Four pound for large chips under cooked disgusting burnt taste avoid like the plague if that was a large portion of chips I'd hate to see a small portion

clean and tidy - better than most chippes! Friendly staff. Excellent choices of menu / value. Fast becoming my "preferred" chippie

fish was overcooked, service and attitude of staff was terrible, absolutely nothing to like....offering customers discount to make positive trip advisor reviews.... what liberty.....dont bother with this place so much better out there.... bad

i decided to pop over and get some food, i have not been for a while since it has changed hands, previous owners were ok, but i have to say current proprietors were terrible and food even worse, had battered sausage and chips and a fish cake, the chips as reported by many were over cooked and so was the sausage, i complained was told to go away,,,, what a terrible place, no idea how to run a business and treat customers

We have been using this chip shop most Fridays for the past 2 months. Cod is always fresh and chips were slightly overdone but have improved a lot over the past 3-4 weeks.

me and the girls decided to have good old fish and chips, unfortunately the food and quality was poor, had not sausages, fish smelt and chips were under-cooked, made a complaint but was completely ignores.......AVOIDDDDD

waited in line for some time, ordered haddock and chips, staff seemed polite, fish was cooked to a crisp and chips were soggy, used to be a nice place but is under new management who dont know what they are doing, disappointing as it used to be a good place, maybe the new team need some time as it seems alien to them.... will try again in a month... hope it would get better... god luck but to them but they need help

made quite a large order, not been for a while under new management, lady was nice and polite, however the manager who was doing the frying not so, bit arrogant and rude. however the chips were nice and fresh, but the cod haddock and sausages were awful.... over fried and no taste, cod was very poor quality and smelled... i did not complain as i dont feel i would have had a good response from a business that you would expect, i think the people running it are there just to pass the time, so i clearly will not be back, dissapointed as i was looking fwd to the food

Was hoping that the new management would have improved things but believe it or not the basic bag of chips has been overcooked on both occasions now!

I’ve been ordering from here via Uber for around a month now. Food is always scrumptious, warm and delicious thank you soooo much

I ordered from here on uber eats a Chicken nugget meal which states it comes with Chips, cheese and a drink. When I received my order there was no drink and no cheese, the cheese I wasn't bothered about as I didn't want cheese anyway but the drink also wasn't in the order. At this point though, I would of been happy to go in and pick a drink up another time, anyway I started eating my food and the nuggets were fine but the chips were either overcooked or stale but they certainly were not tasty. I then phoned up the chippy and was passed onto a manager, I described the situation and she informed me that drinks are not included and that was an error but she agreed to replace the chips and drink. I then asked if there was a chance I could swap them both for a burger as I thought if the chips weren't great the first time they may not be a second time and if she had said no, I would of been fine and accepted that or offered to pay the difference but she agreed that they would do that. She took my address and said that she will send someone out when she gets chance and I said there is no rush. About 30 minutes later, the food had not arrived so I phoned back and asked to speak to the manager. I was told she was busy so the person on the phone asked what was wrong, at this point I did not know who he was. I told him what happened and he started getting all defensive saying that they have been so busy so all the chips would be fresh, he then said that they would not replace the chips and drink with a burger. I told him that this was already agreed with the manager and it should be brought up with her if that was wrong of her to do. At this point she lied to the owner and told him that she had never said that and that she had told me she would speak to the owner and get back to me which even if that was the case, she never got back to me. I told him that if his manager shouldn't be making decisions like that then he shouldn't put her in charge which at that point he told me that I should come down there and be in charge if I could do a better job. He then kept telling me that if I wanted a burger I would have to pay the difference which would of been maximum £2 which although I would of been happy to pay at the beginning, at this point it was unreasonable to expect me to pay it when I had already been told it would be replaced. He then informed me that it would cost him money to come out and replace the food which although I understand, that unfortunately is the negative of running a delivery service. After an 8 minute phone call of trying to point out that his manager was in the wrong, he finally agreed to replace it with a burger and told me that he was putting it on the grill now. He then took my address and phone number and we ended the phone call. I have given him 1 hour since the end of that phone call and I still haven't received my food, have not received a call in case they were lost or anything like that. After my experience, I am happy to come down there, not just to show the manager how to run the place but also to show the owner how to run a business because I feel this is his first time ever running a business and this is not acceptable on any level. I do not recommend using this place at all. I am not normally one to rant and rave but when you have been fed a pack of lies, that is not acceptable.

Been twice for lunch while in the area for work, last Tuesday and this Tuesday and both times place was shut. Wont bother trying again.

Don't bother turning up at 11.30 if you want lunch try more like 12 or later if you have time to wait

Went there yesterday very busy approximately 20 people waiting! Waited 15 mins for my food which was understandable. But the cod was well worth waiting for.

Great service, lush food. Thanks so much. Especially enjoyed the chips. Can't wait to go back again. My grandsons really liked the food too. Happy tummies all round.

Ordered large cod and chips had to tell the young guy 3 times, people waiting but only 1 person serving 3 sat at back chatting😡, got asked if I wanted salt and vinegar several times 🙄 had to wait a lot longer than used to only 1 person before me 🤔 ended up with small cod and large chips?? Won't used again 😒

I joined a big queue but still managed to get served quickly. Waited only 8 minutes for a big order. Great service. Fish 10 out of 10. Chips 9 out of 10. Massive improvement from last time I went there 1 month ago.

Awful. Was virtually no fish and was cooked to a crisp. Have been going to this chip shop for 20 years but will never go back.

