their was so much salt on the meat it was hard to eat. We had the bill brought over with the card machine without asking for the bill while we were still enjoying our drinks. Very very rude staff who just want your money & want you in & out, not children friendly , i would not attend this restaurant again! Also please check your Bill as they had over charged us, we only ordered two deserts & were charged for four, we would have checked this if we were not put under pressure pay the bill quickly AVOID THIS RESTAURANT

2 adults and 2 children went for dinner this evening. Fantastic hosts as soon as we walked in the door. Had a shared antipasti starter and then a little of everything chicken, lasagne and some children’s pasta dishes. They were all fantastic and more importantly freshly made. A real treasure to have all things under one roof!

We've been regular customers to Virgilio's over the course of a number of years. We have found that they are consistently providers of excellent food, friendly service and helpful staff. We have never had anything less than an amazing experience. I cannot recommend them enough.

Recently celebrated a 50th Birthday at Virgilios. Generally Food is good, service is good also, we have always enjoyed the food with no complaints, hence why I booked a Birthday party, but on this occasion the party complained that there was far too much garlic on their meals, which they felt they couldnt eat much of it, and especially on a hot stone which burnt the garlic making it taste bitter, found the steaks were very fatty this time, and was promised the room to ourselves, but found other people were eating in, was dissappointed as we could have invited more friends and family, and due to this we were positioned right up to the main entrance of the restaurant which meant people opening and closing the door to go out for cigarettes and passing every so often. Unfortunately will not be returning for a good while...

During my recent visit to a restaurant, I found that their card machine was out of order, and I inquired about alternative payment options. I explained to them that I only had the capability to pay through my phone, which is linked to my bank account, or by bank transfer. However, the restaurant insisted on cash payment, which posed a problem for me. To resolve the issue, I suggested transferring the payment for the meal in front of them and waiting for their confirmation of receipt. However, they claimed that they didn't have a bank account. When I asked where the funds received via the card terminal were deposited, they were unable to provide a satisfactory answer. As a result of this situation, my children and I were unable to eat at the restaurant. Moreover, the restaurant staff deemed my suggestion of an online transfer as impolite and called me rude. I was disappointed by the restaurant's unwillingness to find a solution to this problem and provide good customer service. I would not recommend this restaurant based on my experience.

Initial impression was really good. Nice restaurant, good menu and friendly staff. I was served the wrong drink to start with but that wasn't a problem as the waitress did offer to correct it but I didn't mind as it was only the mixer that was wrong so I was happy to drink it. Starter was lovely. My husband's meal was really good and I was enjoying my meal at the start but I had doubts whether all of the chicken on the skewer was cooked and when I got to the piece of chicken at the end of the skewer, it definitely wasn't cooked, part of it was still raw!! As someone who has been in hospital with food poisoning I found this incredibly concerning. The waitress did offer to reheat/cook the chicken!! No formal apology or discount was offered and I left feeling very disappointed and shocked that the restaurant did not seem to care that the chicken they were serving wasn't cooked properly. In the end they did take half of the cost of my meal from the bill only after we had complained about being charged the full price for an under cooked meal which could have serious consequences.

We visited Virgilios to celebrate our frandsons 13th birthday. What a treat the welcome was so warm and genuine. The food was absolutely superb and the service top notch. Many thanks to everyone at Virgilios.
