As a regular visitor of Vigour ,I decided to try the revamp , Food was okay , service was poor , would have to consider if I would come back , disappointed. Ps what's with the black tables

Visited with my girlfriend for our date night last Saturday. All I have to say is FANTASTIC. Jack, our server, was more than attentive and the food was spot on. We thoroughly enjoyed it and are already thinking of going back. My special food mention is definitely the Shredded Pork Bao Buns…absolutely heavenly. 10/10 wholeheartedly recommend! Thanks for a great night. Top service.

Been here a few times and keeps getting better. Best spot in St Helens without a doubt. Took family tonight who loved it and will no doubt return.

I recently have had the chance to dine with 36 Bridge st. And i have to say it was unforgettable experience. Everything about the restaurant is amazing, the vibes and the atmosphere was so warm and welcoming as soon as you walk in, the music was perfect just the right amount of sweetness in the background. me and my friend were singing along while having an absolutely delicious roast dinner clearly the chefs at 36 Bridge st are incredible and love what they do. Our occasion was for my late parents anniversary that used to go to 36 Bridge st all the time for dates and the staff went above and beyond to make our experience special in so many ways. Highly recommended!

Came for a date night since hearing about the rebranding, not the first time here and definitely not the last. Love it every time, great food, great atmosphere, great staff.

Amazing food, good value for money. Freshly cooked. I love the mixed greens. I'm Vegetarian, and there is always a good choice. We also had desserts which were gorgeous. Consistently good food & service

After being recommended vigour by an friend, I popped in for lunch. On arrival, I was greeted by a friendly staff member who made me feel welcome. Going through the extensive menu full of delicious delights and delicacies, I opted for shredded pork tortillas and pork bao bao for starters, and steak (medium rare) and eggs (soft poached.) For mains with a refreshing cola with ice, and a creamy coffee for after. The atmosphere in there is really quite nice. The rustic vibe, of exposed bricks, rot iron fixtures and neon signs gave it plenty of character. While the ability to see into the kitchen gave you a good sense of connection to where the action truly takes place. Their shredded pork tortillas came as a trio with a lovely dip. Being a starter, they were small but flavorful. The bao bao which i can only describe as tortillas but in a softer and thicker wrap with a slightly sweet note to them were lovely, and made for a pleasant new experience. They were quite accommodating when I asked for peppercorn sauce for my steak, and managed to do a flat ironed steak to perfect medium rare. With creamy yolk gently glazing it, every mouthful was a joy. I will also note their coffee was particularly creamy and frothy which I really liked. Now, the one potential down side for some is the prices. While the food I had was lovely, and I don't at all regret going. I will say it's not somewhere you go to eat on a tight budget. You pay for the atmosphere, and the food quality is above many typical cookie cutter restaurants. My meal came to just over £34 drinks included, and while I can't make it a regular, I surely will be making it a spot my son and I go to treat ourselves. I will say that if I had my son with me at the time, I could have split the starters and just added chips to the mains to feed both of us quite happily for not much more. Should you be in a position to go regularly, take advantage of their loyalty scheme and get some tasty perks.

Absolutely by far the best roast dinner ever! Our server Charlotte was wonderful - so friendly and approachable. Highly recommend for food, service and ambience.

Waited a while to try this place and it was definitely worth the wait. The chicken teriyaki noodles with vegetables was so tasty and the buttermilk chicken wrap was packed full of loveliness. H had a made to order breakfast which was perfect. Lastly the Hurricane cocktail of the week hit the spot. We will be back, in the meantime consider opening in Monton 😍😍

This place is absolutely incredible been coming for years and it just gets better and better (if that’s even possible) best steak Iv ever tasted service is fab the atmosphere is great honestly don’t know how this place hasn’t got a Michelin star! Unreal!!

This restaurant represents what is wrong with St Helens, it's okay, it's not amazing, the food is okay, the service is okay, it's a pleasant place to eat. We went as a foursome, it screams fast food when you walk in. The process for ordering is interesting and gives you food for thought. One protein, two sides and a sauce. Nothing over complicated and some main meals to boot. The service is attentive and pleasant and the speed is average. The food when it arrives is okay, it will never set the food world alight and it will never get a decent award, it's okay. The fact tit is rated very highly in St Helens says more about the state of food in St Helens than the quality of what it puts out. I would rate it as a pleasant interlude to an evening more than a good meal. It also cost far more than it should have done. Won't be going back but thanks to the staff who were very pleasant.

