Viceroy in Tameside

First visit for many years and we had a positive experience. Managed to park for free. Service was good and staff polite. Good range on menu. Food was lovely. Lamb saag wala was lovely. Chutney tray a bit stingy but could have asked for more pickles. I would return. There was a slight issue with the odd fruit fly buzzing about, not sure why but we coped.

The food was served relatively quickly, and in large portions, we were provided cartons to take it home as they couldn't be completed! The interior decor was excellent with its shades of purple & white. This is one of many times have been to this restaurant, they cater for large groups, families and couples for all occasions. This is definitely worth going to if ever around the area. All staff were great, and there's a fully licenced large bar.

Got a delivery on New Year’s Day,it was inedible,ordered a king Prawn Pathia,just heat like some one had thrown hot curry powder on a mound of green and red peppers,I can honestly say it’s one of the worse curry’s I’ve ever had I just binned it….

Had a chicken starter and a chicken main coz I love chicken. Was overall very nice indeed and the staff were sound.

Love this restaurant, called in here on Thursday Night and like always greeted right away and shown to our table by a very polite man, superb staff all round lovely decor and background music, The food again was superb, great menu choice to suit every pallet,me and the wife loved our food, and a great price, you must give it a try, Thankyou Viceroy.

First time I’ve ordered from here will be the last.... what ever stringy arwful street animals your using ended up in my meal tonight, wasn't chicken...my plate was full of water.... sauce looked like a matted pubic wig.... and the onions to my popperdoms looked like they had been sat since last week.... straight in the bin!!!!avoid this place!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well after many phone calls to try and get into a restaurant, this local place fitted two of us in. we were seated quickly and they were very busy for a bank holiday monday, it took a bit of a while to have poppadums and have food ordered but once itw as ordered it didnt take as long as expected. had a lovely stuffed pepper with potato and mincemeat followed by a balti exoctica curry with naan, chips and shared rice a lovely meal and come with a discount although seemed slow for to want us to pay even though had asked for bill, would come here again

Food was excellent, mix grill and the lamb railway was very tasty, good service. Beutiful deco. 5star. Thank you.

Overall food was amazing! We had to ask twice for the bill before we received it (roughly had to wait 30 minutes) and wasn’t asked if we wanted any more drinks, we had to call someone over to get more drinks, As an extra note they could really do with some air conditioning as it was very warm in there from all the cooking.

Had a starter = salty had main lamb tikka and mushroom rice = very salty only had 2 mouthfuls and left it

Absolutely bland curry. I’d heard mixed reviews and also on M.E.N that they had a rat problem but gave them a chance. Never again

Just a big thank you to Raj for making our Erin’s birthday the best! Raj is a credit to the restaurant, such a warm welcome and couldn’t do enough for us, the food was bloody gorgeous as always!! Can’t wait to come back again soon!!

Have been a regular to this place over the past few years yet suspect its under new ownership. The portions have become smaller and the curry has become tastless or bang average bland at best. The starter was less than half the size its been in the past. Please be aware, people are being bribed with free drinks to give good ratings.

Been here several times food all ways good but they are not the same on tribute nights they are very bland and watery so this let's it down a little so all I can say is tribute nights keep clear 👍

Went for my mums 60th, the staff were so nice and eager to help. Food was lovely and entertaining superb. It's a must try for one of the theam nights

nice clean well presented place was very quite ony 6/8 tables i would say food was ok to be fair not very spicy or flavoursom for an indian restaraunt, food also was just hot enough temp wise as tho been sat waiitng to come outthe chicken tikka mains was good on the sizlers they was hotthe lambtikka starter was nice again only just hot enoughi did try one of the groups lamb madrass wasnt hot at all lamb melted in your mouth but no kick was busy on take outs but not insideoverall food was average staff were friendly only main issue was the fruit flys trying to land in your sauces for the poppudoms etc but there hard to keep away i suppose

Went with 2 friends,although have been many times before but this was the first time we had the banquet. Oh boy, what a feast. Delicious as always and cheap too. Have also seen Michael Jackson Raw Tribute which was superb. Next trip will be to see Elvis in October.These waiters etc really work hard to give you a good time.THUMBS UP ALL ROUND AND CARRY ON.

Eat here quite regularly when on business. Garlic chicken tikka masala to die for lol and at very reasonable prices.

