Had a party there and the buffet they laid on was beautiful and fresh. The gardens are huge and there was plenty of space. The staff are so Friendly. Highly recommended plus it's dog friendly too

Massive garden at rear, perfect for families with young children.

Had a 60th here and the buffet was beautiful fresh and lots of choice. The garden is huge with plenty of space for all the kids to play football without getting in the way of the oldies celebrations. The staff are really friendly and service is very good. I highly recommend the Victoria for parties or just a relaxing drink in the garden xx thank you so much for making my partners 60th really memorable x

Very quiet no sign of the landlord all evening

Can't fault this little beauty of a pub in the slightest. You walk into this building and immediately your transformed back in time. The walls boast the most beautiful old tiles I've ever seen. Off the main bar there a sevrals rooms all can be used freely and can offer privacy if your not in the mood to socialise to much.. The pub also has real fires for the winter months to get you nice and dry and your usually walk in the rain, They offer a range of drinks and bars snacks all at a very reasonable price. Exit the rear and you'll find yourself out in the huge outdoor covered smoking area and behind that probably the biggest beer garden you'll see for miles around. Dogs are allowed and must be kept on leads at all times. Would be ideal to book for large get togethers. If you've never been I really recommend you pop in for one.. Or three.

So good to revisit a pub from my youth, had my 21st here 48 years ago when I lived just up the road from the pub. Nice to see the etched glass window in the entrance door with the pub's local name "Butcher Brig". Great news that it is in the top 10 pub interiors and relisted as grade 2. Actually worked here for a short while in '07 and thankfully it now has a proper landlady. Alas the bowling green is now just a beer garden but a very pleasant one with an outdoor bar 🍻👍🏻. Some nice local footpaths to walk off that extra pint and yes the beer is that good.

A real surprise of a place. And in such a location, a real survivor with intact original features remaining. Multi-room layout with central bar. Plenty of choice on the cask ales front. Pleasant and helpful staff are on hand. A real gem. Recommended.

What a great old pub to enjoy an excellent pint in lovely surroundings. The staff are really welcoming, the pub is dog friendly they have a nice big bear garden . We had a great pint of stout, staff made a fuss of our dog but best of all the beer was excellent ,kept well and taste fantastic

I love how cosy I feel in this pub. There are always plenty of real ales at very reasonable prices. Having spent a lot of time in many different public houses, this being due to growing up in them (and therefore also working in them) I would like to say, that, this is my favourite ever pub and I love the people it attracts. Plus there is also loyalty cards for pints too!

One of the finest pubs in Lancashire hidden at the end of a secret labyrinth of backstreets. Big stock of real ale, always well kept. Beautiful authentic decor with parlours, original tiles, wood and glass work. Enormous beer garden was once a bowling green. And very welcoming - great staff and customers.