Attended the amazing vigour again tonight. Such fresh food as always, tonights my husband had the special 16oz steak he said it was one of the best steaks/meals he has had in a very long time...compliments to the chef. What makes vigour stand out is not only the fresh food but the service Everytime we have been the staff are so professional. The whole team is a credit to the owners.

We always visit Vigour when in town. The food is always fabulous and the team are great! I've worked my through a lot of the menu now but can't bring myself to not order the mac & cheese 😋. Love that they have Lilt!

Group of 4 went for a meal today and the whole experience was amazing! The place was so clean! Staff were so friendly, food was top drawer-fresh and so tasty. They couldn’t do enough for us. They only thing we could ask for is a bed to lie down as we were so stuffed! 🤣🤣 thank you so much and we will be back again and again 5 star highly recommend xx

Not sure how I’ve lived in St Helens for so long and only realised how much of a gem this place is. First of all - just to have an independent, local place that serves good food is such a win. I came on Tuesday with my boyfriend and enjoyed it so much I came back tonight with my parents. All who enjoyed it and all who will be coming back. The staff are 10/10 for their service, so polite and welcoming (it’s a shame you can’t add a tip on card and need cash - will try and remember to bring cash because they deserve it) The food is great, fairly priced and very good portions. Travelled 4 hours to Vigour based on trip advisor reviews. It was in the area we were staying the night. Staff friendly , food REALLY good, ticked a lots of boxes for variation of food available. One Pescatarian. Meal was great. Maybe a little oily but still delicious and cooked well. Thank you

Heard great things about this place before visiting, it definitely didn’t disappoint. The food was amazing, I had a full English breakfast that was very reasonably priced for how good it tasted, fresh ingredients and plenty of them. Also the place had a really nice atmosphere, the decor was fantastic and the staff were very friendly. I will definitely be back and would highly recommend this restaurant to friends and family 10/10

Friendly staff, food assembled in-front of you (on counter), good value for money! The staff were lovely and the atmosphere was great - We got the beef Sunday roast dinner which was “the best roast ive had out in a while” with cauliflower cheese which was actually cheesy!! The steak and eggs were delicious, thick cut of steak which was cooked as you’d like it (medium rare was perfect) and eggs were just right - could have done with some greenery (eg spinach and broccoli) but thats only because i like my vegetables, nothing that pinching a few from the roast couldn’t fix! Build your own went down a treat too! No complaints, would 100% recommend x

Our first visit to Vigour, the service was great, Charlotte was very welcoming & helpful , good quality food which tasted delicious, and the ambience very relaxed. We were surprised to be given a 10% discount for Valentine's Day when most establishments increase their prices for this occasion! We will definitely return and also recommend Vigour to family & friends.

Great Sunday lunch ! Looking for somewhere new to take the family of 5 for lunch I read a couple of reviews from local newspapers and had to try it out ! Staff where lovely, attentive taking drinks orders, took around 30mins for meal to arrive which during the meal staff asked if everything was ok 👍 so big tick for staff! Sunday lunch we booked as were informed it does sell out we all had the beef, I’m always wary of beef but this was delicious! It was cut thinly, melted in the mouth, cabbage was so tasty loved the glazed carrots and greens ! 3 empty plates ! They were able to accommodate my child’s request for sausage mash n beans he ate this all himself.. another hit ! Hubby had a burger and said it was great! Not familiar with the area but easy to park outside on double yellows for free on a Sunday. Works out around £15 per head. We were out as a group of four on a Monday and was looking for a place that would cater to all our needs. We found Vigour after a quick look online and decided to give it a go. The restauraunt itself is really well laid out, gorgeous wooden benches, well lit and roomy. We were seated and our server went through the menu with us. I asked what vegan options there were and he very helpfully went through them all and explained how certain dishes could be adapted. We each went for a different dish, salmon for one, chicken (with a choice of grilled or crispy), steak and cauliflower bites for me. Everything came out at the same time and was cooked to perfection. My partner asked for his steak medium/rare, which in our experience hasn't gone well, but it was seared, sliced and salted exactly as he wanted. Our server was helpful and attentive throughout, but not overbearing, and all the staff seemed friendly and happy to help. The kitchen, seating and toilets were all sparkling clean and the place itself has a really good vibe. Will definitley be going back. We had four mains, three alcoholic drinks and a coffee which came to around £60 which was a more than reasonable price for the amount of food we got.

