Best pub for bar food by miles. Staff brilliant and so accommodating. Forget your chain restaurants this is real food and a real feed.

I had mince and potatoes last visit and really enjoyed it.... I do recommend the lasagne though that's really nice..

Food is excellent and affordable, staff are friendly. I recommend the Wallace burger however you may need I lie down afterwards!

Portions were so big. Staff friendly. Sister got chicken, but it was a bit dry, steak pie was lovely.

It was recommended by a woman my wife was speaking to, we’ve been about 4/5 times and had my son’s 18th birthday meal last night, food was delicious and we had a blast, the staff are amazing and couldn’t do enough for us, balloons and birthday cake were all laid out, value for money and definitely be back,thanks guys for a wonderful evening 👍👍👍

It was recommended by a friend and it was our first visit. Me and my wife went for lunch. First impressions walking in the door was, this is an old man's pub! Asked behind the bar if they done food, yes was the answer .Wee stayed. Time warp surroundings but really glad wee sat down. 2 lentil soups 1 mince n tatties and cheese n ham toasties with excellent salad. No complaints and food was great . Staff were very nice and helpful without being in your face. We'll definitely be back . Check it out !!

Don’t have to wait long for service

Came here the 20/10/2023. Was made to feel so welcome from Anthony then his mate Mark popped in and the atmosphere was electric he made us feel so welcome I will recommend this establishment to my friends and family due to how welcome we felt thanks again to the staff of the village bar for there hospitality you's are amazing cheers lassies fae the Castlemilk Burds

Brilliant friendly staff and the food is amazing! Had my son's 21st birthday there food outdone our expectations and the staff couldn't have done more. Great size for a smaller gathering.

Been about 5 times in the last 2 weeks. Always a table for us, without booking. I've ordered something different each time and no complaints here. Food has been delicious. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

Was in for a baby shower party. Party was good. Bar staff were really nice.. the food they put on was shockly poor quality. To what they paid for it... so I never had anything off it.. plus no wheelchair access had to bring our own ramp... would I be back definitely NOT...

Been for the 1st time with my husband and grandaughter. Staff were lovely.. very pleasant and attentive . Space outside was fabulous . Food was fabulous.. busy outside and in . Would recommend this place all day long. Only thing was young weans kicking a ball aboot .. skelping off yer table and knocking drinks down on the grass where people were sitting havin a quiet drink . No need . Am all for kids in pubs a have 4 . But no need for the ball games . Staff you are doing a fantastic job . 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Nice experience friendly staff good food.

The food here is typical pub fare with a few exceptions which are 1. The food is amazing and 2. The staff are attentive and nothing is a problem for them. I would highly recommend you try this local gem and support a small business.

Had two three course meals, and a two course with one pint of lager, and two soft drinks in Angels hotel in Uddingstone. Price was over £80. Similar meals in the Village bar in Blantyre but higher quality with three pints, under £40. Village bar offers the best bar meals in Blantyre by a mile. Well done Alex,and staff. Ronnie copland.

Friendly wee boozer staff are smashing hospitality magic I cannot fault this bar Freda and the rest of the staff are great and good people, I played darts in the pub for two seasons the visiting bars always raved about the food the pub put on at half time I love the place. I will be back to annoy them soon lol.

Had a lovely lunch with friends. The steak pie was superb. I think I had a pound of stew on my plate. The mash was lovely too. My friends both enjoyed their lunch too. The chicken cojouns went down a treat. Would recommend xx

Need some fire pits outside only saw i gas heater wich wasn't on its ok in the sun but today you need a wee fire food was good but you should have more people at the bar today other than that good wee pub.

2 steak pies and a pint and a coke £17. Cannae beat it. Was out of this world.cheers chef x

Well I am hopelessly biased since I was brought up nearby. The Village is a locals bar. To the left, there is the proper bar and a pool table. You want to be a local to be here. Wearing something green would go down good. To the right is the lounge. Bit more relaxed here. There's 2 TV's and a variety of tables to sit in and enjoy. They do serve food and in the past it was good, but I haven't tried it for a few years (I don't live nearby anymore). Basically a solid lounge bar, very well liked in the neighborhood.
