Just purchased fish-and-chips disgusting.£8 Swimming in greece see photo inedible used to be excellent, not any more well I won't be back.

Chips are awful to expensive half cold half warm odd hot lousy even the gravy thin

Anaemic looking dry chips, tiny portion and very very expensive. First time visit, wont be back.

Sometimes when busy the quality drops a bit, and tonight's meal epitomised that. Stodgy fried rice and greasy noodles... not very tasty beef and bland Beef Cantonese with far too many onions ... really could have been Onion Cantonese.... Chips were nice & fresh as being the only positive.

Just eaten their fish and chips, or least some of the chips which were soggy. The fish was stale going on disgusting - if you have ever eaten FRESH fish, you would not go near this. How can anyone buy this appalling quality, never mind serve it up? The place was clean and the staff were efficient so my advice would be if you go in here, try the Chinese food - hopefully they do that better. This place reinforces Britain's dismal reputation for decent fish. Go to Stafford's, Burscough St in Ormskirk instead - I would have done so but they closed early today. Next time I'll do without rather than eat this muck.

Fantastic value for money. Each meal can easily feed two people, as well as being very tasty. A traditional Chinese Chippy is a Burscough institution that has been in the same family for as long as I can remember.

I always eat here and I would really like to continue but I’m afraid I have to go gluten free (maybe a treat sometimes) the family that run the chippy are so lovely and the food is the best in the area

Went back to try the Chinese meal after the great fish supper, it was as expected lovely tasty and nice size portions.

Went on Thursday evening after shopping, the food was lovely not greasy and good size portions too. Going back tonight to try some Chinese food. The staff were really nice and helpful can’t wait to go back later

Very helpfull, double cooked chips if you ask, much nicer than the normal pale offerings, lots of special meal deals, certainly better than some other chippys in the area, nothing is too much trouble.

This is the best chippy in Burscough the Fish and Chips are fantastic and hot as they are cook to order . they have a great chinese menu as well as and english menu .The staff are always cheerful and polite family run buisness that as serve Burscough for alot of years

We went here the other night as the road to our usual chippy is currently closed meaning a long diversion. I have been here before and always had lovely fish and chips but as it has been lunch time, the fish has been cooked fresh to order. Sadly the other night, the fish we got, although massive in size, were not nicely cooked. There was that horrible layer of uncooked batter between the fish itself and the (not so crispy) outside. The chips were ok for me, although under cooked for my wife's preference, and the mushy peas were very poor. Having read the other reviews, it appears we may just have been unlucky, will try the curry sauce next time

Traditionalists should stick to the traditional English style chips which are very nice but they'll be missing something.We had traditional chips and we also tried the salt and pepper chips. The traditional chips were good but the salt and pepper chips won hands down.I've eaten Chinese food around the world including many places in China but have never had stir fried chips before. I was very pleasantly surprised. The salt and pepper chips are cooked chips tossed in with stir fried onion, capsicum, salt, pepper, chilli and Chinese five spice. There are probably other spices/flavours in there as well. It's all very tasty and certainly more tasty than bog standard deep fried chips. But be beware. Some will find the chilli somewhat on the spicy/hot side and may wish to separate out the slices of chilli.The service was prompt and friendly and the establishment extremely clean.

Me and my Dad came here yesterday for the first time and we were not disappointed. The staff were friendly and pleasant and the service between taking our order and serving the food was efficient and professional. We didn't have much of a long wait to receive our food either and the Chip Balm I had was perfect, as the bread was fresh, as was the chips as they were cooked to perfection, as was the fish and chips that my Dad had and enjoyed. Inside is very clean and the seating is positioned well and overall has been designed well with a good creative style. Although we could not complain about the efficiency and professionalism of the staff service and quality of the food, the only downside was that the costs for food are a bit pricey, of which the menu could and should be better priced than it is, in our opinion. Other than that we enjoyed our first time in the restaurant and will come back again.

Called in whilst walking between Burscough Junction and Burscough Bridge Railway Stations. Superb quality Fish and Chips for £5. Big piece of fish and a large portion of quality chips.

I was asked by a friend in work if i wanted anything from the village fish bar, feeling hungry i ordered fish chips peas & curry.

Been eating here for over 15 years, never had a bad meal. Great selection of English and Chinese food and great fish and chips. One of the best in the Ormskirk / Burscough area.

Salt and pepper chips are marvelous. As are chips, rice, and curry sauce.

Great service staff friendly and helpful the best curry sauce in Lancashire highly recommend sweats sour pork is lovely too reasonable prices too they take phone orders which is handy when you can just walk in and not que up

Sólo utilizamos esta "fish and chips" porque es por la carretera de nosotros. Se ha cambiado de manos varias veces en los 11 años que he vivido en Ormskirk y para ser sincero es solo va prefiero ir caminando al centro de la ciudad e ir a chino WAN's para comida para llevar.

Very tasty and reasonably priced, worth a visit. Also do Chinese meals, I had Special Fried Rice, again worth the money and very tasty.