Came here as a family of five. Whilst it looks basic from the outside is has a lovely friendly atmosphere and service great. Food is excellent value and had a great evening here. Burgers were the tastiest we’ve had in ages. Whilst the wine list is limited don’t let it put you off-we had a delicious Pinot Grigio. Recommended!

Ate here recently and once again top class food and service and all at a reasonable price.Went for the smallplates deal which gives you the oppurtunity to try different foods you may not have tried before and was not dissapointed. The short rib of beef was the best of the bunch but portion was a bit to small for the two of us to share so will have to get two portions next time. And yes there will be a next time no problem.

We cannot believe that we’ve never been here before. I must admit I was a little dubious about the thought of me eating healthy food, but I needn’t have been - tasty, wholesome food. Really good portions and the service and atmosphere was exceptional. We cannot wait to return.

Been here a few times and the food is always great we had small plates, a set meal and dessert. Everything was hot fresh and came out in a nice time. Really great combinations can really tell each dish has been thought out and tested for maximum flavour. The owner was really friendly couldn’t do enough for everyone. He made everyone feel very welcome and created a nice atmosphere. The small plates in particular live up to a high standard you would find in a Liverpool city centre restaurant.There’s a nice range between vegetarian and meat options and a lot of good choices. Was such a nice experience and will definitely be going back. Would recommend to anyone seeking a high standard.Thanks Lelepie

Had the pleasure of coming here tonight for our tea and we weren’t anything short of amazed at the customer service! The young brummy lad (didn’t catch his name) catered to all of our needs with a smile on his face and the team were all so accommodating! Can’t wait to return here again soon.

Went for the first time yesterday for lunch. Loved it. Food was delicious. Hard to choose what to have. Waiter was great. Explained everything to us & was so friendly. Fab place. Will definitely be returning.

Started so well but died a death, ordered drinks, starter and main. Starter come and was excellent (halloumi bites). No drinks till I asked could we have them! The mains came after the chef had touched the meat and licked his fingers and the waitress had tried a few chips. If she had tried the chicken she would of realised it was like MDF. If she had tried the gravy she would of known it was stone cold. The prices were very reasonable but would not recommend.

We went here as a result of seeing good reviews and were not disappointed! The food was so good, healthy portions and friendly service. We just wish it was local for us as we would be regulars!!

This little restaurant is an absolute gem. If you’re ever in St Helens, i can’t recommend it enough! We had the 5 small plates for £30 deal and that was amazing! (Enough to share for two people as well!). We had cauliflower bites, lamb shoulder, pork belly, shin of beef and seared tuna.All dishes were amazing, so great that we stayed for a chocolate mousse and a mango cheesecake. The food was detailed, tasty, well seasoned, intricate, beautifully displayed and the staff were lovely. It was great to see the chefs working in the open kitchen. The hustle and bustle of this little restaurant made the place lively. The decor is great as well! Tom (I think!) was a brilliant waiter, he was really kind, chatty and really couldn’t do enough for us! It was our anniversary and staff were super kind, I can’t wait to return!

First time I’ve been to this place and it didn’t disappoint. Was looking for some sort of noodles and chicken and this place delivered wait wasn’t long at all and the service was 10/10, easily explained menu and a warm friendly vibe from the front of house. Portion size was spot on as well, like Beyoncé on a plate fantastic stuff.

Went here mid week for the first time and we were certainly not dissapointed. The server fully explained the menu options to us and we opted for the small plates menu. The restaurant was very busy and we were told up front there could be a bit of a wait for food, we were then given a small dish of Halloumi bites to tide us over.Dishes arrived the seared flat iron steak whilst very tasty was a little to rare for our tastes but still cleared the plate, the VFC Chicken was very very tasty with a very spicy side, then tried salt baked beetroot and marinated tuna, both dishes were excellent with very tasty sides and presentation was perfect.If you have a large appetite you will probably need more dishes but this was just right portions for us.Will dine here again no problem , might even try the brunch or a burger next time.The only dissapointment was that we have not dined here earlier.Top Marks for a great experience , food and service all at a reasonable price.