Still has good portions but last two visits have not been the best. Chips have changed in flavour so not sure what the new owners have done?

The food is good and the chips are crummy. They are one of the few local hippies that still do chip shop curry sauce hmmm. Takes a while to get served so only 4/5

Regular chippy with good portion sizes and good prices. Open restricted hours and closes at 1.30pm over lunch.

Hemos estado visitando este lugar durante unos cuantos años y siempre ha sido buena, pero el mes pasado decidimos darnos un capricho y quedamos muy decepcionados. Las patatas fritas eran frías y no preparado. . . . Obviamente el pescado. Se cocinó y luego a la izquierda, ya que era plana y pasada. Seguramente si eres un fish and chips, entonces sólo hay dos cosas que realmente tiene que llegar? !No volveremos

The Fish was fresh and with good batter that was not excessive Chips were crisp and golden. Service good and friendly.

Llegamos aquí a tratar, el personal era desinteresado y aburrido, después de solicitar 2 peces pequeños y patatas fritas, en vez de cocinar el chef dijo usar el gran en el último estante cod. Este había sido estar tipificadas como tiempo era frío y grasientos, las patatas fritas eran asquerosas. Una experiencia muy desagradable, por el precio, me han asumido que la comida hubiera sido fresco

If you pick the wrong time to order it is probable you will be served with the lunchtime unsold fish and chips warmed up - at least that is what thy taste like! If freshly cooked much better but a little greasy

Buena relación calidad-precio local (big chippy bolsa de patatas tienen una excelente relación calidad-precio) pero todavía no sirven un pollo de mama. Las piernas y los muslos, pero por alguna extraña razón insisten en utilizar pechugas de pollo procesados en vez de las reales. . Quizás es un pollo con 100 piernas Waterlooville! ! !

I used to get food from this chippy when i lived with my parents nearly 20 years ago. It's still run by the same people (so they must be doing something right), but recently i got sausage and chips from here, and fish and chips, and the chips were greasy, the fish was greasy and the sausage was really dry and overcooked. Shame as i can walk there in 2 minutes.

Soy un gran estropeada por tener locales "fish and chips" que estaba cerrada cuando decidí entrar aquí en mi camino del trabajo. Las porciones eran pequeñas y sólo parecía una pequeña pila de patatas bastante pesado porque las patatas estaban atrapados junto con grasa. Yo tirarlos en la papelera para ser honesto. No volveré.

My local chippy that I use regularly when home. Great value and the team are always happy to chat. Still waiting for an improvement in the Chicken breast area....still have those multi leg chicken portions....

Estupenda relación calidad-precio y servicio. Apertura a veces un poco corto y parece que nunca tienen pechugas de pollo disponibles a los procesados... un consejo consejo... de que vale la pena un poco pence tener una pollo beret disponibles así chicos! Bolsa grande de patatas...

El pescado y patatas fritas aquí son una maravilla son sabrosos y siempre caliente, el resto de la comida también es genial.

We chose to get a take out of food from here, but disappointed was the understatement. We requested chicken and knew we would have to wait for it, but on placing the request the 'chef' did not even look up from his phone and just said they did not have any. It was very obvious that he could not be bothered to do this. We just chose to have some chips, but on getting home they were binned, as on opening they were dried up and hard. We definitely will not be returning there at any time in the future.

Chips very greasy and savaloy was cold and sausage looked over cooked,definitely wouldn't recommend this chip shop as its poor quality of food.

Always in and out of here for chips and cartons of curry sauce! Best value 'big bag of chips' in the area!

The ladies who serve are really nice but the big guy who cooks is always looking so miserable which is a shame as this is without doubt the best chippy in the area. Do us a favour and open at 5 not 5-15.

Best chippy in area. Good portions and good food. Only downside is queue building at 5 to 5 and they don't open til 515 - get the doors open earlier!!!

Use the Village chippy regularly as they are great value. The large chips will feed 4! Good range and good cod although can't always get a chicken breast for some reason . Great opportunity to charge 25p more for a great if thats what it takes!

I know i might be fussy but whenever Ive had a take away fish and chip meal from here my fish has always had the skin on. The chips are nice and you get generous portions for the price.

Just lately the chips are soggy and twice I have been in there and said no vinegar only for the server to put it all over the food then not even offer to change the chips, and then question the order placed if she spent more time listening and not talking she might get things right. two of my friends have had the same complaint in there, needless to say we now go elsewhere, I had a pasty that was black in the middle as it must have been reheated and reheated. No THANKS

I've used this chippy for years and they're always quick, good value and reliable. The fryer and the lady on the counter have both been there for years which is a good sign. The lady is unflappable no matter how busy they get and she's always friendly. Even if there's a big queue the wait is never long.

This local chippy is situated in a small row of shops at the Horndean end of Milton Road. I have had take away fish and chips from here many times and the fish has always been of a good quality but its cooked with the skin on. I prefer my fish without this. I dont know what oil they cook it in either as i always feel a little problem with indegestion following having eaten it. It might be my digestive system as the fish always has a nice taste and is quite meaty.You get an abundance of chips when you order a large portion and the staff are always friendly.This chippy has been running for a few years now and theres always a reasonable queue to get food on a Friday evening. There are other fish and chip shops in teh area and i tend to frequent between them all.

This is a regular chippy who are well priced and give good value. Opening hours are a bit short as they close at 13.30 which is a bit early but they are well liked and give good service!