OUTSTANDING FOOD, OUTSTANDING SHOW. Not to be missed when he next appears. Went with my son and fiance who were also in awe. The food just kept coming and ALL was delicious. The staff were friendly, the toilets very clean, which is important when there is a packed house. Have been before on a Sunday lunchtime, and the food is still good.

We had a large group for dinner. The friendly staff looked after us really well. They did a starter and main for a set group price. We had a great time. Beer was good. Good choice menu. Hot means hot but medium was good for me. Great flavor. I’ll definitely be back.

Ordered a home delivery, arrived at the advised time, food was exceptional tonight. We always order from The Viceroy we have never had a bad meal may be a little more expensive but more than worth it. Thankyou all at the Viceroy

We came here for my mum's birthday on a Sunday evening. It was fairly quiet so there was no problem seating the 16 of us. We had the set meal and I have to say the food was delicious, you got poppadoms and chutney, mixed starters and main meals with rice and naan bread. The drinks were quite expensive and a few of us were short changed at the bar more than once to the point where we had to be alert. The decor needed doing up but overall a good experience and I would have given another star if it wasn't for the bar staff repeatedly shortchanging us. They must think people can't count.

Went here for our works xmas do; 80,s night theme with a set meal. First big, big negative was they crammed 8 people onto a table clearly designed for a maximum of 6. It was a complete farce trying to squeeze into such a tiny space, the two outer guests were pretty much stuck out into the dance floor with zero room to eat.. totally unacceptable The food was average at best but completely confused, we had no idea what was what as it was piled onto the tiny table. Was like feeding the cattle in a very tight pen.

Sat down and waited 15 minutes for our drinks order to be taken, quite a long time considering the restaurant didn't have many people in or needed some kind of attention. Bottle put down on the table with the lid still on it so had to open and pour my own bottle of wine.

Left a good review when I first moved to the area and I have been coming here ever since, food is average but what you expect around Hyde.

Recently moved to the area and thought we would try this place as it is very local. Had a really nice meal, staff were very polite. The only thing letting it down is the slow service, it took a while to receive our courses and the restaurant wasn't busy. There were people coming in after us who received their food way before us. Over all it was a nice place with nice food. Would go again!

Went there twice whilst staying at the Village Hotel

I have eaten in and had takeaways from here many times. The menu is delicious and the chef is accommodating. I like creamy usually milder curry but he gives me extra chillies to my taste upon request. Always served hot, tasty and value for money. Would recommend this clean, friendly restaurant.

My partner and I have been 6 or 7 times now, and we are never let down by Viceroy. Delicious food and attentive, lovely staff. Great value for money. We’ll be back again soon!

Went there with family and friends, the restaurant wasn’t very busy, yet, at times service was slow. The food was average. Portion sizes were ok. Just a standard curry house.

We recently booked here for Good Friday evening for a family get together to celebrate an 18th birthday. We were all in a great mood, but it seems like the staff were not!

Went for a meal with friends on easter Saturday and all i can say is there service was first class and the food delicious. Definitely be going again.

Always got an offer on for cheap food. Foods not impressive just same as any other place. Just bog standard curry house. car park can get full if there's more than 10 people in

We used this Indian restaurant on a Groupon deal which made our meal very reasonably priced. We went midweek early doors and it was still quite busy which is always good. The interior is roomy and nicely decorated.

Went for a meal with my wife, service was good and the food was good, you had enough room to chat with each other with no one listening in, price was reasonable ( was expensive ) but all in all a good night out, would go again.

What a fantastic place to go for food. The decor is clean and modern with a small bar for waiting. The drinks are reasonably priced for a restaurant. The food is outstanding and probably the best in Hyde. The choice is good and they actually have an extensive dessert menu. Entertainment is mesmerising- the class acts are most entertaining and enjoyed my all ages. I would truly recommend a night or 2 here. If you can't get get out though there is an excellent take away service available.

Me and my partner eat here regularly as the food is always fresh and the service is good. The price is exellent value and we will keep coming back here.

We are regular visitors to the Viceroy - the food is always delicious , the staff are very friendly and the service is very good . The restaurant is very clean and the tribute nights are a lot of fun and value for money . We have also come on New Year's Eve it is the best night you have to try hope this review is helpful