We had a great evening at Vigour. The atmosphere was relaxed the service was fantastic. There was 4 of us and a baby and the staff could not do more to make us comfortable and relaxed. The food was fantastic and the drinks were non stop flowing and could not recommend enough, Will definitely be coming back! Thank you!!

Found by chance. Good choice of menu. Lovely staff. Ordered the salmon & chilli prawns both cooked to perfection & beautifully presented. Sides & sauces been spoilt for choice. Finished with a hot chocolate fondant with vanilla ice cream worthy of been served in any fine dining restaurant & very reasonably priced. Just visiting the area bit would definitely come back.!

Visited with my son and had a lovely time. The food was beautifully cooked and portions were excellent. Taste is everything and this place really delivers. Wouldn't hesitate to reccomend it.

We have visited here a few times and the food has always been 11/10 AMAZING! I’ve ordered a range of different foods and it always comes quick hot and is sooooo good! The staff are as good as the food, nothing is too much to ask for and it’s always service with a smile! This is our go to place for food and will keep going back.Great place too if you’re watching calories as there are lots of different options but also the place to go for your hangover cure! 5*

Dining at Vigour is an experience I would recommend with great confidence. Each time I have visited I have experienced an ambiance that is welcoming and inviting, amazing menu options , food and service. Staff are extremely knowledgeable, super friendly and make great recommendations which shows a thorough understanding of their menu and a genuine interest in helping provide customers with great service. It often feels difficult to find ‘healthy’ food options without taste being compromised but Vigour kitchen provides an excellent solution to this problem.

Ambience - 10/10 Food - 10/10 Service - 10/10 Value for money - 10/10 A highly recommended hidden gem. Would have happily paid double.

Started visiting Vigour after lockdown restrictions were lifted last year and looking for a place to eat. Always thought it was a meal prep company. Since then between us we have been pretty much once a week either eating in or ordering to go and gutted we hadn’t tried it before. Food is amazing and healthy (if you want) great for breakfast too would highly recommend the breakfast wrap. Staff are so friendly and really make you feel welcome. A must try.

Wow, what can I say, first time here today with my daughter for lunch, 5 small plates, unlimited beer , wine or prosseco £35 for the two x food excellent , hot and tasty. Staff couldn't do enough for you. Definatley will be returning.

Absolutely amazing!! The food here is fresh hot and divine!! We had the 5 small plates and bottomless drinks option. Never without a drink and service with a smile and not a fake one at that!! I have never reviewed this place before but the quality has been consistent! We will return - a fourth time!!

Though the week we had a takeaway from vigour I just had the chicken burger and sweet potato chips and my boyfriend the beef burger and chips so glad Mc Donalds had a big queue ,it was the best burgers we have had it was a lot healthy and a proper meal well done vigour team another excellent meal,can't wait until you are open to sit in x

Wow well done vigour team just had the take out best Sunday lunch it was the best I had it was outstanding ,every thing was hot and delicious and the side order was also delicious but it was too much food, but worth every penny.

Where do I start!? First of all the girls customer service skills behind the counter was terrible, she was snotty and rude. When we placed the order we was told it would be ready for collection within 15-20 minutes and was kept stood waiting for an extra 25 mins ontop of this with no apology! As we was leaving she forgot to put in the pepercorn side sauce to so had to shout us back, then when we actually got home and seen the small sized portion which was £11.45 (picture is attached) it was 3 very small thin pieces of steak I was gobsmacked! This was also very cold and we only drove a few minutes up the road. Overall I spent £37.00 and that was with 20% discount for collection and what a complete waste of money that was I will not be returning and I certainly do not reccomend it!

I had the pleasure of enjoying the amazing food, service and atmosphere. During this difficult time we were uncertain whether to go out and enjoy ourselves, or stay home, but chose to come to Vigour and enjoy the Prosecco deal (5 small plates and unlimited Prosecco for 1.5 hours). Honestly, this was one of the best experiences I’ve had for a while. The food was outstanding! Antonia- thank you for making this a night to remember. In today’s society, it can be daunting and unnerving but this was not the case at Vigour. There was no pressure or awkwardness to eat and leave. Thank you ☺️

So so so glad Vigour are back. The best eatery in St Helens (and beyond) and we almost lost it. Great to see this place back...food is always five star, service too...you pay slightly more in St Helens dollars (but less than the big cities) but you get a lot more back. Love it

Ordered from here this evening and the food was delicious!Had issues with delivery which was out of the restaurants control. They resolved this by offering to make it fresh for us and we picked it up. They even threw in a couple of cookies. Really helpful member of staff, didn't catch his name!Will definitely go again... but maybe order directly through Vigour next time!

Had an issue with the delivery (not the restaurants fault) so went and picked it up myself. Not only did they remake the food fresh but they added some extras in as well. They also waived the charge. Incredible service. Really nice friendly staff who have gone out of there way which they didn't need to do. The food was incredible as well. Fresh healthy and tasty. Those holloumi bites are amazing. Had a great experiance at Vigour recently. Lunch for 2. The menu has a good and well priced selection. I had a Crispy salt & pepper chicken wrap with curry mayo & lettuce my girlfriend had Cajun Steak stir fry wrap with peppers. The food was very tasty and a healthy choice. I would definetly recomend to anyone in the area. Top class food.

we waited an extremely long time for some very lack lustre food. they got all our orders wrong, sending sweet potato fries instead of regular. they also sent two entirely wrong and different meals. also, they got all of our drinks wrong. all in all, a very disappointing and frustrating experience, leaving us all very unimpressed and upset. do not recommend

I’ve ate here 6 times out the last 8 days, it’a unreal! So much variety and the vegan and veggie options are amazing. Curried cauliflower potato cakes in the healthy boxes is delicious with green veg, light fried rice and the katsu sauce. Teriyaki chicken and salt and pepper crispy chicken wrap is so nice. Salt and pepper calamari and halloumi bites are an amazing add on. The staff are superb. I originally ordered on just eat and since realised I am best to call and order and pay by card or cash because the restaurant fully benefits from that. I’d rather cut out the middle man. Support local businesses and enjoy its really worth it!

I ordered the chargrilled s+p chicken, pesto pasta and asian tenderstems. the chicken was basically some breaded chicken goujons with no s+p seasoning on it, the asian tenderstems I presumed would have chilli on them they didnt so not sure whey they just wouldnt just call them tenderstems and the pasta was nice. it was all cooked beautifully, the portion size was perfect and it was presented really well. I only ordered the one meal as the rest of my family wanted a Mcdonalds so im surprised they got it 2/3 wrong.

What a gem ! Whenever I have meetings nearby, I make sure I pay this place a visit ! Healthy food, well prepared, very tasty, I could rate it 6 stars ! I would love to have a sister restaurant nearby.

Just had a take away from vigour kitchen can't believe how good it was just as good as eating in the restaurant.all the menu was on offer and will 100% will be having a take away again we had salt and pepper chicken and sweet potato chips and lamb ball and noodles 5☆

We decided to order a take away lunch from vigour on Saturday as they had reopened this weekend. We were not disappointed! We rang in our order at about 1.40pm not realising they opened at 2pm, and the guy on the phone was really friendly - he took our order and said we can choose our pick up time (as we wanted to collect) and we chose asap, and so collected at 2.10pm! My partner and I both ordered a crispy salt and pepper chicken wrap, which comes with fries. We also had halloumi bites, and a can of Diet Coke each. We were asked if we wanted normal fries or sweet potato fries and we both sweet potato fries. Them even accommodated our requests with the order too when I requested normal mayo not curry mayo with one of the wraps. Lots of choice on the menu and great portion sizes! We turned up, order was there ready. The owner jumped to help us with a speedy service. Paid by Contactless payment and on our way. Food was great with a wide selection on their menu (available to view online) service was fab & very safe given the covid19 pandemic and the fact they’d only opened their take away service that weekend! Healthier alternative and supporting local! Please call vigour direct (number advertised on their website and social media) to place your order, as this would support this amazing local business more, as it would avoid the percentage that the take away service provider (ie: just eat/deliveroo etc) would take. Keep up the good work guys! We’ll defo be placing another order soon!
